First time in West Yellowstone. The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is nothing within walking distance of the hotel, and it is about a 15-minute drive to downtown. If you plan to stay somewhere where you can explore the downtown and all it has to offer, which is quite a bit, this might not be as accessible as other places in the area. If you want a place to rest away from the crowds and have the luck to get a room with a mountain view, you'll love it.

Hot water big problem. Reason they told us is property was close for winter and just started. Staff tried a lot but looks like owners has no inteerest in maintaing the property and fix the hote water issue.. Every day struggle getting late to the Park. Breakfast gets empty before 7 and not good for Vegetarian people.

Two couples stayed three nights as we drove through Yellowstone. The staff is great! Liz, Darla, Britney and manager Sam. Even the big boss introduced himself, Fred. The staff is very friendly. The place looks great. I couldn't find anything lacking.

The breakfast buffet had juice, bagels, oatmeal, omelets, sausages and fruit. We were very pleased and recommend it. The negative is the 7 miles outside of town. But, we would stay here again! Next door is a KOA campground and a country store where you can get your Yellowstone T shirt, and whatever you forgot.

Had a terrible experience at this hotel. LOUD, DIRTY, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We booked 3 rooms several months in advance and asked to be placed together, well that didn’t happen. One of the rooms given was right next to the breakfast area, my poor friend and her family couldn’t sleep well the three nights we stayed there. The first morning we asked the front desk to move her to another room because this one was not clean, smelled bad and they couldn’t sleep, the front desk lady said they would need her to take her stuff out of the room in order to be put in a different room. Upon our return in the evening there was no room for my friend and they did not even clean the one she had initially and pretty much said she had to suck it up because that’s the room reserved through Expedia.

The other two rooms were not sound proof either you could hear everything going on in the hallway and the other rooms, with people waking up at 6am to head to the park in the morning this was just annoying.

We asked for more towels and were told we couldn’t get more towels until we returned the used towels (???)

Hot water was out for one night.

Breakfast was the same everyday.

Management definitely needs to take better care of their guest if they want to stay in business. I usually don’t leave negative reviews but this has been the worst hotel experience I’ve had.

We liked the property well enough. It was a few miles west of West Yellowstone, which was not a problem. Nice to be away from all the hustle in town and the setting was beautiful. Breakfast was good - we loved the cheese omelettes! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only real issue is that the walls are very thin and the late arrivals and early risers were pretty loud.

Beautiful location. Watched the sun rise over the mountains. Good breakfast. Trouble with the TV and requested to have it fixed. Came back to room and wasn't fixed. Oh well, don't go on vacation to watch tv. Just like to see the local news. Best hotel so far on our trip out west.

Amazing stay! Very helpful and polite staff, and a nice breakfast. The only thing is that to get hot water in the shower or sink at night or early in the morning, you need to let it run for a while. The gentleman who works there at night/in the morning was very helpful and kind! The rooms are renovated and clean. Highly recommend!

I was traveling with my husband and my mom. We booked two rooms and requested that they be on the same floor so I could assist my 73-year-old mom whenever she needed me. When we checked in, we were told there were no two rooms available on the same floor. It was a busy night, and no other rooms were available.

When I asked to change the room that was located right next to the breakfast area because it was noisy, the front desk staff said there were no vacant rooms. However, when we opened the door, the room was dirty. Only then did the staff manage to find another vacant room. I think she may have felt guilty for not being honest earlier, as she told me they would move our rooms together the next day since we were staying for three nights.

The next day, we packed our belongings and vacated both rooms so they could easily relocate us to the same floor. When we returned around 8 p.m., we were told they couldn’t move our rooms because nothing was available. I can only assume they didn’t want to clean the rooms.

When we returned to our original rooms, no housekeeping had been done — they were in the exact same condition as when we left. This was probably the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The breakfast area was dirty, with flyers everywhere, and the staff seemed lazy and dishonest about everything.

This hotel near a horse ranch and backdropped by mountains was a pleasant and affordable setting for our week at Yellowstone. The drive to Yellowstone's west gate was about 10 minutes away and went through a small resort town that offered all the necessary amenities and good dining and shopping. A leather chair in the hotel's beautifully decorated lobby was where I snuggled in each evening to process photos from the day's adventures. The staff members were a delight to talk to and had intimate knowledge of the area. I loved the cinnamon rolls and my husband enjoyed the waffle maker at breakfast.

The staff was very welcoming when we first got there and were a wealth of information to help us decide what to do. The lobby was cute and inviting. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the facility is that it is quite loud when people are hanging out in the lobby (although our room was quite close to the lobby) and the shower head was not good. Other than that it was amazing. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This location was very unique in the sense that it gives the traveler a mix of modern amenities in your room, but reminded that you are minutes away from yellowstone its lobby reminds the visitor of comforting cabin like setting and the communical outdoor areas at this location gives you rhe amazing colors and views of the mountains and so forth.

We stayed at Mountain Vista Hotel in West Yellowstone and found it to be a great spot for our trip. The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes outside of town, making it easy to access Yellowstone Park. Everything was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms and bathrooms were a bit on the small side, but since we spent most of our time exploring the park, it was perfectly fine for a place to sleep. The only challenge was that the hotel is a little hard to spot from the road, especially after dark, so keep an eye out for the turn. Overall, a good, simple stay for park visitors.

We liked the proximity to West Yellowstone and the entrance to Yellowstone. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable.

We had a room with an adjoining door. We could hear our neighbors' TV and could even understand their conversations. Luckily they settled down around the time we did, but it felt quite intrusive.

At first was surprised at how far out of town this place was (gotta read more closely!), but once we were familiar with the area, the 7 mile drive into town for dinner was no big deal. However, no elevator was a big deal for me. In addition to hearing departing guests bang their suitcases down the stairs, I have a bad knee and stairs, while not impossible, are slow going for me. I’m sure I could have requested a first floor room but wanted to save those for people who truly can’t do stairs. Staff was very friendly and responsive; breakfast was adequate; laundry facilities were very nice and clean.

I will start out by saying the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Decent continental breakfast every morning. Not a luxury hotel but they don't claim to be. The biggest negative was noise. We were on the first floor and could hear noise from above, beside and in the hall. People got up early and some were incredibly loud.

Staff is 5 star. Lobby had fresh coffee both in the morning and in the evening. There is an ice machine in the breakfast area along with a water fountain where you can fill up your water bottle. Breakfast was sufficient - choices are limited but it hit the spot. The rooms are TINY.
