Lovely stay in the centre of Cagliari
This was a lovely hotel conveniently located in the centre of Cagliari with the port, restaurants and public transport all nearby. The rooms were comfortable with AC, a fridge, decent wardrobe space and a modern bathroom. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, with lots of options (including local biscuits and pastries), and good coffee. The staff were very kind and on hand to answer any questions. We would happily stay here again.

Not as good the second time
Second stay at this hotel, service is always 5 star. Although this time our room had a few ants in it, and the toilet seat kept getting stuck to the lid. The pillows were uncomfortable and the room has no way to control the fan speed of the AC.

The Regina Margherita was an exceptional place. My wife and I have travelled all over the world for business and pleasure over the past 55 years and have stayed in all sorts of accommodations. The RM would be in our top 10! The staff was incredibly helpful. They even put up with my sloppy Italian language skills. The room was perfect for us and the hotel’s location is perfect for appreciating all the city’s history and present culture. We are native San Franciscans and Cagliari reminded us a lot of home. The hotel and the city are something you should not miss

We have mixed feelings about this hotel. On one hand, as a 4-star structure, it felt underwhelming. On the other hand, there are not big faults, just a few improvements. The room had a window opening basically on a wall, not the best even though it did not matter as we only had to sleep before an early flight. It was clean and big enough but floor panels needed some maintenance. Also, A/C is very effective but a bit noisy. The bed was really comfortable. We did not feel really comfortable with the person at the front desk we talked to when requesting the morning alarm. He had an attitude we did not like and found him not being very professional. Moreover, they are not very proactive when dealing with information, you have to ask all the details yourself as they seem to just reply to the specific questions. Overall it's a nice place, but I am pretty sure I won't choose it again.

We could not check in 1 minute early so we dropped off the luggage and returned after 230pm. he place is a terrific location. The room is lovely. Breakfast doesn’t start until 730 which is a little late when you have to catch a morning flight.

Very pleased, overall. Location - on the main street that leads to/from the marina area. Walking distance to a range of restaurants, ranging from Michelin starred or pizzerias. Also walking distance to the botanical gardens (Orto Botanico di Cagliari) and the Roman Amphitheatre of Cagliari. Comfort - nice clean room and bed. Only complaint is that the hotel turned off the air conditioning system, and the room was always warm. Food/drink - we enjoyed the hotel bar. It has a great wine list with very fair prices. The staff went provided excellent service, and we enjoyed several bottles of wine in the bar/lounge area. If in Cagliari again, I'd gladly stay here.

Very good location near the castle area and excellent undergroubd parking available, which is a major plus because parking in the city centre is a big hassle. Overall, a very good, business-like hotel. The only compliant we have is that the cleaning crews begin early in the morning and are very loud, so those of you planning to sleep late may be annoyed.

A nice corporate hotel in a good location in the centre of Cagliari. The main advantage is that this hotel has free (if limited) parking which is a necessity in this city. The hotel is nicely decorated (if a little bland) and the staff were reasonably helpful. A good breakfast with a wider selection each day. We used this as a base to visit the surrounding area. Poetto beach is a ten minute drive away and the water was warm when we went there. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. A good base if you are intending to visit the local area.

Hotel is ok, rooms aren’t as small as some other reviews made out, especially the bathroom, if you need a large room you should probably go for a suite. It was fine for two friends on a short break. Not particularly modern but also not full of Italian charm. Sardinia, however was wonderful. DO NOT take a taxi to or from the airport it is literally 18 minutes away from the hotel by train including a leisurely walk and time to faff with the ticket machines.. grab gelato at Peter Pan on either side of the journey.

The tea and coffee making facilities that were supposed to be in the room were missing. they did provide us with a kettle, although no cups,tea or coffee etc. We did get them eventually. Air con worked but wasn't great. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice although they do not seem to replenish the hot items, bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages once they have gone. Free WiFi kept cutting out and was really slow. We still enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 8 days and hotel staff was excellent. Rooms are small but well maintained and everyone was very accommodating. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to great restaurants, local sites and a beautiful marina where we went for a run each morning. We will definitely be coming back!

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the marina and main shopping streets, off Via Roma, and located on an incline. There is a good variety of restaurants nearby and a fantastic gelateria at the bottom of the road (PeterPan's!) While it does cater for tourists, it is more of a 'business' hotel with limited amenities (no gym, pool or gardens) but very good free wi-fi access and on-site parking. There is a shady veranda at the front of the hotel with comfortable chairs but it is on a main road so not particularly quiet. Staff were polite and helpful and rooms were clean and spacious, albeit with limited storage and only one English-speaking television channel (BBC World). Breakfast included a selection of cereals, pastries, bread, cold meats, cheeses, fruit and yoghurts with cooked food being restricted to bacon, sausage and scrambled/ boiled eggs although this was more than adequate. The breakfast room was disappointing, having no eye-level windows or views, and the hotel would benefit from using its main dining room for breakfasts, as well as evening meals, due to its suoerior location within the hotel and its light and airy atmosphere. There was a tourist information representative based in the hotel who was very helpful on advising where to visit and organising excursions. It was suggested that visitors need to rent a car for exploring beyond the city, as public transport for longer journeys was not recommended. The beach, however, was only a 15 minute bus ride away.

An excellent choice: modern, spacious and clean rooms with all amenities. The location is just steps from all the restaurants, bars and shopping in the old town as well as the Citadel and the museums. The hotels's underground parking is also most welcome.
