Sadly the area surrounding the hotel isn’t amazing, but I think that’s just because we didn’t like Cairo too much!
The location is really close to Tahir Sq and the Egyptian Museum, 30 min a taxi to pyramids

Wonderful way to end our vacation in Egypt

The Osiris was the perfect hotel for our two day stay in Cairo: Convenient location, quiet due to being on the 12th floor, friendly staff, comfortable and clean room with a relatively new A/C unit. We loved the rooftop terrace and the cozy patio. We can certainly see why Lonely Planet recommends this hotel and why it has very good Hotels.com ratings. If we make it back to Cairo, we would stay here again and will recommend it to our friends who might travel to Egypt.

Thank you for the stay! God ratio price-service-cleanliness. But of course not the same cleanliness as in Sweden. I went alone as a woman, but I also had some help the first night to check in my my Egyptian friend. I felt safe. 65 EGP for the breakfast on the roof terrasse nice! The roof terrasse is amazing and the small colourful birds! Wifi not so good, I was using my Vodafone simcard for video calls for work.

Hotel on the 12th floor of an older building. Yes, there's an rlevator! Nice lobby with chairs and decorative touches. A balcony adjacent to the lobby with a couple of tables and a selectiin of books other travelers have left behind. Clean, tidy eooms. Nothing fancy. A small fridge, decent TV, and, most importanrly, A/C! Pretty small shower and hot water lasted just long enough to wash and condition my hair. BTW - no beer contrary to what was mentioned before. But nice little restaurant on lovely rooftop patio. Views were great. AND my room towards the back was quiet!! That is a miracle in downtown Cairo.

The room was smaller than I expected, but other than that, it was clean, the bathroom was good (shower was again small), the rooftop is nice, and breakfast was okay. Great for a stop over in Cairo or for visiting the museum which is walkable from the hotel. Breakfast starts at 8, which is a bit late if you want to start your day early, and it was setup only around 8:15. For the price, it was good value.

Osiris is located in the heart of Cairo but as it's located on the top floor of a building it was quiet enough at night. There were lots of common areas including a great roof terrace. Breakfast was basic but only cost 66 EGP. Rooms were generally comfortable and I slept well, although overall cleanliness could be better. It's a solid choice for the budget conscious traveller.

Very good stay at Osiris. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and spacious (we purchased the family room so our family of 4 could all stay together and the kids appreciated having their own bed.). The beds were comfortable and our balcony overlooked Cairo. It was a little noisy and we had to walk about 10 minutes to get to the Eqyptian Museum and a metro stop but we knew that going in. The property was well priced for what you got. Would definitely stay here again if we come to Cairo.

Hotel overall is good. Room 140 bathroom is poorly designed. Shower curtain stops about 5 inches above the floor, allowing shower spray to go all over. Also the toilet faces and is close to the sink, making it awkward to use.

There's a wonderful rooftop terrace (13th floor, so great views of the city). And the best falafel for breakfast! Great to be just a few blocks from Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. The staff were kind and helpful. The room and lobby areas are in need of some maintenance, but overall adequate and safe.

We stayed here Nov18-22. The lobby and the rooms are great but the bathroom needs to be updated as it smells. The Staff is very friendly and courteous and once we identified the issue with the room or food they promptly tried to address. The night of our departure we were checking out at 3:00 am and there was no water in washroom. The staff immediately brought us tons of water bottles to help us. For the price you paying for this budget hotel the services are not bad, plus it is close to 10 to 12 mins walk to El-Tahrir Square. The breakfast that was included in the price was not too bad. fresh falafels were super with limited continental breakfast items.

My New Home in Cairo

The hotel was a delightful friendly place to spend several days in downtown Cairo. I had an interior room that was quiet, neat, and simple. Egypt's budget-friendly hotels are what they are, and this one maximized its best attributes--a wonderfully friendly and attentive staff, excellent breakfast, and a beautiful rooftop terrace from which to greet the day or bid it goodbye. Good hotel, great roof terrace for breakfast and other meals, good staff. Tours from the hotel are very reasonable (50usd for private day tour for 3 people, for guide and driver. Entrance fees extra). Hotel doesn’t tell you it’s on the top floor of a commercial building and when we arrived there was no one in the lobby to tell us where to go, which was confusing. Rooms clean and comfortable - but could be improved by providing a kettle for drinks. And our en suite toilet was just a screened off section of the room, which was ok but not ideal. Overall, recommended mid-range option.

The reason I booked with Osiris was it's location near the Egyptian Museum, clients' reviews and the price. The location was perfect at 20 minutes by foot from the Tahrir place and Museum. The breakfast very basic, the people/staff helpful and very kind, the room/bathroom very basic - the view from the roof a little depressing with all the garbage on the roofs around.....you get what you pay for. For 2 nights, it's fine.

