We had an amazing stay here in a western style room with our private onsen. The stuff is amazing, super friendly, and always responsive. The dinner is a multicourse Japanese dinner, and the breakfast is a mixed Japanese and western style buffet breakfast with extensive choices.
They’ll pick you up and drop you off at the train station, which was great. We enjoyed the tea service, evening drum show, firefly viewing, and walking around the beautiful garden.. they have an upstairs and downstairs onsen

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The property has a beautiful garden and offers enjoyable evening activities, including a traditional drum performance. We enjoyed the activities and entertainment during our stay.

The dinner presentation was elegant and beautifully executed, making the dining experience very enjoyable. However, While the food was delicious, the portion sizes felt a little light for our appetite.

Since we booked relatively late, the standard rooms may have already been sold out, and the only room available included access to the wine lounge. The wine lounge access was bundled into the room rate and could not be excluded. As we are not wine drinkers, we did not take advantage of the wine selection, although we did have some light snacks there after dinner.

We traveled to the hotel by bus and then walked the remaining distance. According to Google Maps, it was only about a 15-minute walk, but parts of the route lacked sidewalks, making the walk less comfortable and somewhat inconvenient. We were unsure of our arrival time, so we did not reserve the hotel’s shuttle service in advance. Overall, we found the location a bit inconvenient without a car and ended up taking a taxi when we left.

Despite these minor inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hotel’s beautiful setting, unique activities, and quality dining experience.

Beautiful luxury hotel with amazing attentive staff. They prioritize making you feel welcome and as comfortable as possible including giving a tour of the main areas and your room when you get there. The dinner and breakfast are also amazing - our server Yuri was so sweet! We also had a phenomenal view of Mount Fuji in the early morning and the after+dinner Taiko drum show was a highlight. We only stayed for one night but it was certainly memorable and hopefully can return for longer in the future. Definitely recommend for a high-end stay near Mount Fuji!

We loved our stay here. We stayed in a room with a private onsen and a garden. Honestly, garden room is a way better choice than Fuji view since Fuji isn’t always visible. Staff was great. Food was ok- the staff also didn’t read our notes to them that we had allergies and on the first night because of this we couldn’t eat half the food. They did apologize and made up for it the last night. Our room in the outdoor shower had some mold. In the indoor shower, someone else’s hair was left in there (we know it wasn’t ours because we noticed it right as we walked in). The hotel itself smells a little fishy and weird but you get used to it. We also got a massage at the spa and it was incredible. Overall, a nice getaway from busy Tokyo.

We have a great time from checking in to the time of check out the environment is so peaceful, the room is so clean and comfortable. The garden is so beautiful that one can just stay and enjoy all day… the sound of the flowing water was there while enjoying the colors of the surroundings. Oh the view of Mount Fuji was stunning.

Excellent stay at a beautiful property with gorgeous grounds. Check-in was wonderful and the attention to detail throughout the hotel is outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly make you feel welcomed. No detail goes unnoticed here.

My only comment would be regarding the shuttle pick-up process from the bus station. It can feel very chaotic, and the hotel only allows phone calls for arranging pick-up rather than email communication. Not every traveler has access to a working phone while abroad, so it can be inconvenient having to ask the tourist information desk to call on your behalf when there are already hundreds of travelers seeking assistance.

Other than that, I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this property. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again.

Stayed for 2 nights in Sanri comfort for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The view was phenomenal we were able to see fuji both mornings. My wife had the best massage of her life in the spa. The dinner was excellent but for a more adventurous eater. We really enjoyed the private onsen.

Kaneyamaen onsen Hotel is an excellent onsen hotel with all amenities provided in the room and waking up with the view of Mount Fuji from the bedroom is unforgettable! The breakfast and dinner options are delicious and they make every effort to accommodate dietary requirement as best they can if told in advance.

The drum show and evening bingo is great for a fun evening if you want a break from having a soak in the onsen or sauna facilities in the hotel. The gardens are well maintained and despite the size of the hotel you can find a quiet spot to relax in the manicured Japanese gardens.

I would be happy to stay at the Kaneyamaen hotel if we have the opportunity to visit Japan again.

