Great little hotel in a very convenient location. Helpful staff, clean and modern rooms, good breakfast. Parking turned out to be pretty good as well, if you don’t mind waking up/down stairs to the nearby parking garage.

The room was kind of funky with a luminescent yellow wall that housed the washroom. We liked it! It was small, but had a fridge and even some nice amenities, like slippers. Sadly though, the noise outside the room was disruptive, even with ear plugs. There is a hostel nearby plus there was construction outside, across the street there at the end of October.

Location is perfect. Staff were kind and friendly. But the bathroom was very tiny and there was a constant sewer smell from the bathroom and heard a water coming down in the pipes when someone using bathroom from upstairs. I was glad I only stayed one night there.

We had to go out and buy our own non-dairy milk (and other breakfast provisions), which we then left in the hotel kitchen. The hotel never thought to recompense us for this.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found a lot to like about the area. The location was excellent—very walkable, with plenty of shops and places to eat right nearby, which made it really convenient to explore and enjoy the surroundings.

However, the hotel itself was a bit rundown and not as clean as I would have hoped. While it was a decent place in terms of convenience, the maintenance and cleanliness definitely left a bit to be desired.

Great location. Very comfortable bed. Odd washroom area. Ok breakfast. No hot food. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc etc. Ask to toast your bread as no toaster to use. No AC, so if hot out, will be a problem. It was very hot in our room upon arrival. They provide a fan but with the room key functioning for electricity, once you leave the room fan shuts off. It did eventually cool down as we were there in Sept but keep that in mind.

Look in. That was not convenient and uncomfortable. Sofa Chair was broken we couldn’t sit on it. Poor lighting only one switch for all or none. The bathroom has an etched glass you can see the shadow of the person showering so if you are with other family members it might be uncomfortable too. That obligated us to shower with the light off so our sillohoutte wouldn’t be seen. It was ok stay.

We had a street facing room. The weather was very, very hot and all they could offer was a fan that squeaked and couldn't offer a replacement. We were forced to sleep with the windows CLOSED because the club across the street was playing loud music all night, outdoors under the arcade, and the noise of the (amplified) music and the people was unbearable. We were forced to choose between the noise or sweltering. We chose to leave the next day rather than spend a second night like that. This is not the fault of the ownership or staff (except for the condition of the fan), but people need to understand the conditions here before they book. Definitely ask for a room not facing the street.

Perfect location, very central. A few minutes walk from the bear pit and River Aare. About ten mins walk from the train station. Easy check in, comfy beds. The bathroom was a bit different but clean and usable. Simple breakfast with nice coffee. Great value and we enjoyed our stay.

The location was great - so close to sights and public transportation options, shops, outdoor markets, etc. The rooms are more basic than I expected. The bathroom is like a closet - no real privacy. They provide earplugs, which I thought was nice, considering how loud it is. Without air conditioning, you really need the windows open to get fresh air. I had to sleep with Bluetooth earbuds to drown out the noise from the restaurants below. We got the family room and I expected a little more space based on the website. The breakfast spread was very nice. Just pointing these things out for anyone who is a light sleeper or who needs cool air to sleep. The people were very nice and I can’t say enough about the great location.

Parking is near in the garage and the hotel provides a great rate. Park the car and leave it. You don’t need it unless leaving town. Train station is nearby and perfect for a day trip to Zermatt.

The only plus point about the hotel was the location.

The buffet breakfast was limited to breads, cheese , yogurts. There wasn’t any warm food like scrambled eggs etc

The room wall was think and we could hear others people talking in their room.

They do not change towel daily and the hotel is kind of old.

Compared to all the other hotels I stayed in Switzerland , this was disappointing

This hotel is in a great neighborhood. So easy to walk around town and get to the train station. It was clean and they are eco friendly. My only complaint was it was so hot and they don’t have air conditioning. They provide small cooler that just made it muggy. I’m sure it’s great if it’s not the middle of summer. I would stay again any other months.

I enjoyed my stay, once I got there. Because its a small town, no car, one way street kind of place - Not too GPS friendly, its a little hard to find. Theres a couple of parking garages if you have a car. Make sure they communicate precisely which one gives you their hotel discount and how to get to it. Pain in the neck to park, walk back, go get your car to load up- the the little town of Bern is cute and the hotel was fine other than that.

Overall a very nice property ideally located in city center of Bern. Would have given a 5 star had we been informed that the room we rented was a top floor room with a very low sloping ceiling above the bed which meant you had to bend over and duck to avoid hitting your head. Hard to remember when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Sorry for the detail but thought you might want to know.

