Loved our stay. We were very happy they could accomdate an early check in after our long flight from Canada.
The spa was wonderful. We enjoyed it with our 4 yesr old during their children hours (pool noodles included!)
Breakfast was delicious.
Would highly recommend, super relaxing!

The spa facilities and swimming pools are amazing. Grounds and gardens are well taken care of and beautiful. Breakfast options were diverse and good quality. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful.

What could be improved:
* Building and room maintenance needs serious work. Buildings’ exterior paint has long lost its splendor. Our bathroom door and window frames were in terrible condition, which is sad because at some point this hotel must have deserved the 4 stars it has.
* The mattress was really uncomfortable and you could hear its old coils squeaking with each minor movement.
* The AC in the room was blasting cold air and the control was not functional so we ended up sleeping with our heads under the sheets not to breathe that air.

If you don’t mind the points above or are just going for the thermal spa and swimming-pools, I highly recommend this property (esp. the spa)

Hotel is really nice and have a great breakfast, I didn’t use the restaurants, but menus look good.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The spa is amazing, I didn’t have much time to fully use it. I had a massage and it was the perfect ending to my holiday.
I will definitely be coming back ☺️

No AC (the room stayed at 80 degrees), wi-fi connection very poor, elevator not working, no restock of amenities, dirty cups and plates upon arrival. The hotel's solution was a standing floor fan that just blew hot air. The elevator is bug infested. Never again.

The property when you first arrive is absolutely stunning, the landscape everything spoke of high end resort. The room was huge and initiall was stunning. Then you see water spots from like a broken water pipe around the baseboards. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the shower drained very slow. There was no controls for the AC, so the room was always stuffy had to open the windows at night which the mosquitos took as invite to hangout. The main outdoor restaurant was mediocre not deserving of the price they charged. Quite the opposite with breakfast was one of the best laid out great selection great staff. This property has a lot of potential and should have an investor this would be a gold mine.

For the price I paid it was great. About 55 mins on the train from Central Barcelona

Room was decent. Nice big balcony, bed was comfy. Room had issues but you can overlook them

The room was nice and spacious. What I didn't like was the lack of lighting in our room. The Spa area was good. I would have liked the option of a steam room. Also, it would have been good if someone could have taken us around the complex. It took me a day or so to find out where everything was.

Overall our stay here was mediocre. Spent 2 nights at the hotel. When we arrived, service at reception was not warm or friendly, rather neutral for lack of a better word. The hot springs were not hot but rather warm. The walls in the shower had soap scum and needed to be scrubbed down. The hotel has central a/c so you can’t adjust the temperature. Both nights I went to bed feeling hot, thankfully a few hours into the night the room cooled off. Leaving the window opened overnight was not an option as our room was on the 1st floor and anyone could easily get into our bedroom. On a positive note service at breakfast was great. One of our servers, an older gentleman, was very kind and attentive, he made sure to approach us to let us know that if we needed anything we should feel free to ask. There was great variety at breakfast from fruit, to eggs, to sausage, cold cuts, cheese, and oatmeal. They were able to bring me warm soy milk upon request. The town in general wasn’t what I expected, seems everyone knows each other and starred at us like outsiders, they must not get much visitors. We passed on exchanging currency at the airport thinking this would be an option at either the hotel or town and that was a mistake. There is no place to change you cash to Euros. This resulted in us having to withdraw money from a Santander ATM which had high fees and a horrible exchange rate, as expected. Finally, I will not return to this hotel, felt I saw everything I needed to see in 2 days.

Great stay at a great spa hotel!

We came for just a one night stay but had a great relaxing time making the most of the hotels spa facilities..... although we came with our one year old, the hotel have set times when you can bring your children into the facilities which was very convenient for us and for other guests who don't have kids.... probably a poster advertising these times would be good for guests without children who tend to look down their noses a little at younger guests!

