Breathtaking view of the lake and mountains from our room, the rooftop bar, and the ground floor restaurant. Our room wasn’t completely prepared when we arrived but they quickly remedied and brought us everything we needed and small touches like a welcome biscuit. Excellent customer service!

A very nice hotel, with very accommodating staff. Well located within Neuchatel and overlooks the marina. Plenty of open air eateries within 5 minutes walk. The room was excellent, although there are notices advising not to open the windows because of the insects- it was very interesting to see mayflies up close resting on the windows! I was on the 6th floor, the rooftop bar on the 7th floor is lively at the weekend and thus the 6th is not for light sleepers. I didn't eat here during my stay so cannot comment on the restaurant.

Beautiful area and hotel room was nice.
However, our room smelled really bad and asked the front desk repeatedly (about 3 times) to go clean it or fix the issue. Nothing was done until we complained for the 4th time where the cleaning person found out it was coming from the shower drain. Staff didn’t take me seriously until I complained a few times and found it annoying. I rarely complain and just was annoyed.

Best Western in Europe is leagues ahead of their US properties! The Hotel Beaulac was wonderful: helpful, multilingual staff; location convenient to the university and historic town center; abundant breakfast buffet; fine dining at lunch and dinner. I greatly enjoyed dining outdoors on the restaurant terrace and sharing drinks and light snacks with friends at Waves, the rooftop bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. Rooms are well soundproofed and the AC kept me nice and cool during Neuchâtel's dog days of summer. Strong water pressure in the bathroom, and the water runs hot almost immediately. The Nespresso machine and electric tea kettle in the room were an unexpected bonus. Rooms with a likeside view are the best - mine even had a small balcony with table and chairs, great for watching boats gliding in and out of the port. My minibar apparently wasn't a minifridge (or wasn't working?) so I couldn't chill my water. Apart from this very minor inconvenience I had a terrific stay. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable as always. Close to every kind of transport for my business and leisure activities. Friendly service at the front desk, very accomodating. Got a reasonably good fare for my stay, which I welcomed since the Beaulac usually is on the “this shouldn’t be that expensive” side. Any nitpicks? I’d say the service at the Waves lounge was a bit weak this time. Wil return for sure.

Great location and room - disappointing service

Great room - I had booked a junior suite.

Despite this expense it was disappointing to arrive (early around 1am) and find that all the parking spaces were reserved and that there was no availability to eat in the hotel that evening. Reception did their best to find me somewhere 15 minutes drive away but I was amazed that a) I didn’t get an email from the hotel to highlight that availability would be an issue and b) that they’ve not managed to be able to provide dining facilities for all guests. Other hotels I’ve stayed at in the past few weeks have managed this well with dual slots over dinner.
Also because they’d decided to use the rooftop terrace as a restaurant in the evening (yet still not enough availability!) there was nowhere to sit and have a drink in the hotel other than your room.

Finally, every time I had to go to reception there was a queue of 15 mins or more. Mainly because there is no concierge desk and reception are not just checking people in or out but also fulfilling this role and answer guest queries. Not good for a 4 star hotel.

Great location next to the lake, the room was great and the reception team did their best. Seemingly just poorly managed but of course they will always do well because of the location. It’s just a shame as it could be a really great hotel!

Perfect location and a fabulous rooftop bar. Friendly and helpful staff and spacious well appointed rooms. Probably the best place to stay in Neuchatel unless a 5 star rating is important to you. Like other hotels in Neuchatel the Beaulac offers a tourist card that delivers free public transportation, even a cruise on the lake and multiple museum and sights entries in the region.

Staff does not help you with luggage.

There is a strong, overwhelming air freshener throughout the hotel. It’s so strong it gave me a headache.

The first room we were given smelled like mold, the second didn’t have a carpet so maybe thats why it didn’t have such a bad smell.

The sheets felt like sand paper against my skin. Horrible feeling. I couldn’t wait for morning so I could get out of there.

I only stayed one night- I pity the people that booked non-refundable stay longer than one night.

