The property was reasonably clean, and the overall environment was fine. However, I had a major issue with the bed setup. I specifically requested a double bed, but was given two single beds joined together. While some hotels treat this as equivalent, it’s not the same. The mattresses constantly moved apart, making the bed unstable and uncomfortable. It completely defeats the purpose of a double bed—especially for couples. There’s no way to relax properly, let alone enjoy any intimacy in that setup.

This was the very first time I’ve encountered such a situation in any hotel, and it was disappointing. A proper double bed should be one unified mattress, not two singles pretending to be one. This detail really matters, and unfortunately, it affected my stay.

It is nice small hotel. If you’re driving, it is cheaper hotel to go around Barcelona but if you’re commuting - I would not recommend. Taxi is around 60 euros one way. It is more than 1.5 hrs if taking transit and the long walk.

The hotel is actually not in Barcelona, it’s in Montmelo and takes about 2 hours in public transport and 45 minutes in taxi, very expensive.

I would not recommend it for anybody going from the BCN airport or visiting attractions in Barcelona.

It was further away from the city than we expected, but it was good hotel. Very clean. My only minus is the AC. It seemed to stop working in the middle of the night.
And the breakfast buffet needs some variety. If you're staying one day, fine. But 4 days of exactly the same. Boring!

I checked into the hotel on the 2nd of July 2024 and checked out today 4th July 2024. I went to the reception to ask for a taxi to take me to the airport. While waiting for the cab someone came down to the lobby and stole my Bag containing my international passport, bank card, £220, €60, my prescription glasses. Ear pods, marc Jacobs Sun glasses. Very terrible experience. The hotel staffs act like they don't know how to speak English and would not get the police to help me out. I will take it up with my lawyers to see justice prevail.

This is a pretty average hotel with good staff. They were really helpful when it came to specific needs or informative in general. It was clean for the most part but the floors and surfaces were dusty and we saw ants on the floor. The breakfast buffet had croissants, cereal, bread, some cheese, hard boiled eggs, oranges/apples and coffee! The biggest downside is the location- it’s far from all the major attractions and quite far from the airport. The public transportation system is okay but not great, there are no taxi/buses after 11 pm.

Basically, this hotel is too far away from city. I would recommend if you have own car. It’s ok but if you don’t have car. It’s big problem, you need taxi but you couldn’t find taxi at train station you need wait long depending availability. They have only staff for your help. No one there help. Excellent Accommodation in Barcelona Environs

Holiday Inn Express Barcelona-Montmelo proved to be an excellent accommodation for the price. Our room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and provided sufficient space, and the wifi worked well. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and somewhat varied. Although there was no business section, the front desk met our needs by printing our boarding passes. Because the hotel is located in an industrial area, it is beneficial, perhaps essential, to have a car to afford access to convenient rail transportation into Barcelona, local restaurants, etc. Best of all, the price was very reasonable!

Room was super hot. The air wasn’t working well. Parking was terrible. But the room was clean and extra bed was made up already for our toddler, which was so nice since we got there so late.

It’s wrong to suggest this hotel is in Barcelona or to suggest its convenient for the city however there have been many negative comments about the hotel which are unjustified . The hotel is modern , clean and has good facilities. All what you might expect from a Holiday Inn

Practical, good

Final night in Spain before heading to airport. Hotel is for biz folks but with friendly staff, buffet breakfast and clean but small rooms. Parking lot is tight to maneuver in.

Property is in the middle of industrial estate, not very convenient for travelling around, train station nearby but a 15min walk, the race yrack next door can be noisy and the ground level had an over the top smell of an ashtray (so glad we stayed upper level!).
Opted for a double bed but was given 2 singles and told couldn't change to a double bed room.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was poor,, very limited choice and nothing in an order (ie, cereal the other end of the spread to the milk, bread nowhere near the spreads and no cooked food available - which was never mentioned).

The Hotel is very new, the staff very nice and the breakfast is good. You will definitely gonna feel comfortable, just try to ask for rooms on the 2nd floor or above cuz on the first floor any outside noise is hearable.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. If you don’t have a car I wouldn’t recommend, it’s around 30-35 mins out of Barcelona with nothing much around the area. Rooms were clean and comfortable it had everything we needed. Breakfast was simple but enough, there was also a good coffee machine.

We'll be back!

Our business trip to Barcelona ended with a night here before driving back to UK.
It certainly was saving the best till last with regard to hotels! We had a spacious comfortable room and very good breakfast. Shame it's not a bit closer to the city.

LOVELY HOTEL VERY GOOD STAFF EVEN KEPT THE BAR OPEN LATE FOR US COMING HOME WAS A VERY NICE TOUCH FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED UNTIL WE LEFT STAFF WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR U SWOULD STAY AGAIN NICE BREAKFAST AS WELL AND LOVELY STAFF IN KITCHEN ALSO ITS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO LOS RAMBLAS

The hotel itself is basic ,and far away from Barcelona. There is no public transport from the hotel or nearby ,and no shops or amenities close by. A taxi to Barcelona cost £50..Only breakfast is provided at the hotel..Travellers have no food available to them at other times and Montmelo , asmall town is far away, so nowhere to go ..There is no out door seating area....the bar.is a haphazard affair
As older people we found the staff friendly and helpful , but we would not recommend this hotel unless on an organised coach tour or having own transport..It cost us £300 in 3 days for taxis!!

Good hotel for the price

Only stayed one night after a day in barcelona city, we arrived quite late but was greated by a friendly lady on reception, room was basic but fine, hallway had an unpleasant smell though. Breakfast was basic but nice enough, overall a good hotel for the price, I would stay again

Close to catalunya racing track. Good value.

Not impressed with breakfast places. It gets crowded and food runs out quickly. Hey it gets refilled if you ask.
Great rooms wide and clean.
In hot weather, rooms should be provided with ice holders.
Air conditioning not very powerful for some rooms. I took 2 rooms and one struggled to get cold.
Apart from that, great place to Barcelona from if you have a car.

The staff were very helpful and kind.
The hotel is located in an industrial area with very bery limited acces to restaurants. The parking on property is limited. The breakfast is okay. So thankful they had an ice machine but you had ti ask for a bucket as the room didnt contain one. The shower was difficult to get into. No wash clothes in the room. Glad it was close to the highway and only 40 mins from the airport if you pau the toll road fare.

Nice hotel. too far from Barcelona.

Great location if you plan to visit the Grand Prix,right next door. Not so great if you plan to visit Barcelona. The hotel was in the middle of an industrial area with absolutely nothing around it, no shops bars, restaurants or even houses and people. We literally felt as if we were in the middle of nowhere. The staff were very helpful and made our short stay enjoyable.

Reasonably good hotel, good price. You will need a car to stay there. It's in the middle of some industrial park, about 35 minutes by car from Barcelona us station north. Hotel was fine, staff helpful but breakfast very simple and the old lady couldn't keep up refilling.

Value for money option.

I was looking for a hotel near La Roca shopping village and picked this as it offers good value for money. Breakfast was included, limited range but still a convenient option as eating options are not within walking distance.

Good on a tight budget

This hotel is a 2 star at best. Awesome staff but old building and unkept. Sink didn't work and many things are just dirty. Mold in bathroom. Buffet breakfast is under stocked and unstaffed so there's little selection and no help. You get what you pay for!!

Made a big mistake choosing this hotel

Worst ever hotel staff, no service at all to worst, no basic stuffs provided in the room, confirmed for double bed but provided two single bed. To be honest no positive about this hotel since we stepped in and staff had no clue what people expect from them.Worst Breakfast as well.
