I appreciated the hotel's proximity to the highway with plenty of food and fuel options. The parking lot was well lit. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options. Hot food looked fresh and appetizing but I hit up the healthy grab and go options before making my way to Big Cedar Lodge.

The rooms and premises are always in top notch condition. Breakfast and the breakfast staff are incredible. I had two front desk attendants this visit and both were friendly and helpful. The one I saw the most, my mom brain forgot his name but I think it might have been Caleb? He sang happy birthday and gave my mother a gift and he also attended to the hot tub to make sure it was heating after maintenance had left from working on it.

The room was fine and the staff were great. There were 2 issues though. First, when we got to the place we were informed that Expedia doesn't show the $54 \"resort fee\" they stick us with. Being non-refundable, adding that on is false advertisement when it comes to the cost of staying there. Second, they made a big deal about their \"real breakfast\". It was your typical breakfast at every other hotel that has it....bulk scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. Those two things were pretty disappointing. If you look at the price, do t be fooled like we were. They will hit you with fees that aren't advertised.

I did not appreciated the $27.00 'Resort Fee' that was charged at check in. Why is this not included in the overall room charge? And we did not even use the \"free\" shuttle it claims to cover. I feel you need to make this more transparent when people are booking rooms. Speaking of the room, it was tiny! Very cramped, there was no place to sit other than a desk chair shoved in a corner.
On a positive note, all staff interactions were friendly and helpful. And the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

Its great place to stay and its staff is very friendly and welcoming, Had best time ever riding the golf carts at Top of Rock ! Would highly recommend going on ride ! It was great seeing Christmas lights and the beautiful view of nature at her very best ! This place is amazing with all the joys of nature there and the gifts given to us all by God! They are part of the Big Cedar Lodge group and I think there are some amenities a guest can use over at the big lodge. So, now they are considering this property as a \"resort\". It is not a resort. It doesn't have a restaurant, room service, bar, spa, etc... It does have an indoor pool and a gym. You have to drive over to the bigger lodge location to use anything extra. I checked in after 9:00PM and checked out before 9:00AM. What type of amenities at Big Cedar am I going to use? It's not about affording the cost but the principal of having to pay a fee. If I stay in the future it will be strictly as a convenience but it still leaves a sour taste.

Not nearly as nice as expected for the price point and a 'big cedar\" property. We didn't utilize the pool or adjoining restaurant, so can't speak to those amenities.

Cob web on the lamp, dirt in the corners to name a few additional misses. Pros- The included breakfast is a good touch with lots of options to suit anyone. This was my first time staying at the Anglers Lodge. The rooms were really nice and decorated in a western lodge theme. Breakfast was very good and even included a pancake machine. Room prices were reasonable for the period that i stayed.