The breakfast was great too with many healthy options for those on a diet

There wasn't a great deal to do in the surrounding area but we came purely for the hotel facilities which satisfied our needs 100% and we'll definitely come back!

Lovely village, beautiful surroundings and a very well facilitated spa. Not many non-Spanish tourists provide a fresh breath of air. Very good quality food as well (breakfast and in the restaurant). But too many details lacking in care in finesse to make it a really great stay; outdoor pools closed for maintenance, without any prior warning / announcement, impossible to find staff in the bar when you need them, TV in one of the rooms not working and could not be fixed, also had to move rooms because one of the showers broke, taxi wasn't ordered when asked for it etc.

It's a spa experience. The restaurant is swank and the breakfast buffet outstanding. My only issue was the limited availability of salt and pepper. The last morning I finally found one shaker set on the way out. The spa services are excellent. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Not a pleasant stay...Stayed in the lobby for more than 2 hours before getting the room key. Hotel asked additional 80Euros for the wife. Not reasonalable. Will not going back.

Also, the dinner included has the same menu every day...Overall, it is a terrible experience after travels 150 days/year.

Very tired hotel, paint peeling off the outer walls, cracked windows with tape across them? On arrival in the town, I thought the hotel had closed down, it looked so bad! Advertised as a 4 star, but are best 2. Lots of equipment in the spa was broken and obviously had been for some time. No hot water in the spa showers. Restaurant set menu was very poor for the 30 euro price excluding drinks. Staff made mistakes at check in, the spa, restaurant and at check out, everybody was sorry, at a very sorry hotel.

I traveled alone, wanting to just escape for a couple of days. Very relaxing stay. Quiet hotel. Easy to get to from the train station. Room was a bit dark, with only a couple of lamps in the main part but this was ok. The spa was brilliant. An ideal place for a bit of 'me time'.

A tired hotel with few staff

The hotel looks lovely at first glance and they clearly aspire to be higher-end, but on closer inspection it all looks very tired and in need of some TLC. There was only one restaurant open, which although was very good had a limited repertoire. Room service was hit and miss and the bar lacked staff so there was always a wait for service. My telephone could not make international calls which was inconvenient as I had no mobile service, although there was hotel wifi which worked well. Mini bar was poorly stocked and there were things missing that you would otherwise expect from a 4* hotel, such as a safe and a hairdryer. The bed was very uncomfortable and my air-con stopped working on the second day which meant sleeping was impossible.

The spa was well designed but again lots of things did not work and there was significant amounts of peeling paint caused by condensation from the heated pools.

Stayed for three nights in this hotel 45 minutes by train from central Barcelona. Overall a pleasant experience. especially enjoyed the hearty breakfast. Not a wide choice of dishes but what there was was well-cooked and set one up for the day ahead. Check in and check out were both handled efficiently and no real complaints about anything. Interaction with staff was minimal as breakfast was self-service and only really needed to check in and out.

very disappointing stay. Reception staff very off, however restaurant staff very pleasant. We went half board which was a mistake as the options were the same every nights. Breakfast was ok. Room very basic and would be rated as two stars. Balcon was overlooking a building and you could not really have sat for lack of space. Spa was adequat but rather tired. Several of the facilities were either closed or broken.

Great hotel for getaway to relax

Hotel is about 30 minute drive from Barcelona so you need a car. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we wanted as we had lovely breakfast to start the day and spent a few hours by the pool which on a hot day is so nice to just be able to chill out. One problem can be lack of sunbeds as too many guests for how many they have. We then went to barcelona for rest of day until late evening as once you leave the hotel you are generally out for the day. All in all if you want some chill out time and are prepared to travel then hotel is great. If you want to be in heart of barcelona then its not for you!!!!!!

This is a hidden gem!

