Lovely stay for 6 days. Staff was delightful and very helpful.
Room was beautiful, old world Moroccan decor, with daily cleanings and thoughtful servicing.
This is a place for those who wish to experience restful and classic Moroccan experience, not a modern sterile environment.
Definitely will be back!

Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Someone was available 24/7 to provide. There were no set times for breakfast- available instantly when you wanted it. Breakfast was typically orange juice, tea or coffee, fruit salad with homemade yoghurt, pancakes, toast, eggs/omlette and a slice of a different morrocan cake each day (2nd servings of all available).
The food on an evening was freshly cooked and of a high standard. The Riad is 15 minutes walk from the centre of the Medina, which means it is much quieter.

There are not enough words to explain how wonderful Riad Hikaya is. It is truly a remarkable establishment and was, hands down, the highlight of our trip to Marrakech. The service was impeccable and personal. The room was incredibly comfortable and welcoming. And the rest of the Riad was beautifully appointed. Our first night there we arranged for a dinner by the pool in the courtyard and it was the best meal we had our entire trip. I really wish we had chosen to eat in every night because all the other establishments we visited paled in comparison. Breakfasts were decadent. After the busyness of Medina, Riad Hikaya felt like a retreat to peace and refuge. If I could give it six stars I would.

On arrival (the Riad sorted return taxis at a great price), served with traditional mint tea and homemade baked goods - such a lovely attention to detail.
Facilities fantastic, entirely bespoke rooms and beautiful decor. Turndown service and daily cleaning were immaculate.
Breakfast delicious - fresh coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and omelettes made to order.
Staff were all so accommodating, kind and enthusiastic. I was travelling solo, staying at Riad Hikaya whilst friends stayed at another hotel, however I definitely feel I lucked out with my choice to stay here.

We stayed in a few different riads throughout our time in Marrakesh and this one was so beautifully decorated, with plenty of common spaces to mingle, eat, relax. We loved the rooftop, even in chillier weather. The decor is so beautiful throughout the riad and we loved our room.

The Riad Hikaya was a wonderful all round experience- both a haven from the frenetic world of Marrakech and its lively streets and wonderful opportunity to absorb some of the culture of Morocco. The staff were outstanding- so friendly and nothing was too much trouble- always replying 'It my pleasure' and it really felt sincere.
The decor and the food were traditional and the spa treatments were wonderfully local and certainly helped us to relax and enjoy our holiday.
Thank you to all the team at Riad Hikaya- we will be back on day when we return to Morocco- thank you for making our holiday so joyful

Me and my partner Harry stayed at riad hikaya and it was the best place we have ever stayed before! The staff are the most thoughtful welcoming people and made such an effort to make our stay so special, the riad was absolutely beautiful, when we got there wadia gave us loads of tips on where to go in Marrakech and organised lots for us during our stay! Could not have wished for a better place to stay! Also great location in terms of the medina! Will definitely be returning:)

This was a lovely Riad in the old medina. The room was great, the staff were very very helpful. Be sure to get a hamman scrub and a massage. It was excellent! We also enjoyed the roof top and ate breakfast up there and also enjoyed a glass of wine up there in the evening. The Riad is walking distance to many things in the old medina.

Excellent hospitality from the time of check-in to check-out. Never felt if we had left home. Extremely responsive to our needs even at 3am. My daughter got sick and the staff went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable away from home. Getting us to the doctor and pharmacy. Nada, the young lady, is gem of a person. In fact everyone is. All facilities are available 24hr. Breakfast was made to order. Riad is small and setup to show the moroccon culture. Attention to details. If we ever return to Marrakech, we certainly be staying at this Riad. Keep it up.

From seamless airport pickup via their app in a luxe Mercedes to a warm welcome with Moroccan tea and a property tour, everything was handled with care. The location is fantastic—seconds from local shops and the Saadian Tombs.

Our room was spotless and well-stocked, refreshed daily, and the air conditioning made sleep blissfully cool. Breakfast each morning was a dream—pastries, fruit, crepes, omelettes, Moroccan tea or coffee, and fresh juice—served in your choice of serene spots: poolside, terrace, or dining room.

The staff truly shine. Everyone we met was kind, incredibly attentive, and full of insightful local tips—better than any guidebook. We booked a private Agafay Desert excursion, arranged smoothly and added to our bill with zero hassle.

