We enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn. Their front office staff are great but Serena is amazing. Any question I had she answered thoroughly and she anticipated our next leg and had samples waiting for us to choose the trains we liked best and their departure times. It made it so easy to book the correct train and time. I asked if there was ice and she said no but got a bag of ice for us each day we were there. She went above and beyond everyday and never tired of us asking questions. She is a huge benefit to Holiday Inn. Her outstanding service makes me want to stay there every time we go to Switzerland.

This was a great stay as we were traveling through Switzerland on our way to France. Amazing location, as the train station is right outside the door, and there is direct access to the mall for eating and shopping. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff are super friendly!

The first room shower drain didn't work and nearly floodwd the bathroom.

The 2nd room had no soap in the dispensers and the air conditioner was stuck at 25 C (very uncomfortable unless you like to sleep naked without blankets).
Staff was sympathetic but in the end nothing they ckuld do and was too late in the evening to change rooms again. Hotel manager reached out after comment sent to Corporate and insulted my ability to operate an air conditioner rather than try to remediate the issue. NOT worth the 200 CHF for the room, restaurant was really nice but expensive too. 80 CHF for 2 Chicken Caesar Salads and 2, 100ml glasses of wine.

Comfortable hotel with a perk!

Our family of 6 enjoyed staying at the Bern-Westside Hotel. It's comfortable, clean, and attached to a mall, and we received a 3-hour ticket to enjoy daily the Bernacqua Water Park located inside the mall. The kids and I had a blast! Public transportation to Bern’s Old Town is plenty and about 20 minutes. We recommend this hotel! PS: the only downside is that we requested foldable beds for our rooms to accommodate 2 children (16 and 11 years old) and the hotel staff said that it was not possible. When we got there, there were 2 foldable beds in two of the 3 rooms that we have booked. Thus, we booked unnecessarily the third room after the staff said that each room could accommodate only 2 guests.

The train ride from main Bern station to Bern Westside is short. Definitely take advantage of the Bern visitor card the hotel gives you! Excellent location and the staff are sooo wonderful!

Was a great stay for 2 nights. Had no clue we got access to the waterpark attached to the shopping Centre there so that was a bonus for the kids. Rooms were clean and quiet. Had an issue with a leak from our AC dropping onto the floor but staff were quick to offer us a change of rooms. She even found us in the restaurant to bring us the key and explain what happened. Easy parking in the shopping Centre lot underground as well. Definitely recommend.

The highlight of our stay was service from staff. Everyone is really warm, welcoming and helpful.

Location is very convenient as just opposite a tram and train station.

Hotel has a tie-up with Bernaqua which is really nice.

Hotel is attached to a mall so ample options for food and drinks.

Pictures on Expedia were misleading and the standard room is very crammed especially if one need an extra cot. Even executive rooms are bit tired and design is awkward specially of the bathroom door. It’s impossible to not disturb everyone if there is a need to use bathroom at night or early morning; because the door is a sliding glass door which does not stop light and sound.

A great and extremely convenient place to stay ‼️

Unbelievably quiet room, very clean and the location is ideally situated for access to public transport and convenient shopping without having to step outside.
Get a map for the parking garage to find your way out, the validated pass does not open all gates! The bath towels are great for defoliation and if you are looking for a USB port in the room, let me know where to find one. My hint to you is: If you look for one behind the pictures on the wall, you will be done quickly, because there is only one small minimalist one. Other than that, I can highly recommended this hotel and I would not not mind staying there again if my relatives in the neighborhood have no room for me. It was a wonderful stay indeed!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quite friendly staff. The property has easily assess to both the shopping mall and public transport. The buffet breakfast had good selection of food and they were refill constantly. Unfortunately, the breakfast area was invaded by flys and while we were having the breakfast, we had to chase away the flys all the time. The hotel room we got had also an unpleasant smell.

It was nice that the staff provided free transportaction tickets for us to se their buses and trains within Bern.
But the bathroom design was awful. The sliding glass door didn’t close, it was only partially frosted and anyone that you are sharing the room with can see you showering and using the toilet. The door was not soundproof either! The shower itself was only half glassed so water would go all over the floor.

Stayed to watch an ice hockey game with my 14 year old son, chose hotel as it is next to a mall and water park/spa and didn't disappoint
The hotel provide free passes to the aqua park and IRS great fun but also really relaxing and very cool
The mall is ok, the location is great as it's at the end of the tram line making it really easy to get into the beautiful town

Easy to find. Right at the end of a streetcar line - never more than 7 minutes to catch a ride into the heart of the old city. The hotel gives guests 3 hours free in the water park in the mall that it is attached to - and it is hufe and amazing!!! For adults too - heated pool with a lazy river in it! The breakfast was really nice too!

