We had a gorgeous room with a lake view and small porch. This was suite (upgraded) room. The ceiling was super high and the room was well-appointed. The restaurant overlooks the lake and was lovely. We had great service in the restaurant and for drinks in the courtyard. We used the laundry service which was excellent but very pricey.

Nice hotel in quaint old town of Murten. Lots of restaurants nearby as well as hotels own one. Lovely view of the lake from the breakfast room. Good continental breakfast. We stayed for one night as a stopover travelling from the Swiss Alps up to Germany. Easy parking outside hotel which also has garage if required.

Beautiful views are the icing on the cake

The staff went out of their way to help with a request we had to chill a bottle of wine we brought with us. They provided everything we needed, even though we didn't buy the wine from them. Dinner in their restaurant was lovely and the view of the lake makes it even more special. I liked that the lobby area had chair groupings (and free coffee!) where you could sit and visit away from your room.

Amazing hotel with outstanding service in the historical center of Murten. Splendid views of the lake from the restaurant. Rooms have no A/C but a fan is provided in summer. Also it is hard to park directly at the hotel, however, plenty of parking is available in walking distance.

We were not very happy about the room--we booked a family room and got a small room with a cot.
Apart from this, we enjoyed very much breakfast at the hotel--quality food and good variety--and the annexed restaurant, which we highly recommend for the view on the lake, the friendly and professional staff, the good food and the little courtyard very convenient for kids.

Nice hotel in Murten

This is a nice property located about 7 minutes walk from the Murten/Morat station. The breakfast is nice and the staff can be friendly. The room I had was good, although rather small and the sound insulation is not the greatest so you can be considered lucky if you don't have a noisy neighbour booked next to your room. Wi-Fi was adequate for e-mail and Whatsapp messaging but for calls be prepared for dropouts. Overall a very nice but expensive little hotel for a short stay in the lovely town of Murten. In summer in can get quite warm and there is no climate control for cooling. Usually, it cools off at night and if you have windows they can be left open.

Fantastic experience with an amazing location

Would highly recommend this hotel for a laid back and relaxing experience. The location can't be beat, being inside the medieval city walls of Murten and located very near the edge of the lakeside. You can explore this small old city in the span of a couple hours, with plenty of places to eat or drink (be aware that all shops and some restaurants are closed on Sun & Mon). Walking along the perimeter of old castle walls is a must-do experience.

The area around Murten is pretty rural and I wish we had spent another day there to do some exploring.

If you stay at this hotel, get a room with a lakeside view. The rooms have balconies and sipping on a glass of wine during sunset was a great thing to do. Be aware that the hotel.com booking may say your room comes with a view of the lake, but this is not accurate. Call the hotel to confirm! In spite of what our booking confirmation said, we did NOT get a room view. The hotel staff was able to upgrade our room for a small fee. They were understanding of our disappointment and the room change gave us the great experience we were looking for.

The hotel restaurant was closed the day we were there, but it looked pretty nice and provided a killer view of the lake. A good grocery store was a 5 minute walk away, if you wanted to stock up for a day trip (or just eat-in on your balcony with meats, cheeses, and wine, which we did).

I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return if we are in the area again.

This is owned and managed by a second generation family hotelier and was one of the best hotel stays we have ever experienced.

Weekend outing with friends to Murten

We were a group of 3 friends staying in this hotel on a Friday night. The room was very clean and as described. We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet with swiss classics such as the Zopf bread and birchermuesli. The hotel is located in the beautiful, small old town of Murten. From the hotel you have a beautiful view of the lake below, which is no further than a 2 minute walk. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and plan to return in the future.

Brilliant stay in a stunning location

Lovely hotel, brilliant gentleman on Reception who helped a tired traveler out!!
My evening meal was delicious and the view is amazing from the restaurant and breakfast room.
English TV channels too, which was lovely at the end of the day.
Would love to go back for a holiday and look around the area.

The little town Is charming and has many little shops. We walked the wall and visited the little church. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting this area.

