I am actually very upset, the whole reason I booked a hotel, and this hotel specifically, was because the amenities included air-conditioning, I have trouble sleeping in hotter temperatures, so that was the reason I decided to get a hotel for a few nights instead of staying with family. After the first night I went to ask for a room change because my air conditioner was not working, to which the front desk agent told me that this time of year they disable both the air-conditioning and the heaters, and offered me a fan to put in the room, which even with the fan running it was colder outside than in the room. The result was I spent 3 days barely sleeping, walking back and forth a couple kilometers to my familys house, which if I knew they were not going to have air-conditioning, I would have just stayed with the family the whole time. Super disappointing to spend almost $400 for such an experience

The hotel is very nice with renovated, modern rooms, very clean. The staff has been extremely helpful and nice. It has a nice pool and very good parking options (garage) which was very convenient!

The location is OK (close to the sea shore – we had a room with sea view: nice) but not overwhelming. It's about 20 min by foot from the city center. There are no (good) restaurants very close (unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday when the internal restaurant was closed). We took the car to the railroad station (where there is a nice parking), a 5 min ride, and had dinner in the port/station area.

If the location doesn't matter I can highly recommend this hotel!

Sign on front desk saying, ‘we will make it right if you’re not happy’ how can this happen if the manager doesn’t even call to discuss your concerns.

Quiet room - Junior suite but very sparse on soft furnishings. No spoon for coffee. Had to request additional beverage supplies from reception, but not a problem.
Enjoyed eve meal in adjacent grill restaurant. No other decent places to eat nearby.

Pool is the only good thing about this hotel. Staff gave us incorrect information about a taxi to the airport. We were told on check in it costs EUR 20- our taxi driver had a laminated piece of paper that stated it was EUR 25. We didn't have this on us, and it caused a BIG issue with the taxi driver when we got to the airport. (23 EUR was unacceptable!)
Cleanliness was ok, except when my friend trod in broken glass at the pool bar. The broken glass continued to stay on the floor for another 10 mins before someone came out and cleaned it up- no sign or warning for other customers, except for us watching out. And because of poolside rules, no shoes were allowed, so it was dangerous. My friend is lucky she didn't cut herself.
Everything is grossly overpriced (as expected for a chain hotel).
Overall, wish we'd stayed elsewhere.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the hotel as part of a celebration holiday.
We would like to thank the management for taking the trouble to have our room set up with flowers and towels decorated in romantic shapes on our arrival. We have experienced this on cruises but it was a lovely start to the stay. We had a nice room overlooking the bay and the breakfast was excellent. Yes, it is a 40 minute walk to the centre, but there is a regular and cheap bus. After 7 there is free parking in town. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Excellent hotel with great suite. Ajaccio is a lovely centre for the west of Corsica. It lies very close to the mountainous area. The hotel lies across the bay and is a 40 minute or so walk on the flat but is hot with only some shade in the afternoon. However there are buses every 15 minutes or so to the centre. They cost 1 e per person per way and are great if no car. A car hire helps a lot to get around and this area is lovely to explore to the south and south east but roads are slow even the most major is only one lane each way with switchbacks so it can take a speed of about 30mph max. Lots of great restaurants in the centre especially near the citadel. Good shops. The beach mentioned 5 minute walk away is very dubious however. The main hotel restaurant is from the Coutepaille franchise, but actually is very good. We went 3 days out of 5 and happy. Roads are a bit to frenetic for cycles.

The hotel is very nice but very expensive as it is quite far from town (20-25 minute walk). I would expect these prices for this level of hotel to be in the centre of town. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the car park is a nice addition.

We rode the ferry from Toulon to Ajaccio and so we arrived early, but our room wasn't ready. The receptionist took my phone number and called me about 1 1/2 hours later letting me know our room was ready. The room was large and very comfortable and the view across the sea was spectacular from the pool.

This is an apartment-hotel.
It has a view of the golf of Ajaccio, but there is the national road between the Western and the sea....very noisy.
The room was not ready on time. They asked us to sit and wait a few minutes, but they forgot we were there! I finally had to go back to the registration desk.
The bed was supposed to be a queen size, and it was not. But they assured us that this was a queen size in France! Come on....
The first night, there was a party going on the outside terrace, until the wee hours. Great to have a clam night.
Good if you have a family or a student and want to cook in-house
We thought it was highly overrated.

