We’ve only had 1 night here out of 7, but it’s been exceptional. The room is beyond beautiful. The staff are lovely. The iced coffee in the attached cafe is the best I’ve ever had! The location is 100/10 with amazing breakfast spots within a five minute walk. We’ll 100% stay here again. Once down is that the pool is freezing, but that’s no fault of the hotel! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stayed there for 4 nights. The hotel itself is in an easy to access location and decorated nicely- however multiple issues were noted during our stay. The fridge and safe in our room was not working at all. On the last 2 nights there was no consistent hot water to shower- it would flip between freezing cold (mainly) or boiling hot every 30seconds.
The bathroom was not cleaned well- especially around the edges.
The daily room cleaning didn’t really include any cleaning- just emptying the bins and replacing the towels.
For a 4star hotel it was lacking, wouldn’t really recommend.

Staff were always pleasant and willing to help.

Room was excellent. Majority of staff struggle with English even though it is a major tourist area ( I know I don't speak Thai, but in tourism English is required as the more universal language). To be told to come back at 8pm (at 2pm) when the 1 person with a grasp of English would be available is odd. Breakfast was good. Location good.

The room was only ok. It was a bit dated. I didn’t think the cleanliness was up to standard. Quite a lot of black mould in the bathroom. I thought the towels smelt musty even after having them changed. The bedsheets did have some marks on them.
Breakfast was just about ok I suppose, but we chose to eat out as it wasn’t up to the standard that we would like.
We were on the 3rd floor and were kept up by loud music around the pool when we tried to have a nap in the afternoon after an early morning trip.
We slept well 3 out of 4 nights but the bar across the road had a very loud DJ night one night which kept up up until 12:30pm. This would be ok if you were still up and out yourself.
This hotel definitely comes bottom of the pile in the list of hotels that we have stayed in sadly.

Amazing day the staff with the various accommodating. We had the double deluxe room which was very spacious and the Aircon was fantastic

We were frequent users of the pool and the staff member was very friendly who looked after us very well.

The hotel was close to a convenience store within a few minutes walk and there were some places for food and drinks nearby. The room was quite clean despite there were some visible bits of snacks hiding in the sofa. Beds were comfortable and air-conditioning was nice to keep us cool in summer. Water pressure in bathroom was strong for a relaxing shower and the bath tub was large. Some parts of the showering system was loose and not secured properly but it did not affect the function. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Overall I recommend this hotel for couples or small group of friends traveling together.

Our bartender was a pleasant and cheerful personality you will never forget!!! The location was exactly where we wanted to stay. I would highly recommend Lanna Oriental.

Good location in the old town but hotel should have no more than 3 stars. Bedroom was tiny. Bed was a mattress on the floor. Had to climb over the bed to get into the bathroom. Breakfast was only ok. WiFi was poor.

A very good and affordable hotel - would say budget end. The main tourist district of the old city is perhaps a good 15-20 min walk. Alternatively, can use the Grab taxi app for pretty cheap transport - around Thb 150 to town (US$ 4). There are also dining and cafe options to the south which are just 10 mins walk away.

The hotel was well located within the old downtown. We walked to the east gate from there (for the New Year's festivities in particular) and it takes 20 min. We walked to two main 'wats' as well and of course to various restaurants. The beds, linens, pillows, etc were comfy and clean. Rooms had a little fridge, AC, and amenities, and they smelled fine. Breakfast was very good: lots of Asian-style breakfast (which we didn't eat), but enough western-style content, like good-to-excellent fresh fruit, fried eggs, good-to-excellent croissants, jam, yogurt, and cereal. Also, we enjoyed the Asian sweet-bean-paste buns. We didn't try the pool, but it looked clean. Just simple and smallish, but on the roof top!

Disliked · The two staff prepping breakfast sometimes had trouble keeping up with the eaters. (Things would run out or not be ready.) Bread products at breakfast could be have been more various. The super textured floor in the bathrooms was kind of weird. It would have been nice if the hotel provided drinking water from a water fountain to refill our water bottles. We hate buying plastic bottles.

Lanna is an absolutely charming boutique hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. We specifically loved Jessy at the pool bar! I would recommend booking this stay for anyone looking for comfortable accommodations close to the action in Chiang Mai. We chose a king bed room and it was very comfortable. Black-out curtains in the room help you sleep very well! We stayed at Lanna because we wanted to be in the square. You can walk to plenty of places - including the length of the entire square if you'd like. Lanna is a perfect location because it feels quiet and private, but you can walk out and be part of the city at any time. We walked to some places and took a TukTuk to others. I would stay here again and recommend it to others!

Shocking how BAD the customer service was

Don't stay here! Only good about it was the location. Customer service was awful & upkeep of the property is terrible
1 Booked hotel because pool looked nice. It was green with algae
2 Shower sprays everywhere
3 Wooden floors are slippery. I fell
4 SmartTV internet doesn't work. Tried getting help, but just got excuses the internet cuts out, but didn't fix it. Called again for help, they never called back
5 Didn't need room cleaning, but asked for more water and coffee. They said the maids left for the day so we couldn't have any, but were willing to sell us the exact same water bottles we were supposed to get free!
6 They seem to understand English, but just say yes stare at you and don't actually help you or follow through with the request
7 Expect you to have exact change. Wouldn't give us change when we tried to pay for laundry, even though we know they had it, since we just paid them for water and beer
8 When you check out, they make you wait until they have the maid check the room. That was so insulting!
9 The step into the bathroom and around the bed isn't a safe layout, especially with the slippery floors
10 Safe wasn't working so they had to fix it
11 Bathroom door was really heavy & squeaked loudly. Could hear upstairs doors
12. Pool didn't seem to have closing hours, or not enforced. Loud people were there at 11pm each night. Never stayed at a hotel with such loud guests & didn't get regulated

This property is good value for the price. The coffee shop is good, breakfast is ok and the location allows some walking but is still a little way to the centre of Chiang Mai.

