My ferry was delayed by 4 hours and they held my table until 21.15. I arrived 21.12. They were happy to serve me a full meal which was great and the receptionist remember my breakfast order from last time in October. If you are returning north or going south this is a great stop off.. you could even stay longer as it is so beautiful. Highly highly recommended.

Great hotel close to the motorway. Not sure if it was expedia or the hotel that did not notify us that the chef was on annual holiday. The meal provided was good and breakfast excellent. Will return again when hopefully the chef will be in residence.

We booked this super late and the staff were magnificent about accomodating us. The rooms are beautiful and unique. The breakfast was so fresh and made from local produce. I stay at hotels almost every week and this was special. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for having us.

Wonderful meal spoilt by very poor service.

The food was amazing, inventive, deliciously mouthwatering. Great imagination, wonderful presentation. Quite delicious and worth a visit
Sadly the Service was not equally good.
Had ask three times for the water we ordered.
The very expensive wine was late arriving, had to ask twice for a wine cooler. Once opened no one attended to refill glasses which at 90 euros a bottle was disrespectful to the quality of the meal not to mention the diners.
Our breakfast order was demanded on arrival at reception for checking in, despite an eight hour drive no concession was allowed for us to recover from the drive. Breakfast had to be pre-booked or would not be provided.
Extremely disappointed at the attitude of the service, which totally detracted from the Dinner provided.
Will not repeat the experience despite the excellent menu.

Lovely hotel in a really good location, the room was wonderful very comfortable bed with a little balcony with a good view over the grounds. The restaurant was amazing with really good service and delicious food, only stayed one night on my way to spain for the weekend and will be staying there again on my return.

Good location just off of the motorway. Great grounds to walk the dog, Nice pool and a good breakfast with efficient service.
Whilst we know the rooms ‘have character’ our room was very quirky with a very tiny bathroom which unfortunately didn’t work for us. Sadly one of our meals in the evening was not edible and whilst the staff apologised no alternative was offered. Disappointed that when we questioned the room after checking in and returned one dinner, no remedy or alternatives were offered. Despite the positive aspects of this hotel (this is our second stay) we are not likely to return again.

Sadly fell short of expectations

Generally the stay was fine however due to it being fully booked for dinner, we were unable to eat in the restaurant and were offered a salad in the Lounge or our room as our evening meal. We also felt that despite being told we could sit in the Lounge and have drinks, the service we received was compromised as priority was given to those people in the restaurant who were only visitors. This was disappointing as we were paying residents at the hotel. Additionally my wife is a vegetarian and there was a very limited offering.

This is a dog friendly hotel with great grounds and just a few minutes from the motorway. We used it travelling to and from Portugal. The restaurant is one of the best anywhere (and allows dogs) if a little pricey. Rooms are very comfortable and staff are superb.
It is also a Tesla charging station for this who need it with multiple restaurants and a hyper market within easy walking distance.

Pleasant hotel but very odd themed rooms

The hotel is very handily located just off the motorway with a very good (if not particularly cheap) restaurant. The only oddity is the rooms which seem to be themed and not in a good way. The room we had was mocked up like a Russian dacha and had no aircon. The double bed was small and very soft so not much sleep had by all.

Other reviewers will give you the big picture. This hotel is absolutely lovely and should be perfect for just about anyone (not sure about wheel chair friendliness).

The themed rooms are just great - the owner is obviously a big child at heart and it’s great to see such touches as kiddies cars on display near the pool.

The only negative is that staff shortages meant the restaurant was closed on the night of my stay. Avoid the nearby (5 min walk) Poivre Rouge restaurant - it’s appalling.

There’s nothing not to love about this charming and wonderful hotel.

Great stop over point from the car ferry in st malo heading south. The food here is Michelin Star standard at a fraction of the price. The rooms are dated but with safe parking including charges for electric cars, this is a very tranquil place to spend a night either returning or coming from st malo. The drive time is just under 4 hours with two 15 minute stops. Highly recommended.

