Lovely hotel very reasonable priced. Excellent location with free parking in large lot at back of hotel. No issues whatsoever. Perfect location for beach clubs and short walk to centre. Large very clean rooms. Dated furniture but absolutely charming. Everything worked well and will stay again. Amazing value for money given location and free parking and breakfast

Fantastic. Clearly this the the most modern and luxurious hotel in San Remo about 50 years ago. since then it has been well maintained, but not really modernised much. The food was fab, the pool great and the pool side bar/restaurant top class. Really top class, but a bit old fashioned - which is fine if you don't want the latest guff.

The view and staff make this place what it is. Waking up to waves crashing on the beach and the beautiful views of the riviera are awesome. Everything you need is walking distance, from shopping, dining and that historic hike through old town.

Faded glory. We enjoyed imagining the marble staircase hidden by the cheap imitation wood Lino and then imagining the beautiful cocktail bar and piano room, had it been open. The dining room was stunning, but the breakfast was less than ordinary. A glimpse into a lost past.

Dissapointing stay in overrated resort
This hotel one of those resting on past glories. On a noisy, busy street the hotel was modernised in the 50s so not quite the Belle Epoque grandeur expected. It is also a 40 minute walk to the dismal underground train station in Sanremo. Outdoor pool was shut (opens 1st June) and sunbathing area closed off despite it being 82 degrees and other hotels having theirs open. Breakfast was also dissapointing and nothing special.

This is a wonderful grand old hotel that hadn't changed much from the 30's. If you want history...you've got it. With that, comes some downsides. The wooden parquet flooring along with lack of modern day insulation means you are at the mercy of your neighbours waking hours. The road is also very busy and noisy ruling the pool out for relaxing. That said, really enjoyed our stay...staff were amazing, a short walk from a gorgeous beach and the lovely town. Would definitely visit again (as long as top floor guaranteed!!)

Old grand hotel in reasonable condition, in need of a few upgrades but in the whole nice staff, good break fast comfortable beds pool and bars good. Room 118 has no wifi so if you need don’t ask them as they can’t or won’t fix , rest if the place has good wifi . Lower rooms a little noisy overhead good bathrooms .

It was an experience and not for everyone. I will never forget these 2 nights at Grand hotel Londra. You will need alot of humour and good spirits (no pun intended-this is an OLD hotel) to love this dusty once diamond.

Not so Grand anymore ? The hotel is very dated and needs a makeover. Some parts are very tatty and untidy. Shower is terrible with panels stuck to edge of bath. Breakfast was very nice. Staff were nice. Great location but traffic noise out front is so loud especially when coaches full of people turn up. We had 3 coaches full of people arrive at same time so the front of the hotel was mayhem ?

A lovely large old hotel overlooking sea in San Remo. It was obviously very grand in it's day. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the pool area. Room was a good size and lots of toiletries provided in bathroom.

The hotel is of a grand style but is now just faded grandeur. The rooms are acceptable but a superior with a sea view - had the view but the room was squished in a corner. The air conditioning did not work even at maximum. The work area was a tiny desk with a battered chair. The bath has a shower fitted over it - no idea how it could be described as a rainfall shower. In addition the restaurant was closed and the pool was not open after 5pm (end of season is apparently 15 September). Then after just 1.5 hours by the pool they tried to charge us €14 for use of sun beds….they rapidly removes the charge as we had not been informed. I got the sense they did that a lot! Breakfast - passable but coffee was some of the worst I have tasted…. This is Italy …coffee from a vacuum flask really!!

Early check in was nice. On a busy street with lots of noise most all night long. Room had a partial sea view but not on water. Air con didn't work well, so very hot in room. Old Hotel. $7 Charge for each, and having to make a reservation for using a lounge at Pool not good! Internet did not work due to the location of our room. no coffee available until 7:30am. Left before breakfast served.

Very welcoming reception.We were upgraded to a room with a sea view as they weren't busy. Due to covid 19 the restaurant wasn't open. Nice pool with lifeguard and bar. Easy access to town center and beaches.

The Grand Hotel de Londres is a beautiful, very old building that is poorly managed and underutilized. The staff behave as though you are bothering them by being there. The wait staff is badly trained and annoying. The man at the pool-bar actually shouted angrily at us when we got into the pool at the wrong time. The maids walk into your room with little warning.

Completely understand out of hotels control but no compensation offered and have had to send an email request - now waiting to see if they respond. Hope that as a four star hotel they will as not washing for four days was not good!! Expedia have been super though.

Hotel is indeed run down but still classic. Don't think you're going to find a Hilton over there in Sanremo, the whole city is run down. Free parking was a sell for us, old property, the bathrooms have been upgraded though. Large rooms, beds are not that comfy.

The staff at the hotel are very helpful and the hotel is nice but the rooms are pretty basic for a 4 star hotel. The rooms are getting a bit old. I had a nice view on the sea but the bed was unfortunately very hard. In the bathroom the shower was leaking.