What really sets Riad Hikaya apart is the sense of home. Every small touch, every kind gesture makes a difference. We’re so glad we chose a riad over a resort—and even happier it was this one. Immense gratitude to the entire team!

It’s Like Having A Local Family to Welcome You.

My mother and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Morocco, and we stayed at Riad Hikaya to get the experience of staying in the Medina. I can’t complement the quality and kindness of the staff enough! If you are interested in having a Riad experience, this is the place. The staff will become like family. My mother, at 88 is not always steady on her feet, but they were super attentive and helpful. The food they serve is excellent! The breakfasts are a feast, and we liked the food so much we ended up eating most of our dinners there as well. You will not be disappointed. If staying in a more sterile hotel is more your speed, then this is not for you. But, if you want a warm and caring experience, I can’t think of a better place to stay. From the start, they gave us tips in negotiating prices in the Souks, they arranged for a top notch guide to help us navigate the markets, and they prepared us for navigating the Medina.

The ONLY place to stay

From the moment we entered the riad it was warm and inviting. Not sure I’ve ever experienced anything like this (in a good way). Each room was creatively decorated and unique. Breakfast was delicious each and every morning.Nada, Abdul and the entire staff felt like family by the time we left. If I could give a better rating than 10 out of 10 I would. Close to everything yet far enough away from the soul…easy walk.
Hope to return some day.

Stayed for a week and was well looked after by all the staff, who were attentive and helpful on the area and arranged transportation for us on arrival and departure.

While a little distance away from the Souk, 15 min walk, it’s not too far but offers a peaceful stay. Plenty of food places around the area and taxi nearby. Bus stop 5 min walk.

Lovely sweet breakfast, often more food than we could eat. Pool takes the edge off the heat. And the terrace looks over the south of the city towards the Atlas Mountains, which are visible on a clear day.

A beautiful oasis

We stayed in this riad for a full week (our first stop in a longer trek in Morocco) and I cannot say enough positive things about Riad Hikaya.

An unassuming exterior in the relatively quiet Kasbah neighborhood leads to a gorgeous common area with a pool and a fountain, the latter adorned with fresh flower petals every day. Our room was beautiful, lushly decorated with beautiful details making everything feel cared for (a custom-made box to hide a heat/air unit? Great idea). The bathroom was incredible, with beautiful tile and marble work.

Many of the staff have been there for years and it shows in how warm and welcome we felt there.

The food is delicious. Breakfast became a wonder tour of different dishes. If you plan to eat dinner you should let them know in advance, as they will shop for ingredients in the market the very same day.

Logistically, it’s a relatively short walk to the chaos that the Medina is known for, and has an uncommon benefit in being accessible by car.

I cannot recommend a stay here more, and should we find ourselves in Marrakech, will be staying here again.

The Riad and the staff at Hikaya were wonderful. The space is an oasis of calm in a bustling city. Beautifully decorated and serene, with a lovely roof terrace to enjoy the Moroccan sun. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful (so many pastries) and had variety everyday. The staff were a perfect balance of always being available but also left you to enjoy the peace! My husband and I stayed the Riad Hikaya for our honeymoon and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The breakfast was delicious and elaborate! We had dinner twice at the Riad and it was absolutely delicious. When it comes to the service - it was seriously amazing! The staff were so thoughtful, personable and kind. Can’t say enough about this beautiful Riad. Most importantly, the wonderful staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The rooms are beautifully decorated, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the rooftop, they arranged tours and taxis when we needed them. It’s one of the few Riads in the Casbah that a car can pull right up to so you don’t have to get out and navigate the small alleys.

The most beautiful stay. The hosts made us feel incredibly welcome and were so attentive to our every need. We really felt so at home.
The riad itself is stunning, the detail and design is breathtaking and completely clean. Our room was tidied and refreshed daily.
The breakfast was amazing and massive! Loved trying lots of different traditional bits. For the last day, I wasn’t very well so breakfast was brought to my room at around 3pm!

