This property has an excellent location. Our suite was lovely, well appointed and quiet. We would recommend staying here. The staff were very helpful going beyond securing a dinner reservation for us in a very busy night.

The service was good. There should have been more facilities operating. As we observed the bar was unattended and no dining room staff in sight although there was a food truck outside. the bed was small, lumpy and difficult to sleep with two large people.The route to the room was circutious and difficult.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing two night stay at Maison Otis. Our very clean room had a king size bed, was very spacious and well appointed.

In just a few steps we were outside the hotel to the main downtown area, which has many shops, art galleries and a wide variety of dining options. The location couldn't be any more convenient! We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant at the hotel as well.

Parking was also very convenient, with our car just outside the rear entrance of the building.

The manager Guylaine is a very sweet kind lady who spent a considerable amount of time making sure that we were informed of what local attractions, including a tourist information centre were available to us.

We highly recommend Maison Otis and would not hesitate to return!

It was a nice property. Easy to get to, very bland on the inside. The rooms were loud and echoey and very bright. There was shampoo available only two conditioners and there was only decaf coffee available in the coffee station.

This property was well located in the town of Baie St-Paul but there was no guidance to the \"autonomous stay\". We had to sneak around the closets to find clean towels for the second day of our stay and no one answered the \"urgent line\" for help. We would expect room cleaning service for the price paid.

Worst hotel ever! Worst 2 night stay ever! Our confirmation said we would receive an email 24 hours before check in giving us an outer door access code (as there is no registration desk). We didn’t get one. We had to get it from a guest who happened to be coming out. We found our key card at the restaurant attached but independent of the hotel. We found toilet paper in the toilet when we entered our room and the toilet would not flush. The maid either had no means of fixing it after the previous guests or she didn’t bother cleaning it. We called the “emergency” phone number 4 times with zero response. The gracious proprietor seemed to have access to the old registration desk so she gave us a new room. However when we returned from dinner, the key card wouldn’t work. Fortunately the restaurant proprietor was still there and recoded it. The next morning we left for breakfast, planning a driving day. After breakfast we returned to our room- the key card again wasn’t functioning and this time the restaurant proprietor wasn’t there (her restaurant was closed for 2days). We called the emergency line again numerous times to no avail. We left for the day without maps and jackets. We came back early hoping to find someone to let us in and luckily the restaurant proprietor was cleaning her place and recoded the key. There had been no maid service. We put all of our belongings in the car before going for dinner for fear we couldn’t get back in. Hotel management still hasn’t responded.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre suite très bien aménagée et jolie. C'est un endroit paisible qui favorise le sommeil. La Maison Otis est située en plein coeur de la ville, et tout est donc facilement accessible. Par contre, dans la publicité, il faudrait signaler qu'il n'y a pas d'ascenseur et que les couloirs sont longs pour une personne handicapée. L'absence de réception n'est pas très pratique.

We had a small room and only one chair for the two of us. The place had been nicely decorated but with some flaws. A very large bathroom with no counter. There is a place where a table could be put so that guests can put their wash bags, etc. No desk either. But perfect location. Close to so many art galleries, restaurants, main streets.

AIR B AND B NOT a HOTEL!!!

This is an air B and B NOT a hotel. There is no reception and the only staff is the cleaning staff (they are quite friendly) there is no elevator so you have to carry heavy bags up notoriously high stairs to the second floor if you are staying in a suite. There are no phones in the room so you cannot call for room service or other services. The room was clean and very well cared for

Our two nights at Maison Otis contrasted sharply with one another. The first night we were thrilled with the room -- an extremely spacious room on the first floor, close to the parking lot, with a king bed, as requested.

Unfortunately, there was a problem with the air conditioner unit, and we were moved to the far end of the hotel. We had to lug our furniture up a long flight of stairs and cart it down several (about four) long, dark, and dimly-lit hallways, including a few more stairs -- to the farthest possible end of the building from the parking. The second room felt small and cramped and had what felt like a double bed. It was a major letdown and disappointment, and I was quite unhappy with the change. I was glad we were not scheduled to stay longer.

Very nice accocombo lockmodations. However there is no staffed reception area. We did not receive the instructions re: key pickup. We were given instructions as to where the key was but it is a confusing entry procedure. The entry door is at the back of the building next door. the door has a keypad to get in. We asked a couple of times before finding the door. Our room was up a 21 step flight of stairs and through several hallways back to the main building. Had the reception in the main building been opened the acces would have been much better. The room was lovely and very clean and quiet .

