Please allow me to start off saying that the greeting upon arrival was unmatched. Cheerful, positive and full of energy. Secondly, the house is PERFECT and Mrs. Terry and Mrs. Amber were the GREATEST!!! The home was clean, room was a nice size, water was hot with excellent water pressure and a wonderful location. I read a few reviews where others said traffic was bad. There is traffic but nothing bad at all. The breakfast, ESPECIALLY the homemade blueberry muffins were phenomenal. I will come back each and every time I’m in the area. Thank you for an AMAZING stay and hospitality Mrs. Terri and Mrs. Amber. See you very soon..

The caretaker was wonderful. She remembered my daughter from the past and was very attentive on what Megan requested and Megan very much enjoyed. room was very comfortable very clean. would recommend for anyone to stay at the northside Inn.

Wonderful stay!

We booked very last minute and Terri made us feel welcome from the start. Our room was large, clean, very comfortable and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. We really enjoyed chatting with Terri, she was like visiting a relative😊Morning breakfast was fun, we chatted with the other couple and shared ideas and stories.
This was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast and if they are all like this, we will definitely make it a habit. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!

Terri was a wonderful host! The continental breakfast was a great start to my day and had a good selection of food to choose from. The bed and breakfast has ample parking and it's a short walk to downtown Charlevoix. The street traffic can be very loud in the morning. So if you plan on sleeping in I would suggest booking one of the rooms farthest from the front of the house.

The charlevoix Northside was great, Terri is a attentive host and she did her best to salvage a very disappointing experience at the other charlevoix house. At that location we were mislead regarding the size and layout of the room which turned out to be on the third floor in a HOT attic without proper air conditioning or ventilation. AC was the other issue we were Mislead about. No attention to this problem was even attempted by manager. We were completely frustrated and Will Never return to charlevoix house near the downtown area.
Only high praise for the Northside location for helping us in a last minute situation.

The Charlevoix House Northside was perfect for our golf trip. The host couldn't have been more welcoming and our room was spacious and comfortable. The location was close enough to walk to downtown and just far enough away for peace and quiet. We would definitely stay again!

Teri is a great hostess. She was always available if anything was needed. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety. I would suggest adding a shelf in the shower area in the Hemingway rooms so there's a place for shampoo and soap, etc. Overall a very good experience.

Is a BNB, not a hotel

Overall this was the singular most disappointing interaction I have had with hotels.com, and the lack of support from both the hotel owner, as well as hotels.com have convinced me to stop using the service as a whole. I'd rather just book through hotel websites from now on.

To the meat of it-

This ‘hotel’ is not a hotel. It is a BNB. You are literally in a room off of someone’s kitchen or dining room or something similar.

Much like a listing on AirBNB, the property will have charges tacked onto your stay for ‘cleaning’ if you do not ‘clean’ to their expectation.

The property has a unique ‘check in’ which is ‘break into a strange house in the middle of the night’, because there is no check in process. They claim to send instructions on the website, but there were no instructions sent until reached out for more.

Is it a cute house? Sure. But I was trying to book a hotel, not an overnight at a strangers home.

Northside- Charlevoix House

It was a Relaxing/Amazing Trip. A 10 min walk to everything downtown Charlevoix. Room was immaculate, “Great Lakes.”

The Property Mgr. Terri was terrific, she always had a beautiful spread for breakfast, and she knows the area well, and always had great suggestions for restaurants, shopping and sight seeing.

I have already blocked another week in April, 2025.

I especially enjoyed meeting Terri and her daughter. They made me feel right at home, were more than helpful on local information, and it was fun to stay local in an old historical house. Terri provided a continental breakfast which was appreciated and more than adequate. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe in the area.

Terri was a wonderful host. The breakfast was good and the room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. The stairs are narrow so keep that in mind. If mobility is an issue, check to see if a first floor room is available. There is a window air conditioner in the room. Parking is very close.

The lovely lady and her grandson who maintained the home were very nice, friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy, but then the property is on a main thoroughfare and our room was at the front of the house.
This also made it very convenient to the downtown area. We would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at this bed-and-breakfast very much. The house manager was delightful and provided anything that we needed. Her breakfast was just perfect. The only comment that I would add is The building needs some upgrades as far as linens may be nicer towels, and more renovation on the building itself

The hostess was very friendly and made a nice breakfast. Felt very welcome into the home. Unfortunately the bed was quite worn, with a dip in the middle of the mattress which made it uncomfortable. There was an air conditioner unit in the window but it wasn't sealed to the outdoors and there were 100 little gnats gathering on the ceiling. Aside from those couple of negatives, the place was fine.

Nice location near downtown area of Charlevoix. The road in front is a tad busy, but not too bad. The room we booked was advertised as one king sized bed and one twin bed. Two guys traveling, but wanted separate beds. The \"twin\" bed is not really an actual bed, rather a small chair that rolls out. Adequate, but not a bed as advertised. The inn keeper, Terry was exceptionally nice and accommodating. Breakfast the next morning was hearty and enjoyable.

The room on the ground floor was convenient for my elderly parents. Terry, the hostess, was very kind and helpful. The steps into the house were challenging for my mother who is quite disabled. We were told that the owner is getting things under way to make a ramp.
