Police knock on guests’s rooms at stupid hours

This hotel is visited by the police daily to check in on tourists. They have the sadistic and nasty habit of knocking on visitor’s room doors to compulsory demand the immediate payment of traffic fines which inclusively may be unknown, giving them the alternative to spend a few days in prison! What a way to spend a night. I would not recommend this hotel due to constant police harassment.

The hotel is on the outskirts of an industrial park that has a fair amount of heavy vehicle traffic. There is a \"Budget Ibis\" under construction that is attached to this hotel and not visible in the promotional photo. The hotel shares a parking structure with a small casino that has table games and slot machines. Overall the hotel was nice with clean small rooms and European tourist class accommodations for a continental breakfast and simple bar service.

New Ibis Hotel

Front desk lady is curt. The younger one is friendlier. Parking is 6CHF with no alternative. Hotel is half done, is still building, not finished yet, so there's still people working on the construction.
Cleanliness is superb as the hotel is still new. Room is adequate, with one extra pillow. Bed is comfortable. No kettle. No fridge. Ibis standard.

Stayed in the hotel for almost a week when visiting Bern and Fribourg. The staff was nice and the room clean and comfortable with no frills. Continental breakfast was good. Two downsides worth mentioning are location (15 min on a bus from Fribourg centre) and somewhat slowish and problematic Wifi (need to change password every 3 days). But overall it was a good value for me considering hotel prices in the Bern area.

Good for an overnight stay

Only stayed for one night whilst travelling through Switzerland. We found it clean and comfortable for a budget hotel stay. The shower was great. It would have been nice to have been able to make ourselves a hot drink in our room but they did not provide a hospitality tray or kettle. The bar area was very pleasant.

Budget hotel only in switzerland

Like all ibis hotels you know what you are getting, a basic room at an affordable price (for switzerland), comfortable beds, quiet room, nice shower etc. In this hotel however the air cond struggled as it was a very hot day. Locality is close to motorway but neighboourhood has nothing, a fair distance to city centre which is very intersting and worth a visit.

Very good hotel and excellent staff

We stayed for 1 night, the receptionist (Anne) was very very helpful and friendly. the room upgraded with extra bed for free. another major advantage was a free parking at the hotel. Finally, they managed to get the breakfast ready earlier cause we wanted to leave early to catch out flight.

Ibis is one of the reliable hotel chains - you know what to expect in terms of the room facilities and that familiarity is comforting when traveling a lot.
I had a most comfortable stay in Fribourg. Staff were friendly and helpful. The \"Do not disturb\" sign was respected and no matter how late the room was vacated each day, it was still serviced.
While it was further out from the centre than I expected, there was an excellent bus service nearby which equally reliably delivered you to the city centre in 10 minutes.
Building works were under way on one side of the hotel and staff were helpful in moving my room to the opposite side of the hotel to avoid noise disturbance.
Free wifi in all areas, including the bedrooms, was appreciated.

Just somewhere to sleep and nothing else.

Ibis Fribourg is situated some 4km outside the city centre in an industrial area. It would only be really useful for those travelling by car as it only has bus connections to the city. II has a shopping complex some 400 metres down the road with a large supermarket. Great if you want to self cater but Ibis don't supply a jug to boil water for coffee or tea.
The hotel is a prefabricated model with small no frills rooms. If you want style and comfort then this is certainly not for you. If you want a clean overnight stay then this fits the bill perfectly. The price for a room is quite expensive compared to other Ibis, considering its location. Breakfast is not supplied, an additional CHF15 for a basic continental makes the cost for two quite substantial. If I were staying longer in Fribourg I would certainly find a hotel with a few more creature comforts. Wireless internet is free in the lobby but costs CHF 3 per hour in your room.
Road noise from the main roundabout outside is quite audible and as it is not a brick and concrete structure, I presume that internal noise between adjacent rooms would be a concern. We had an occupied room two rooms away and could hear the toilet flushing during the night.

As a place to stay overnight, 7 out of 10 but only a 5 if the period extended beyond 2 nights..

