Lovely place to stay

Lovely place with an excellent location straight opposite the beach. Friendly and very obliging staff. Only marked down on Eco-friendly as I didn't notice anything to warrant a higher score. Would definitely stay again it is a lovely hotel just lacked a couple of extras I would have liked such as tissues and bottles of water in the rooms

Ok but check elsewhere first!

Overall it was ok. The shower plug kept blocking up and overflowing and when we reported it to reception we were simply told “that’s what it does”. I suppose the hotel was ok. It’s old and needs seriously updating (with air con) but it’s clean and comfy. Would only go back if I had no where else to go! Although the outside space is more than adequate.

Friendly staff. Ideal location, 10min walk along the beach to centre of town. Very Dog friendly. Evening food was nice, breakfast was ok. Room size ideal for a family of four, not smaller as the kids are bigger. Only annoyance was our room was above the fan for the kitchen and it got really hot & noisy. But all in all, decent price for what we wanted

Welcoming staff at Reception. Fast friendly check in. Room was clean and comfortable.
Very dog friendly. Good breakfast with extra sausage for the dog.
Right opposite beautiful dog friendly beach. Nice walk along the promenade.
Ideal place to stay for short break.
We also was very lucky with the weather.

We had booked a nonsmoking room, and after not the best reception from the guy running the bar, we found our room. Sadly, we were met with an overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes and nicotene. The room was also very cramped. I could see my wife was quite upset about it all, so we asked for a refund and left. The landlady, to give her credit, was quite apologetic and offered us a part refund which we accepted.

Nice hotel if a little dated - the bathroom in particular could do with modernizing. But the room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, the staff were great and the food was excellent - especially the Full Welsh breakfast, very good quality and plenty of it! Would definitely stay here again.

A few days break with the dog.

We asked to move room as it only had a bath. We were advised to request a shower room i've never stayed in a hotel that hasnt had a shower!! The bath was chipped.
The rooms were tired looking, the beds uncomfortable with cheap mattresses.
The breakfast choice could be improved for the cost
The restaurant is closed on a Tues.
This a a Hotel!!!!

Superb location, Friendly Staff, Comfortable Clean Rooms if a bit dated but old building so no problem really. Dog friendly, drinks price reasonable given location. Only downside a little disappointed in the breakfast quality and quantity. States secure Motorcycle Parking but not really, ideally need to be out of sight covered and and lockable area. A little investment here could brink a lot more motorcyclist business if marketed.

Took ages to park as there were no free spaces until the next day, ended up miles away in neighbouring streets.
Room was average in need of upgrading and lost count of how many flies I swatted. Noisy guests above and right outside the door with disturbed sleep.

The min-y-mor hotel is beautifully located, on the sea front yet towards the quieter side of Barmouth, about a 5 minute walk away from the hussle and bussle of the town centre/fair/arcades.

It had well kept grounds and rooms. All of the staff were helpful and friendly however the only downside was the beds/pillows. They were incredibly hard so my partner and I often would wake up with sore backs and shoulders throughout the night and in the mornings.

Very Disappointed 4* Rated No Way

We were very disappointed with this Hotel. Hotel rated 4*, we would be lucky to rate it 2*. On arrival hotel receptionist offered breakfast, but would have only received this if we booked direct with them. Room we requested Quiet Room, was a joke. Doors slamming everyday, no respect for other residents. This Hotel is a Bar with rooms, bit like a nursing home setting. Food was ok, we asked for a wine list, but didn't have one, no dessert list either. They tried to overcharge me for drinks three times at the bar. Room was not clean, a lot of mould around windows and musky smell. No net curtain every time you got changed you had to draw the curtains. Lovely view from window, looking at derelict property with no windows upstairs, and property close by run down. The website bears no relation at all to the conditions in this hotel. We paid upfront for a week at this hotel, they took payment in June 2021, never done this before, and would be the last. Need to look more at reviews in future, as this time it was the worst holiday yet. We made the most of our holiday and got out and toured the area. We were really looking for a well earned break in a 4* as its been such a long time and my husband has been sheilding through the pandemic and recovering from Lung Cancer, I just don't understand how hotels with such a rating can get away with asking 4* rates when conditions are so bad.