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were told there would not be staff on the property so would have to call for an entry code. Everytime we tried it said “ push for English” which we did and then the line went dead. We ended up calling Expedia and after an hour and a half was given the code to the front door. We discovered that there was also an entrance in the back. We had to carry our luggage up many stairs and found the door could be opened with no security code. The halls were dirty and dark , the room smelt very stale and there was food on the floor and the balcony unkempt.

The hotel was closed when we arrive d--and I mean CLOSED. All of the businesses were aware that it was not taking guests AT ALL! But they did send me an email the next day telling me that they had processed my payment! Had to find alternate lodging.

What a find! We booked last minute and couldn't have been happier with our experience. This boutique hotel is a beautifully renovated building in the centre of Bais St Paul. Our room was large, with an anti-room, plenty of different seating options, included a very comfortable king-size bed, and gorgeous art on the walls. The included continental breakfast was perfect. Honestly, this hotel has spoiled us for future stays elsewhere. Definitely worth booking.

Baie-St-Paul was great, and Maison Otis is right in the heart of it. Nice town with great stores, cafes, and restaurants, and the hiking nearby is fantastic. While we enjoyed the room and location, and staff were friendly, unfortunately someone entered our suite both mornings we stayed there, while we were in the room (apparently due to a misdirected delivery the first morning, and a handyman the second morning). The room entry is via code entry, and can’t be additionally deadbolt locked. I brought this up with front desk, and while they said it was a communication issue, there seems to be a casual approach to entering guest suites that needs to be corrected.

A éviter hors saison...Aucun bon restaurand ouvert à 40 km à la ronde. Hotel vide, aucun upgrade de chambre offert (même après 3 séjours en moins d'un an). Le lit double était une paillasse trop petite. Le déjeuner offerts étaient plus que ordinaire. Les paysages de Chalevoix sont toujours aussi sublime mais plus jamais hors saison. Tu manges mal en simonac à Baie St-Paul hors saison..

The suite was clean however the bathroom had mould all around the shower and dripped. Shower bar was loose. It was evident the mould had been there a while. On positive side. Very quite and great location. Just disappointed given it is a boutique hotel and on higher end per night.

Maison Otis Apartment stay

We had a little apartment rather than a traditional hotel room, which was above the outdoor terrace of a restaurant. It wasn't a bad stay but you do need to lug your bags up a flight of stairs and there is no housekeeping. It does come with a free continental breakfast (croissant, cheese, yogurt & fruit etc) and the staff is pleasant.

The room was good but the air conditioning system was not working well. The unit was turning on and off every few minutes and the room was always hot.
We were in the newer pavilion and the smell in the hallways was terrible. There is a kitchen on the main floor and we went in and the smell was awful.
Breakfast was O.K. but boring after 2 days.

Our stay at Maison Otis was so fabulous. It is the sweetest boutique hotel in Baie Saint Paul. We were welcomed warmly, congratulated our 20th anniversary and made to feel very special.
The hotel smells beautiful, the bedroom was absolutely spotless, the sheets were crisp, the bed very comfortable. A wonderful stay from start to finish including the beautiful European breakfast that is provided every morning. We will definitely be staying there again upon our next visit.

Quaint but Expensive!

The stay was nice. Although I didn’t understand the fact that they said no one would be cleaning our room because of COVID-19 virus. Yet when we were gone someone certainly entered our room because freshener was sprayed. My opinion is that they use COVID 19 virus excuse so that they keep their operational expenses low by not hiring people to clean the rooms. We stayed 4 nights and the garbage bins were full. I would hate to see the condition of the room after one week. Also we stayed in other hotels and they cleaned our room daily.

It was a really nice surprise staying at this Hotel. I booked it for the excellent quality/price but from the moment we entered till the moment we left we were treated like royalty.

I want to thank specially Simon. On our second day, we woke up late and the breakfast buffet service was done. When he saw my wife and I arrived, he managed to make us a nice breakfast service. He is really people friendly and a nice addition to the hotel team.

Also, Laurie at the front desk was really helpful with booking our stuff and got us quickly on our way to enjoy our ski day.

This hotel, is newly renovated and the rooms are really big. We can feel that they want it this hotel to feel like a home away from home and they really did a good job.

This hotel is well located. Its a waking distance from all the good restaurants in the area.

Warm Hearts in the Cold North

Upon arrival, my friend and I were greeted by Denis, a charming man who made us feel comfortable and at ease and even did some excellent magic tricks while we chatted (wonderful fun!). The room was unique and quite beautiful as each guest room is used to exhibit the original art work of local artists. The entire building has ben recently refurbished in a warm and cozy style with injects of graphic art placed through out the building that raise the effect from a nice country inn to something really special. The staff were all lovely and accommodated my requests gladly, I didn't get everyone's name, but truly, in my 2 nights there all employees I interacted with were FANTASTIC! I will be returning!
