Lovely hotel in quiet location overlooking the estuary. Fab bathroom with large tub. Excellent view from my room. Lovely breakfast with great choice of food. It's a shame they don't do evening meals but there are plenty of options in Barmouth centre just 10 minutes walk away though you will have an uphill walk back. Really enjoyed my stay.

Super friendly hotel. Amazing view from the garden. Felt so welcome from the minute we got there. Also super dog friendly. Only a 7 min walk down the hill to a lovely pub/restaurant. The breakfast was also top quality. I had the eggs benedict and they even let me have a beautiful crispy hash brown on the side. 10 out of 10 would recommend

We stayed just one night but found the location just perfect being just a few minutes walk to the seafront and the town with plenty of parking and views out over the sea. The hotel was dog friendly we had a very comfortable large room and a lovely breakfast with great service. I can’t recommend this hotel more…. it was perfect!

The view from the hotel was amazing up on the hill looking over the river estuary and made a super tasty breakfast even better looking out over it. Lovely Welsh rarebit with nice thick bacon. Room was nice, bed comfy, and host was very kind & welcoming. Free parking and was ok to leave our car in it as we explored the town that afternoon after checking out. Only a 20-30 minute up the rest of the hill to the Panorama walk viewpoint. Really enjoyed my stay here. Only nit-pick I can make was the tiles in our bathroom floor need redoing as quite a few of them were loose.

A fabulous stay

We had a great stay at Bae Abermaw. There was a slight issue with the first room, but Gary couldn’t do enough for us and moved us rooms straightaway.

The rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The views from the front of the hotel were spectacular. Looking out across the mouth of the Mawddach and into Cardigan Bay.

I couldn’t end the review without mentioning the breakfast, which was fantastic.

We’ll definitely stay again.

Nestled above Barmouth the views are stunning. Our room no 10 was amazing...large with two lovely chairs looking out to the estuary. Fabulous bed and mega bathroom.. a loo with a view!
Breakfast was very hight quality and good variety of fruit as well as usual continental and full Welsh. Staff were all lovely.

Had a Really Excellent and Great 😃 stay at the Bae Abermaw Hotel. The Hotel has Been Beautifully and Very tastefully Decorated We Stayed in room 3 with the Stunning 😍 Sea and Harbour views. The Room was Absolutely Amazing we Loved it we Did'nt want to Leave it was so Cosy 😃 and Spotlessly Clean, With All the Mod Con's in the Room I thought we had been put in the Honeymoon Suite by Mistake it Was That Luxurious, And the Superking Bed the Mattress was So Comfortable, Really Enjoyed the Full English Breakfast. And a Special Thankyou to Dale the Manager who was so Polite and Couldn't do Enough for us Both and Made it such a Great an Enjoyable 😃 Stay for us Both. Will Definitely be Back, Loved ❤️ it. Thankyou All for Such a Great Stay.

Stayed here for one night on a tour of mid/north Wales. In the off season and hotel was closing down for winter. However, that did not stop the hosts going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We had an excellent evening meal with some extras thrown in and a freshly cooked breakfast. Hotel was quiet and a few minutes from the centre. Our room and the breakfast room had beautiful views. Bed was large and spacious as was the bathroom. This hotel must be even nicer in the summer with outside seating etc

I almost do not want to write this review as I want to keep this place a secret so they have availability when we rebook for next year. The views are stunning, food is amazing, hospitality is fantastic with nothing being too much trouble. We also ate at bistro Bermo in the town but the food here is equally amazing. I highly recommend the goats cheese salad….best I’ve ever tasted. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely two night stay in Barmouth.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel appeared very clean and newly refurbished. Situated on a hill with lovely views and an outside area to take full advantage of this. We enjoyed the short walk into Barmouth but those less able bodied would struggle with the hill and lack of lift in the hotel. In fairness this is made clear in the descriptions of the hotel.
We stayed in a family room which had a fabulously comfy king sized bed and bed settee. The only small criticism/ comment I would make is about the number of artificial plants in the room, one or two would suffice, it somehow cheapened the look of the room, and they would probably get dusty over time.
Breakfast was delicious with a very good choice, we also ate dinner in the hotel one night which was very good. The evening menu is not large but what we had ( the curry) was very tasty. We would certainly stay here again if visiting the area.

The family suite was very good & comfortable! A jug/a bottle of water in the room would have made it perfect.

Tea/coffee were served in a mug during breakfast, rather than in a pot with cups & saucers! There was a central table with juices, cereals etc., so people were moving around to get them and some didn’t wear a face mask! Tables were arranged a little close too each others! We met a whole family in a corridor without a face mask! It all made us feel uncomfortable!

Otherwise it would be really nice place to stay!

Lovely building with lots of character and stuñning sea views. A pleasant lounge with board games etc. And small cosy bar. Very quiet and peaceful in the winter when we stayed. Lovely breakfast free car park and dog friendly. Location is slightly outside the town which means travelling in for evening meals on early weekdays when the kitchen does not serve and the only other downside is the very steep hill to walk up which might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Having said that it is only a short walk down to the beach

Lovely sea views. The camp bed was really uncomfortable but it to be expected. Wifi was really poor in the evening - had to leave room for a public area to communicate as there was no EE phone signal either.

Room was nice and clean and a good size too. Staff nice and friendly. The children enjoy it and I would probably stay again.

Bed to big and could do being moved to a better position to make room to get into the wardrobe. The rest of the hotel was lovely so was surprised the room was un-cared for. It was hilarious as we had seen the hotel on Four in a Bed and we stayed in one of the rooms on that program and they made the same comments as well as the bath cover was loose. Its till is LOL! The views of the estuary are the best in Wales. Easy access to Snowdonia for the more ambitious hikers. Barmouth is a beautiful and friendly Welsh seaside town that US visitors will absolutely love and I would recommend this hotel and locations as a great base to explore North Wales .

Nicely positioned hotel

This hotel is nicely positioned overlooking the bay. Great views from the garden whilst enjoying an evening drink. Relatively easy to walk down into the town however the last 50 metres up to the hotel are steep so you have to be fit and mobile ....unless you drive or get a taxi.... So easy to access Barmouth bridge if you want to cycle to Dolgellau. Walks are all around right outside the hotel. Breakfast (Welsh) was enjoyable , tasty and enough of it . I personally did not leave hungry and was set up for the day. We both slept soundly in the comfortable bed and there was no disturbing noises throughout the night. A slight niggle \"but only because the World Cup was on \" was the rubbish tv reception . This may have been confined to our room but we did not complain as we were here to enjoy the great outdoors and not stuck in front of technology. It may trouble some with children to entertain.. A great stay and we will be back ...

Best view in town

This is hotel was amazing. It’s overlooking some of the beautiful sceneries in Barmouth and the building itself is beautiful. The garden at the front, has a wonderful seating area to enjoy the weather/your breakfast and watch over at the boats. The breakfast was nice, warm and arrived within minutes. The beds inc the sofabeds were actually comfortable. Very peaceful and had a good nights sleep. WiFi is in rooms which is a bonus as I couldn’t get no service being at the top of the hill. Over all it was amazing and will be returning again.

Stayed in family room with sea view - very nice view. Room was very spacious. Was directly above restaurant so was very noisy in the evening. Breakfast was nice but service was slow.

Don't stay there

Great location but rest disaster. Dirty bathroom, no wifi, carpets so worn, old bed uncomfortable matress.