Room with Mt Fuji view = spectacular during clear sky! Breakfast quite expansive selection, although only 7am-9am, vs standard of 6:30/7am to 10am. Private room Kaiseki dinner was fabulous (not all rooms have private room) - a bit pricey overall but if you consider it an all-inclusive (minus lunch) then it’s fabulous. We were there three nights and didn’t leave property - would stay five nights next time! Nightly drum show was great for kids (and adults!)

We were lucky enough to book one of the few rooms with a onsen bath and a view of Mount Fuji and experience the traditional Japanese futon sleeping arrangements.
The evening meal was up there with the best we've experienced anywhere in our own private dining room
The drum show was unique to watch and was in awe of their timing.
The gardens around the hotel were beautiful and peaceful.

Dor dinner we dressed in traditional Japanese clothing provided in our room, you could also go the the Kimono boutique and wear one of those too.

It was an incredible experience, time to relax after a hustling Tokyo and before heading to Kyoto.
I'd highly recommend

My wife and I were visiting Japan for our late honeymoon. And we were treated with much respect from the Fujisan Onsen Hotel staff. Everyone was so polite and patient with us. We loved our hotel room and the view of Mt.Fuji. My wife especially loved to lay on the couch infront of the window and wished she could've stayed there forever. Her favorite was the massage because she fell asleep twice! The massage technique is very different from the american ones so she said it felt so good after walking 20,000 steps a day. The shuttle bus pickup/drop-off was not difficult to call for. They picked us up in about 15 minutes. It did not take long. Everything was great! We really enjoyed this hotel and felt super spoiled. We hope to return again in the future.

It was a great experience! We stayed for just one night, as a transition from Kyoto to Tokyo. Although it was rainy, cold and Mt Fuji was not visible, it was the best place to stay. The welcoming staff at the reception, they take care of luggage immediately for you. You get a tour of the hotel by one of the staff which explains you all the itinerary of events and get you to you room. Our room was a traditional room with a hot spring looking at Mt Fuji (which unfortunately was not visible), tatami floor, traditional beds and all :) Then we got to wear a kimono, get a tea on the beautiful tea house surrounded by the cutest garden; we got a private traditional lunch, i got to experience also the hot springs at the rooftop. The buffet breakfast is extensive and delicious, plus the souvenir shop had great prices and lots of items. A perfect cozy and resting day. My score deduction is only for some upgrades that are needed but it is my only comment. The next day we checked out and we got the hotel offers a free shuttle until noon to the bus station. Here we stored our luggage easily and got to spend the rest of the afternoon in town and got to see Mt Fuji.

Check-in was quick and efficient. We had 4 rooms for a group of 10. The wine lounge (included as our package) was a great way to hang around with variety of wines, snacks, ice cream, etc. We missed the tea house as we were there at 4p and spent time to settle and picked our yukata before closing at 6pm. Dinner was good even though we didn’t have the wagyu package. Buffet breakfast has a lot of variety. The bed or futons were comfortable. In a nutshell the the place very nice, just too pricy. Would be nice if we can stay for another night to enjoy everything there.

We had a fabulous stay. We loved our private onsen on the first floor, it was surrounded by rocks and very serene. The dinner and breakfast were also fabulous. We were a bit nervous with our 11 year old who can be a picky eater, but they provided a children’s menu for the main dinner, while allowing her to try a few things from the adult dinner. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The first morning we woke up and peeled back our curtain, Mount Fuji was in full view. It was spectacular. It was also serene to enjoy the view from our private open air bath. The breakfast was fantastic with so many options, and dinner was beautifully played. The staff was very kind and welcoming — we were initially worried because we mentioned that my husband has celiac disease and cannot eat gluten, and they seemed unwilling to accommodate. But, once we were there, they made sure to review with him what he could eat — it was likely just a language barrier and misunderstanding of his restrictions. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to Kawafuchiko station, which is helpful if you want to explore the lake and when you are ready to leave town.

This is a very interesting property. We visited to glimpse Fujisan but were denied. The property is dated but has obvious charm with typical japanese 70s style architecture. The outdoor onsen is very nice. Not crowded even on a weekend. Food was really fabulous. There is good entertainment in the evening and plenty of little clubs to drink wine. I recommend this place

Don’t believe the one star reviews, this is an amazing, authentic experience with wonderful hosts.

