Fantastic staff. A little too far from beaches and sites of interest. Too far to walk to local restaurants etc. Needed to hire mopeds as taxis ( trucks) limited.

What didn't work is that we booked a room for 3 people. There were only supplies for 2 people.
The bed for the 3 person was a very uncomfortable roll away / folding cot - NOT ACCEPTABLE !

The resort was inland but a regular shuttle takes you to a nice beach. A restaurant provides beer and food there at very reasonable prices. Free abundant beach chairs and shade is available. Several restaurants are a short walk away down a road heading towards the beach from the front of the hotel. Massage is available at a reasonable price at the hotel as well. Please note that island transportation is very expensive so you will likely stay at the resort. We arranged through them a full day snorkeling tour of 4 locations and that was a highlight.

The have a nice buffet breakfast but it tends to get a bit boring after a few days. They have tiny pre-made omelets, sunny side eggs, ham and chicken hotdogs mainly for western items and varied Thai dishes as well as salad, bread, etc.

The main changes are to the Thai breakfast dishes so my suggestion is to make changes to the western food items a well. A more varied fruit section would be nice too.

Would stay again!

The hotel is set amongst beautiful tropical gardens, water features traditional thai sculptures with a back drop of the mountains. The accomodation was very clean and spacious with a fridge, safe, nice balcony with table and chairs overlooking the gardens. Its a little dated, but it didnt effect our stay.
The staff are all very friendly and accomodatig. We found the mattress to be too hard and they quickly added a soft mattress topper which we didnt expect, so thank you!
The pool is lovely, the warmest I have had any where. A bit dissappionted with the pool bar, looks univiting but did offer the restaurant menu.
We travelled with a toddler and they provided a large size cot in the room. Its bot the most buggy friendly property with steps to the rooms and difficult pathways to pool area, but we managed.
The restaurant food service was a bit slow, but the food was delicious. Breakfast was good, a mixture of cereal, pastries, fruits, yogurt, eggs and thai options.
It would be nice if they had a coffee shop on site.

Staff at Hotel and restaurant all very friendly and helpful, they are great to my Children who class them all as friends. I have been going their for several years now and go several times each year and go even more now I have retired and will continue to do so. Room service very good and you can have food delivered to your room.

Delightful Resort in a Beautiful Setting

Beautifully set out resort in a garden setting. Is not on the beach but has an hourly transport to the best beach on the island.
The restaurant food is of a high quality and very reasonably priced, all prices include taxes therefore there are no additional surprises when you get the bill.
The Buffett breakfast has all the usual fare for westerners along with some Asian choices and is generally a good standard.
The swimming pool is delightful and situated such that it gets shade which keeps the water cool and refreshing.
There is a convenience store within about a 10 minute walk and a few small restaurants can be found close by.
All in all I have no trouble in recommending this resort, we stayed 8 nights in a standard room that had everything we needed and I would definitely stay here again.

The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the staff who served at the spa was rude and unfriendly. She was very impatient when responding to my enquires on the different type of spa treatment. When I said thank you before I left, she did not bother to say good bye or etc....

Great holiday at Ramayana!

The stay was excellent from the start to the end. We spend 10 days and the staff was really going out of their way to make our visit excellent. My wife is a vegetarian with really difficult food choices but they really went out of their way to prepare everything the way she wanted to. She still tell all our friends of the good people especially a girl by the name of Lorryne who went out of her way daily. We had a great stay and plan to bring the who family next year. Loved it.

Relaxing visit

I really liked the setting of the hotel. The grounds from outside our balcony looked like the rain forest. It was very beautiful and relaxing. The pool area was nice...enjoyed the jacuzzi. The restaurant had delicious food but just a note to non-smokers...even though there are signs prohibiting smoking everyone was still doing it with no one telling them otherwise. That was a downer. Other than that, and some ants we had to battle in our room, we liked everything about this hotel. The complimentary umbrellas were a nice touch.

We really loved the Raymayana. Not right on the beach but the shuttle went there every hour. We rented a moped from the hotel which was super easy and toured around. Close to the one waterfall on that side of the island. Reasonably priced restaraunt with good food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that took points off was the bed. Hardest mattress we have slept on in Thailand. The loungers by the pool were more comfortable.