This hotel was a very good value for the money. I like the easy on and off the autobahn. Front desk personal was excellent. They were helpful with information and fluent in many languages. We did not eat any food there so I cannot comment on that. The parking is a little bizzare but nothing too serious once you find the parking lot. If you are looking for a budget hotel with easy access to the autobahn, this is the place to stay.

This is a reasonable hotel near old town Fribourg and Gruyere. Keep in mind that they do charge a deposit which is odd and promise to refund the amount in 2-3 business days. A no frills, basic hotel that's clean.

This is convenient hotel for traveling. I wouldn't recommend it as a destination hotel as it is a bit outside of town. Parking is first-come, first-serve, very limited and you will end up parking over at the casino next door when the few spaces the hotel has are filled. Towels are VERY thin as well as the 2 pillows in the room. If you want any additional and call the front desk, they will tell you to come get them at the desk and hang up. The front desk seems to not know dining options besides the casino next door. The breakfast buffet is good, all cold, but nice options and the staff tending that offers great service and wonderful, helpful attitudes. The front desk could learn a thing or two from them. You will need a rental car if you want to go anywhere other than the casino.

Appena arrivato chiedono immediatamente il saldo totale.
Ti aggiungono il costo del parcheggio che non era indicato a pagamento ed è pure salato.
Per bere una cosa al bar devi sempre pagare in contanti e non ti permettono di addebitare alla camera.
Praticamente ti fanno capire che non hanno fiducia nella clientela.

De kamer was prima en de bedden k
lagen goed. De douche is oké echter veel schimmel in de voegen en op het plafond. Tevens kon de deur niet sluiten en dat is toch minder wanneer je naar het toilet moet en/of 's nachts naar het toilet moet en het licht aan doet.Dat is minder. Dit soort zaken moeten echter beter geregeld worden en dus eerder gerepareerd worden zodat het deugdelijk is. Bij aankomst was het onduidelijk waar de parkeerplaatsen waren. Wij reden bij toeval een rondje en achter het hotel zijn dus de parkeerplaatsen waar je voor moet betalen. Inchecken ging prima.

Schneller Check-In am späten Abend und ein kostenloser Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage. Was will man mehr auf der Durchreise. Direkt an der Autobahn aber ohne deren Geräusche. Zimmer klein aber sauber. Vielseitiges Frühstück zum drinnen und draußen sitzen. Unkomplizierter Check-Out. Alles perfekt !

Schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Tiefgaragenstellplatz war in Ordnung, das Personal war freundlich.
ABER: Die Einrichtung des Zimmers war nicht schön. Ibis hat ja immer einen ähnlichen Standard, den wir hier auch erwartet hätten, stattdessen ein Sammelsurium aus Bett, Sessel, Kühlschrank und Mikrowelle sowie ein hässliches Bild an der Wand. Das Ganze zu einem stolzen Schweizer Preis.
Das Frühstück für einen Aufpreis von ca. 30 Euro über Hotels.com mitgebucht bestand überwiegend aus Aufbackbrötchen. Das habe ich für viel weniger Geld schon viel besser erlebt, zugegeben nicht in der Schweiz.

Achtung: Ich war gar nicht im IBIS!

Als sich am Freitag-Abend 25. März dort einchecken wollte, hiess es ich hätte keine Buchung im IBIS, man fände keine. Ich hätte eine Buchung im IBIS Budget.

Also unterwarf ich mich dem Schicksal und wechselte. Als ich an Sonntag dort auscheckte und eine Rechnung wollte, bekam ich keine und ich wurde gefragt, wieso ich nicht im IBIS gewesen sei, ich hätte doch dort gebucht!

Ich habe jetzt also keine Rechnung, obwohl ich die bräuchte für die Abrechnung, nur einen Zahlungsbeleg von IBIS Budget.

Wie kann so etwas passieren?

Das IBIS-Hotel in Fribourg ist jedes Jahr im Herbst eine sehr praktische Unterkunft, wenn ich am Murtenlauf teilnehme. Und die IBIS-Hotels sind immer sauber und bieten das Nötige, was es braucht. Ich kann diese Hotels nur weiterempfehlen.