Loved this riad by far my favourite stay in Marrakech. You felt like royalty the moment you entered. The staff was always smiling and friendly and eager to help you. I felt like a celebrity here. The breakfast was amazing. The staff were EXCEPTIONAL. Truly outstanding. They went through an entire map of Marrakech with me offering amazing suggestions. Overall don’t hesitate to book here. The decor is also incredible. I stayed at 6 riads during my time in Marrakech this stood out among the rest as a truly magical experience. Loved every moment. So generous. So hospitable. The property itself like the name Hikaya or story is definitely magical and like a dream when you enter. The spaces inside are definitely a culmination of stories that you feel comfortable and relaxed in. Definitely a place I would return to. Be sure to try their food especially breakfast.

I loved everything about Riad Hikaya but mostly the staff who work there who really went out of their way to make me feel like a part of the family. I felt they wanted me to be there. It was so convenient to get everywhere I wanted to get to in Marrakech and just minutes away from the square. The riad is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful riad full of colour and character. On a quiet street in easy walking distance to the buzzing areas. Big comfy bed and nice hot shower. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice choosing different places to eat. Pool is lovely and the rooftop area is great to relax on. The biggest draw of this place is the staff. Wadi gave a big warm welcome with a useful guided chat with a map to explain the sites and areas. The staff there are incredible and Nada and the other people behind the scene work tirelessly and made us feel so welcome. A huge thank you to you all for a wonderful stay.

AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. Words can’t express how grateful I am to the incredible staff. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was like a movie. As soon as we arrived they welcomed us with a refreshing tea ceremony and outlined the entire city on a map for us. I’m allergic to gluten and dairy, and the staff went out of their way to shop and prepare special gluten free breads and dairy free smoothies for me. The hammam experience was INCREDIBLE… I had to do it twice because I loved it so much. The Riad organized all of our transportation and services, and I can’t speak enough to the love, care, and memorable experiences they put together for us. From a dinner in the desert, to shopping at cooperatives with true artisans, to beautiful bridal henna with a song to bless us, to having the sweetest driver who took pictures of us everywhere we went, to tailoring a skirt and pair of pants for me, to giving us a lovely farewell. WOW. I have stayed at five star hotels around the world, but the Riad Hikaya is so much more. They became family. We love this beautiful old world oasis and will be back with our family for years to come. Thank you for giving us the honeymoon of our dreams. You are all truly a blessing! -Megan and Cory

Pros: Hospitable Staff, mingle with locals, safe, beautifully decorated and managed, friendly staff delicious onsite and freshly prepared meals, quiet property, walkable distance to the souks and cafes, Cafe Clock literally 200 ft away from Riad, and happiest group of people I’ve met during Ramadan.

Cons: The water did not get hot and barely came on after 10pm. The pool was not heated. WiFi intermittently drops( not really an issue for me as I’m on holiday and did not need it—more of an issue if you need it).

Now that that’s out the way! I enjoyed my experience here and would not hesitate to stay again given longer time in Marrakech. The people are extremely friendly, honest, and hard working. They want you to enjoy their country and take an immense pride in having tourists from all walks of life in their beautiful country. This Riad felt like home away from home in the sense that I felt safe and knew that I was ok each night. My son who is 11 joined me on this trip and he loved the authentic Moroccan experience at the Riad to include the welcome tea. I will be back! Thanks to all!!

Great staff. Monsieur Wadia, manager took care arranging taxi to pickup from the airport, Hot air ballooning, quad at agafay, hike to Ourika water fall, massage...and drop off at the airport.

Abdol was of great help. Got us SIM card, printed boarding pass..

The lady at the evening shift was very kind. She even offered to make breakfast for us 2.30 AM as we had an early morning flight

Riad Hikaya is a feast for the senses- everywhere you look there are different Moroccan artefacts, textures and colours. You truly are transported to a different world as soon as you enter. We stayed at Riad Hikaya for a few days in June 2023. The riad's staff is wonderful. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. For example, if you need a taxi, then the front desk can help you arrange one. The staff are also willing to help arrange anything else you need. The restaurant is good - a highlight is the breakfast. If you ask nicely, the staff will bring your breakfast up to the roof deck. The indoor pool is handy on a hot day. The hotel furnishings are beautiful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic traditional riad - great svc & location

John greeted us and spent 2 hours briefing us on Marrakech; best sights, best restaurants, excursions, people, culture, history, scams to avoid, bartering tips, personal safety, .... This gave us a lot more confidence in what is quite an alien environment for most tourists. We really enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end.

We will recommend Riad Hikaya to family & friends.