Fabulous Hotel with Excellent Views

We booked here at short notice and the lady on reception was very welcoming indeed we had a lovely chat.
Room - our room was excellent and mondern very comfortable everything you needed was there

We had a lovely seaview from our room (11)

Outside Space excellent garden at the front of the hotel to enjoy a drink and just take in the wonderful seaview.

Would I stay or recommend to friends absolutely.

We tried to telephone the hotel we got a automated answer system asking which extension do we require no help - we tried emailing asking about dietary requirements, a birthday cake, etc no reply - we IM them with all the details they replied asking what dates then did not reply. Hotel was under repair, bar prices changed throughout the evening, food orders wrong, very very hot plate for child’s food (nearly burnt him) early morning (6am) woken by cleaners and bottles. Over priced, poor service for not booking directly

Two tier service, if you book directly with the hotel you are treated with a lot more warmly and with respect then if you booked through a hotel booking web site, the hotel seems to be run by a couple who complained to me that the hotel booking website takes a 20 percent fee, so was no way they were providing a free breakfast to guests who booked using that method, both of them also appeared to be more courteous , attentive and polite to “ their customers “ as opposed to the hotel booking website customers , instead of the free breakfast as a hotel booking website customer I was eventually offered a “breakfast bag” for £7.50 consisting of a bacon sandwich, a yoghurt, a small carton of orange juice and a mouldy satsuma, which probably cost no more then a couple of pounds to make if that, also for a 4 star hotel the room was small, there was no hangers in the wardrobe and the shower was one of those old fashioned ones , were you walk into the bath and control it from the taps , totally amazed at the prices they charge and the service they offer and the stars they have , if you go to Barmouth which is lovely, I suggest you stay in one of the b&b for a lot less money and better service

starting with the positives - location the hotel overlooks the sea at Barmouth, the rooms were clean and the hotel is pet friendly ..a must a our friends brought there dogs.
negatives -The rooms were very small and in need of refurbishment. the beds were terrible and in need of replacement,the staff service was hit and miss, the food ( evening meal was below average, as we booked with Hotels .com we felt like second class guests as we were continually ask who we booked with and back came ...you could have had this if you had booked direct with us. this was the same with breakfast you could have a bag breakfast (£7 50) but not a full breakfast like the other guests even though the breakfast room was almost empty and they had at least 2 other rooms for eating. Covid was the excuse for this ...but we could have had a full breakfast if we booked with them.
Its fair to say we (both couples) would not stay at this hotel again but we would go Barmouth again!

Very well positioned on the beach front at Barmouth but slightly away from the amusements. A nice walk down the beach to the harbour. Friendly staff. The public bar area was not to my taste but the separate restaurant area was very nice with a comfortable lounge area. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. Breakfast was good.
Slightly annoying that the Hotels.com rate doesn't include breakfast and the cost at the hotel was more than quoted with the booking (£7.50 v £6.50). Taking the breakfast into account the Hotels.com rate is more than the B&B rate listed at the desk.
There seemed to be a lot of dogs around the hotel.
Overall a good stay and I would consider staying again.

The hotel is level and therefore accessible for disabled people and it is directly opposite the beach, with a large garden in front. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and seem happy in their work. The hotel makes a special point of catering for people with dogs, and the dogs are kept out of the dining room. It is very family-friendly and clean. I personally found the shower rather weak and the towels small. When I left one or two out to be replaced, I had to ask at reception for the replacement. The breakfast is very good.

Previous reviews tend to be very polarised.
I booked day before and was wary that this was last choice in resort.
I was very happy with my stay. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Food was of high standard. Yes, had to pay for brekky but this was clear at booking. Fab break my too.
Bar had good beers, including cask ale.
Setting on beach is perfect, if a stride from town.
Would return, definitely. Thanks

Lovely staff that accommodated to my needs and did all they could to help... Was really nice of them. Lovely breakfast although 7.50 a day for a child seems unfair and is the same price for an adult. General food was lovely, yummy and quick. Room was great too and great view. All I will say is that the shower and bath isn't great.. Takes about an hour to fill the bath and the shower has no pressure in it whatsoever. Apart from that it was a lovely stay and I would come back again for sure!