Very relaxing resort & spa, with a nice swimming pool, very friendly staff and nice green surroundings. Bungalow style family rooms were ok, beds standard Thai style stiff. Need transportation to explore the beaches, they rent scooters but we had a car. With that the location was very good.

Lovely staff. Nice wide variety choice for breakfast buffet. Shuttle bus service hourly to Klong prao beach and daily one to waterfall. Unfortunately a bit too far to walk into Klong prao town for dinner so costs 50baht pp for taxi. Dinner at hotel is ok, but not not much choice and better restaurants in town like Kati cooking school. Nice hotel, would have been better if closer to town.

Great location near Lonely and Whitesands beach. We really enjoyed that this hotel was private and not in a busy area. Hotel restaurant offered a wide variety of both Thai and Western cuisine with room service available. We really enjoyed renting the motorbikes which abled us to check out the entire island on our own schedule very affordably. Gym was very nice, air conditioned and offered a wide variety of machines and free weights. Pool and grounds are kept immaculate. We would definitely recommend for families or couples.

I'm going again!!

Three of us friends travelled during low season (August) and booked a twin bed room with extra bed (extra bed for 500thb including breakfast).

We were initially planning to stay at different beaches for each of our days but within the first 10 minutes of experiencing the Ramayana, we unanimously decided we are staying here for the entire trip. It was a really good decision.

Ramayana has excellent food in their restaurant as well as order-in. They have a fantastic pool side with heated jacuzzi and a free shuttle every hour takes you to their private beach 1km away.
The hotel has lakes on two sides of the property which means your front door opens out to a lake view and the balcony opens out to the pool view. Or vice versa.
They also have a convenice store within the property and you can rent motorbikes and tours/activities right from the front desk - totally hassle free.
We got two motorbikes to ride around and also booked a snorkelling trip recommended by them at pretty much the same cost as any tour/activity company.

The quality of this resort is amazing. Attention to detail and staff friendliness is off the charts.

This is one of the best places I've stayed in for a long time.

Very pleasant getaway

The hotel was great, set in wonderfully kept grounds. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced (booked online) so very surprised at the quality of the accommodation. Only (minor) drawback was the lack of WiFi in rooms, available in public areas such as reception and restaurants, coffee shop, etc.
Every day brought a new towel/flower sculpture on the bed, courtesy of the lovely housekeepers, and brought a daily smile :-)

Far fr the beach n fun

Room has balcony and faces the pool, not fantastic- welcome fruit platter was left outdoor. We checked in late and the stale fruit was removed quietly with no replacement. Wifi is only avail at minimart. Shuttle service (v limited slots and timing) only to 'sister hotel beach'- far from all the events and fun. Would recommend hotels around White sands beach for the real Koh Chang experience. Staff at Ramayana are not informative and not very helpful. Motorbike rental is more expensive than outside but provides convenience of returning at hotel. All transfers cost is much higher- better to get your own transport.

Overall poor impression of this hotel.

Oerpriced, not near beach and staff trained to sqeeze every penny out of you. My rate did not include breakfast and if you asked for a glass of water to take medication ... you'll be charged! B.350 for a poor choice of buffet breakfast is a rip off.There are much better places to stay on koh chang.

The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden, so good to take photos. Hourly free tuk-tuks to Kai Bae and Long Prao beaches, not very long walk to waterfall, free tuk-tuks are also available. Breakfast is not so good, very poor choice, night life also very calm. A bit distant from the center of the nightlife.

We had an excellent time here with good service from staff and great food.
The only criticism is that I was with my Thai partner who was subjected to rude staring by male ground staff for some unknown reason. All other staff were fantastic and I would certainly recommend this resort to others

stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend we found the hotel to be well run, friendly staff, good breakfast selection.the only bad point the hotel is not located by the beach although the hotel do offer beach facilities at another hotel about 5 km away with free transfer to that resort.maybe a little overprice.however a great place to stay if you are a couple.

