After a very long day of travel, we arrived an hour before check in. The elderly lady at the front desk told us we can check in as per our reservation. No discussion of a possibility of checking in an hour early. Never seen this at any hotel. She didn’t even check to see if our room was made up. Also, they don’t clean at all if you stay for 3 days or a week. That’s a little disappointing. They also advertise a mini fridge but there was none in our room. They did eventually put one in for us.

Nous avons apprécié la belle vue, le personnel accueillant et la propreté de la chambre.

Par contre, plusieurs éléments ont nui à notre expérience :
•L’insonorisation est très mauvaise – on entendait les voisins tousser, parler et même leur cadran.
•Le matelas était en fin de vie : il bougeait comme un lit d’eau au moindre mouvement.
•Et surtout, en plein été, la piscine extérieure était fermée, tout comme le restaurant, en raison d’un manque de personnel. Cela a été vraiment embêtant.

Un beau potentiel, mais plusieurs aspects devraient être améliorés pour que l’expérience soit à la hauteur du prix.

The staff was welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was magnificent!
We had a dinner reservation for over a month, but we were informed, when we got there, that the restaurant was closed that night. Never received a phone call to be notified. That was very disappointing for us as we had planned to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a nice meal at the restaurant.
The staff gave us a good recommendation of another restaurant where we could eat dinner and we enjoyed an excellent meal.

Not worth the price

First room we were given had not been made (seemed like it had started to get cleaned up but stopped in the middle of it). Second room didn't have any coffee pods in it (again, something that should have been there but cleaning crew forgot). Rooms need an update; the lamp looked like it was going to fall on us, the toilet seat was partly broken. Morning staff was unable to tell us when the outside pool was going to open for the day. They had to message the pool guy to know when he was coming in and \"hope he wasn't still sleeping\"?! Nothing against the reception staff, but management should definitely think of a better plan. A weekly schedule perhaps?
The view is incredible. But we won't be going back, the price is too high considering all those irritants

Very beautiful location! I had a room with a view on the water which was so nice. The service was very nice, the room was very clean and had all the amenities I needed. I had a good sleep and woke up to a beautiful view of the river.

The room smelled strongly of mildew/mold. Definitely a humid room, which makes sense since it's on the first floor (motel area) and close to the water I guess, but still unpleasant. I would perhaps suggest booking a room in the hotel or on a higher floor to avoid this issue.

I would still recommend to stay at this hotel! I enjoyed my stay.

La vue est magnifique. On respire la tranquilité. Il y a beaucoup d'activités (jeux) dehors et à l'intérieur, incluant une piscine intérieure et une autre à l'extérieur (chauffée). Quelques fois, il y a des chansonniers pour agrémenter les soirées de fins de semaine. Deux restos dont un gastronomique et une pizzeria haut de gamme.

Check in was quick and easy and the grounds face the St. Lawrence with spectacular views. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the beds comfortable. I travelled with a handicapped person who had a difficult time getting around. The \"motel\" side of the Hotel was not as quiet, you could hear your neighbors. Overall it was a great experience.

Beautiful views and nice wait staff. The property is listed as a hotel but it’s a lodge and motel combination and not in great shspe. It lists AC but the rooms and dining room didn’t have AC. The only place with AC on the whole property was the office.

I have to say that we were misled into thinking that this hotel was near La Pocatière, QC. It is not!! It is across the river and, unless you have your own boat, you are going to have to drive back to Quebec City to get there from La Pocatière! I have rechecked hotels.com to see if I missed that bit of information. No, I didn't. The hotel is on an island. We arrived to get the car ferry at 10 pm but had to wait until 11:30 pm for the ferry. Loooong day!
On another note, the woman who greeted us near midnight was kind and accommodating. Our room was lovely and comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast in the dining room the next morning. Beautiful view of the St. Lawrence.

The room 328 shower has no water pressure. This need to be check and review.
Breakfast: We decided to take the breakfast buffer for 4x and we did a mistake of not checking first. Quality for us was very under standard. Eggs without taste, crepe swimming in condensate milk, cereal choice very slim, etc... so basically, paying over $100 CAD (for 4x) is not realistic and quality need a major upgrade. Keurig coffee in the room was a plus.

