The photos make this place look a lot nicer than it actually is. The \"superior\" room had 2 chairs and a table with a view of dirt and overgrown grass. The wardrobe barely opened, the shower and toilet were like gym cubicles, the carpet probably needed replacing 10 years ago. This was probably once a nice motel with a restaurant attached but it is now a basic motel -,at best. The restaurant is permanently closed according to staff. Property run down and grubby.
The bed was comfortable which was the only good thing about it.
Shower door is old wood door that does not close properly due to swelling. Fridge/kitchen is actually part of bathroom/hand basin area.
Pool looked clean, but was small and cold. Gardens and landscaping are neglected.

The first room was mouldy in the bathroom, got changed to room 20 absolutely disgusting, carpets were littered with Twisties, numerous pieces of fruit. Cobwebs everywhere even a dead spider on the wall. Stained linen, mosquitoes that kept us awake all night let alone being bitten. Im so upset it was a getaway for myself and my daughter after a traumatic year and this is what we got. Management couldnt have cared less.
I have photo evidence that i will be taking to AHA, and DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. Totally unacceptable for a hotel

The premises are quite new and everything looks modern, clean and well maintained. The area is fairly quiet, with minimal noise despite being close to a main road.

When we arrived, the weather was extremely hot, around 36 degrees, and there were quite a few summer flies and mosquitoes, mostly in the bathroom area. Even with fly screens installed, some insects still managed to get into the bedroom, and a few were in our room. Pest spray was provided, which helped and was appreciated. The following day the temperature dropped to around 22 degrees and there were no fly issues at all — everything was perfect.

The bedding was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the amenities were surprisingly comprehensive and well thought out.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.
Thank you — we would definitely return again next year.

When we arrived the motel wasn't like the photos at all. The carpet was stained, the wardrobe wouldn't open fully, but the biggest issue waa that the screen door was broken. There are a tonn of mosquitoes this time of year so we had to sleep with the door closed & no air flow. We spoke to the reception the next morning, she came and inspected the door & assured us that maintenance would fix during the day while we were out. When we got back reception was closed & the door had not been fixed. We repeatedly asked and advised to enter the room if required to fix the door.
The next morning i went straight to reception who advised someone had come, but because we weren't

More motel than hotel, very basic room, mould in the bathroom, damp carpet and low quality fixtures and fittings. It was clean and close to the town centre (25min walk) but the photos they sell you are a lie. This is a very budget hotel. Also had a bug issue - the room came with bug spray and we woke up with bug bites on our faces. Could not recommend.

Had a Superior room (no.35) over a Deluxe due to cheaper Black friday deal $103 p/night. Undercover park outside room. Room was tidy, with newish carpet and newish tiles in 'bathroom'. Superior apparently has 'better' furnishings but their site doesn't say what.
Also, some on-line booking sites say the rooms are soundproof - definitely not as can hear when showers are being taken and voices.
Bed comfortable and big soft pillows.
Shower ok size but mold spots top of walls (no exhaust fan so must open window to let steam out which is right next to next room. Door to show is wooden and has about 12\" gap to floor, so water is splashed & can be a little river underneath to another drain hole in front of mini fridge - the is rust on door frame also). There is no privacy door outside of shower when drying body. Toilet also has no exhaust fan and a window must be open to air it. Crockery/cutlery, tea/coffee and coffee pod machine. Once nightfall came in and colder nights, there was some kind of contraction in the roof or carport are and as it moved the noise was really load nearly every hour through out to about 3am - very annoying that would have effected neighboring rooms too. And good luck trying to get FTA TV channels - so so hard to work out a simple thing. Would I stay there again ... no.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at The Wine Vine, the location is so convenient for surrounding areas and attractions. My only feedback was that we had 3 adults as stated in my booking so there was no enough amenities for our 3 night stay (Towels, toilet paper, shower gels) and the beds are also in dire need of an upgrade. Other than that, we would revisit and tell our friends to stay for future trips!

Thank you for a lovely warm welcome when I checked in. The room to be lovely, clean and warm.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in at a hotel or motel.

A couple of things that I found that could be improved on were:
The shower door could be extended to the floor so the water doesnt flow out to the amenities area.
A separate light would prevent waking other occupants while showering.
There was no face washer in the bathroom.

These concerns were not a deal breaker and I would highly recommend The Wine Vine, very happy to stay again when I next visit the Barossa Valley.

This was a reasonably priced motel, ideally located on edge of Tanunda - a gateway to Barossa wineries. Though a dated motel the amenities have been renovated and clean, well equipped, spacious rooms make this an easy place to stay.

I feel this property is not honestly presented online. It looks like a fairly nice hotel with a restaurant and pool and reasonable sized rooms.

We found the rooms very cramped, basic and outdated. The restaurant is no longer operating.

The pool was unusable, like ice even after 5 days of 30 weather. They really need at least solar heating to make it usable. This was the most disappointing thing as we booked specifically as it had a pool.

It would be a fine if visiting barossa overnight, but not comfortable for longer stays.

We made a very last minute booking. It was lovely service, we stayed with our baby and they moved us into a room that would fit a cot more comfortably. On arrival the room was set up with a cot, check-in was super quick and the shower was so lovely. Thank you

This is a Motel, not a Hotel. No food service, no drink service, no room service, park at your door. It’s a Motel. Rooms are ageing and pretty sad. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and bed linen was spotless and nicely starched but everything else about this place was disappointing. We won’t stay here again.

Clean and tidy. Did the job

We stayed one night in a family room. It was just what we needed. Room was clean and had 3 beds. Shower was good. Excellence hot water. Convenint location. Parking right out front. There was a neat little pool but we didnt use it.

Lindy on reception at check in was very friendly and helpful. Having plates and cutlery was really useful.
Walkable to Tanunda and some wineries, about 20-30mins.Plenty of good eateries in town.
The building did make some loud creaking noises but that may have been the heat.

Wonderful hosts! We were staying to attend a funeral and arrived early 10.30am and they were very accommodating letting us check in early. Very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were well appointed and loved the back door on the rooms with bistro setting to sit outside in privacy.

My family and I booked two rooms for A Day On The Green. The accommodation was fine for what we were after but we did find the shower area, bathroom/kitchen a bit odd.
The motel is a quite far out of the Tanunda township so be prepared to drive or taxi it in.
The staff were great, very helpful when we needed extra amenities and directions 😊