The property is spotless - this is a mineral spa and there will be deposits on the spa baths. The food is wonderful but they will struggle with significant dietary restrictions. We don’t eat meat and confirmed a couple of times this was OK well before we arrived.

This is a Japanese resort. If you aren’t keen on an immersive experience this is not for you. The weather was terrible when we stayed and we still loved every minute. Including the wine bar!

Hot tip. Arrive early for the drumming show. Both nights we stayed were standing room.

This resort is an amazing all-inclusive place with the wine lounge access. The gardens are beyond amazing—they go on and on. They must have many gardeners on staff. Inclusive kaiseki meal was excellent, much better than normal resort food. Private onsen on the balcony was so special and perfect. The wine lounge was phenomenal with unlimited tasting portions of wines from all around Japan. The drumming performance was a nice touch for evening entertainment. The hotel bar and izakaya were great for later night options (the bar looks out over the magical gardens). A really special place that we’d return to. Mount Fuji is right there too, although if you want to see it, don’t visit in the summer. Loved the samurai pjs to wear around and the yukata. I’d give this resort 5 stars if only they would have certain hours reserved in the onsen for guests with tattoos. We did book a room with a private onsen, but would have loved to use the bigger facilities.

The hotel has many amazing amenities and the Onsen and food was amazing, as well as the garden around it. However, the service was very poor, and when we were checking out, they changed the fee to be over 400 dollars more expensive, denied that the original price which they had written on a sheet during our check in was cheaper, and threatened to call the police when we questioned them.

We booked a room with private onsen with mount fuji view - it was honestly a great experience (apart from the fact we were lucky enough to wake up to mount fuji). The resort itself, while built a long time back, is reasonably well maintained. The tatami room is a treat and my 1.5yo absolutely loved it. There were so much to do everyday, from trying out yukata to tea appreciation to drum performance in the evening and wine tasting. If I were to go back to Mt Fuji area, I will no doubt choose this property again. Also special mention to the wonderful Ms Fukunaga. She took such good care of us including our 1.5yo. She's an asset to the resort for sure!

Our view of Mt. Fuji was incredible. Lucky we got our pictures in right away because once it disappeared, we didn't see it again. Food, grounds and onsen at Kaneyamaen were first class. We really enjoyed our stay.

It was painful to leave!

This hotel offers SO much. Two onsens, restaurants, lounges, free kimono rental, drum performance, karaoke, beautiful gardens, tea, massages, facials, half-board dinner, and a fantastic view of Mount Fuji (if you go on a good day!) We stayed two nights and were not able to do it all. If you want a relaxing stay with plenty to do just in the hotel, this is an excellent choice and a major highlight of our trip to Japan.
I went to the rooftop Onsen early in the morning and had the most spectacular view of Mount Fuji. I literally visited the onsen four times in two days…and had the Onsen all to myself multiple times.
Plus, the wine lounge is unlimited wine, coffee, tea, bar snacks, and ice cream!
I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we are already hoping to book again!!

We loved our stay here. The service was exceptional.

We took a Japanese style room with in-room dining. We really liked the full course meal served in room. There was a drum show at night which was fun. The on-site hot spring with views of Mt Fuji was an awesome experience. They had it split by gender so females could go in the evening and males in the morning.

They also have a wine lounge with free wine, snacks and ice cream that we really enjoyed. In the morning, we could get coffee here with great views of Mt. Fuji. In the evening, they have a tea and snack. We did not enjoy the tea but that may be up to personal preferences.

Overall, we would highly recommend this place for views of Mt Fuji, calm secluded stays, and a real experience of Japanese hospitality.

This property was amazing, the hotel and rooms were beautiful. The private in room onsen and view of Mt Fuji from our room was incredible. The staff was top notch, friendly, professional & very helpful, having most of the checkin process in the room was very nice. Amenities & food were excellent! Also the garden and grounds were beautiful and a true nature lovers paradise. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

Traditional Japanese Onsen offering a great authentic experience. Sleeping in the floor wasn’t comfortable but this is part of the deal. Great food, but no western options so if you don’t like Japanese cuisine you won’t have much else to eat