Incredible place and amazing room with views of the skyline and the rooftop is just as amazing!! But the Managers from arriving were at first welcoming but later on became rude. When leaving the hotel I had booked a taxi the night before with one of the Managers, the next day I was called a liar by another manager who had called the manager I spoke with saying I did not book a taxi. All of the other Staff were brilliant, Airport Pick up was good conversation, Chef was fantastic always very kind, Also other staff were very nice aswell and always talkative and smiling, one even negotiated a good price for a taxi after the ordeal I had from the managers.

Don't Hesitate to Book The Osiris Hotel

We stayed at Osiris for 7 nights as a family (Mum, son 18 and daughter 11) and we're completely satisfied with our accommodation. Cairo airport is mental so definitely get picked up from the airport or you could end up literally anywhere! The room was clean and comfortable with a private bathroom and a large fridge freezer. Views from the roof terrace are spectacular as is the service provided by all of the staff. If there is anything you need, or anything you would like them to do for you, it is available with a smile. My daughter, who can be rather nervous around new people, was very happy at this hotel and came to enjoy the attention from the staff. A guided tour with Carlos is a must for anyone staying here! He will give your invaluable advice about the area you wish to visit before he takes you and keep you safe during the trip. His English and knowledge of the area are both excellent. The on site chef is also available 24 hours a day to provide anything you may need - he makes a descent a brew and always has a smile. Currency exchange is available at the reception and we used the service as it's probably safer than going to the bank and being overlooked by someone even though the people in the local area are all very welcoming. We can definitely recommend Osiris hotel and hope to be able to return here ourselves in the future.

Comfortable Hotel in Convenient Location

Hidden on the 12th Floor of a building, Osiris offers great rates in a central location. You can walk about 5 to 10 minutes in any direction and find plenty of food options, and many sights are an easy Metro/taxi ride away. Uber is a great, hassle-free way to get here as well, at rates lower than the hotel shuttle or taxis. Staff is helpful, and the breakfast is a good spread of Egyptian and western offerings.

My room (#123), while satisfactory, has a couple of issues and would not be my first choice. Wifi doesn't reach the end of the corridor (where Rooms 122-125 are located), so we needed to go to the lobby or roof to get connected. The toilet is also outside of the room, which becomes annoying to access since we constantly have to go in and out of the room. Some people also ignore the sign that the toilet is for Room 123 only. The set-up of the shower is odd.

Best value hotel in Cairo

Well I haven't checked them all but the Osiris is excellent value. Its on the12 floor (top) of a rather unimposing building but, being high and the way it is facing, you do not hear the traffic although it is very central - a short walk from Tahrir square and the museum. The rooms are clean and I think all have ensuite bathrooms and air-con. Some are very large with beds for 4 and some have balconies. There is wi-fi. Breakfast is adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful and will arrange taxis for you. The rooftop is open and a nice place to have a drink. Really you don't need to spend a lot more money at one of the international chains. The Osiris has all you need for a comfortable stay.
If you are looking for a nice nearby cafe/restaurant the Oldish is nice about 5 minutes walk along Mohammed Mahmoud St - goto the corner and turn left.

This hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Cairo, not far from Tahrir Square. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is on the top floor of an office block which is a bit odd but once you get up to the hotel it has a comfortable lounge area and a fantastic view across Cairo. The room was very comfortable and good value for money.

A hotel that saved our entire trip.

Having come from working in a refugee camp in Greece, we needed a new place to focus our energies and a transition to traveling to Tanzania. Osiris provided both beautifully.

First, they directed us and arranged for a terrific trip to the pyramids, with the guide Mohammed Amen. His English and knowledge about all things cultural, historical, and political are excellent. He negotiated a camel ride and provided an excellent Egyptian lunch.

Osiris Hotel also gave us all of the pointers for managing the Kahlilli Khan, the largest market in Cairo -- how to get there, what to do, where to go, how to handle ourselves.

We were a walk away from the Cairo Museum (unbelievable collection) and the gardens along the Nile. It was a safe neighborhood and an interesting one, particularly during Ramadan as we could hear the praying every evening at sundown from our balcony overlooking the city.

Second, I left my mobile phone in the taxi of Mr. Saheed, who went home to his family after a long day of driving. Not only did our host Mr. Nabil, connect with our driver to bring us the mobile at the airport, but he negotiated with the security at the airport to get my hand to touch that of Mr. Saheed and receive my phone back -- all within the restrictions of immigration and passport control. It was a remarkable feat that only Mr. Nabil and Saheed could have managed.

Small hotel on the top floor of a commercial building in Bab el Louk on Nobar St., just off Midan Falaki. Within easy walking distance for either Sadat or M. Naguib Metro stations. Clean, comfortable rooms with good breakfasts. Very helpful, friendly owners and staff.

Our room was very clean, had a balcony overlooking the city, and air conditioning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast included an omelette, yogurt, cheese, bread, fruit, and veggies. The location was great, just a short walk away from the Egyptian museum. Upon leaving, we were on the street attempting to catch a cab, but getting refused by cabbies. The owner just happened to walk up and saw us with our luggage. He hailed us a cab and negotiated the trip and fare with the cabbie. It was extremely helpful. Free wifi was available in the lobby.