This was my 4th time to the Barcelona area and I wanted to stay somewhere different. This was an easy 15 minute drive to my office in Granollers. Unfortunately I never had time to get out in town, but it seemed nice and clean. My room was nice and had a great balcony that overlooked the pool in the courtyard. Breakfast was great and the free garage parking was a huge plus. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel very accessable from Barcelona airport train station 5 minute walk from hotel with regular trains to La Gariga via one stop.Takes about an hour to get there. Hotel itself was amazing had a single room very comfortable with own balcony with amazing view of mountains in distance. Lovely town with nice walks up into hill sides. Hotel spa fantastic free outdoor spa pool for guests could be used in any weather. Don't recommend going in unheated pool unless weather hot. Great facilities in hotel including pool table and friendly bar where you ring bell for service. Food in restaurant was fantastic very good flavours and nouveau cuisine look. Could have done with a little larger potions but probably the tastiest food ever and very good value at 27 euros for three amazing courses.

Excellent hotel, we had a really elaxing trip and it was very child friendly. It was not always easy to find out which services, especially with regards to meals were available as we were out of season. More guide information about the area would have been good too. Overall it was a fabulous way to relax and enjoy the sights of Barcelona too.

Wonderful retreat

From the welcome on arrival, which was fantastic, to the check out on departure we were treated with courtesy care and almost as friends. The owner himself took the trouble on several occasions to speak to us and on one occasion to personally explain a slight problem they had with one of the pools. Admittedly we went out of season but on Friday Saturday and Sunday the Hotel was almost completely full and still we were served with care and courtesy, always acknowledged by every member of staff. Food was excellent, spa fantastic, pools wonderful and the ambience very relaxing. La Garriga was an intriguing town with a surprisingly athletic population who came out after dark to run walk stroll and generally enjoy their 1 1/2 mile long sand covered, tree lined pedestrian walkway from one end of town to the other. I'd recommend this place to anyone - the train journey to Barcelona was so easy it was the perfect base for an exploration of the city too.

Gran Hotel Balneario Blancafort - near Barcelona

If you are looking for value for money and being close to Barcelona is not particularly important, then this resort-hotel is a fine choice. The hotel had (Feb 2011) very nice decor and outside ambiance, and quite comfortable. The restaurant is also good. However, it is a 60 minute train ride from Barcelona and in the middle of nowhere (La Garriga). The train station of La Garriga is a ten-minute walk from the hotel, so if you are carrying lots of luggage, beware. The rooms and bed was quite comfortable and had a "bed and breakfast" feel to it. They have a spa and a outdoor heated pool.

Black Butterfly - Spain Adventure

My overall experience was exactly that, my experience. I can't tell you what you will experience, but I will definitely return to Gran Htl Balneario Blancafort if I visit Spain again. You may want to take note that this is a Catalan speaking area and the Spanish dialect and some words are different. You'll learn quickly "vale" means "okay" and is used in almost every sentence.

I did not eat at the restaurant nor did I enjoy the full spa while I was there. Unfortunately, I can't share my reviews in that area, but it looked very inviting. If you want to buy water at the corner store it is less than a dollar for a 32 fl oz bottle.

Por lo general, una estancia agradable. La habitación en la que estábamos tenía lo que necesitábamos para pasar allí una noche, aunque habría que hacer un repaso al papel pintado porque estaba suelto y con un aspecto muy antiguo, lo que no veo aceptable para un hotel de 4 estrellas. Por otro lado, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba y eso no es un problema a finales de septiembre, pero en enero o agosto....
El Spa muy bien y la piscina exterior también, estamos satisfechos con esto.
La comida de los restaurantes y el desayuno era de buena calidad, comimos muy bien y eso siempre mejora la experiencia de la estancia.

Notre séjour s'est passé de façon convenable, la piscine était très agréable, le panorama est très sympa, toutefois cet hôtel a besoin de rafraîchissement, notamment dans les chambres, papier peint avec trace d'humidité eau qui coule, les rideaux sont énormément abîmés le jour passe à travers ont besoin d'être changé et d'être lavé. La literie est bonne, il serait toutefois intéressant dans la chambre famille suite quatre personnes de ne pas mettre le troisième lit individuel sous l'arrivée de la climatisation de plus il est surprenant de trouver de lit dans le salon.

