The Qube is a little outside the Chiba CBD in the ‘port area’. This suited us as we don’t like overcrowded touristy places. Value for money: Absolutely; we picked up a 2-night Expedia package at around A$275, which makes this excellent value. As normal we walked a lot, which was good from our hotel: it connected easily to the monorail; make time to go on this. We took a 1-day pass each at Y630: outstanding value! Back to our hotel: it was clean, well serviced & the staff were great. We would rate this a strong 4.75/5, with a small deduction for a poor TV setup with no English channels & a quirky shower. Eating establishments are few & far between around the Qube: we found a small restaurant not far away that served gorgeous Gyoza’s: the food in Chiba was excellent as in all of Japan. We have added a few pounds after a month in country: the bakeries! Get me out of here! Better than the French for sure: pastries that melt in your mouth. Would we stay here again: Yes, at the price point mentioned. Overall we were pretty happy with our stay. As a married over 65 couple who have been exploring the world together for over 35 years, we believe in the value of these honest reviews: we hope ours was useful to you. Thanks, ALGreynomads

This hotel appears to mainly caters for big group bookings.
They all eat breakfast at 7am and the kitchen cannot keep up to replenish the food.
It is absolutely chaos 7am-8am, which was not ideal as a business traveller.
The tourists leave the food serving hubs open, leaving food to go cold for other guests.
The hotel only rosters 1 staff during this time.
I blame poor hotel management for this.

I did notice on the days where there were less mass group booking, and more local businessmen, the hotel rostered 3 staff to manage the food replenishments.

The breakfast food options were not great.

The room was big, nice view and was probably grand in the 90s.
Certainly dated now.
Mostly clean.
Our shower had a lot of grime build up on the screen and one of the nozzles had a lot of green rust from water calcifications.
The other nozzle is good for people shorter than 5foot.

Location is conveniently near a Don Quijote, 7-11 and Daiso.

I would not recommend this to a fellow business traveller, or anyone wishing to have breakfast 7am-8am.

The Qube Hotel Chiba was Very good, easy to get around with public transportation and taxis when needed. The staff was exemplary! So, accommodating and helpful. They were lovely... I'd come back... but it's location is about 30-40mins from the City of Tokyo...

Hotel is about a mile from the station but their shuttle only runs on a very…very limited schedule which means you have to walk or take a cab. Not sure I would stay there again.

Excellent customer service! I arrived late at midnight but the staff was still very friendly and introduced the hotel services clearly. The public bath is amazing and a must-go item after a trip to Japan. The sea view is great as well! Donki, Lawson and Ichiran are nearby so it's convenient. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the train station which requires ~15mins walk if you have a heavy luggage, so prepare more time to walk to the station after checkout. But still would recommend this hotel overall!

Outdated decor, with nice onsen/spa

The photos on Hotels.com show this property as modern and on par with other hotels in this price range. While spacious and clean with comfortable beds, our room felt very 1980s. The furniture was outdated, scuffed and worn, and the carpet tiles felt grimy, had shifted over time and were peeling up. We encountered very few other guests in the hallways and lobby, and there was a short, classical music track playing in the hallways that looped on repeat, which felt eerie. For a large property with an onsite restaurant and banquet facilities, I expected a great breakfast, and while there was good variety, the food was lackluster—for example serving canned, syrupy fruit cocktail instead of fresh fruit salad. The only bright spots in our stay, were the very professional front desk staff, a luxurious looking lobby, and the nice onsite spa/onsen, which was enjoyable. Perhaps it was the time of year (early January) but overall the hotel felt dated and like it is being run on a very tight budget. We stayed at two other properties in the same price range over our 10 days in Japan, and this was our least favorite.

This hotel looks fancy on the outside but interior is actually pretty old. When I arrived I noticed that there is no charging port on the nightstand or anywhere nearby the bedside. The sheet felt like it has been washed a thousand times, which robbed against my skin causing a little red rash. Although my room included the hot spring spa, I decided not to go in because the poor condition of the room worries me about the condition of public hot springs. The staff in the front office were very friendly and nice. If you are traveling to Jump Fest, please don’t pick this hotel, you will have to walk like 15 minutes to the subway or take Taxi like me. Chiba is really windy, but if you like morning/night walks, you will like this place is quiet. Try to find somewhere closer to the JR station.

The property has seen better days, at least on the floor i was on: stained carpets in the hallway and in my room. The wash basin had a large crack in it.

It felt like an old hotel past its time and in need of some TLC.

The location was \"ok\" for a few days, but not great if you want to be closer to Chiba's more busier areas. There's a Lawson and Donki nearby, but really not much else. The ramen shop across the hotel was good, and if you walk past that, there is a small supermarket ! The room could have been cleaner, but I wouldn't call it \"dirty\" ... Staff interaction is very minimal, but when I did interact, they were all very friendly and helpful. The onsen and sauna were great! Give it a try. Just make sure you remember to bring you room towel!

For the most part the property itself was okay. In my room, there were some dated/worn furniture; for example, a couple of the swinging access doors to some of the furniture/TV stands were coming of their hinges.