Hyggeligt, frodigt hotel med lækkert poolområde

Hyggeligt hotel med godt poolområde. Fitness-området var dog helt anderledes end der stod på hjemmesiden - det var mangelfuldt og beskidt.
Personalet var ekstremt venlige og meget behjælpelige med alt vi havde brug for.
Hotellet ligger ud til en større vej, hvor der er ringe muligheder for at gå fra hotellet og til de nærmeste byer. Det var dog nemt at få fat i en taxa.

Alle lejligheder lå, så man havde terrasse ind til vandløb eller poolområde. Det gjorde hotellet virkelig hyggeligt!

Nous avons passé 2 semaines magnifiques. L'hôtel est un petit paradis, avec de très beaux extérieurs très bien entretenus, la chambre est grande et bien équipée (peignoir, tongs, serviettes de piscine, parapluies, lampe torche, eau...). La piscine est très agréable. Le petit dejeuner est délicieux et le personnel adorable. La situation est idéale car très centrale. Le parking 2 roues est grand. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute

Für eine Nacht ist ok , aber auf keinen Fall für lange Aufenthalt .
Personal sind mega nett. Aber das Hotel ist richtig alt. Safe war defekt. Essen im Restaurant teuer mit unterschiedlichen Qualität.
Vermeiden Sie den Spa. Dort bekommen sie nur Streicheln und viel Öl. Kein Strand und der Shuttle Bus fährt nur 2 mal am Tag zum Strand .

Das Annika ist ein gutes Hotel.
Die Lage ist ja bekannt. Ein Roller oder Fahrrad also zu empfehlen.
Der Empfang ist herzlich und die Leute einem sofort sympathisch. Sehr schön ist der Garten, wobei etwas mehr Pflege gut tun würde. Und sehr schade ist, das der große Baum am Pool weg ist.
Die Zimmer sind okay. Mehr aber auch nicht. Da merkt man der Anlage das Alter am meisten an. Sehr dinkel durch die verwendeten Materialien.
Der Poolbereich ist schön, aber auch hier wird keine Pflege betrieben wie es mir scheint. Die Hälfte der Liegen ist kaputt.
Noch würde ich das Hotel buchen, aber viel fehlt nicht mehr, damit ich es als schlecht bezeichnen würde.

Oh là là ! Quelle dégringolade. Les avis antérieurs à 2021 ne correspondent plus à la réalité.
Troisième fois que nous venons au RAMANAYA aujourd'hui ANNIKA. En février 2021 tout était parfait.
Aujourd'hui il est indiqué :
Une salle de sport, faux. Abandonnée et aucun appareil en fonction.
Deux restaurants, faux. Un seul
Un café. Faux. Ne fonctionne plus.
Un sauna. Faux n'existe pas.
Un SPA. Faux n'existe pas
Massages. Faux n'existent plus.
Petits déjeuners en chute libre. Il y aurait tellement à redire. Manque de professionalisme criant. Plus du tout le petit déjeuner du RAMANAYA qui se prenait au kiosque et qui est désormais en plein courant d'air avec les bruits routiers.
Pas de plage. Auparavant on vous emmenait sur une belle plage d'un hôtel avec toutes les commodités, aujourd'hui on vous emmène sur un semblant de plage déserte perdu avec aucune commodité.
Chambres spacieuses et literie correctes, toutes exposées sur un magnifique et très joli jardin toujours très bien entretenu. Très agréable piscine et bain à remous dotée de chaises longues matelassées et de parasols.
Ne prennent pas la carte bancaire (aucune, ni locale ni internationale), les notes doivent être réglées en espèces.
Accueil globalement correct.
Entre 35 et 50 euros maxi par nuit, le rapport qualité prix resterait raisonnable. Au delà ça serait bien trop élevé au regard des prestations, de l'emplacement isolé et de tous les manquements pourtant indiqués sur le site Expedia et qui n'existent plus.

Personnel particulierement attentionne notamment au moment du petit dejeuner. Restaurant diner aux prix tout a fait corrects. Neanmoins importantes ruptures de produits pourtant sur la carte. Exemple, plus aucune creme glace ou sorbet. Dommage. Excellent cadre avev des chambres toutes de plein pieds. Pas d etage. Et le tout dans un cadre parfaitement entretenu. Nous y reviendrons.

