The staff was the best part of the visit. The inn looks like it has not changed since 1950. The first room I went to had such a noisy air conditioner that I asked if I could move. I was moved to a room with stained carpet. I think the place is kept as clean as it can be but a major renovation is needed

Old, but quiet room. Just a motor lodge on the side of the highway, but quiet at night as no one drives that road after dark. But very reasonably priced. And a super convenient short walk into the super cute village of Poulsbo! So we’d stay here again!

I’ve stayed here several times throughout the years. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. One of the things I really enjoy is the rooms have a country type feel to them. Bonus are the hot tub and pool; pool is seasonal. I wouldn’t say the following is a negative but I wish they still had the biscuits and gravy, assorted breads and muffins and waffles for breakfast in the morning. They’ve cut it back to bagels, coffee, and juice. Great place to stay though!

I was up here for a wedding and had never been to Poulsbo. Was planning to stay only one night. Since I was going to see a lot of family hadn't seen in awhile, I decided to add a day. I called the office and the friendly, upbeat woman I spoke with got me the same room for both days. Came in to check in and the friendly, upbeat gentleman with the cool long hair, quickly got me checked in and even got my card to work both days. Cookie was good too!! Room was really clean and cozy. The towels were creatively displayed and easy to access everything. Fridge was cold too; I had drinks. Quick walk to the Brass Kraken (very cool place and great staff) to meet up with family and their friends. Loved the atmosphere of the town. Like Newport but still its own place. The place was quiet at night too.

Saturday morning I came in to officially check in on Expedia, like it was explained to me, and the woman (also friendly and upbeat and happy to learn new stuff), who was newer there, handled it no problem and had help from others just in case!! They were all happy to help and also friendly.

Everything was great!! Security worked too. Kid tried to open my door Sat morn and their security card didn't let them in. Loved the rustic atmosphere and style; especially with the Viking history of the city. Was too busy to use the hot tub and pool, but saw others enjoy it.

Will definitely use this place next time I'm here if not my destination! Short drive to Heronswood Garden. Perfect!!

We found out an hour or so after our check in that their was a continuous barking dog in the room next door. Contacted the front desk and they said they'd handle it (by calling the room). Didn't do anything as their eas no one in the room. About 2 hours after. When the occupants of the room returned, the barking stopped.
Next night...same thing. Occupants left, dog started barking non-stop, until the owners returned about 3 hours later. We again contacted the front desk, twice, and again they said they'd call the room (unoccupied) at the times.
Totally unsatisfactory. Doubt we'll stay there again!

Only a couple issues with the property. When I arrived I asked if there was a ground floor room but was told there wasn't one available. Our room key didn't work so I had to go back to the main office and the person checking in was given a ground floor room. After they programed the key again but still didn't work, I was told the door needed to be repaired and then was given a ground floor room. The door didn't seal all the way and so bugs were also in the room.

Ratings are a challenge. If rated against other drive in motor hotels (think old school motels), this place is immaculate; no complaints or shortcomings.

However, clearly no elevated experience is to be had here or any any comparable property. For a motor lodge, you cannot go wrong here. Nothing offends, just as nothing will wow or woo you.

Clean, dry, and serviceable as we used to say in the USAF.

This hotel is always a great stay. This was the first time we had an issue. I went to the breakfast area to make a bagel for my son and one of the managers was completing the hiring process for a few employees seated at the eating tables. I overhead the manager talking about waiving the 30 minute break and audit implications and telling the new hires that they could take a 10 minute break if they needed it in their car or wherever they wanted. The manager went on to say that if 30 minute break was really needed it could be taken and at one point there was a comment about signing out. I was just trying to toast my bagel and put some cream cheese on it for my son but it was impossible not to overhear the conversation. To me it felt really unfair as I don’t think these new hires could say anything otherwise to these comments because they were accepting the job. When I left I asked a room cleaner about it and she said yes it is a labor practice issue but then said she likes working here very much and her boss is great. I asked because I really like the staff here and I was hoping I was just confused about what I thought I was hearing. Upon check out the manger in a very aggressive manner showed me the law about how an employee can waive their rights. I let her know my concern was that her new hires might not feel comfortable speaking their mind. She responded by saying they would feel comfortable and that she mentioned that aspect in the very early hiring stage too. She went o

Loud and uneven heating/cooling. Location is good. Overall it is still a value, but the sleep experience, bathroom fixtures, decor could use a refresh.
