Staff was friendly and helpful. The common area was nice and accommodating. Luggage room had locks to secure your luggage in case you arrive early or need to depart later. The espresso machine was very very nice for us to get our drinks 24/7!! We were so happy that there's an elevator all the way to the 6th floor where our room was. The roof terrace was one flight of stairs up from there and it gave us a nice view of Old Town Bern. Highly recommend staying here.

This is such a great place!
ok, rooms are slightly small but given the price and location and amenities, it is value for money

1) we love that the rooms have no TV
there are manual crossbows in the rooms which we play with our kids just before bedtime

2) close proximity to eateries
the xmas market was just right infront of the hotel
we loved the atmosphere!

Rivalto, an italian restaurant nearby serves great pasta as well

3) we love the communal kitchen!! traveling with a big group of 6 meant eating out is expensive and often may be hard to find seats

we love that we are able to cook in the communal area where coffee n hot chocolate and sparkling water is free flow!!

everything is smart in this hotel. after online check in, I could use my phone as a key to open the gate and the door of my room. the public area is beautiful with a huge kitchen. the rooftop is nice and I could enjoy myself with a drink. it is at the centre of the city so it is convenient but a bit noisy at night at there are some restaurants and bars down below.

My son loved this place for the common areas and games room. The room itself was very much like a hostel or dorm room- not what we were expecting for the price. Basically a bed, sofa bed and an all in one bathroom (no separate shower so water just floods the whole thing). No amenities in the room, no tv but the common area have everything. Seems like a great place for young travellers. The location is excellent though.
No staff on site and the keys were an app which didn’t work well at all- not my favorite.

I didn’t do online check in right and it screwed rest of stay. No orientation on arrival everything was supposed to be online. Didn’t find room lamp for 2 days. Didn’t know you could use refrigerator. Had to keep hand on hair dryer or it fell out of socket. No sheet or linen change on my short stay so I was suriwhen I was woken during nap asking if I wanted room clean.

Very tiny room. There was no bathroom: the water closet had the toilet, a sink was in the main room, and shower was accessed from the desk area, hence when exiting the shower you stood next to the desk.

The only chair in the room was the desk chair, and there is no tv in the room.There is barely enough room to get around the bed. Finding space for the suitcases was challenging. The room is best suited for a single person.

The check in process is on-line, so if your phone doesn’t work, it’s challenging.

The perfect hotel on a budget! This place has hostel vibes in the best possible way. The rooms are small but incredibly clean, modern, and pretty. The bedding was fluffy and so comfortable, and the shower was hands down my favorite of our entire Europe trip.

While there isn’t a fridge in the room, there’s a great common area with a kitchen and coffee/tea machines where you can prepare food. There are also lots of cozy sitting areas that make it easy to enjoy takeout or grocery store meals.

The location is fantastic—just an easy 8–10 minute walk from the train station, right in the beautiful old city of Bern. We were able to walk to all the major old city sights within 3–4 hours. On top of that, the shopping options in this area are endless—the best we experienced anywhere in Switzerland. There are also countless restaurants nearby and an immense selection of grocery stores, making it incredibly convenient for any type of traveler.

Our particular room was one of the few that looked directly out onto a cement wall. We mentioned this to the host, who kindly invited us to meet in the common area (likely to try to switch our room), but since we were only there briefly and had already gone out exploring, we didn’t follow up. Even so, we really appreciated that the host was open to feedback. And in the end, that room did have the upside of extra privacy and quiet compared to others.

I really enjoyed the cooking facilities and lounge area on the first floor. As my room as small it was a good place to relax when I wasn't out and about.

I was a little apprehensive about the digital keys on the app at first but it worked very well. I was very pleased to be able to access my room early as it was available and to be able to leave my luggage and continue to use the communal areas for 7 hours between check out for the room and 6pm. Much appreciated as my train was at 4pm.

Room was very quiet despite both the hotel and the area being busy. Lovely place to stay.

It is also a really convenient 3 mins walk from the station - once you get out of the labarynthine station complex.

Great place. Quirky yet comfortable rooms in a central location. I liked the the serviced communal areas on the first floor for preparing own food, gave it a youth hostel type feel. The presence of the helpful friendly hosts added to the charm of the place. The roof terrace with views of the mountains and the city were a favourite place to bring breakfast and start the day.

The room is cozy but small, very convenient location with shops, grocery stores, transportation and main attractions. Guest cards are excellent so you can save some money moving around town. Anicca is such an amazing host. There is a kitchen that can be used in the main lobby with coffee machine, tea, and microwave. Terrace has an amazing view from the city. Online check-in was easy and convenient and hotel keys were on the app for easy access to the facility. I would recommend this hotel.