About a 10 minute walk from Sanremo center, this was obviously once a very grand hotel but now a lack of guests makes it feel slightly old and run down. Breakfast was a prime example of this; held in a large ballroom with few guests, a lack of choice and stale croissants. That being said, our room was upgraded and we were given a large room. Unfortunately the air conditioning was broken but we let the hotel know and they did fix it within a day. The pool was also lovely but you do have to pay for the sunbeds.

The entrance is grand however it is all down hill from that point. Our room was shabby and grubby looking nothing worked properly, the lights had to be fiddled with to get them to work, the floor was worn out and had bits of it which the wood was lifting which was dangerous. The bed was very uncomfortable . We had a huge problem with water in the bathroom, first day it was impossible to wash properly due to a trickle of water coming out of taps. The second day the water stoped mid hair wash , I had to go to reception to complain and was given the key to another room to finish my hair wash and shower. However this room had no hot water and I had an ice cold shower. The third day there was no cold water and the water was boiling hot, we had to leave for the airport so just gave up trying to shower.
Breakfast was very poor , hardly any choice and the croissants were stale and hard, I am a vegetarian so the ham and eggs was not for me, I ended up eating crackers and jam every morning. There was no fresh fruit or local cheese and bread on offer.
Everything in this hotel is old and stale from the food to the rooms. I expect a better standard from a 4 star.

The building may be getting a little tired, but this is a great quality hotel. The staff are very professional and helpful. The location is great being just a few minutes walk to the centre. It was a real pleasure to stay here. For the money, this hotel is very hard to beat.

This hotel is situated in the perfect spot for touring downtown Milan.it is a 5 minute walk from the Duomo. For those traveling by car the offsite parking lot was easily accessible. The room was comfortable. The breakfast great.

Great for weekend stay or longer
The hotel, although a little dated is only minutes from Sanremo city centre making it ideal to visit the old town, shops and restaurants. It is also very close to the beach. The only downside that we had was that guests have to pay to use the pool loungers or chairs, at a cost of 7 euros regardless of whether you stay all day or just an hour. This is the only hotel we have every stayed at that makes guests pay for facilities. Very odd.

One can just imagine the grandeur of this hotel when it first opened. From the grand staircase in the foyer, to the pictures on the walls, this hotel just oozes history.

Antique hotel needs more staff
Pretty good location here. The hotel must have been having some problems with maintenance as the lobby air conditioner did not work, and generally things seemed not kept up. But it had a great pool with a spring diving board which was very relaxing if you don't mind the smoking pool attendant.

We stayed in San Remo but visited other places during our stay. The location of the hotel made a great base. We would definitely stay with Hotel Londra on our next visit to San Remo.

I Really Wanted To Like This Hotel
I don't write unfavourable reviews but this was truly exceptional for all the wrong reasons. I love grand old hotels, even the slightly faded ones because they're always interesting. What I don't like is flat out misrepresentation. This hotel, which apparently dates back to 1860, is listed as a 4 star. It has most certainly not been a 4 star in this century, and probably not for the latter half of the last one. The building is beautiful but in dire need of a full renovation. The rooms, while well sized, were spartan. When we complained about the shower leaking when we first arrived, we were told that the enclosure had been misinstalled and would be fixed. Upon closer inspection, it had been misinstalled a number of years ago. So every time we showered, we ended up with a flood in the bathroom. Breakfast was included but it was always scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt and a minimal amount of poor quality fresh fruit. The staff seemed miserable other than Muhammad, who was pleasant and helpful. Overall staff morale seems low, probably due to what is obviously ownership that is trying to milk as much out of this tired property as possible without putting much back in. The 7euro \"towel fee\" for the pool is insulting. We had our own towels (brought them for the beach) but were not allowed to use them on the mostly empty lounges. The pool lifeguards charged with enforcing this ridiculous policy engender more ill will than they will ever profit from the fee.

Very disapointed with hotel was like a step back in time it looked soooo very tired the price for 2 nights was way to expensive for what it was and breakfastime was a joke no hello nothing from staff and the quality of food was dreadful virtual no choice of food at all i will not be returning and will tell friends and family to give it a veryyyy wide berth

There is a lot to like about this hotel even though it is in a bit of a 1950's time warp it still retains some charm. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable.Breakfast is acceptable; hot option is bacon and scrambled eggs which is rather bland. Hotel charges 7 Euro for sun-bed and towel which leaves people feeling they might just as well go on the beach and pay.

Stay was good in general, booked a family room for 4 (2+2 children). Room was spacious, clean and silent, so very appreciated. Free parking is also a plus. People very kind and polite and overall service very positive. Would definitely recommend the hotel even though it is a bit cozy. This hotel might have been a great hotel, 50 years ago, but it needs to be fully renovated. We felt being in an abandoned house... Waiters in the restaurant were ignoring us and, as an example, we needed 20 minutes to be served coffee in the restaurant for the breakfast. It only happened after several reminders! Dressing new tables was more important than serving waiting customers. We will never go back to this hotel and definitely don't recommend it, except if people are looking for an old building, old service and live a different experience.... Not us!

This is supposed to be a 4 * hotel, well not really. The bar was unstaffed, so my wife and I left after waiting 30 mins for a drink. The wifi is useless and the breakfast was dire. The phrase clinging onto former glories is very apt.