The gym is quite functional but the air conditioning doesn’t work and so it is really hot which means it is next to impossible to work out. Breakfast is basic but ok. Rooms are clean and simple. The futon rooms are fine but there isn’t much space around the bed to access the bathroom so it is a little tight. Showers in the bathroom the heads are also a little poor and so replacement would be good

Great hotel with romantic vibes. Lovely sunset by their pool. Easy location to access the town without the noise of the city center.

Skip the coffee at their bar, there are lots of cafes near by. But do pick up their banana sticky rice. It's only 25 B and you won't regret it.

Clean and nice looking rooms, but not a great value for the area. Room looked lovely, but shower water temp was unsteady and made for a frustrating shower experience. Breakfast was exactly the same as the $30-40/night hotels. Not a terrible experience, but not worth the price.

Unfortunately, due to corona, the pool shut down 2 hours after arrival (govt mandate). Nice hotel, good staff. Weird room configuration. The mattress is on the floor and the bathroom entry is a step down, right next to the bed. Riser in the middle of the room. Looks great, just wasn't comfortable or practical. Restaurant was below average.

Very beautiful hotel, clean and we'll maintained but a nice pool in the centre. It's in a great part of the city as it's in the 'main square' and it's easy to walk almost everywhere within. Comfortable bed, nice reception and breakfast was nicely done as well. Would recommend to anyone!
Only negative would be the coffee in the morning, I'm not overly picky but that was a hard one to get through. Luckily the coffee shop right next to the lobby was open early and had excellent coffee!

The property is very new and the rooms, and especially the bathrooms, are a lovely size. The pool is in the center of the property with a swim up bar, and the hotel also has a Thai Massage spa, a delicious breakfast buffet with both Thai and western options, and a cafe. It’s easy to get everywhere from the hotel on foot, rental scooter, or tuk tuk. The staff is friendly and willing to help. They offer tea upon check in and will hold your bags if you arrive early or have a late flight.

Very nice new hotel in Chiang Mai. The rooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathroom is clean and efficient, the staff are helpful, the food is good both for breakfast and at the restaurant. Checked out the pool, didn’t use it but it looks good. Didn’t see the gym or try the massage services. We liked the design of the hotel, kind of Morocco meets Lanna style. We have stayed in many places in CM and this is the first one we would stay at again. The only negative is the motorcycle noise from the street is a bit much at times. But that’s a problem most anywhere in this city.

Lanna Oriental staff saved my life. I had a horrible hysterectomy gone bad and my small intestine fell out of me while I was staying at Lanna Oriental. The staff immediately called 911 and ambulance was there to assist me in minutes. They were quick and knowledgeable with emergency situations and was extremely kind to visit me at the hospital. They also helped my family with our stay in the hotel while I was in the hospital recovering for 4 days. I owe my life to the Lanna Oriental Hotel staff and will remember them forever. My family and I are truly grateful!!!

The moment you get to Lanna Resort & Spa you can see that a lot of effort was placed in building a nice hotel with good facilities.

Unfortunately, the perception changes the moment you get to the reception and people do not reply back to your greeting and they do not convey any welcoming message at all.

Moreover, you feel you are in an episode of candid camera because of the surrealist of the situation when you try to communicate with the staff and it is barely impossible because of the language barrier: they do not express themselves in English. This is aggravated by having inexperienced staff in charge of the check-in/check-out processes without any sort of coaching by a senior colleague.

On a different note, since we did not find the breakfast too appealing we went to the cozy cafe which is also part of the hotel. Once I ordered, the waiter told us that they did not have any of the products I ordered (pancakes, bowl of cereals) and they did not have any alternative milk (I.e. soya, almond, rice, oat, etc) either.

We used the laundry service offered by the hotel which is outsourced to WashDrop (and btw, it really offers good value for money). I called to the reception from our room and asked if the laundry was ready and if so, if they could bring it to our room. The person at the reception replied that I had to pick it up myself.

Hopefully the upper management of this hotel will take note of our impressions and will take this hotel to the level it deserves

The layaout of the room was very nice and elegant. there was not a great deal of room for storage of clothing, but it was adequate. There was a \"balcony\" which since we were on the first floor was more of a patio which unfortunately faced the breakfast room (not very private) , but it was OK. The one problem we had was that the toilet did not flush adequately but we didn't report it for 3 days. When we reported it, they fixed it quickly. So our fault for not reporting it. (We were incorrectly pessimistic that it could be fixed.)

This hotel was amazing. Firstly the staff at the Lanna hotel were extremely friendly. The decor was beautiful and the rooms are clean and spacious.
The breakfast was very good and so was the coffee shop attached to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and did everything they could to help their guests, such as confirm bookings for excursions. They even left us roses on the bed for our honeymoon which was a really sweet and appreciated gesture.
Also the location is amazing and in walking distance to most of Chiang Mai’s big temples. Also many restaurants near by.