Great hotel, feels like a B&B

Murten is a cute little town to spend a night or two. We used it as a \"launch site\" for various day trips (Berne, Avenches). Hotel was clean, room was large with unique furniture in each room (not your standard hotel-issue furniture). My room even had a round bed! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and free parking and WiFi is VERY much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Do not stay at this hotel

I booked a 3 night stay but moved out after one night for multiple reasons.
Room was near a club that played loud music until 2 am. Rooms are small and dated, mattress was dirty and bathroom was flooded after a shower because of shower curtain too small.
Parking is a big issue in Murten. The hotel offers free parking but the spaces are mostly taken. Also the hotel has a parking but its not free.
The so called boss of the hotel is very rude and unprofessional. I have asked a simple question about parking restrictions. He didn't know and did not offer to ask someone who might know. I expect to receive this answer from a local business. All he offered was some unclear information and that he knows a million things but not this one. When I said I expect better service as a guest he said that he wish not to have me as a customer. I travel a lot and nobody ever told me that I am not welcome at a hotel. So I moved out and stayed in another hotel near by and I am so glad I did as it was much better and price was less.
I will never stay there again. It is too expensive for what they offer and the quality does not match the price. How guest are handled is disgraceful.

Great stay. Ability to park right near hotel within city was a big plus. Front desk was extremely helpful in assisting us with desired information. We had a room with a view of the lake and it was great. Their restaurant had the best location in the city from our perspective. Restaurant food was good and waiter service was excellent. Of course, we should note that we went in September when tourist season was wrapping up so it was not crowded.

Amazing little town with a great place to stay!

We loved the little town of Murten with its old world elegance and had a nice stay at the Krone Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful which was very welcoming to our family. The breakfast was great and included with the price of the room. There was a wide selection of everything from delicious breads, sandwich meats, cheese, cereal with fruit and plenty of other offerings to please all. I would highly recommend staying at the Krone and would definitely come back again.

Reception und Gemeinschaftsräume sind wunderschön renoviert. Das Zimmer hingegen war eher Standard, klein, schmal, mit einem kleinen Fenster auf die Hauptstrasse nicht sinnvoll zu lüften, und ohne Klimaanlage - bei den aktuellen Sommertemperaturen recht unangenehm.
Das Frühstück war grundsätzlich in Ordnung. Vermisst habe ich warme Speisen wie z. B. Rührei (Crèpes waren vorhanden) und einen Fruchtsalat, der nicht nur aus Äpfeln besteht. Der Blick von der Frühstücksterrasse ist ziemlich spektakulär.
Alles in allem am Preis gemessen kein Highlight, aber in Ordnung.

L'hôtel est idéalement situé dans la vieille ville et juste à côté du château, il y a des place de parking disponible devant. Le personnel est très sympathique, le buffet de petit déjeuner est bien fourni. J'avais une chambre standard spacieuse et agréable, la literie est confortable et la salle de bains bien que petite fonctionnelle et très propre tout comme la chambre. J'ai passé un très bon séjour et je ne peux que conseiller cet hôtel.

Par contre la chambre était aussi spacieuse qu'un grand placard à balais (chambre individuelle il est vrai) et les murs fins comme du papier à cigarette... j' ai profité des ronflements de.mon voisin toute la nuit. Wir waren in jeder Hinsicht mit dem Aufenthalt zufrieden. Die zentrale Lage und nicht zuletzt der wunderschöne Ausblick auf den Murtensee ist ausgezeichnet bzw. eine Augenweide. Das 1. August-Menue mundete sehr gut.

Wir waren 2 Nächte im Murtenhof auf unserer Veloreise. Das Hotel und Restaurant sind sehr schön. Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, das Essen und die Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet sehr gut. Unser Zimmer war eher klein aber sehr sauber. Gute Lage im Städtchen.

Sehr schönes Hotel zum verweilen. Äusserst zuvorkommendes/freundliches Personal.

Leider hatte ich mein Zimmer zur Strasse hinaus. Auf Grund des Lärms, konnte ich nicht viel schlafen.

sehr schöne Lage

In sehr schöner Lage in der Altstadt von Murten gelegen. Unser Familienzimmer war sehr geräumig. Der Service ist gut.