Очень душевный отель! Несмотря на то, что номера явно уставшие, и в начале проживаемы нас это напрягало, то потом все плюсы отеля перекрыли этот минус! Отель просто замечательный! Уютный, все вокруг радует глаз! Ухоженная территория, прекрасный бассейн с тёплой джакузи. Бассейн работает до 20:00 и вечерние купания были просто сказочными!!! Завтраки однообразные, но вкусные, всегда всего хватало, накормить 3-х летнего ребёнка не было проблемой. Мы довольны своим выбором и скорее всего вернёмся ещё!

Das Resort ist sehr schön angelegt. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mopedverleih im Hotel möglich.
Das Zimmer ist geräumig, das Bad könnte mal renoviert werden, ist aber soweit OK. Klimaanlage war etwas laut.
Da es nicht direkt am Strand liegt, gibt es einen Shuttleservice oder man nimmt ein moped, was am besten ist, da man damit die Insel erkunden kann.
Wir können das Resort empfehlen.

Good value for money

An OK resort with kind of a ”jungle”-feeling with big, well-maintained garden. Situated a bit off from everything and you need to take a taxi/motorbike to get to beaches or restaurants. During daytime they offer free rides to and from a really nice site on Klong Prao beach, which is really nice. The resort is kind of old and outdated, but it is clean and offer nice service like gym and a nice pool. The rooms are quite big. Staff is really nice and vett service-minded. Nice breakfast with many choices. Given the low price, you have to say that it’s good value for money, but don’t expect the newest and most luxurious resort, and be prepared that it’s a bit off the beaches.

Sehr gepflegte, sehr saubere Anlage. Die Unterkünfte sind mit Terrassen ausgestattet und bieten ausreichend Privatsphäre mit Blick ins Grüne (Gärten mit vielen Palmen und Orchideen). Die Zimmer sind groß und geräumig. Die Poolanlage (Kinderpool, Swimmingpool, Whorpool) ist sehr sauber und nicht chlorgetränkt. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist groß und bietet neben Brot/Aufschnitt, frisches Omelette, frisches Obst, engl. Frühstück und täglich wechselnde warme Thaispeisen an. Zu unserer Reisezeit waren viele Familien mit Kleinkindern dort, die vom Personal begrüßt wurden - Kinder wurden dort keineswegs störend empfunden. Allgemein war das Personal sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und interessiert. Die Abendrestaurants waren zu unserem Reisezeitpunkt nicht stark besucht, jedoch war das Essen authentisch thailändisch und stets frisch zubereitet. Das Hotel bietet kostenlos einen täglichen (sehr pünktlichen!) Shuttleservice zum Kai Bae beach (stündlich), whitesand beach (1x täglich) und zu dem nahegelegenen Wasserfall im Djungel an. Zum Wasserfall unbedingt festes Schuhwerk anziehen, man muss am Parkplatz ein Ticket für den Nationalpark kaufen (200 Baht) und noch etwa 15 Minuten durch den Djungel wandern - lohnt sich! Abends ist man in der Anlage abgeschottet vom Trubel, da sie etwas außerhalb liegt. Ramayana vermietet gut gewartete Roller und man kann einfach Taxen ordern um mobil zu sein.

Zusammenfassend waren wir mit der Unterkunft Ramayana überaus zufrieden und würden wieder dort buchen.

Location is not next to the beach but they have free bus rides every day or motorbike rentals if you want. We had access to a car which helped us! :-)

Empfehlung!

Die Anlage des Ramayana ist üppig tropisch bewachsen, wodurch sie sehr romantisch ist. Unser Zimmer war groß und sauber. Lediglich das Bett war etwas hart. Das Frühstück war lecker und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Das Hotel liegt nicht direkt am Strand, was aber gar kein Problem ist, da man sich im Hotel Roller ausleihen kann oder den kostenfreien Shuttle zum Strand nutzen kann. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das außerordentliche Personal, dass stets freundlich und zuvorkommend war. Super Hotel mit klasse Personal und einem ganz sehr empfehlenswerten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

미온수 자쿠지 완전 짱짱!

