The property was amazing and well off the beaten path. The surroundings are incredible as is the architecture of the lodge and cabins. Only thing is, I wished there was a sign indicating the property.

We were traveling through the area and booked this room. The area is very remote and the cabin can hold several families with shared spaces including the kitchen and bathrooms. We were not fully aware of this at the time of booking but the owner sent specific directions to reach the property and house rules once we booked. There was no television or refrigerator in our room.
Our room was well-decorated, located on the top floor and the door was wide open when we arrived.
If you don’t mind sharing a house with other travelers from around the world, this space is for you.

We stayed here recently, and overall the location and atmosphere were great. The room was clean, the surroundings were beautiful, and we enjoyed the peaceful setting.
However, on the very first day after check-in, the power went out, which was quite inconvenient. When I decided to cancel the rest of my stay, I was told that no refund would be given. This was disappointing, as I believe guests should be offered fair options in such situations.

Awesome place to stay if your looking for an out of the way quiet, cozy and luxurious place. Be even better when they finish paving the main road! Linda was a hoot and she needs a raise! Had a fire and cooked smores for excitement!! If your looking for a hotel with a pool close to things to do and restaurants, go somewhere else!!!

The property was too far from the main road and it takes about 20 minutes just to get to the main road. The check in process was easy and the property itself is very nice but it’s just too inconvenient for our taste.

The hotel room was cozy and pretty decent as was the building with plenty of shared space to relax after exploring the area. The breakfast options are ok but limited. There’s no TV in the room, and all appliances - kettle, coffee maker, microwave are in the kitchen.

One thing that could be better is that the signage across various rooms was kind of overwhelming & ironically missing the most important sign of all - the one that shows you where to turn off / which building is the Hideaway Lodge.

Currently the sign at the driveway entrance just says “Private” which is not what you’d normally see at a place that has guests on a regular basis.

Property as described and instructions were clear. We would've appreciated knowing about the water bacteria before arrival. Seemed clean however we did find a dirty clear plastic cup (like for cough syrup) on floor in bedroom. Beautiful property and breakfast was ok. If someone was there in morning to make a simple breakfast (egg casserole, breakfast sandwich, biscuits and gravy, or fresh fruit etc)and some good coffee - not just a Kuerig- the place would be amazing and would be worth the extra price needed. The property is very secluded with no grocery or restaurants near. All that was descibed beforehand and expected but just saying those additions would knock it out of the park even with a higher price. All in all a very beautiful property and clearly defined upon check in. Good value. easy drive to Yellowstone park.

Our room was beautiful and clean. However our stay was supposed to include breakfast of our choice of eggs, pancakes, yogurt etc. We saw the eggs and supplies in the refrigerator when we arrived and woke up early enough to prepare our own meal. But when we arrived in the kitchen a family of 5-6 had eaten everything leaving us with only yogurt. Not a great way to start the day so we had to drive over 30 minutes to the closest restaurant and pay an expensive rate for our meal.

Property was excellent, however… several things about it not disclosed at time of reservation or on website. Just prior to arrival were we informed by email and signs all over room that 1) no showering after 10:30pm or before 6:30am in our private room with private bath. 2) quiet hours started at 10:30pm and we were expected to be back to property by 9:30pm and “settled in” and 3) posted notice on door said water supply was tested by state and had bacteria contamination but “was safe”. The “restrictions” or lodge “rules”… very disappointing. If you are staying in lodge 24/7 no problem but if you use as base for coming and going early or late…. You risk breaking the rules and made to feel like your intruding at the property you paid good money to stay at

The property was very nice and clean. The only issues we had was it wasn’t clear how to get new towels and there was no staff on site that we seen. As the rooms were so hot at night They provided a fan for each room but that was not enough for us. I know it is hard to control a temp for everyone but we burnt up. Besides that it was a very nice place. The grounds were beautiful.

This is a hostel.

I did not know this was not a hotel or seperate room that you could enjoy spending time in. This is a damn hostel. And should not be advertised on hotels.com. The entire experience is horrible and I will never use hotels.com to book any room ever again. I will go back to my Hilton or Marriott apps to book rooms from now on.

Shower was fantastic, loved the artistic design decoration, jacuzzi was essential, and breakfast was convenient. We were lucky to have our own private bathroom. There was occasional noise from others staying there late into the night but it was only a minor inconvenience. The kitchen was a shared communal space so we ate out quite frequently. Everything we ate was delicious from nearby restaurants. We saw a mama moose and baby on the property multiple days in a row. The property is very quiet and secluded with wildlife action.

Hostel, great for the price.

This is a hostel with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. It was clean and great for the price. Be sure to eat before you come and bring food with you as it is quite far from restaurants and stores. It is in a beautiful remote location, much farther from the highway than I had initially thought.

THE WORST! DO NOT STAY HERE: The bed was comfy allowing a 1 star rating. Sign on entry door warned there is E. Coli bacteria in the tap water, large multi-use bottled water provided. Sign in bathroom about what not to flush tells about recent drainage backup into house and repair costs. Whole place smells badly, like old dried milk. Cleanliness is very low. Health department denied approval to keep eggs in refrigerator, so how much do you want to trust what's in it, when eggs don't need to be refrigerated! Overall, so bad I got a refund. Unless such low standards are OK with you, don't waste your health and $$!

We were visiting Yellowstone and didn’t get hotel reservations and everything in or near the park was sold out, so we booked this place based on other people’s positive reviews and didn’t even read about the property. While en route we realized it was a home w/ multiple rooms and were a little nervous, but upon arrival that immediately went away as the other people staying were so nice, and all were visiting Yellowstone so we talked and shared recommendations (and some wine) and it was so fun!
The home was beautiful and the room we stayed in was huge and w/ a private bathroom and the most comfortable bed!! Highly recommend!

We chose a room with private bathroom which turned out to be what looked like the master bedroom suite of a large, former single family vacation home. Rooms with shared bathrooms also available. Large coolers are available for guests to store their food and the kitchen can be used for cooking. We only stayed one night but for a family staying longer this would be a great, affordable option. Our room rate was less than half what other places around Yellowstone were charging, which was great. A notice was posted that E-coli was detected in the water so a gallon of bottled water was provided on our bathroom counter. We were able to shower and brush our teeth with no problems.

Our stay at Kilgore Mountain Lodge was fantastic. People were great both guest and staff. Organization was wonderful. Had access to cook meals and store our food which was a key thing for us. If I am ever this way again I will check with them before any of the other places I have stayed in this area.

Its really in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of wandering cows. Hosts not friendly, just wanted you to follow all the rules. Not allowed to touch thermostat, take it or leave it. Room is about 8x8, not even room to walk. Luckily, people lived there were nice to each other.

Hosts were not present to answer questions or solve problems. During our stay we ran out of toilet paper in all bathrooms, breakfast supplies were low and ran out of bread, eggs and only a few bananas for over a dozen guests. Hosts slept in and never saw them in the morning. Bathrooms were shared but not cleaned well, not safe with COVID-19 still present. Would not recommend staying here.