Booked in the motel section, was attracted as it had a pool and a few other features that my daughter would enjoy. The pool could have been cleaner, magnific view though. The rooms were updated and clean. Did not try the restaurant as it looked sad. Did not see the interior pool. It was fun to play mini-putt and shuffle board - needs new material. Overall ok, but not cheap. Loved the island.

Vue magnifique de dehors, fenetre de 2x3 dans la chambre. On se sent pris. Salles de bain des années 30. Lits matelas confos. Restaurant cher. Feu de foyer super avec vue sur l'eau. Préposé de la piscine a mis 3 gallons d'Algicide... devrait avoir une formation. M. Le concierge génial nous a apporté des couvertures au feu wow. Hotel propre. Salle de jeu bien équipée ping pong, babyfoot..Avec famille on aurait du prendre le Motel.

we chose an hotel for the comfort it normally provides but we got stuck in the motel rooms: very small room, no fridge, no air conditioning. not impressive for the 175 $/night price. it would have been ok at 75 to 100$ /night.

the restaurant was ok.

aside from that, nice location, quiet. good view of the sea.

The place is is well situated, you have a beautiful view of the river and even though some of the rooms don't face it, it's just a two minute walk around the building and you can see it. The area is well kept and clean. The main building is quite rustic looking, with a very clean reception area. The parking area for the motel area, which is away from the main building, might be considered a distance for those who may have some mobility problems.

We asked to eat our breakfast outside on the beautiful balcony and we were told that we could not. We were forced to eat in the dinning room which was loud and felt like a nursing home.

Would not stay here again. Hôtel reserves the worst roorms for those booking online and not directly with hôtel. We were given a motel room, no air conditioninh, facing road. We required fans supplied by hôtel as we were in a Heat save. Full of cigarette buts where we sar in front of hotél to enjoy à Nice view. Would rec Staying in baie St Paul Instead after visiting the island. We stayed the following night at the Anchrage, superbe with a great breakfast included and in a perfect location.

We booked this hotel last minute and as a bit of a last resort as it was out of the way. The ferry ride across is short and free, but there is a wait to get on. The main building looks impressive. Our room was in one of the side motel units which has seen better days. While it was clean, the floor was not level and the walls were thin. I would stay at this hotel again, however it would have to be in the main building.

Good island location but be prepared to pay.

The hotel is OK except for the small rooms lacking amenities and very noisy air conditionner. We visited at the end of September, spending three nights there just outside the busy season. Arriving on a Thursday PM, the dining room and bar were closed and were told to go somewhere else if we wanted to eat. I suspect a lack of manpower to be the cause. The island has become a tourist trap since I visited last 50 years ago. Everything there is expensive, mostly the meals which are ordinary but at 2-star Michelin prices. A one night stay on a weekend recommended as very little service is available during the week outside the main tourist season. Do not stay on the top floor as the heat from the roof will make it very hot all day long.

Overlall, clean but dated. Stiff bed, clean but very dated bathroom, game room and pool downstairs a time warp from the 70s. Restaurant looks nice, but too expensive so we dined elsewhere. Definitely not an off-season kind of place - would recommend only for the summer.

We said no, because or our hotel room. They gave us the little rooms beside of the hotel. It did not smell good nor fresh, it smelled like old, moist, the bed setting did not smell fresh, it smelled like moist. The carpet and the drapes smelled also. There was a small television, no fridge no microwave oven, no air conditioner, not enough lights. We would not recommend these little rooms to anyone. Health wise carpets and drapes are the worst dirt collector. Even if you wash them it's still not healthy and they will still smell awful. The washroom to small. The floors are not straight.

a 50's style resort on a remote Canadian island

a very laid back, relaxing location, on a island in the middle of the St Lawrence river about 1 1/2 hours north of Quebec City. This is an old style country resort, reminding us of the Catskills a la the movie Dirty Dancing, but with an excellent gourmet chef / restaurant. Comfortable, simple pleasures and a very nice place for a no pressure getaway.
