Didn’t let us check in an hour early so we waited in the lobby. Booked 2 rooms for 6 person. Room was too tight and small, can’t even open a large suitcase unless you put it on your bed.
Breakfast is good.
No kettle, no hairdryer (you have to borrow one from the other ibis).
No fridge, microwave is downstairs.
Bus stop is not too far. Not much restaurant around the area. There’s a grocery store which is probably 10 minutes walk.

For two the room was a good size, the shower was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Staff were all really friendly.

The continental breakfast was lovely, a good selection of pastries, meats, cheese and cereals. The coffee was decent too.

Disappointed on our last morning we were told breakfast opens at 06:15, we waiting to 06:30 and still not open and unfortunately we had to leave for our flight.

There are no immediate amenities in the area if you are going to be out of the hotel all day. Everything was shut by the time we arrived back in the evenings. It’s a shame as the hotel was really lovely!

Great quality budget hotel and within walking distance of the Ice Hockey arena (5 minutes!).

Shared facilities between the Ibis Budget and its sister hotel next door. Staff were friendly, polite and very helpful.

Pros:

Great location for the ice hockey and local transport link via the number 1 bus every 15 minutes for 3 CHF.

Rooms clean and tidy - bedding fresh and comfortable

Very friendly staff and happy to speak in English

Great bar service in the Ibis next door

Cons:

Limited facilities in the room (but it is budget for a reason!)
No hair dryer, iron, tea/coffee station, shower gel
Vending machines very limited no snacks or drinks in the budget hotel and no vending machine in the Ibis next door although they do have a fridge with takeaway drinks

Disappointing Experience with Unhelpful Staff

recently stayed at this hotel and had a very disappointing experience. We had booked a room with three separate single beds, but upon arrival, we were given one double bed and one single bed. When I approached the hotel staff about this issue, the employee informed me that the confirmation we received was automatic.

We all know that the message was not automatic, as there’s no way an AI can say, “Good afternoon. We will assign you a room with 3 single beds.” I understand that mistakes can happen, but the employee lying to us was the problem. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they were dismissive and unhelpful. They even mentioned that they couldn’t remove clients from their rooms, which was not what we were asking for. This kind of response is not what I expect from a hotel. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their customer service.

Hotel was reasonable value, the reception is partly co run with the normal ibis across the car park. Parking is 12chf reduced from 20chf if validate through hotel before leave. We just walked 200m past bridge from the nearby free parking (only few spaces) as this hotel is in suburb type area. Nice breakfast across road in normal ibis hotel

Great staff! Comfortable room, great shower but on the smaller size at the ibis budget. Perhaps book at the ibis across the street for a bit more room. A bit bummed when I realise I had to pay for parking, everything in Switzerland does costs something no matter if you are staying close to the city centre or farther out.

Ibis‘ slogan on the room key is „Lets get in“. Well for us it was - LETS GET OUT. Smelly room. Bedding / towels smelled as well - like cigarette odor. The room was equipped with air conditioning, but guest have no control over it and the system was turned off. We were told to wait - the temperature will drop later in the evening. When we arrived it was 86 degrees F. One and only time at Ibis Bugdet. You what get what you pay for I suppose …

Last minute reservation for a conference at the Forum, i was lucky and was given the high floor and a corner room, tiny with the bed occupying 90% of the room. Comfy calm practical. I loved the place and the stay. Will return. Thank you

Great reception from the man at the entrance: efficient, friendly, useful, quick, supportive.
Nice halls, great security protecting access to the floors with the room key.
Practical, clean room with everything I needed (bathroom, WiFi, television, duvet, etc.) and comfortable even if a small space. Window that opens two ways. And I appreciate so much that the floors were parquet (Not carpet!) so much more hygienic.

It's sparkling new and modern. I like the night light over the bed and electric plug for charging phones. I didn't like that you couldn't fully open the window. It was very hot and hardly any air was coming in. The air conditioning wasn't very good and I had a hard time sleeping. I was also disappointed at the use of plastic cups wrapped in plastic in the bathroom. You can use washable plastic or glass tumblers instead. No need to use throw-away plastics.

Nice place. We initially thought to have booked the up level Ibis next door, but were pleasantly surprised by the budget version of that brand. Check in was ok .. no parking included 11$, but breakfast was included. Quiet rooms, small, clean, simple. It could use an extra on or two towels. Great breakfast with friendly server.

Top Lage nahe der Autobahn mit kostenlosem Parkplatz – ideal für eine Übernachtung. Leider war das Zimmer sehr kalt und liess sich kaum heizen, zudem fand ich noch Haare vom Vorgänger im Bett. Das Zimmer ist, wie der Name schon sagt, on a Budget – leider etwas zu wörtlich genommen.

Lugar otimo para custo e benefício. Mesmo um pouco longe da estação central da cidade, tem ônibus a cada 10 minutos e chega lá rapido. Desejum vale a pena, delicioso com bastante opções. Eu voltaria lá. Gostei bastante. E um preço mais acessível.

Negativo: o ar-condicionado no meu quarto nao funcionou bem, deixando o quarto mais quente que o normal (no verão).

Wir hatten im ibis budget gebucht. Als wir einchecken wollten würde uns gesagt, dass es ein Problem mit dem Buchungssystem gab und haben für den gleichen Preis nebenan im ibis Fribourg zwei Zimmer bekommen. Für uns war das wie ein kleines Upgrade!

Foi a pior estadia que tive em toda minha vida, começando pelo quarto que não tem climatização para verão, passamos muito calor no quarto, os banheiros não possuem sabão, muito menos secador de cabelo, o quarto é extremamente pequeno, não cabia as malas, tivemos que remanejar elas fora do quarto, e o serviço de estacionamento que conta na reserva que possui, mas na verdade não tem, eles obrigam você a estacionar no subsolo, onde é cobrado 20CHF durante a noite. Infelizmente me sentir extorquido desde a reserva até a minha saída, não voltarei novamente, e não recomendo que reservem, infelizmente vão passar por estas situações, ou talvez até pior, e sinto muito as outras pessoas que passaram por isto!

L'état des toilettes du rez de chaussée laissait à désirer,
une odeur d'urine assez forte et des papiers partout au sol. Mais le WC assis, était par contre propre. L'hôtel devrait jeter un oeil, 2-3 x par jour, car c'est d'habitude propre. Par contre la chambre, le WC douche de la chambre étaient très propres. Service rapide et souriant, à la prise de la chambre.
