Everything was good as expected of 4 star hotel. Property was spacious and clean. Food was OK. All the staff were polite and helpful apart from some staff at the restaurant who were in their own world rather than looking after the guests. I needed to draw attention of the staff many times for my needs as they appeared to have forgotten that I am there.

The hotel was wonderful. I was a solo traveler and felt very safe here. The concierge Amit seemed to be looking out for me. He was very helpful in everyway. I was able to walk to India Museum from this hotel as well as Saint John's Church for the Black hole of Kolkata memorial. The breakfast in the morning was very nice, although the staff did seem to have a hard time keeping everything fully stocked. I would definitely stay again.

Lean a hand. They were so nice and helpful. Food from Oceania was great..If you are sensitive to noise I advise you ask for a quieter side of the hotel as where I was, faced the road. The noise from traffic went a lot of the day and night with a loud speaker also on top of this. Otherwise great stay thankyou

Rooms cleanliness could be seriouly improved, to the standards advertised.
We were in rooms 1105 and 1106. Occasionally roaches, and a lot of dust in the rear and underneath the beds.
We had to address it to be fixed, but a tip was always subtly requested by housekeepers.
Staff, extremely polite and always with a smile. But our taxis to the airport were organised by 2 senior Bell men. They gave us a promising 600 roopies for 2 vehicles each. When we boarded the vehicles, the booking was for another destination matching 600 roopies,not the Airport!!!! After arguing with the Uber drivers, we finally paid 2000 roupees for each taxis.
Breakfast buffet: it is advertised as international. THAT IS A WRONG DESCRIPTION. MOSTLY indian food, even yogurts are local. The only international food were omelette and corn flakes. Breakfast clearly needs to be improved.
But overall, the GM was extremely condescendant, briefed his staff to care for us above expectations.
Location is very good too.

As a returning guest, I am deeply disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. While our first visit was excellent, this second experience fell significantly short of expectations.

The service quality has deteriorated considerably, particularly at the front desk. Despite having confirmed reservations for two superior rooms, we faced numerous challenges:

Major Issues Encountered:

1. Unresponsive customer support phone line
2. Extended check-in delays due to "rooms not being ready"
3. Room type discrepancy - given lower category rooms than booked, with a casual suggestion to "adjust for one night"
4. Misleading website photos - advertised images are from the original building, while we were placed in the new building without reception facilities
5. Extremely poor room service responsiveness requiring multiple follow-ups
The staff's default response to any concern was simply "this is our policy," showing little regard for guest satisfaction.
For a hotel charging premium rates, the service standards are unacceptably low. The disconnect between price point and service quality is striking.

Given this unsatisfactory experience, I cannot recommend this hotel for family stays and will not be returning.

It had cockroaches in the room- spotted small cockroaches in teh bathroom sink on multiple days. They changed the room. Overall experience - quite bad.

Staff was unfelpful want requested to accomodate an additional person in their guest roster, though only 2 of us stayed in the room for 9 days. We wanted them swap one guest with another for some of the days but they were unwilling to help.
Power cut - once got stuck in the elevator due to power disruption - though it restarted shortly but the claustrophobic feeling during the power cut in the elevator in hot weather was something else.

I would have rated this hotel a full 5 stars but for one disappointing experience. On our last day I had a very early flight but my companion wasn’t leaving until late morning. I checked out at 5:30 AM (the reservation was in my name and credit card.) I specifically told the desk clerk my companion was still in the room and would be having breakfast later. He assured me it would not be an issue, and breakfast was included in the room. Later, my companion was told the opposite - they were denied breakfast. How sad that something as simple as breakfast can ruin a great stay - and a hotel review. Other than the above, the food was good and the suite was superb.