À notre arrivée à l’accueil ils nous demandent des cartes identité à chacun je lui présente la mienne et celle de mon époux mon fils ma fille de 11 ans n’a pas encore sa carte la dame très désagréable veut rien comprendre,je demande le chef et là il arrive il dit ce n’est pas grave il nous demande des excuses….en suite on monte dans la chambre pas d’eau chaude en panne dans tt l’hôtel après un long voyage j’ai été déçue bon Très grande suite familiale, meubles vieillissant, poussière sur les meubles, on a trouvé des bouteilles d’eau pas fraîche pas de Clim dans la chambre heureusement il faisait pas très chaud par contre la piscine est bien..petit déjeuner 18 euros par personne trop cher prochaine fois j’irai ailleurs..la ville est quasi morte y’a pas grand chose à faire dedans donc j’ai été à Barcelone ..trop cher pour ce que c’est 😏

Je n’ai pas pour habitude de laisser un avis car je suis moi même noter pour mon activité professionnelle. Donc je connais la valeur d’un avis. Pour autant, là je me sens obligé de le faire.
C’est hôtel ne mérite pas à mon sens les 4 étoiles ( j’ai une certaine expérience de ce type d’établissement). Nous avons loué pour 1 semaine une suite premium pour 4 personnes. L’état de propreté est déplorable. Il y a un smiley de crasse dans la salle de bains, des taches sur les tentures des murs, les plaintes en mauvais état, des moisissures sur les plafonds, des trous de mite dans les rideaux. De même pour le mobilier, en mauvais état général. Le bord de la piscine est mal entretenue ce qui fait que vous avez les pieds plein de terre lorsque vous en sortez.
Points positifs: la literie est de qualité, la cuisine est bonne et le personnel est sympathique et le Spa agréable.
Après réclamation, il nous a été offert une bouteille de Cava. Nous aurions préféré un nettoyage complet de notre chambre.

Excellent week end dans cet hotel

Hôtel superbe pour décompresser un week end. J avais lu beaucoup de commentaires négatifs sur l état des chambres et j ai été agréablement surprise. Ma chambre était partiellement rénové, le grand lit très confortable. Les extérieurs de l hôtels magnifique et le spa exceptionnel. Le personnel très aimable et parlant un peu le français. Le restaurant plutôt moyen pour le prix

Me ha gustado completamente todo, la habitacion de 4 es enorme. El complejo tiene muchas actividades para hacer.
Lo que no me ha gustado: el aire acondicionado muy alto, y si lo quitabamos hacia calor, fue un dia donde afuera estabamos a 20grados.

Pero en general, todo perfecto.

La verdad que para ser un hotel de 4 estrellas, las instalaciones y la equipación del hotel deja mucho que desear. La habitación tiene aire acondicionado que no puedes regular y estaba toda la noche encendido muy alto. Si quieres apagarlo tenías que sacar la tarjeta y te quedabas sin cargar el móvil y sin luz…mi habitación no tenía nevera, solo agua del tiempo, no había plancha, ni ningún otro servicio como hervidor de agua, ni cafetera. Además los pocos enchufes que había por la habitación hacía difícil cargar el móvil y tenerte que ir al baño para cargar otro dispositivo. Las cortinas no oscurecían y entraba toda luz desde la mañana pronto…
Otro punto negativo es para los recepcionistas del hotel, no explican nada del tema spa, ni si quieres desayuno, ni ves interés por explicarte nada detalladamente.

Es un lugar para relajarse y desconectar. Está al lado del centro del pueblo, que es muy bonito. Se come espectacular, tanto el restaurante de fuera como el de dentro con la media pensión son buenísimos. El spa genial. Todo perfecto.