A great deal for the money.

This is more of a hi-tier hostel than a regular type hotel for those who want regular type hotel
amenities. No room TV and wireless only works in small reception area. What makes this place work is the owner, Nabil (sp) and staff, very attentive, personable and aim to please,
can set you up with tours, a driver, airport pickup and departure, etc. Can't beat the location and view especially at night (get a balcony room), walking distance to Museum, the square where the revolution took place, the Nile river, Cairo Tower, etc
Breakfast is basic, bread,cheeses, fruit, yogert, a fried egg, coffee, tea; it will fill up and save you money. BTW - The tours and if you need a driver to take you anywhere will cost a lot less if you let Nabil handle it.He has local contacts. I would only caution if you are going to stay longer than seven days or so, you might want to stay at a regular type hotel if you are used to that, otherwise and again I can't stress this enough; you probably won't find a better deal in Cairo for the money, location, view (if you get a balcony room), rooms are very comfortable. Don't let the elevator ride when you first arrive scare you. It seems weird but
works fine. Hostel is on the 12th floor of an office building (top floor) if adventuresome give
it a try - for the money you won't beat it.
On a side note, if you want a nice dinner, etc; with atmosphere there are numerous 4-5

Basic Hotel above it all

This is a basic hotel, far above the noise of Cairo. Not completely above it, but much better than the street level. It is run by a nice family, and if this makes a difference to you, they are Christian. Usually I do not care, but in Muslim Egypt it is nice to give business to a persecuted minority.

If you are looking for a plush environment with all the bells and whistles, go elsewhere. However if you want a basic, affordable, centrally located hotel this is it.

Close to the center and above it all

We checked into the Osiris after spending a night at La Passages on the night we arrived and the Mena House by the pyramids.

This is a nice mid range budget hotel. The rooms we got were big, comfortable but not plush. The breakfast was good and the owners and ankle biter sized dogs warm and welcoming.

This is the kind of hotel I love, no frills, no one standing wanting to help me do all the things I prefer to do myself, and reasonably priced.

The other two hotels were good for what I wanted from them, first a place spitting distance from the airport to crash and burn after a 24 hour trip getting to Cairo, and the second a luxury, historic hotel to make my wife happy.

I highly recommend this hotel if you like basic travel and are not into the 'jet set' style of travel.

Close to the museum...that's about it.

The Cairo Museum is walkable and there are a variety of shops and restaurants around, but the place itself leaves something to be desired. The two men who run the place smoke throughout the day, and this seeps from the main area into the rooms. The laundry was extremely expensive and as I gave them the laundry and asked how much, he said, 'cheap'. Though it was back quickly, we ended up getting charged around $30 USD, which seems crazy for about 2 small loads. The smoke and the expensive laundry and the nonworking internet (which was later fixed) were all complaints, but the hotel did organize our driver to and from the airport, and he ended up being our guide. The driver was incredible and he made our Cairo experience so much better! The owners also let us check in early after an overnight flight, which was really nice.

One of the best budget hotels in Cairo

I had a great welcome after being met at the airport. I had a nice, clean, light and cool room with a balcony. Breakfast was adequate but not inspiring. The hotel represented excellent value for money combined with traditional Egyptian hospitality. Do not be put off by the awful lift which takes you to the top floor (#12) where the hotel is.

Entrance is nor very apellative. After the shock because if the elevator, you find a pleasant environment in a silence location, some rare issue in Cairo

La relación calidad-precio es muy buena para El Cairo. Viajaba con mis dos hijos, de cuatro y nueve años, y la estancia fue cómoda también para ellos. La ubicación es muy práctica: el GPS la marca con precisión y, aunque el tráfico en la ciudad es intenso, hay muchas tiendas y servicios alrededor. Actualmente están realizando algunas mejoras en las instalaciones, lo que puede generar algo de ruido durante el día, pero por la noche se descansa muy bien. A unos diez minutos a pie se encuentran opciones como McDonald’s y KFC, además de restaurantes locales, lo que facilita mucho la estancia.

Buona ubicazione, vicino a Piazza Tahrir, in pieno centro. Personale cordiale, gentile e affidabile. La struttura è un po’ datata, ma le camere sono ampie e pulite, così come il bagno. Colazione locale (150 LE) con una vista spettacolare sulla città: l’hotel si trova infatti al dodicesimo piano, cosa che contribuisce anche ad attutire i rumori del traffico. Volendo è possibile anche cenare. I prezzi contenuti (41 USD per una camera tripla) lo rendono una scelta da considerare. Nessuna sorpresa negativa. L’albergo, inoltre, offre tour di ogni tipo.

Hôtel bien placé à prix très convenable

Hôtel au 12 eme et dernier étage d’un immeuble. Demander chambre avec vue sur la ville, terrasse. Personnel obligeant, sympa. Bonne literie. Petits déjeuners très, très copieux pris sur la terrasse. . Nettoyage du sol pas systématique entre deux occupants.