미온수 자쿠지는 신의 한수!! 수영장 옆에서 놀다 먹은 음식도 넘 좋구. 모든것이 완벽했던 리조트임.
바다는 데와를 통해서 가는 크롱프라우비치인데, 데와 직원들도 친절하고 전혀 눈치보지않게 사용할 수있어요. 그런데... 그 비치에서 샌드플라이 습격을 받아 지금 3일째 가려움에 고생중입니다 ㅜㅠ 바다 나가실분들은 꼭 기피제 뿌리시고 비키니는 자제하셔요... 무서운 샌드플라이.... ㅜㅠ 리조트는 정말 굿굿굿

Das Resort hat einen schönen Garten. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Bett gemütlich. Was etwas stört, ist das zu kleine Bad.
Der Pool ist soweit ganz okay. Etwas klein, aber ganz angenehm.
Wirklich schlecht fand ich nur das Frühstück. Ist der Standardfrass, der einem in ganz Thailand vorgesetzt wird. Billiger Kaffee und Liptontee haut seit den 80igern keinen mehr vom Hocker.

Отель могу рекомендовать смело. Отличные номера в тайском стиле, чисто, очень зелено. Душевно. Ресторан действительно не дорогой и приличный. Тайская еда, чего то европейское (не пробовали) и пицца 26 см. по 170 бат. (брали ее постоянно детям, т.к. они в тайской еде ничего не понимают). Завтраки хорошие. До магазинов и кафешек не далеко, но мы пользовались рестораном отеля чаще, т.к. там атмосфера поприятнее, на мой взгляд. Жалко, что на море просто так пешком не сходишь вечером искупаться. Но если бы не это, то было бы вообще идеально.

Rustig gelegen resort met mooi ingerichte kamers. Lekker afwisselend ontbijtbuffet en gratis shuttle naar zandstrand. Vriendelijke bediening en leuk zwembad. Enigste minpuntje, beetje afgelegen van white sand beach (centrum Koh Chang).

Всем привет! Классный отель, и отличный пляж куда возят загорать. Ванная комната требует немного ремонта. А так всё нам очень понравилось, бог даст на следующий год опять поедем в этот отель. Мы были на машине, и объездили все пляжи и отели на Ко чанге.

Dejligt personale. God restaurant (Karatee) med fair priser. Ok morgenmad (savnede rigtig juice). Stort værelse med myggenet (lidt slidt).
Vi rejste med en 6 mdr gammel baby i klapvogn. Der var lidt mange trapper op til vores værelse og rundt i det fine haveanlæg ved poolen (tænker det heller ikke er særlig handicap venligt).
Der står der er ca. 600 m til nærmeste strand. Men hotellet anbefaler i stedet at man tager deres shuttlebus, som kører hver time, til en anden strand (ca.2 km). Gåturen til den nærmeste strand er ikke særlig praktisk med klapvogn, da man går hhv. ved trafikeret vej og på grusvej/sti - men stranden er fin. Man kan også sagtens have klapvogn med i shuttlebussen. En strandtur med baby kræver således bare lidt planlægning, hvilket gjorde vi følte os lidt strandet på hotellet. Men poolen er lækker og har skygge om eftermiddagen.

When we arrived, we were moved to the sister hotel Awa for two nights because of problems with the airconditioning in our room. This was a high end hotel, and compared to Ramayana a little less cozy, but still with great accomodation and service. When we later stayed at Ramayana we got what we expected, a warm and down to earth hotel with lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Really tranquil with a lot of nature and wildlife. It is a great family hotel, but also for couples - like us. I am coealic, and gave the hotel information about this, and on day three they had arranged it so I got gluten free bread for my breakfast. Very nice (a little bit up the road, you can find a bakery called Crust Bakery, and if you order one day in advance they will make gluten free bread for you!). We are thankful for all the friendliness and service we got at Ramayana, even though we did not get full five days at the hotel. If you are interested in nightlife and pubs, this is a bit far from all the action, but this is not a problem as they have taxis and scooters for rent at the hotel. A little minus is the possibility to charge more than one phone at a time, they could have renewed the adapters, but if you bring your own, it wont be a problem.