The online check-in was fine, but accessing the doors using the online page was not the best option.
You have to connect to the free Wifi first, otherwise you might need to pay for internet connection (Switzerland doesn't adhere to the EU roaming as other countries in Europe).
Opening the external doors with the phone was not an issue, but the room wasn't as smooth, it always took us few tries before it worked. A bit annoying, but not a deal breaker.

The room is really small, so everything is tight, but it has everything you need and it's well kept and very clean.

The common area has free tea and coffee.
The wifi works well.
The location is fantastic, in the heart of the town, walkable distance from the train station.

Funky hotel, but very nice with large common areas. Totally contact-less (keys are on a phone app), about 10 minute walk from train station. Most tourist sites are close. Our room was a little odd (upper floor with sloped ceilinds, bed in middle of room). The bed was comfortable, and it's one of the few places we found with air-conditioning (slow, but it eventually made the foom nice on a hot day. But there is a kitchen area and refrigerator available for guests, as well as a free washer and dryer! The breakfast was very good with a nice variety.

Only Issue is the size of the room. No space to open your luggage. If they change the layout of the room it will be more spacious. Feels a little cramped. Better push the bed on one side rather than sticking the bed in the middle with Little to no space to walk around the bed.

This was a fantastic place to stay. The room itself was the perfect size for one, exceptionally clean and bright. The common area had lots of space, and the 24hr free lattes, tea and water were a welcome surprise. The kitchen area also looked well equipped. Additionally they allow you to access the amenities until 6pm on the day of checkout, which immensely streamlined the process. Rooftop patio also a bonus.
I will look for a stay kooook in my future travels and if ever in Bern again will choose to stay here.

Hard time with this review, hate to say anything negative as overall it was 7/10. The hotel was very clean, staff friendly, onsite \"Host\" very oleasant (small amount of staff as it is a self-serve hotel), location excellent!
Can be a noisy spot, popular restaurant/bar below so if you like windows open, it will be loud on weekends. Room was a bit stuffy, A/C didn't seem to work well, so it was hot with window closed.
Might return, but would need assurance A/C is working well. Parking is easy with the neighboring parkade, however, £40 /night.
Rooftop terrace gorgeous spot to drink wine as the sunsets, and coffee in the morning.

The rooms are comfy, and the roof top is really enjoyable if you were lucky like us wiht the weather!

We couldn't figure out how to make the glass not clear for the shower :)

However there were not many plug sockets in the room, so I recommend to bring a socket of your own with multiple USB slots to charge more than one phone over night.

Had a quick 2 day stay as a family of 4. The common areas and games room were a hit! A lot of restaurants nearby and very lively in the evenings. Train station is a short walk away. Roma were a good size for Europe. The shower is in the room, as opposed to a separate bathroom, so that was interesting. Also, the shower head was broken. Other than that, check in and check out were easy and would definitely recommend. One more pro, there is a washer and dryer which we were able to use.

Stay Kooook was exactly as advertised.

Pros:
-The hotel was right in the middle of the town with plenty of great restaraunts
-Check-in was very simply using your mobile device. Using the phone to unlock the different doors was very nice and ensured safety in an already safe area.
-They even had ice in the common area fridge. Most of the places we visited did not have ice but Stay Kooook had it ready for our beverages.

Cons: The shower was cool but a little transparent and my daughter had to look the other way while I showered. Or you can shower in the dark 😀.

Great self service city centre hotel with self check in via digital RFID keys to your phone.

Room was spacious, well ventilated and came with all necessary essentials. Yea, coffee and entertainment areas within the common zones (no TV or kettle in your room)

Room was exceptionally clean and towels and linen smelt fresh. Room was quirky and even came supplied with its own crossbow (maybe a Bern thing?)

Shower was powerful and enclosed inside a very unique mirrored shower unit. Toilet was separate which would be great for couples or duo-travellers.

Common room had freshly ground coffee and you were able to help yourself as required. Didn’t encounter any hotel staff while visiting but the premise is it’s all self service and experienced no problems checking in, finding my room or checking out.

Would highly recommend as a great hotel for a solo traveller wanting to take in Bern or as a stop gap between other areas of Suisse.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I especially liked the communal space, a great added bonus. A good location in the old town and close to the train station. Yes, I would recommend and stay there again.

Room was alright for 5 night stay.

The room was alright. There was not a kettle in the room so it would be nice if the kitchen had a kettle for guests to use.

Check-in and check out was pretty straight forward and location was close to the train station. There are several supermarkets nearby.