Another lovely stay

This was our second time at Bois St Georges and it is a lovely hotel with fantastic food. It is definitely ‘quirky ‘ but in a good way. The grounds are beautiful and very tranquil after a long drive from southern Spain. It’s location is also very convenient for the A10 motorway which was one of the reasons for our stay. The staff are lovely and speak excellent English- which is always a plus after a long journey!! Shower could have been better. WiFi could have been much stronger as it is on the outskirts of Saintes, a major town.

The property gives the impression the hotel is struggling. The gardens are unkempt and the interior very dinghy. When I booked the web-site stated there was only two rooms left available. When I arrived this was certainly not the case.
For comparison you get a better room with Premier Inns and at half the price.

A peaceful haven just off the motorway tucked away from the surrounding built up area .
- excellent reception team; beautiful if expensive evening menu. Excellent and attentive waiting staff.
Nice pool and attractive grounds complete with resident swans and ducks and the occasional heron.
However, there was no lift. The approach to our first floor room was via a very badly lit dark and gloomy staircase . The door to our ‘comfort’ room (Assam)was very unwelcoming. It looked like a temporary metal door and was badly marked. The room itself was very small and we were only just able to walk round the ‘double’ bed which was equally small. No comfort to be found here. No tea or coffee making facilities . No hotel information in room other than menu and beauty treatment. No place to put your water on one side of the bed. Bathroom very basic.

Compared to the other hotel rooms we have stayed in the way down through France this is the most disappointing, despite being the most expensive. The hotel is in definite need of some refurbishment in several areas - inside and out.

Hotel is located in lovely parkland setting

The hotel has a relaxed feel and very good pool etc.
The breakfast was very good, but the dinner did not quite live up to our expectations, which was a shame. Our room, called Assam, was a little cramped, so it may be worth paying for a larger one.

Just off the motorway ideal overnight stop .

The hotel is secure, quaint and just off the motorway exit for Saintes. The jewel however is the restaurant and gardens which are wonderful. Food ranges from one course to the blowout 6 course gastronomique with extras. The market menu is superb value. Coming from jersey, this is the ideal stop over for heading south. Will be using this again and again until the chef retires!

Wonderful hotel with the most fantastic chef. Great overnight stop close to motorway and 1 hour from Bordeaux. The hotel is quiet, has an indoor swimming pool and very secure parking free of charge. If you like fine dining with excellent wines, this is the hotel for you. All staff charming and level of English throughout, excellent. One downside is the bathrooms, they do need modernizing and are small but do not let this deter you from booking.

Beautiful and quiet!

Easy to find off the motorway, but not right on top of it. Beautiful setting and grounds. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are individually designed and rather quirky. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable...the only problem was that there was no air conditioning or window (only a door to the terrace...which was nice)and the room was very warm at night. The restaurant was elegant and the food was outstanding. The three course menu, at the weekend, was €32, which was great value for the quality of food served. Reception and restaurant staff were very efficient and friendly. We will definitely stay again.

Back again, 4th time in 30 years.

In a June heatwave, the huge landscaped garden was a haven of peace. We had dinner and breakfast on the terrace, in the company of 2 swans, 8 ducks and 9 tiny duckings. The room was lovely and well air conditioned. The staff were discreet, friendly and helpful.

Beautiful setting, lovely hotel.

We have stayed here many times as it is a perfect stop over on our way down to our house in Magalas in the Languedoc. We have two dogs, and a cat who stays with the car in the garage,the dogs are well catered for as we always have been given a downstairs room opening up into the garden. The gardens are fab, dinner is always really good but this year we did not have breakfast because on our stay last October breakfast was sadly poor, with very little choice, we did ask for croissants but they never arrived. This is a pity as we have to go and look for somewhere. A small point as staff otherwise are helpful, friendly and professional, this was just one person.

perfect location for a stopover on your way to the south.
hotel in nice quiet garden, personal very helpful and friendly.
the room was a bit a disappointment for a €165 a night,nicely decorated but small, bed really the minimum for 2 persons(130cm?). no air-condition but a little ventilator to cool off at 35°celcius.
bathroom small no hooks to hang wet towels(not changed during dinner at hotel).
the restaurant is a treat after long driving hours;
everything at this hotel rather positive, except the room they gave us.