Great place to stay to see Bern/Switzerland

I highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and pretty modern. No complaints about service. The hotel's location is right across from the train station, and trains every 15 min will take you to the main train station in Bern. It's really easy to access Bern from here, or connect to other trains to take day trips to other cities, especially Interlaken and the Berner Oberland. The hotels Interlaken / Berner Oberland were too expensive, so we stayed here for a much lower price and used our rail passes to take day trips. Highly recommended!

Make sure you get what you asked for

Initially, we were disappointed right at room entrance. I had requested a room with a BATHTUB and we were given a room with a shower. This was requested at my initial reservation under Hotels.com. I had also asked for info on parking which wasn't available on their website. No one returned my email for the parking info. When we called front desk about the shower vs. tub, they made a big deal about \"upgrading\" us to accommodate my wishes. No upgrade would have been necessary if the room reservation was handled correctly from the beginning. They were very 'wordy' about how they were going out of their way to 'make you happy' (her words). Anyway, when we finally got to the correct room, it was very nice. Clean, comfortable, big tv screen with lots of choices, a mini bar (which we remove all their stuff and put in our own drinks to refrigerate) and rolladen (window shutters) that we could regulate during the day to take a nap. Great plus.

the room was significantly overpriced. for almost 160 EUR we were put in so called four star hotel room, that has a bathroom (and toilet!) separated by a sliding piece of glass that was put in place of doors. if you are looking forward to coming back to the hotel after a romantic dinner and listening and watching how the person staying with you is using the toilet this room is for you. otherwise AVOID!!! I still cannot get my head around the fact someone can design room like this in what I thought was civilised country.

Good Alternative to stay in the Bern Area

The hotel is beside a train station on the west side of the city but they provide day passes for public transport to reach downtown (10 minutes by train and 20. By tram). A mall is next door with restaurant options and the hotel provides access to the pool and fitness center.
The restaurant is good and the breakfast buffet is ok, although they ran out of foodoptions one day and didnot replenish.

Good hotel for transport connections

A friend and I travelled to Bern for a football match and this hotel suited our needs well. Although out of town it is located at a tram terminus and mainline train station. The journey to the centre of Bern is 25 mins by tram and 6 minutes by train. Services are frequent and the hotel (in common with others we believe) gave us a free travel pass for all transport systems in the city.

We had a really lovely 25th silver wedding anniversary stay at this very friendly hotel. Staff very kindly upgraded our room to executive and offered us a free drink to celebrate our anniversary. Room was clean, and tidy and contained everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Located to the Westside shopping centre for excellent shopping and entertainment complex. Trains and tram run every 10-20-minute from right outside hotel into the centre of Bern. Would recommend for families with older children, probably nt for young children though.

A BOUTIQUE HOTEL

IT WAS INTERESTING TO STAY AT THE HOTEL PORTION OF A COMMUNITY CENTRE PROVIDING SHOPPING AND RECREATION IN A SINGLE ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX DESIGNED BY A STAR ARCHITECT. THE HOTEL WAS NEW AND WAS WELL PRICED BY BERN STANDARDS. THE ROOMS WERE GENEROUS IN SIZE AND WITH MODERN FINISHING. SINCE THE COMPLEX IS SEPARATED FROM THE NEW HOUSING AREAS, TOURING THE INTERIOR IS WORTH WHILE BUT BEFORE GOING ON TO VISIT THE DOWNTOWN OF BERN.
HAVING ARRIVED BY CAR, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO MAKE USE OF THE FREE RIDE TICKETS TO THE CITY CENTRE.

The hotel was good in every respect - ease of access to city centre, near good eating place etc. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the bathroom had a glass door - this is fine if a couple are staying in the room, but not so good if you have a third person with you in the room. The hotel is very good for a city break. Overall I would say a good place to spend a night or two.

Excelent option for visiting Berna

The hotel is located in a surrounding neiborhood of Berna but it have in front of the door a train station and a city trolley that take you to Berna Downtown in 20 minutes. The hotel provide the tickets for the trolley so it works very conveniently. It is located inside a shopping mall so it make the location convenient for shopping travelers. Inside the shopping mall there are a water park that is the best surprise. The hotel provided free entrance to the water park. It was very funny in special for my teen agers. Breakfast was very good in the hotel.

