Beautiful lodge & area. Staff was not the best. Check in desk lady got distracted. I was at the desk checking in & then she started checking in another group. Weird. She had my credit card info even though paid in full but then pretty much hunted me down & reached out to my friends in the party asking about a credit card in case we ate room snacks or whatever & then later apologized (at least) since she already had my credit card. It was embarassing. I went to have breakfast the next morning in the mostly empty restaurant. I asked to sit at a window table. Hostess said no those tables were for larger groups. I asked to sit at the bar (bar seats were close to the window). She said no since no breakfast served at the bar. We ended up getting to go breakfast comtainers & sat at the picnic tables outside. It was all pretty ridiculous in a near empty restaurant..Amazing lodge resort but staff is untrained, not professional & downright silly.

I have reserved and paid through Expedia.
When arrived to the hotel, there was no availability. A room was assigned but it was dirty, disorganized and with someone's belongings, like it was already occupied.

Therefore the reservation was canceled and the manager agreed to make a refund. However instead of a refund, they make a charge to my credit card.

What a wonderful spot! Beautiful views, we had a room that opened to a balcony. Kind, helpful staff that welcomed us and made us feel at home. They even have fire pits lit at night and smores. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet and remote. We will be back!

Beautiful lodge and location. We stayed in the lodge not the cabins so I can’t speak to the cabins. The lodge was really nice and the room 6 had amazing views from the porch for sunrise. Firepit at night for s’mores and it was near zero light pollution so it was excellent for stargazing. Restaurant was short walk and that was also very good as well.

This was convenient to the Yellowstone National Park area, just 10 minutes out of town. We liked the homey ranch setting and convenience of a restaurant on site. A tip for the staff would be to have fresh coffee/tea available to your guests earlier than 8 am and freshen the pot mid-morning. People want to get to the park as early as possible before the traffic and big crowds develop. Many of us early risers need that first cup before we develop a headache. It was a pretty painful wait the second morning to have a coffee pot out by 8. We had to leave and there was still no coffee by 8:10, so headache it was. ☹️ That simple service would be easy to provide.

It's a great ranch style hotel with a awesome restaurant! It is very well located just outside West Yellowstone, which it was great for us that were avoiding tourists, but close enough to the park. I will definitely be staying there when I go back to Yellowstone. The cabin could be a little bit cleaner and the coffee maker should be upgraded, but nothing that would make me not coming back. Loved the staff, all great people!

Beautiful setting, spacious cabin for our family of 4 with an awesome jetted tub for a long soak after being out walking all day in the park. Loved the complimentary s'mores and fire pits at night, as well as the fireplace in our cabin on a wet, chilly night. Coffee bar inside the lodge was amazing as well. Much appreciated a good cup of coffee in the morning before heading out.

I love the set up with a bar and ranch. What i did not like was i want told that the bar was closed over a month before my stay and that the restaurant had a limited menu. It was overall an amazing place but when booking i would've liked to know what I'm actually getting. If i knew everything was closed and limited i would've just stayed in town.

A truly wonderful stay from start to finish. We stayed in the main building and had a wonderful and clean room with a balcony and wood burning fire place that really added to the experience. The entire facility is clearly well cared for a very clean. We loved the authentic experience with the lodge and ranch feel, but it was still very close to town and the West Yellowstone entrance. What really made our stay was the staff though. Everyone was extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Specifically Izzy and Ron were wonderful!! We cannot say enough about them and the experience this place provides. If you are considering. a trip to the area (which you should) then definitely stay here!

Such a wonderful time @ this ranch! The moment w/came in, \"Rusty\" helped us take up our luggage and sign us in! Showed us around and made us feel at home! He got us in the direction of the restaurant next door, because we were hungry! Excellent stay there for the next 3 days! Room was roomy, atmosphere was fabulous! Close to Yellowstone entrance so we could explore park during day, and come back to a wonderful lodge in the evening! Food was wonderful too!

We absolutely love this place. It was perfect and very close to the west Yellowstone entrance. It is about five minutes from the town of West Yellowstone but very secluded quiet and absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very hospitable & we wish we would have stayed longer. There were bonfires and smores every night.

The room and ranch was beautiful but we expected the dinner and bar to be open on our stay and there was no place to eat dinner or have a drink at the bar they were not open they had some canned beer and finger foods in a cooler but nothing to sit and eat we had to drive several miles to town any time we wanted anyrhing to eat. Place was beautiful staff was fantastic but wouldnt recommend staying during winter months...

