When we arrived they had already given our room to someone else, so we had to wait around while they gave us a room even though we already paid. Then, the door wouldn’t open and we had to go back down. The kitchen in the suite had no utensils, dishes, or cooking materials. The floor had crumbs all over it and was clearly not well cleaned. There was some weird bandaid thing with a red substance on it stuck to the wall, and the water in the bathroom smelled terrible. The hallway also smelled really musty.

I stayed four nights and was very happy with this property. Excellent location for access to Medora, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Very clean, good breakfast, very nice staff! A few minor issues...no full-length mirror in the room, and no iron and ironing board. Also, the main hotel door isn't very handy for guests with full hands...there should at least be a button to push for ease of door-opening. I spoke to the manager about these things...just in conversation, not complaining. He offered good answers. Definitely recommend this hotel!

The staff was amazing but our room not so much. There was something on the floor, walls, and ceiling that looked weird. Breakfast was good, small amount of hours which kinda sucked because not everyone is that early of a riser. Breakfast was from 6am to 9am. The other thing is that the \"gym\" was just a bunch of equipment in storage room and some of the equipment didn't even work. Some of the key card doors stopped working too

Its an old oilfield hotel. Everything has been rode hard. Hotdogs for breakfast was a first. There was a tornado warning issued, when we asked the front desk they offered no directions to a shelter, just laughed and said they happen all the time. When the sirens went off, luckily there was a bank nearby we were able to go to.

Well, once we got into our room, it had a horrible stench. My daughter cleaned the bathroom and did one swipe around the toilet and the towel was black. I pulled back the sheets on the bed and they had mold stains on one bed and the other was full of pubic hair. Also, there were wrappers between the bed and the night stand that never got picked up!!!!

We stayed at this property on the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. While the property is relatively dated, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. That’s the key factor for me. Other properties in the region were double the cost as this facility. I’d rather save the money for the Steak Fondu in Medora! As far as hotel free breakfast goes, there were decent options and adequate quality. The smoked sausage was good, the eggs were typical scrambled eggs sitting in a bath of water that you see at most hotels. Overall, for the cost, I recommend this hotel.

This hotel looked like they tried to make cosmetic repairs but they cut a lot of corners.

Our bedding was dirty. The toilet did not flush. The bathtub had no drain so would not hold water. Everything looked messy, like the paint sprayed all over the shower head. The elevator was so slow! Highway noise was extremely loud all night.

The scariest part was that our door did not latch. We did not realize this until we left and tested the door.

Some positives: the beds were comfortable, the location was convenient, and the breakfast was good with variety of options.

The front desk person who checked us in was not friendly. He wasn’t rude either but it didn’t feel welcoming.

The rooms lacked washcloths and cutlery & cooking implements. Why have a stove if you can’t cook? We just stayed one night so it wasn’t a big deal for us but I would be frustrated if I was staying longer.

We had reserved 2 rooms for our family, but when we got there they only had 1 room . We waited & finally got a key for 417 but could not get in , went back to manager to fix , back up to 417 with luggage & still didn’t work . Staff came & unlocked but another person was in the room . Manager said would find another room . But in meantime another couple comes in & says booked on Expedia also & the manager gave them a room instead of us. This check in process took 1 & 1/2 hour but still NO room . The manager tells us to call Astoria motel 3 miles away to get a room . Very frustrating, disappointing, disgusted !
We requested a refund on all charges & manager said he would .

The hotel overall was ok, You could tell when you walked in it was an older hotel that had been redone. The lobby area was well worn with cracked tiles and grout that was stained. The area that had breakfast was clean and well stocked, the staff that monitored that area were very helpful and did a good job keeping things stocked. The room was relatively clean and updated. I liked the full sized fridge. A few of the small things, the toilet seat and the faucet in the bathroom were loose and the shower drain was so slow you had a few inches of water in the bottom by the time you finished. There were holes in the wall from various thigs that had been mounted to the wall and never covered. As a whole for the price the room was acceptable.

Pros was a clean room..

Cons, the housekeeping staff tries to barge into your room in the morning at 8:30 am. No knock, just barge in, then proceeds to come back and barge in every 30 mins, when calling the front desk the still don’t listen, and front desk responds you need to request no housekeeping. I was there for one night.

