Can’t rate this hotel more highly. It’s in a great location in the centre of Thamel, so good for being able to get around the city. The room was very clean and the staff very courteous. I indie had to extend my stay by a week due to the outbreak of war in the Middle East, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting and need somewhere to stay.

I appreciated the improvements to the rooms I stayed in, compared to past trips. This included such things as better lighting, or better shower layout. Location is fairly convenient to access all things in Thamel, and taxis were readily available at the hotel for daytime excursions. Breakfast was abundant, and staff were universally helpful and smiling. Their friendliness certainly enhanced the comfort and joy of my stay. I have stayed here multiple times in past years and would return!

There were upgrades since the last time I stayed, including for the shower and room decors. Staff was particularly kind and helpful, which certainly influences my review. There is no elevator, but staff are accommodating based on patron needs. I appreciated that this hotel is off of one of the main streets and not on it; noise would be much greater on larger streets. Breakfast was ample for my needs.

The best thing about this hotel is the people who work here. Some of the most genuine people I’ve met. They really are here to support you and make sure you have a good time.

The staff is absolutely amazing. Raj was wonderful helping me with taxis, excursions, and even helped me with my phone when it was having issues. Bicum, Nisan, Noraj and Ram are awesome. They are extremely friendly, helpful and kind. They all really made my stay very nice. The hotel is in a great location, with many shops and restaurants in close walking distance. The breakfast is very good as well. And the cook is very good. I spent three very enjoyable weeks at this hotel. I look forward to returning in the future.

If travelling to Kathmandu I thoroughly recommend this Hotel as your base. In Thamel but quiet enough at night to get a restful sleep.

More importantly the manager sets an amazing tone and welcomes you warmly from the get go. Nice to be greeted by forst name basis.

All other staff are friendly too.

This hotel had excellent reviews. The price was good, so I booked it. I was not disappointed. The manager, Raj & his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I could feel the warmth & friendship of the hotel as soon as I arrived. Nothing is to much trouble for them. I leave today for Pokhara, but will come back & stay here again next week when I return. Strongly recommend this hotel. You simply can not go wrong staying here. Its excellent.

Hotel Friend's Home had excellent service. There is 24 hr check in which is great for international travel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's affordable but they will treat you like you're a 5 star client.

Pro-tip if you're sight seeing or need a cab they can hook you up with the best deal!

Raj and the staff are A+. They continually go out of their way to make sure that all of your questions are answered and your needs are met. I was made to feel like the hotel was literally my home away from home. I ended up extending my stay multiple times because of the amazing hospitality and experience that I had here. Raj can direct you to some great restaurants and bakeries in the area as well as any activities that you may have interest in. I feel grateful for my time at my “friends home” hotel.

Like most places in Kathmandu in this budget range, some things might be rough around the edges, but I loved my stay at the Hotel Friend's Home due to service, cleanliness, and a great breakfast! The location is outstanding with a nice place to eat dinner and get a cappuccino just 10 steps from the front door. Wi-fi very fast. Rooms exactly as shown on the web. The service was extremely good. The hotel manager coordinated all travel requirements: obtaining air tickets to Pokhara as well as a hotel and transport in Pokhara, cars for day trips near Kathmandu, changed money, held my suitcase while I was in Pokhara, got my laundry done. All internationals staying at the hotel, some with serious trekking gear, some with kids. Very safe rooms and surroundings. I was extremely pleased with the experience and a little surprised given the price. Highly recommended.

This hotel is very cozy and all the staff is so friendly and helpful. They are always willing to serve you and do not expect anything in return. One worker here who name is Sameer is outstanding. There was never a time that he was not smiling and willing to help with whatever I needed. The manager, Rajkumar, is also very friendly and helpful and easy to talk with. If I come to Nepal again I will definitely stay here for some time.

Staff at this place are lovely and helpful. It's close to Thamel so in a busy area. An walk everywhere from here which is good. It's a beautiful rooftop with greenery on the roof which I spent lots of time at. The only negative thing really is that it's a lot of construction work around so wake up early..

The property is in a good location; on a side street but close walking distance to the shops, eating places etc. It was also walking distance to Durbar Square.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and sure did make you feel at home.
The biggest challenge was the lack of an elevator. When I first arrived at 1.00am, tired and worn out I was put in a room on the third floor. it was very difficult for me to get up to that room. however, the next morning they moved me to the first floor.
Breakfast was adequate and tasty.

Brilliant little hotel in heart of Thamel in Kathmandu. Off the busier roads so is quiet at night. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Hotel always has cabs to hail outside; is beside an ATM; as well as close to many restaurants and shops.

Great value. I had corner room with a queen bed, mini fridge, AC. WiFi was very good. Buffet breakfast was ok, muesli, yogurt, fresh fruits, coffee tea, juices, a variety of hot dishes, bread, made to order eggs. No elevator but someone takes your luggage up. Great location in thamel away from hustle and bustle but less than 5 minutes walk Will stay here again.

my first trip to Kathmandu and i have found this nice hotel with nice owner, great service, from review by other travelers, great location, clean room , decent property , except you have walk up , there is no lifts! And i want to advise first time visitors, it you going to rent a car to anywhere ,check around , there many tour agency, by asking the hotel manager to arrange you be charge 100% more for the same services, but i can understand , this is business, but no one is happy to be charge double , as i have found out after renting a car with driver to Pohkara , other then that i be happy to returned again,

My husband and I really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The service was fantastic!!! Loved the rooftop garden patio and the restaurant (great curry and soups)... we ate dinner there both nights... and very good breakfast with eggs made to order. Would definitely stay there again when in Kathmandu.

Located in the heart of Thamel, near tons of shops and restaurants. Hotel staff are very helpful, and recommended lot of sightseeing and eating options for us. The room was clean, functional, a/c and TV worked very well, bed was very clean.
Breakfast was great - eggs done any way we wanted, plus a buffet of potatoes, fruits, some pasta or noodles, grilled tomatoes, beans, toast, and coffee/tea. Plus coffee / tea is complimentary anytime we want. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Kathmandu.
We had some trouble connecting with them to pick us up from the airport, but other than that great hotel!