Great Stay. Check in was fast and efficient. Staff was gracious and didn’t cringe at my attempts to use my high school French. The room was clean and comfortable. A slight problem with the shower was fixed immediately. I would recommend requesting a room facing the water. My room faced the front of the hotel and it was a little noisy on the weekend but not unreasonable. Very nice rooftop bar with a view of the water. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

It's my second time visit after yrs for our 10th anniversary and received worst service ever. It takes more than 15mins to send up our luggage after check in. After, I walk down to reception to make reservation at their restaurant Lakeside. Elodie (same lady help with our luggage) ask me to walk to the restaurant and make reservation myself. I provide her my room number and ask nicely again. She rejected directly and request me walk over to the restaurant next door. Until I ask\"If I can sign the bill to the room?\" She answers\"yes because you are a hotel guest\". I'm confused and ask why can't she assist in this case. Then she finally p/u phone and call unwillingly. I ask if she can make a 2nd room key and she request my ID. When I was searching my passport copy on my phone, she didn't even look and said rudely she need a physical copy. She tries to argue until I explain to her the passport copy have my face on so she can verify. (she should know better the hotel lift need key access which I don't have one at that point). She literally rolled her eyes and make me an additional key after she look at my phone.
The other day is another nightmare. The housekeeping knock loudly on the door before standard check out time ( ard 10 45), and within 3 seconds she break into the room before we try to answer. It's very obvious we are in the room as both music and TV were on. Lucky we are just packing our bags and ready for check out but were shocked with the hotel standard.

Our stay (October 8-11, 2016) was wonderful & amazing. The property (located directly on the Nauchatel See) and our room was clean, the food and service (by all persons, and by Rafael in particular) in the restaurant was excellent, and the service at the front desk was helpful and the best we have experienced in a long time. The property is close to all transportation stops, 10 minutes from the train station and adjoining to the shopping district. Our room was beautiful, well lit and appointed, and the washroom and shower was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel and we would certainly go back to this hotel when travelling there again.

Great hotel, amazing location with fantastic views

We spent a night here in August en route to the Alps in a king suite with fantastic views over the lake. We had 2 adults and 2 children in our party and the suite was very bright and roomy with great facilities and an amazingly spacious and well fitted bathroom. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant overlooking the lake and breakfast out in a cafe in the centre of Neuchatel which was buzzing on a Saturday morning. We would love to come back for a longer break soon.

Hotel was being renovated which was not mentioned when booking. Marks for hotel would have been higher had it not been for this. Room was fine except it was too warm and air conditioning was not working in the hotel (told it was because it was winter). Only Swiss style plugs which most plug converters do not have. Surprised that a hotel of this class did not have European plugs as well - disappointing. I would stay again in the future as I think hotel would be operating better.

Building site by the see.

The hotel was a less a hotel and more a building site. Had this been known at time of making thr reservation I certainly wouldn't have booked it at all. The sound proofing needs improving - air-condition vents enabled noise to circulate far too easity, I was truly impressed at the stamina of the couple who were have a whale of a time and whose expolits were amplified for the entertainment or horror of all.. Not a hotel to take children, altho this too might have been a consequence of the building work. Extremely limited parking (5 places only) is a shame but cheap public parking is available 50 metres down the road. In its current condition in my view its not worth its star rating nor its price but all said and done we stayed just one night and the dust and overall mess didnt extend to the room which was comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Reklamation nach 1 Stunde.

2. Reklamation nach 1 weiteren Stunde.

Gemäss technischem Mitarbeiter ist die Etage nicht beheizt, man müsse das zentral „einstellen“ !?

Reklamation beim Chef de Service wurde teilnahmslos entgegengenommen???

Auf der 6. Etage „lagerten“ zwei Tablet mit Essenreste 24 Stunden auf Fussboden vor einem Zimmer.

Das Reinigungspersonal welches diverse male auf der Etage waren interessierte dieser „Abfall“ in keinster Weise.

UNMOTIVIERTES, anscheinend UNGESCHULTES und UNGEFÜHRTES PERSONAL !!!

Zum Abschluss wurde uns das bereits bezahlte Zimmer nochmals in Rechnung gestellt ?!
