This location far exceeded any of our expectations. While there were tells that the building was decades old, it was renovated new and had all the comforts I would expect from a two year old resort. As our stay was during a heavy snowfall that kept us indoors for a while, the kids were able to swim in the indoor pool and use the game room that was fully stocked with arcade games, a Nintendo Switch, board games, etc. The breakfast, advertised as a “continental”, was much more than muffins and cereal and included hot eggs, biscuits, sausage and a pancake maker. The only complaint was that the shower, which was a fully tiled shower with faux wood ceramic tile, had a lot of algae the Sam color of the tile that had grown in the grout and wasn’t noticeable until it was wet. I pointed this out to the front desk and they promptly took note of it with a promise to let the staff know to watch for it and get it cleaned up through the whole resort.

The cabin/condo space was great. My family liked having the hot tub.

If you’re planning on cooking be sure to pack seasonings, cooking oil, parchment paper or whatever you may need. They did have pots, pans and basic dishes.

I was bummed the fitness equipment: treadmill and elliptical did not work.

It was a 20-25 minute drive to West Yellowstone and was a good landing space for days in the park. I would recommend this place.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Family room was wonderful! Nice bathrooms, hot tub was great!!! And just down the hall from the pool, game room and fitness area. Highly recommend if you are a family needing a place to stay to visit Yellowstone. Very short drive to get into Yellowstone and see the major sites. Good breakfast too with some great hot chocolate.

And the staff was fantastic!!! Great manager and very friendly staff.

The room was so nice. It was nice and you didn't feel like you were in a cracker box. Bathroom was nice and was roomy enough for both of us to get ready for the wedding. The breakfast bar offered options for everyone! Mexican hot chocolate was a huge hit for my husband!

Nice to have a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator.
We missed breakfast the first two mornings due to early morning tours. The last day we enjoyed a hot breakfast.

The resort is 30ish miles from the West Yellowstone entrance, easy drive and it’s a cute town with good dining options and breweries. Breakfast at the hotel was a standard selection, adequate food with hot coffee, and an automatic pancake-making machine. It’s a cozy place that looked well maintained. We enjoyed it there!

They rented E-bikes, so we took a real nice ride through a beautiful pine forest. The staff was always very helpful. The Resort was clean and well maintained, except for the elevator that didn't work for a couple days. Fortunately, there’s only 2 floors. A very nice place to stay outside of West Yellowstone.

Overall it was a great stay. I did have to ask for items from the front desk throughout the week (toilet paper, coffee, garbage bags, a broom to sweep our kitchen) We had to take our garbage to the dumpster ourself. And our room/building key would randomly stop working and we would have to have it reset. All a little frustrating for the proce we paid to stay. Not enough to stop us from staying there again.

I’ve been going to West Yellowstone for 25 years. Almost all of the hotels there are dated and old or external entrance motels. This property was nice and new. It would remind you of a very nice mid-tier Marriott or Hilton owned property with rustic decor. Nothing too fancy but it was the nicest place for 259$ total on September 6. The other mediocre hotels in West Yellowstone like holiday inn or Grey wolf were all 399 plus tax and fees. This place blew them out of the water. It’s a brand new property. 18 miles from town in Island Park so it you are looking to be in the center or town you are not, which was nice to me. The staff was great and the continental breakfast was good. Definitely a high recommendation for this area especially with no kids to entertain.

Wonderful place to stay. I took grandkids to the pool to swim for awhile and it had a volleyball net on it. It started out with about 6 people playing and each time another person came in they was invited to play also… ended up I think about 12 (mostly kids, but a few adults) and everyone got to play!!!

The stay at Sawtelle Mountain Resort was very nice. The room was clean had everything needed (except the bathroom needed bathroom towel rods....nowhere to put used towels)
The breakfast was really nice had very complete. Used the work out room which was nice. Would have used the pool, but too many kids. But they looked like they were having fun!! Overall the stay there was great and would stay there again!

Overall I liked the hotel. We had an issue with the location of our Suite. All the suites are in the basement. 2 of them including ours called 'Big Springs' is located alongside the elevator and is VERY NOISY. The suite on the other side of the elevator had a control room next t their door that made SO MUCH NOISE.
Our room had several issues. aside from the noise: the kickplate from the fridge was laying on the floor and dangerous when we walked in, they tried to fix it but couldn't, so I put in on the fridge, the smoke detector was hanging 6 inches from the ceiling from a wire-I have a pic, oh yeah-THERE WAS A HAIR ON THE ROOM LOTION BOTTLE when we checked in -GROSS!!!!, and one of our pots had caked egg in the pan.
Breakfast is ok. Lots of fake chunky eggs, undercooked and greasy hashbrowns, subpar cheap bagels, and a pancake machine that takes forever.

It is 30 mins away from Yellowstone. The staff are not welcoming. The lobby closes at 10 pm with no staff to help you. They close the main lobby. No coffee or any hot tea available except on breakfast. Breakfast is served at 7-10 but before that the lobby is close. You pay for resort fee but there are no amenities that would be considered as a resort. The pool is murky blue, you can’t see the bottom, the hot tub doesn’t have the jet, so you only dip for the hot tub. The game consoles doesn’t work. Like I said the resort fee doesn’t justify what they have.

The Hotel is a unknown treasure. If it was in west yellowstone it would draw $600 a night. The drive is a easy one to yellowstone west entrance 20-30 minutes. The grounds are superb, great staff, good breakfasts. Rooms were very clean and are was very nice. If you want an adventure, drive up Sawtelle mountain,,,,,

This is a beautiful property…well layed out and very enjoyable by my family. We swam every day and played in the arcade. It was cute when they called the breakfast “a basic hotel continental breakfast” it was definitely an upgrade. Our room was clean and stocked with supplies and our beds were comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The area was georgeous and we saw lots of animals. Relatively close to Yellowstone