Hotel was very nice, especially the room-specific thermostat. It's a bit away from the downtown area, but it attached to a mall with a waterpark. We were pleased to find out that passes to the waterpark were available for free at the front desk. In all, we were very satisfied with the accommodations for the price.

Not as seemless as last Fall's first stay. Additional \"tax\" charge on checkout of 68 CHF. Beds hard. No English speaking clerk on checkout. Extremely convenient to train stop, and a short 10 min ride to HBf (main train station). If you take the red trolly train, it is only 15m to HBf. The HBf is the hub to get anywhere in the city. There is a grocery store in th HBf, and one in the West Side Mall adjacent to the hotel. Very convenient. I'd stay there again.

The hotel is very nice, and adjacent to the Bern West mall. The train stop to the HBf is immediately across the plaza. The staff are excellent, and the location is convenient (10 min) by train to the main station and city center. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and in good condition. Power converters are available at front desk on request with a deposit. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, there are several restaurants in the adjacent mall. Recommended, and I would stay there again.

I wasn't expecting much from a Holiday Inn but it was way above what I expected. Perfect condition, not a mark on any wall, facilities superb, great staff, comfortable well equipped room, free internet. Best of all was the restaurant - the food and staff were some of the best I have experienced in a hotel, even some the high end ones. I travel a lot for business and this is genuinely one of the best hotels I have stayed in particularly for the price which is quite modest by Swiss standards.

So far, the best Holiday Inn I have stayed ever. The hotel was way above my expectations. A great place to stay for a visit to Bern, just in the front door you have the train that tales you down town in 6 minutes. Highly recomended, also next to a mall with lotes of alternative restaurants.

The hotel is far from the city, but very well connected. Close to (inside) a shopping mall, but not many dining options and all quite expensive. The room was very clean and well-kept, but cold, sterile and not cozy. The heating was poor. No minibar. Limited TV channel selection. Poor internet service when the hotel is full. Restaurant and reception staff very helpful and polite. Overall a fair choice for business lodging.

Nice hotel with shopping centre attached.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Upon request they delivered a baby bad to our room with its own matching linens. The room was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

Still good

We stayed at the holiday Inn two years ago and were impressed with location and service then. It is still good. We were able to take the train into Bern and do some sightseeing and the west side complex gave us shopping and restaurants.

Easy to get around

This is a really good hotel, located inside the shopping centre. Although this has no disadvantages. Car Parking is also on site. Easy to get into Bern, with a tram stop right outside and only 15 minutes into town. Rooms are quiet and with just the right amount of space.

Great place for a stay! Clean and comfortable.

We spent three nights here. The location is great. A quick 8 minute train ride to Bern. Staying at the hotel gives you 2.5 free hours at the adjacent water park, which was superb! The hotel restaurant staff and food were great! The connected mall had a nice food court, migros (supermarket), movie theaters and great shopping.

We were able to take day trips to visit Bern and vicinity one day, Jungfrau/ Interlaken one day and Montreaux/ Lausanne one day and still have time to play at the water park at the end of the day.

Good value

Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find off motorway.Train to town across the road. Shopping centre next door, good for breakfast, as hotel breakfast is expensive. Parking underground. Excellent wifi. Not much in the way of restaurant choices nearby.

Great Service and value for money stay hotel!

I am very happy with Holiday Inn Bern Westside Hotel especially their helpful service to the tourist! I accidentally left my camera in the hotel room and only realized after a few days but once I contact the hotel, they immediately reply to me of the found camera and gave me advise for returning the camera. Very good service, good staff and convenient location. Highly recommended and for sure will re-visit the hotel again!

Perfect for travelling with a car

This was a modern and clean hotel on the outskirts of Bern. The room was very nice and air conditioned, which was a godsend in the hot weather. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, as it was a bit pricey, but there is a mall next door with restaurant options and you can get a pass to the waterpark there from the hotel. There is public transit from the mall as well that goes right to the centre of Bern in half an hour. It was easy to get to off the highway and we could park our car in the mall parking while exploring the city by public transit. Overall we had a great stay.

Well located nice hotel

Good overall experience, excellent (can't be better) connectivity with Bern on tram and rail. Pleasant staff, especially Celine. Breakfast is good but the same everyday. Hotel is attached to Westside mall which makes a lot of regular shopping/food/atm easily accessible.