My major concern with this property was that I was charged twice for my room because an old friend I'd traveled all the way from the U.S. to Japan to visit was \"not allowed to visit with me\" for the time I was there. So, although I'd paid for my room in full upon my arrival, I had to pay the room fee AGAIN for the days my friend would be there. This was not specified up front, nor was any printed policies shared with me at the time I was initially notified regarding this \"surprise policy.\"

Further, there was no apology offered at the time, nor were there any concessions or options offered as a paid guest (for example, reduced rate, etc.) for having been told at the last minute and after having been there on the property for more than over 24 hours prior to this incident.

The situation was VERY inconvenient stressful as I felt I was at the mercy of the property because... 1. I was visiting from another country, and 2. my long time friend had traveled to the property from another city and had no other place to lodge at that late stage in the game.

Needless to say, I will NOT be lodging at this property in the future nor will I be recommending it to anyone...and I will be leaving similar feedback on other related sites as well.

The room itself was clean but other areas had a layer of dust. It was quiet which was nice but I think it’s because hardly anyone was there. The hotel needs a makeover. It looked like it was from the 70’s the bed was almost on the ground with a hard mattress and even harder pillows.theres no plugs at all near the bed. I had to chain a few plugs together and sleep backwards to use my Cpap machine. Housekeeping was wonderful. The biggest issue I had was it was a 55 min train ride into Tokyo. You also had a walk of 20 min just to get to the station. It was so hot and by the time you got to the station you were drenched. The washer dryer ate my money twice. It opened itself and my laundry was soaking wet covered in soap. I can’t recommend based on how far away from anything except the 7-11

The location is fairly accessible to public transportation. Lobby design is grand and wish I had spent some time in it. For the breakfast buffet was okay, but expected better selection. View is great on the 21st floor and I enjoyed it.
All staff were excellent and polite as usual. Overall a great value for Chiba prefecture and I appreciated the hotel outdoor identification lights! Helps me to spot and find late nights out.

子連れは千葉みなと駅からはタクシー、和室は最高！

3人の子ども連れには和室は最高！
近くにスーパー、ほか弁2軒、セブンイレブン、ダイソー、ドンキあり。
木曽路やバーミヤンもあるので、ホテルの部屋で食べるもよし、ファミレスまで足を運ぶもやし。
美味しそうな桃を買ってしまい、フロントからお皿とフォーク、カッティングボードとフルーツナイフ代わりの普通のナイフをお借りしました。
これまたフルーツも食べやすかっただけでなく、子どもに買ってきた弁当を取り分けたりするのに便利！
小さい子がいると、外食にも体力を使うので、和室のテーブルで食べれるのは本当にありがたい。

ただ！ひとつ気になるのは駅から少し遠い！
千葉みなと駅から徒歩15分なイメージ。
タクシーなら1,000円切るので、うちは一度歩いて後悔したので、タクシー一択で残りの旅行を楽しみました。

大浴場は露天風呂。眺めは目隠しのため良いわけではないですが、気持ちいい。でも、雨の日は完全に雨に打たれそう。室内風呂も１つは欲しいと感じました。

朝食は3歳以上は有料で、大人と同額。朝食付きプランで予約したものの、子ども分はチェックイン時に支払いました。
子ども料金があっても嬉しいなぁと思いましたが、朝食付きプランで予約したので、そちらが子ども料金的なイメージですね。

総じて、満足したホテルでした！

My stay at the Qube Hotel felt a lot like a really bad first date. The staff were good and tried hard to help. However, the room, outside of the main surfaces, was rather unclean. The Internet connection stopped working both mornings I spent there (on a business trip) and took time to fix (again, the staff were really helpful, but it felt like a situation that shouldn't happen in 2023). There was a long, black hair in the bathtub when I arrived. Given than I'm increasingly...follically challenged and have a crewcut, I know it wasn't mine. The electric kettle didn't work. The interior was clearly worn and old. On the second night, the people upstairs kept me awake until 3am. Like with many bad first dates, I think the best is to move on. There are other hotels in the area, so my advice would be to go there.

初めて滞在させていただきました。
エレベーターから近いお部屋だったのですが、エレベーターホールや廊下で滞在者が会話する声が結構筒抜けで聞こえて来て、朝ゆっくり目に起きる予定だったのですが、その声で早朝何度か起きてしまいました。
（エレベーターから少し遠めだと聞こえなかったかもしれません。）

露天風呂は４つあって、夜空を見ながら入りました。
身体がとても温まって良かったです。

露天風呂自体は良かったけれど、中国人観光客が土足のまま、着衣して浴室に入ってきて携帯で写真を撮っていた。一体フロントでどんな説明を受けたらああいうことができるのだろうか。利用規約をきちんと説明してほしい。

旧カンデオ時代のほうがずっと清潔で良かった。

千葉駅からは徒歩圏内ではないですが、タクシーも大抵いるし、車で来たときも地下駐車場が便利です。建物の造りがしっかりしていて良く寝られます。大浴場も広くて、サウナも広いです。