Also front desk is indifferent. Too busy hanging with his friends. Seems like the hotel staff at the time was just incompetent teenagers

Thus hotel was just \"OK\" and not special. Nothing really so wrong or so bad, but just not special. Staff and guests smoke fairly near the front door. There were shovels and bags of ice melt (in June) by this non impressive entry near the smoking oeople. Property has weeds and just doorbell jane curb appeal. This wasn't a great impression! Front desk check in was also just \"OK.\" Later, when we asked for a couple of washcloths (**because there were 3 of us in the room and only 2 washcloths), he said, \"I can give you 1 more. That's it. It's standard to only give you 2.\" Umm, okay. The room was actually quite nice. The free brekfast was nice. It's nice to stay in Dickinson when going to Medora because Medora is expensive. With the Presidental Museum opening up, there will be more and more visitors and more and more competition. I'd say this hotel could do a few small things to make a better impression and then it would be easy to give them another star.

I never leave reviews. I’m pretty easy going, but this place deserves a review.

While my room was decently clean, the rest of the property is a bit of a pigsty. The hallways are nasty, the elevator is dirty, construction materials are all just left around - nothing moved the two nights I was there. To me, the most telling is the piles of junk and empty boxes behind the reception desk. If you’re going to work 40 hours a week in that filth, you probably don’t care about the rest of the building.

Additionally, it currently seems to be more man camp than hotel. VERY noisy!! Doors slamming and lots of clomping around in boots at all hours.

Some good things. Some bad things. The bed was clean and comfortable. The shower was clean and had good water pressure but there were no washcloths. The reception staff was friendly. The condition of the room was poor./unacceptable. There was no door on the bathroom! The bathroom ceiling fan wasn’t functioning and the fan cover plate was removed exposing the fan and wires. Wall plaster was sprayed all over door frames and electrical panel. Not likely to stay there again.

The first room wasn’t prepped and the door was broken. In the second room the floor was dirty, the bath towels were ragged with large holes and the vent fan was inoperative and hanging by a screw.
The breakfast appeared to be good.
The outside was a gathering place for teens and twenties. Definitely not worth the exhorbative rate.

Check in was easy. The room had a comfortable bed, was a nice size/ layout with newer modern appearance. It looks like they are freshening the public spaces up a little from the presence of maintenance people and ladders. My room left a little to be desired in terms of the cleanliness off the floor, it was kind of gritty and the shower still had hair in one of the corners. I didn’t complain about it but I’m sure they would have done something about it if I had. Breakfast was pretty good with the warm dish being biscuit with sausage and gravy. Would stay again.

From the minute we entered the attitude was lackadaisical. Staff was in t-shirt and baggy pants. You couldn't tell if they were staff. The elevator repairman, who also works the desk in the morning was walking around barefoot. When I mentioned the unprofessional attire, I was told I should be more professional. When we got to our room, the lock didn't work on the door, my husband was able to jiggle and push it enough to lock. Trim was missing from the walls, and around the tub. Fan did not work. We booked a King bed and got a Queen. When husband took bell cart back to lobby, which was in such poor condition that it squealed very loudly, he was told that we got a Queen because housekeeping was terrible and there were no King room available. Nice, blame housekeeping. Did I mention poor professionalism? Oh, the condition of the hotel disrepair; was blamed on the contractor hired to update hotel from a year ago!!! Front Desk claimed the contractor never came back to correct issues. We checked out the next day, and went to stay somewhere else. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

I’ll give it straight. Staff tried to be somewhat helpful but there’s a Laundry list of things that make this one of the worst hotels I’ve been to. Toilet didn’t flush in first room. Moved us to another room. Tub didn’t drain, faucet handle pulled right off and was unusable, half used soap bar stuffed under a cup (no other soap in room). No shampoo or conditioner in the room. Seemed pretty hotel maintenance 101 if you ask me.

Particularly hot food serving area. Need multiple serving utensil holders rather than one. Sausage gravy all over handles and counter.
So hard to spread hard butter.

The guy at the front desk was rude to me but was better behaved after my husband showed up. The TV didn't work and the guy at the front desk switched out the cable box but we still had to adjust it several more times. When I opened the curtain, we faced the AC unit and a small maintaince walkway between the roof lines (we were on the 2nd floor) and it had trash and debris scattered around. The grounds outside the hotel were not mowed and full of dandelions. The room was fairly clean but the edges of the floor in the bathroom could use some attention.