Absolutely fabulous hotel in an idyllic setting.

The hotel is a fabulous find on our journey south to Spain. It is in an idyllic setting with extensive grounds and large ponds with ducks and swans.
It is a little outside the centre of town so we booked a table for dinner and enjoyed a better than good meal. The wine was so good we had second bottle.
The bedrooms are somewhat quirky, mine had a waterfall but the bed was comfortable and I slept like a log.

Wonderful quirky hotel with character

Fourth visit so knew what to expect. Having stayed in a different room each time, each one has been different. How different to the usual 'group' hotel where, entering a room, you could be anywhere.The restaurant is quite good, if only the Maitre (on this occasion a Madame) could relax and their staff be better trained. Overall, I'll stay again.

Don't book to stay in the theme rooms

In the middle of nowhere, this was one of the relatively expensive hotels we stayed in during our holiday to France. The hotel was OK, no more, but in terms of value for money we were disappointed. Would not pay this money again to stay here.

Cependant, chauffage qui ne fonctionnait pas très bien. Douche à l'eau pas très chaude le 1er soir, et douche à l'eau froide le 2ème soir, cela peut arriver. Mais aucun geste commercial pour compenser ce désagrément.

Mon séjour avec mon frère, et ma petite chienne, c'est très bien passé, un très bon accueil, une super 👍 équipe rien à redire, chambre très propre espace très agréable, petit déjeuner super, et repas le soir très bien mené, très fin certe, juste un manque de quartier de citron et de sel pour le thon en entrée et très fade pas assez relevé malgré les points d'acidité, mais j'aurais aimer une bonne entrecôte ou côte de bœuf se qui aurait été sympa aussi, fait par le chef👌 m'aurais bien plu, je pense que ça serait sympa, car la viande rouge manque sur la carte printemps, dommage , c'est juste une suggestion , sinon c'était très suptil question goût,

Belle décoration originale de la chambre et de la salle de bains. Très joli parc arboré. Accueil très sympathique. Excellent petit déjeuner. En revanche le lundi soir le restaurant gastronomique étant fermé, la carte proposée aux résidents uniquement est plus simple.

Un hotel avec un grand H. Dans un cadre superbe, toute une equipe, souriante et professionnelle se met en quatre pour vous rendre le sejour agreable, confortable. Il ne faut pas oublier le restaurant, avec une vraie equipe de cuisiniers, ici on y goute le meilleur. Bref, les etoiles sont largement meritees, d'autres devraient largement s'en inspirer.

Belle emplacement mais cher pour ce que c'est.

Tres décevant. Le réceptionniste nous indique que nous pourrons aller dans la piscine après notre repas ( hors de l'etablissement car le restaurant est fermé le lundi soir) et à notre retour tout est fermé. Réception qui indique être ouverte jusque 23h or à 22h plus possible de rentrer par la porte principale et aucun numéro de téléphone pour les contacter. Petit dejeuner très cher pour ce que c'est.

Hotel un peu vieillot. Le service est irréprochable ,le personnel très avenant et vraiment à l'écoute. En revanche, pour ce qui est de la vétusté des chambres, rien a faire, je ne reviendrais pas. N'espérez pas prendre une douche chaude entre 20h et 6h, l'eau chaude est coupée. Cote restaurant, service irréprochable mais rien d'extraordinaire côté saveurs, heureusement le vin et la sommelière ratrappent un peu le coup.

Depuis des années que je descends dans cet hôtel je n’ai jamais été déçu sauf que là au niveau du service au restaurant jamais on ne m’a traité de la sorte. Entendre la responsable de service dire « je n’ai pas envie d’être sympathique avec vous » n’est pas correct et surtout anti commerçant. Servir du Bordeaux dans un verre apéritif dans lequel il y a eu du blanc est une grossière erreur et il n’y a pas eu d’excuses sauf « j’avais oublié que je vous avais servi du blanc »
À la fin du repas quand nous sommes montés dans la chambre et que nous lui avons dit au revoir elle n’a même pas répondu
C’est simplement honteux et pas digne de cet établissement