The hotel is at the heart of old town Bern. It’s convenient to walk to everywhere.

Our room is a beautiful large room with a really vintage balcony. You get a great view of the old town buildings with red roof tiles, it was like right out of fairytale.

Breakfast was included which was really convenient. The selection was not huge but sufficient.

Despite our room being huge, the bathroom was small, and a makeshift glass divided room. It does not have real walls.

I enjoyed my stay here, loved the balcony view, and had a good time in Bern.

It was a nice surprise with the place . It was so close to the Einstein house and other places to walk or take Tram. Even to train station it was easy by Tram. Hotel was nice, staff was very good. Breakfast was good with lot of options. Loved walking the streets and it was very safe even at night. Room was big enough for our family . Restroom was remodeled looks like but they forgot to put locks and should add more privacy to the bathroom . Would definitely visit again.

Initial room given to us was 32C, while outside it was only 23C. Curtains in the room were dishevelled and partly off the rod. The toilet was literally arms length from the side of the bed. We asked to change rooms because of the stifling heat. The duty manager was able to move us into a slightly cooler room and provided a fan. Breakfast was quite good though. All up disappointing for the price. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a great location

The hotel is well located within easy walking distance from the station and with lots of local restaurants and shops around it. The area is very popular with young people which makes it pretty noisy until around 1am. Breakfast was great. My only complaint is that the TV could not pick up English speaking channels and no-one at the hotel could fix it (so they gave me a slightly reduced rate). Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.The location is perfect for central Bern and very close to trams and busses. The only down side was that the room was just above a sidewalk cafe. A party went on until 4.a.m. We had to close the windows because of the noise and smoke. Closing the windows made us uncomfortable with the summer heat as there were only fans and no air conditioner. I suggest you ask for a room that does not open to the street in summer times. Otherwise it was a perfect place to stay.

We stayed one night and really enjoyed the location. The hotel is in the middle of town on a street with many restaurants and shops (walking only street although cars can drop off passengers and bags). We really enjoyed walking through the city. Parking was very convenient a block away in a very large (and empty) parking garage with a discounted rate through the hotel. The room was large but bathroom was tight (it was a pod that had been added to the room). Since the hotel (and city) is on the older side, there was no air-conditioning. We used the fans provided in the room, which worked well as we were on the second floor. The only issue was that it is a very busy street with restaurants that are open late so we had to close the window both late at night and in the early mornings (many deliveries). The breakfast was in the restaurant on the first floor and was good. Overall we had a great stay and would considering staying again.

I love how it is in walking distance to train station and is in the heart of history and the town. The staff was so kind and helpful. They even stayed open late for us. I think it is cool to say in oldest hotel in Bern, built in the 1500s I believe they said. You would never know it when you are in your room. Rooms are large, spacious, and modern. I loved how all 4 of us got our own bed in the room. If you stay on a weekend, be prepared to enjoy the night life or at least the sounds. Several restaurants are located on the street. Seems like the fun and popular place to be.

We did not sleep at all. The room was very hot when we arrived. The bathroom is some sort of plastic box inserted in the room. Not bad in itself, but not well ventilated and the room became very humid after our showers. The room gave on the streets where terraces at open most of the night and then busy construction work takes over. There was one pair of ineffective earplugs.
The room is not bad but if we cannot sleep, it's not a good hotel.

This hotel has a great location, but that's about it. I was given an extremely small room, with barely enough room to walk around the bed. To make things worse, the switch on one of the table lamps was broken, making the light flicker constantly. Then, I discovered that the shower drain was slow and the shower stall almost overflowed on everything. Fortunately I caught it, paused the shower for awhile, and completed my shower that way.

When I mentioned what had happened to the front desk, they said \"Oh yeah, we know about that.\" Nothing even close to \"Thanks for catching that and preventing the shower from flooding the whole floor.\"

On my two week trip, this was the most expensive and least desirable hotel that I stayed at. Not recommended at all, at least until the staff realizes that they are in business to provide service to their customers.

P.S. The breakfast was poor, too.

Good location in Old Town. However, when a hotel puts ear plugs on your pillows it signifies \"beware\" noise on the horizon. Spent four nights and each night was progressively louder because of restaurants below setting out tables street-side and playing loud music until 11:00 PM each evening. Rooms very small, distance between the end of the bed and the wall was less than 12 inches, no fridge, no closet...etc.