My only complaint was the tv in our cabin was much smaller than we were used too, but we didn’t spend much time in front of the tv anyways so no big deal!

The property and grounds are beautiful. There was so much we loved......fire pit in the evening, seeing fox and deer late at night, stargazing...wow!! The grab and go breakfast sacks were wonderful and great coffee.

The cons were our room was advertised as a queen and twin bed. The picture included on hotels.com showed two matching beds just different sizes which is what we expected. We were surprised when we entered the room to find a queen bed which was comfy and a fold out cheap black futon with a one inch mattress with springs poking through and no linens for it. When we asked for linens we were given a couple of sheet and no blankets. It was hortible to sleep on and sloped down. Couple that with the very noisy happenings directly above our room on the third floor and there wasn't much sleeping happening. It sounded like they were moving furniture or something an could come through the ceiling. Plus we could hear a ton of their conversations. Lastly, the bathtub was so dirty....hair on the tile walls, in the tub, floor, and pinkish mold in the tub jets. We only took quick showers 2 of the 4 nights we were there since it grossed us out.

I dont think we would ever stay there again. Given high price, our expectations are higher.

Very nice stay, a bit warm since there is no air conditioning. But with that said, it cooled at night and we had a screen door to our room. The Chef is an excellent cook. The Trout and Elk was delicious! Breakfast was supposed to be included, but they changed it to a breakfast bag to go. It would be nice if you wanted to get going early, a bag is great. But you should have a choice, hot breakfast or bag to go.

I think is a bit pricey for what you get. Cabin looks old, a kit to do smore’s is provided but the fire pit right outside our cabin was reserved, turns out it was not used! Bed was uncomfortable, ceiling fan was entangled. Location is great, check out is at 10AM, simple breakfast to go is provided. Bison burger was the highlight of this hotel!

This place is beautiful!! It's like a private ranch you are staying at. All the staff are super nice and friendly. They have various fire pits you can use around the property and s'more kits for your \"camping\" experience. As well as other activities that we did not have time to use and/or were closed due to covid. I cannot recommend this place enough for all you ranch lovers!

Just a few miles from the overly tourist town of West Yellowstone is this beautiful ranch. You are welcomed by a dirt road, stunning views, and a real working ranch where you yield to cows. This is a beautiful, unique property to stay at while visiting Yellowstone National Park and Big Sky, Montana. We were in the lodge room overlooking the pond and enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Staff was super accommodating and even provided a small coffee pot for our room. We loved watching the tree swallows swooping over the pond noshing on insects, a mother fox and her pups playing, otters in the pond, and of course the super cool cows hanging out by the road. A neat departure from the typical hotel room, plus the breakfast was delicious. Highly, highly recommend for a lodging experience you will not forget! We were only about 15 from the West gate of Yellowstone NP - close to the geysers and other geothermal features.

Be aware the shower was made for someone who is under 5-5... my husband and I struggled since we are well over 6 feet tall. The fireplace didn’t work and the staff couldn’t fix it. The overall experience was relaxing. Beds are comfortable and breakfast was good.

Hotel booked in July, received email in August saying no evening meals available during our stay. Had booked room in lodge with balcony views and jetted bath, shown instead to very small cabin away from lodge. No views no wifi, very small bathroom, half bath and cloakroom size sink. Furniture dusty, told not to open door from dusk because of bugs birds and bats. In comparison dining room and lounge in lodge very nice. No explanation offer over room change until challenged,said room was closed for season, and would say if we had been the first to book one of the lodge rooms, guest who arrived after us shown straight to lodge rooms. Didn't stay obviously! Staff friendly, helpful and polite and age|d to give us a full refund. Fortunately as is late September managed to find a room elsewhere.

Great Stay!

We stayed in the main lodge for 3 nights (Thurs-Sun) this past week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn't arrive until around 9PM our first night, but Debbie was there to greet us and check us in. She was incredibly friendly, gave us a tour of the breakfast area. main lobby area, and showed us to our room. the lobby area is adorable! Animals on the walls, fireplaces going, leather couches, and wood chairs - it had a very comfortable feel to it. There were games set up, a section of DVDs you can watch in your room, and large windows to look at the mountains.

Our room was quaint (small), but more than enough for what we needed. It had a fireplace setup and an added bonus of access to a deck that overlooked the back of the ranch. Exactly what we were looking for to experience Yellowstone for the first time.

The breakfast was ready to go by 7AM each morning - they have hot and cold options, overall it was okay but was included and got us to the park faster so we we're happy with it.

