This is a nice facility conveniently located on the peninsula. The women who checked us in was extremely helpful - answering questions and even going over a map with me. We enjoyed the restaurant she recommended. The room was spacious and had a nice view of the mountains. There was a TV which was unusual in Iceland. The hot water was great and water pressure good. The bed was comfortable. Parking was fine. i recommend this facility

Lodging options in this area are limited, so we really appreciated the convenience of how close Kirkjufell Guesthouse is to key attractions. Having access to a kitchen and fresh coffee in the morning was also convenient and made our stay better. The beds are not the most comfortable, but we were so exhausted from sightseeing that it didn't impact our sleep at all. The location is beautiful and I appreciated having a deck and living room as well.

The location of this guesthouse is beautiful, especially when it’s not too windy or rainy. It is right outside of the small town of Grundarfjörður. The town is very, very small but there is a grocery store with limited hours that had pretty much all I needed. The kitchen is very well equipped and quite convenient.
As it is known in Iceland, be mindful of the wind, I felt it particularly strong at this location but the insulation in the apartment is outstanding as well as heating.
This is not a luxury stay, this is a convenient stay. All that said, I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately, we found ourselves in a difficult situation due to severe weather. The snow had disrupted traffic, and when it was time to check out, we were unable to move our car because of the accumulation. They had arranged for snow clearing later in the day (around 14:00), while our check-out was at 11:00.
Thankfully, they also run a guest house and kindly allowed us to stay there for a couple of hours while waiting for the storm to pass, which we really appreciated.
Overall, a very positive experience despite the weather challenges.

This place was spotless. It is a few kilometers out of town but only a kilometer from a walk to a water fall. The main building has all the rooms off of the common areas which can be great for groups. The kitchen has everything from a coffee machine to an oven. Most of the furnishings are from IKEA making things feel familiar. They have fresh coffee and coffee pods. There is ample parking and if you don’t want to cook it is an easy drive into town where there are a couple of restaurants. I would stay here again.

This property was beautiful and scenic! You look right out at Kirkjufell and can see multiple stunning waterfalls from the property. The room was huge with two bedrooms, a living room/kitchen and a big bathroom. The only thing is the room was hot! When we got there the heat was turned high (in August) and we weren’t able to cool it down enough to make sleeping comfortable. I would recommend this guesthouse- I think the heat situation was maybe just an unfortunate mistake.

Beautiful, spacious room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a view of Kirkjufell with 2 gazing chairs. The window shades did not completely cover the long daylight, but we managed and the room made up for that.
There were several loud groups who arrived into the evening, making it a noisy environment until 10 pm on the night we were there, and the same was true in the morning, since one of those groups took over the kitchen. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.

This is a great location if you are planning to kayak around Mt. Kirkjufell. The rooms are spacious and there is a shared kitchen with all amenities & fresh coffee in the AM.

There were 5 bedrooms with a shared kitchen/eating area. Most of the other guests were quiet in the morning but you need to prepare for this common cooking space - most people were making their own breakfast right outside our room.

The rooms are around an inner area that has the two kitchen blocks and seating for dining. Very nice and convenient. Enough outlets next to the bed. Everything is new and in excellent working condition. There is even a dishwasher. Coffee for the coffee maker is provided as well as filters. The property is a little outside of town and has great views. Highly recommend and would go again. Most convenient accommodation of our Iceland trip.
