The hotel website as well as Expedia website said the hotel had “indoor pool and hot tub.” The pool and hot tub were full of water but closed for guests to use. The room pictures showed an arm chair in the room selected. There was no chair. The breakfast was poorly stocked and presented. We were kept awake much of the night by a guest in another room who was yelling. We called the desk and they said they would check it out. The staff was aware of the problem but did not do anything about it. When we complained that the pool was not available, the staff made no attempt to explain or apologize but instead said their website did not say there was a pool and that third-party websites, including Expedia, were “counterfeit.” The Best Western website for this hotel states amenities include pool and hot tub. The staff never made any attempt to improve our stay and implied it was our fault for expecting a pool.

Booked our hotel specifically for the hot tub/pool, which turns out was waiting on an inspection and was closed during our stay. Very frustrating, but out of the staff’s control.

What is under their control is how they treat guests. Woke up the first morning of our stay, and was very much looking forward to a hot shower.. only to find the water didn’t get much above lukewarm. Went to the lobby to get extra towels for my partner and ask if the water was just a problem with our room, or a known hotel-wide issue. Was greeted by the front desk staff with an eye roll and a sigh when asking for additional towels. She said she didn’t know of any hot water issue. But in the next breath said that it happens when too many people take a shower at once.. so I guess they were, in fact, aware of it. Didn’t really have a hot shower for our entire stay, even with timing showers late in the evening. Very disappointing, but more disappointing about the indifference/rudeness from staff.

The breakfast was the only decent thing about this stay, and maybe the courtyard. But that’s about it. Would not recommend.

We were staying there because my mom was having knee surgery. I requested (twice) a room as close as I could get. They put us on the 2nd floor, down the hall.
There was a bed bug on the bathroom floor this morning. Never! Again!

A hot tub was not working and had not been working for at least a month we were told. However, when we booked it that information was not given. Or we would not have booked there. The bathrooms are just a toilet and a small shower stall so if you're a pretty big person you are not going to be comfortable. The rack over the toilet was not fastened well and there was a hair on one of the towels. We tried to use the heater and it stank so badly we could only run the fan to try to keep the air moving in the room. The room looks like it's been updated but there are things that have not been addressed and they don't show that in the photos. The staff was wonderful and friendly. We did not use the breakfast so I can't comment on that part.

I felt that the price we paid did not reflect the room. I would have gladly paid $100 for a night here, not nearly $300. Granted, we did come on a Saturday night during peak fall season but the price was still too high. The rooms were clean, but a king sized bed would have been more comfortable. I also appreciated the hot breakfast options but the quality was just average. I wouldn't consider it walkable to downtown Charlevoix.

This might have been the worst hotel, in regards to service, that I have ever stayed. The check-in process was good and the guy that checked us in was very nice. Sadly, everyone else that I witnessed at the front desk never smiled when they were talking to me, or anyone else. Or, when we walked past the desk, they never looked up from their computer to even acknowledge you. The rooms had a little issue as well. The fluorescent lights above the bed and desk area did not all work. There was mold in the shower. When we opened up the window, there were a pile of dead flies in the corner of the sill. They put us in an adjoining room without asking if that was ok. Back in my hotel days, we made sure it was good with the guest before we put them in the room. If it was all we had, then we let them know instead of them being surprised by it. We could hear our neighbors talking very easily. The people above us were very heavy footed, so you could hear every step they made. When I asked about checking out early, I was told that there was a early check out penalty. What?? We were staying from Saturday to Wednesday, check out on Thursday. I asked on Monday evening and I was told that if I checked out early, they were going to charge me through Wednesday. I have never heard of that. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Upon arrival late in the evening, the hottub was unavailable!
The pool had COLD water being pumped into as verified by other guests, also.

The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending. Within a few miles. This hotel just needs a lot of updating especially for the price. Everything— the shower, the beds, the cabinet for clothes, the towels,etc.were very old and worn. For $200 a night, it should be much better. Staff were great. Liked complimentary water. Seemed to be enough parking.

For almost $200 a night my expectations were a little higher. While the room was not dirty, it didn't feel clean. Just an older hotel, but just didn't feel it was worth the money. We actually left one night early because my daughter has anxiety about cleanliness, so we just drove home thru the night rather than stay.

My husband and I reserved the patio suite and I am so happy we did. It made it so much easier for him to take his service dog (75 lbs) outside. We were there the last week of Aug and I spent hours sitting outside on the patio reading/drinking. Lounge chairs provided. There are 4-5 tables and chairs in the courtyard where our patio rm was located. All grassy area except some flagstones in the center. I never saw another guest outside in the courtyard so it was like we had the place to ourselves. Breakfast has a good variety. The hotel could use a little sprucing up. It is showing some wear and tear but hasn't reached \"dated\" just yet. We were comfortable, felt safe and the place was very clean.

Don’t reserve here if you can help it!

Starting with the Inn marking our ( my adult son and I) first nights reservation as “no show” and the rude woman on duty literally telling me “tough luck” until I stood my ground and demanded a room, which had ONE bed and a cheap rollaway, through the following morning when a room with 2 beds was given to us on a floor undergoing maintenance and painting where every wall was spackled and the room had a bathroom fan that emitted a loud screeching sound when turned on, ending with the entire bill being charged on the debit card that was only supposed to have $1 charged instead of using the card I made the reservation with. A gentleman behind the desk Sunday evening fixed the card situation although now I have to wait days for the $800+ charge to come out of my checking account and only gave,a $100 discount on my bill. The bright side was the jacuzzi and the great service provided from Jocelyn, who was lovely.

This is an attractive property with plenty of parking. About a mile from the town center, it is convenient to area attractions. The standard rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The breakfast area is not large but the extended hours means it is not crowded. Beverages are available 24 hours. The kids enjoyed the well maintained indoor pool and the hotel provided extra towels at no charge.

The lighting was horrible and buzzed. Fortunately I brought my own lit makeup mirror The bathroom was tiny. The sheets were scratchy. Despite quiet hours we heard people running up and down the halls. Housekeeping staff was good for the rooms but the common areas were messy and dirty. The pool and hot tub need a good cleaning.