Debbie had overheard us briefly mention this was a great place to celebrate our anniversary and the next day when we returned from the park she had put together a smores box and bottle of wine with a very sweet card inside. Our trip was already outstanding but that extra touch made it even better!

The only thing I would say was not worth the money at this resort are the boxed lunches - they are a GREAT idea, you pre-order your lunch for the next day and they hav

The real mountain feel!

We stayed at Bar N Ranch for 2 Nights as our base for our visit to Yellowstone. It was just perfect! The lobby/sitting room with several fireplaces was so inviting and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious and cozy and the bathroom even had a jetted spa tub. The views from our room were overlooking a lake and the mountains and we could watch the sunrise from the balcony. Breakfast was included and served in a separate building. It was buffet style and constantly refilled. We had dinner there one night too, which was absolutely delicious. The menu is limited but the food home cooked and fresh. We had the house smoked chicken with beans and baked potato, just perfect after a long day of driving and walking through Yellowstone. It's a very casual place, which we loved. We just wanted to sit down have a drink, eat and relax without having to get changed. We would definitely book Bar N Ranch again! So much better than staying in one of the motels in West Yellowstone.

A great find in West Yellowstone

My husband and I were traveling through Wyoming and Montana and booked Bar N Ranch for a couple of nights. Not having been in the area previously, we didn't know what to expect. The Bar N Ranch was fantastic. We were greeted by Sandy upon arrival and were provided with information about the property and the local area. The team at Bar N really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room was small but nicely appointed and cozy . We had a little deck accessed through a separate door in the room. the views from just about every where on the property were breathtaking. The restaurant is in a separate building and the food was quite good. The trout dinner was amazing! Would definitely return.

The manager was absolutely amazing, she actually took an interest in not only in our stay but our trip in general. She was extremely helpful when it came to giving us advice on West Yellowstone. She also gave me better directions on getting us to Colorado as well. The room we stayed in was exceptional and very cozy. The only thing, which my wife point out was that she wished there was a ceiling fan in the room. It was extremely clean and the place is nestled in a beautiful area. Me and my wife were very pleased about our stay.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

The good - Our tiny house accommodation was great. The mail lodge was bare and really run down. The restaurant food and service was poor. Wasn’t able to accommodate the breakfast crowd - ran out of essentials. The information on line did not represent the actual accommodations.

The place was very nice. Cabin is cozy and neat. Breakfast was good. Nice to have a bar and restaurant on site. Pool and spa were great Not sure if it was worth the price though.

The lodge and restaurant was fantastic, and the cabin was also a good size and everything was in a great location. The only real downfall in the cabin was the lack of airflow. It isn't terrible because there's a couple of fans to work with, but it can get stuffy fast.

Rustic coziness at the lodge

Styled like a hunting lodge with a gnarled orange-stained wooden banister and skinned critters draped over the beams, this property is located within 20 minutes of the west entrance of Yellowstone but far enough from the West Yellowstone town centre to feel close to wilderness. We were greeted warmly by the host and personally shown to our room. The room is small but there are many mini luxuries to make it cozy: a real wood fireplace, quality robes, a large bar fridge, a comfy bed, dimmer switches for the overhead chandelier, and best of all, a semi-private balcony where you can go out and see the stars at night (a treat for me, a city dweller). The washroom has a jetted tub with essential oil-based high quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The stairs at the back of the property and in the lodge are somewhat steep, so take care while using them. The restaurant on the property (a short walk / drive away) is a bit disorganized - service is friendly but you have to go up to the front or the bar to order food or drinks, and sometimes even to get your order. The free breakfast, also at the restaurant, was tasty--scrambled eggs, pork and turkey sausages, Greek yogurt, berry & melon medley, waffles, bagels, orange juice and coffee. There are also private cabins, and is also the same property as Yellowstone Under Canvas, so the restaurant is a lot busier than the lodge would make it seem. We were enchanted by this place and would gladly stay again.

Stay here and relax

Temperatures never climbed out of the 50's and some drizzling rain. Stayed at the lodge- used the hot tub but the spa tub in the room didn't work. Very quiet. Great restaurant! Tons of food for breakfast and dinners were excellent. Super nice and accommodating staff. Big shout out to Alex. The tents looked really nice to but glad we chose the lodge since we had our own bathroom

Excellent location! There was a transition of ownership that happened and they are working on getting things straightened out. They staff could have been more helpful and kind. We stayed in a cabin that could have used some updating but we still enjoyed our 4 night stay.

We stayed in one of the cabins and it was wonderful. The cabin was well furnished and extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying there.
