Room was clean and had everything you’d need in a tourist class hotel and more: comfortable bed, desk and chair, separate chair and coffee table, free WiFi, and in-room coffee. Gracious front-desk staff, great location near the old town, and even a free upgrade because the hotel wasn’t full. A great value in a tourist hotel! Would stay there again!

I contacted the hotel prior to my arrival to advise that I needed power by the bed for a medical equipment machine. When I arrived, I discovered that there was a variety of different power outlets but all very old and damaged and none of them fitted the various adapters I had when I went to request assistance from reception they told me I needed to get on a bus and go into the centre of town and buy a suitable adapter which I did however none of the shops had a UK to Swiss . The receptionist was very rude and had no intention of helping out in the situation.

Nice property, nice room, nice area and friendly staff. Great breakfast. If you’re a light sleeper, be forewarned that church bells across the street ring every 15 minutes all night long, and busses run directly by the hotel. Earplugs helped.

The hotel was neat and tidy but not too big. There was no facilities in the hotel and breakfast was not included. It was a hot day but we had no air conditioner but a small fan.
Overall the hotel was ok, staff friendly and for the price, I have stayed at better hotels.

I have stayed at this hotel before.
It is in a lovely spot in the old town with everything close by, restaurants and sightseeing.
Breakfast is plentiful with scrambled eggs and bacon as a hot choice as well as continental.
The rooms are clean but beginning to look shabby.
Paper cups instead of china mugs for hot drinks.
No frills.
I would say it’s a low 3 star.

We have stayed here a number of times because it is right across the street from the historic cathedral and and easy walk to the Old City down below. They have paid parking but if you have any mobility issues this is not the place for you.

A good hotel !

A pleasant hotel with very friendly staff. Lots of shopping areas around, and walking distance from the train station. Got a simple room which is not large but still of reasonable size. It had a proper desk to work, a wardrobe and good wifi. The only downside in my opinion is the water saving shower head, that blows so much air that it's cooling you (maybe nice in summer but not in winter).

We were there to attend a high school reunion, and the hotel was a reasonably priced option for everyone. The location couldn't be more convenient. The breakfast was very good, although I would have preferred the bacon more cooked. The service was excellent throughout the hotel. I recommend the street-view rooms over the less expensive courtyard ones if you are staying more than one night. We will stay again for sure.

The hotel is a little old but comfortable with modern conveniences. It sits at the bottom of the main street for shopping and restaurants with a nice view of the cathedral across the street. Very easy access to a few restaurants — all walking distance. It was a couple of hot nights with no air conditioning so we had to open the windows. It was a bit noisy with some late night traffic but it died down and we got good sleep. Staff is superb, friendly, and anxious to help. Can’t ask for a better stay in sleepy (?) Fribourg.

Reception was very welcoming. We had an issue on first night and afternoon receptionist was able to help us in a very efficient and professional manner, and with a smile. It made our next few nights much more comfortable. We did not have breakfast at hotel, opting to have out in town. Hotel location convenient to old town, museums, eateries etc. Love the outside seats, especially in late afternoon where it was shaded and cool and you can watch the people in the streets. Great view of the cathedral. Bells were not an issue. Transport easy. We did upgrade to a comfort room as the economy did not suit us.
Recommend to stay.

All this could be because of the church bells waking me up on the hour, every hour... not the hotel's fault, however if the room had an air conditioner, i'd have had the windows closed...

Excellent Fribourg Hotel

Lovely hotel in the heart of the Fribourg Altstadt. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is well worth the cost as the selection and quality rivals many other hotels where I have stayed. The hotel has no dedicated parking but on street parking can be found and the staff will explain how to pay for that. I would not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to Fribourg.

Easy for old town

The hotel is really convenient for the centre of Fribourg. It is walking distance from the station but is also within an area that has multiple places to park (really handy for my friend who had a car). Our room had a view over the cathedral but we could walk to the city walls and the old town. The staff were helpful and friendly.

I loved the location and the day staff was very caring and helpful (called taxis several times and would help me to naviguate in the town.
However, the night staff was unfriendly (not even saying hello) and the check in took 35 minutes and was done wrongly.
It had to be corrected by the day team.
Finally, the rooms do not look like the pictures at all. They are very ancient and not renovated. The matress was however really good and the pillows too.
The manager explained to me that not all the rooms were renovated but that the ones on the second floor are so think about it when booking!
Overall, you pay for what you get.
I was travelling for business and will be back to this hotel when needed.

I booked a superior room and my room was NOT as described and on the pictures. The pictures I saw while booking were showing a bright and large room with a separate sitting area. My window faced a wall and the only equipment available was a desk and a chair (on which the lamp was broken). I mentioned this to the staff and instead of a solution or an apology, I was met with indifference and with an explanation that I was wrong and that my bed was apparently a few centimeters larger than a regular single bed. You can do better...

We were in the room facing the town square. the two, beautiful, huge churches had some amazing bell towers. They rang and unsleepable levels every 15 minutes, all night long. One of the worst nights of sleep in awhile. Be sure to get a room that does NOT look right at those two church towers.

I had a wonderful time. The hotel is very centrally located 2-3 bus stops from the main train station, and just beside the Bas-Ville. Very easy to find it and very comfortable interior.
The room was kept very clean, the bed was comfortable (this is important as I have chronic pain and a bad bed can ruin both a holiday and my health) and had everything I needed.

The bath design was a big strange (hard to climb in and out of) and the room has no air conditioning, but otherwise very comfortable.

Good place to stay for a short break. Well located fr restaurants and sightseeing. The room we had was directly opposite the church. Very helpful young lady at reception when we arrived. We asked for a late check-out the next day which was granted to 1pm. Didn't have the breakfast as the walk to local cafes was near enough. Parking can be a challenge - we were lucky to find a spot by the hotel and as we could walk everywhere left the car there until we needed to leave.

Nice Hotel very centrally located without noise and close to the main Cathedral and some very important museums. Very close to some excellent restaurants. The internet facility is very easy to access and has very good speed. The Hotel itself is very clean and it's architecture is very traditionally Swiss. The staff is very friendly and the rooms provide nice extras like slippers and the like. Th bathroom has all the necessary amenities and a good hair dryer.

Very nice hotel, but not for light sleepers

Spent one night here during a drive across Switzerland. The room was very nice and is located in the perfect area for walking. The only downside is the church bells. For some reason they rang at 2220 at night for about 5 minutes, waking us up for the next several hours. Be sure to skip the \"room with the view\" at the front and sleep in the back rooms for a quieter and more restful experience.

Nice hotel near to everything in Fribourg

This hotel has a good ubication in town. Is about 15 minutes by walking to train station and 5 minutes to \"nightlife\" area.
Very close to stores and good room prices if you get it by Expedia.
Beds are narrow like any other hotel in Switzerland and we were not lucky to have an useful security box in room.
Air extractor in bathroom was not working either.
Its very clean and guest service is very good.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. The room was lovely with nice older features being kept even though the room has been renovated. Bathtub is nice. A small fridge for some cold drinks would have been a nice extra. Only downside was a noisy fan outside the window, and the window needed to be open since the hotel has no a/c.

We stayed there a week. Hotel is near museums, historic churches, sculpture park, walkways to charming parts of city. Good breakfast buffet-costs extra but well worth it.