The Friendliest Employees Ever!

I cannot say enough about how our stay at the Best Western Ajaccio was. The staff always went above and beyond to be helpful. Every single person was super friendly and accommodating - I really appreciated their efforts.
The location was a bit challenging - on the outskirts of downtown, but easily accessible with the unpredictable city bus (fare = 1 euro).
The people on the Team at the Best Western Ajaccio truly made the difference in our stay.

A few minutes from downtown Ajaccio, great hotel

Not far from downtown Ajaccio, away from the commotion. Great view of the Ajaccio bay, amazing heated Infiniti pool with a swimmer's spa. Good breakfast which is regularly refilled with fresh croissants, local meats and cheeses, not forgetting the local jams!
The rooms are good size, we booked the family room with a king size bed and a trundle bed (makes into two win beds). The rooms are clean and seem renovated. Plenty of towels for every one , nice and thick. Free wifi, free outdoor parking (parking downtown is almost impossible). Bus stop very nearby To go downtown (1€ each way). The hotel staff is ok, at reception, they seem a bit lost however...but with a smile, always. Highlight of the hotel, the sheeps who are on a vacant lot next to the hotel; we and the kids loved it, seriously! And the view, view , view. Downside of the hotel is their partner restaurant the Courtepaille. As guests of the hotel, you get 10% off. And the restaurant is convenient by location and opening hours (they close at 11pm). The service is however totally awful. So totally awful that you don't get to appreciate that the food is actually pretty decent and the price too. You just want to walk out and leave. so if you decide to stay at this hotel, just forgo the partner restaurant and you will happy overall

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with a nautical feel that was very efficient, usable and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic with a variety of cheeses and meats along with wonderful variety of fresh breads. I will stay here again when I am next in Ajaccio. The only negative is it is about a mile walk to town and the cabs are way over priced (25 euro for less than a 2 mile drive to the airport).

Well run but uninspiring and far from town

We chose this hotel the easy, free parking, but that meant mean that it’s some distance from the centre – probably 40 minutes’ walk through some not all that salubrious areas. There is a bus, but it doesn’t run beyond about 8:30pm. It’s is a fairly standard modern hotel; not a bad one, just rather uninteresting. There’s a large hot tub and a smallish swimming pool and sun-lounger area. Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly, though their efficiency wasn’t always matched in the bar area).

The superior room is a little on the small side, but the king size double was comfortable. The wardrobe was quite tight, and the bathroom too – a standard ‘pod’ that wouldn’t have been out of place on a cruise ship. To be fair, it was all kept spotlessly clean and good, free, Wi-Fi.

The hotel do a cold buffet breakfast at €12 or there are places some way along the road into town. Only restaurant is a Courtepaille in the complex, a bit like Little Chef – can be OK or, as we found one night, relatively poor. It’s quite a distance to another one.

This hotel does what it sets out to do fairly well, in some cases very well, so you need to decide if the modern blandness and location are what you want. For us, in retrospect, it wasn’t.

SMALL HOTEL BUT HIGH STANDARDS

We had a wonderfull stay. The rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. It's well located. A ten minute drive from city center. Close to a bus station. Many beautifull beaches close to the hotel and city. They have very good beds.Good storage. Breakfast is delicious and more than a breakfast. The employees at the front desk are very helpfull.

Good value considering its location. Swimming pool with a separate spa, set in spacious sunbathing terrace. Buffet-style Continental breakfast with cold meats & cheese supplementing normal offerings are available at a very reasonable cost. Both times we stayed here, we had been travelling all day. Being able to eat late at the restaurant that is just a few steps from the hotel was most welcome.

Terrible experience in smokey room!

Terrible! We expected a non-smoking room and it showed as a non-smoking hotel and room. We arrived into a smoke filled stinking room. The front desk were rude and unhelpful. They claimed the hotel was full and there was nothing they could do about the smokey room. They indicated that they are not responsible for what people do in their rooms and if they chose to smoke that was their business. I'll never stay at a Best Western Hotel again.