I recently stayed at the peerless Hotel in Kolkata for a week located near Park Street, which is one of the city's most vibrant areas, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. The staff were extremely courteous and attentive throughout my stay. The hotel's restaurant served a variety of dishes with a special emphasis on Bengali cuisine, which I absolutely loved. The food was flavorful, and I particularly enjoyed the local delicacies. The breakfast Buffett was also a highlight, offering wide range of options, from continental to local Indian dishes.
Overall, a memorable experience.

Love the stay except noise.

Excellent team and always attended with warm smiles but the hotel being on busy main road & near central bus stop, it was too noisy since very early morning even at top floor. Noise of loudspeakers & constant honking was a challenge.
At the same, the area is quite vibrant and especially during Christmas-New Year. Ventured authentic foods across age old restaurants around along with awesome foods from Aheli (in-house restaurant). Shopping at New Market was an added point. Authentic Indian Handloom items for Handloom House at Lindsay Street was a bonus.

One of the worst hotel ever for the price

This was one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever been to. The carpets both inside and outside the rooms weee really dirty. Bathroom were in a really shabby condition and in fact I am pretty sure it even had mold in it.

For the money they charge it was at best a one star hotel experience.

I would never stay here again.

Excellent location in the middle of the city. Very close to the metro and the bus station. I was housed in the new building and that was very nice. Previously, I had stayed in the old building and the bathroom was not clean. I was told that those rooms are being renovated.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Parking may become an issue if there are other events going on, though the staff tries to help out.

On site restaurants have excellent food.

Overall had an excellent stay.

Booked 3 rooms. At the check in hotel said they had reservations for 2 rooms only. Hotel staff took no initiative to resolve the issues with Hotel.com. They said they didn’t even have the number to contact Hotels.com. Luckily the online chat of Hotels.com was a big help. The agent resolved the issue in less than 15 minutes. So, highly dissatisfied with Peerless Inn, but quite satisfied with Hotels.com.

I and my wife stayed at Peerless Inn for 04 nights from 20-24 January 2020. We chose this hotel for its location and being a 4* we were expecting basic minimum standards. Our nightmare started from the time we checked in. Since, we had booked online and prepaid for the entire duration of our stay, we were compelled to endure the nightmare.
We were first allotted a room on 03rd floor, overlooking a hollowed out dilapidated building so it was not possible to even open the windows. On complaining, next day we were allotted a room on the 08th floor overlooking a street infested with Hawkers and the Hawkers were so loud that it is impossible to rest during day time. Nights were worse, every morning we got up with severe backache since, the beds had ‘bonnell spring’ mattresses. And being used to ‘natural foam’ mattresses, we just could not sleep.
Apparently, for environmental reasons, drinking water in the rooms was provided in glass bottles that were supposedly refilled with purified water. However, from Day 2, I started having stomach cramps and an upset tummy. After Day 3, we realized that the water being supplied was from dysfunctional UV water filters and was being handled in a very unhygienic manner. We immediately, switched over to bottled water and thankfully started recovering.
The F&B arrangements were no better. Fresh juices were being mixed with water and every morning we had to ask for freshly squeezed juices without dilution. At breakfast, uncleared tables/plates were

Imagine hearing hawker calls through your 8th floor window..thats how soundproof they were. The apparently filtered water was being filled at a run down UV filter, which was not even working. At breakfast, excepting Chicken sausage, there was no other non veg item. Further, we were given diluted juice, and they knew exactly what they were serving !! The staff is so reluctant to clean tables as if it hurts their ego to do so...the first time we have come across such a lopsided approach in our experience in hospitality. In all, a very disappointing experience never to be repeated and forewarning to others.

The hotel is at a perfect location. Just outside there is a large market area and a lot of street food to experience. The staff was friendly and also helpful.

First night stayed in old section of the hotel, room carpet was filthy bathroom tiles were dirty, mould behind the bathroom door. After complaining was shifted to the new section room was much better. Only thing the housekeeping do not dust the room. Toiletries are not supplied but soap in hand pumps.

The staff seemed to be too worried about the payments. Everytime I ordered for something I was told it's payable. I don't understand if I am asking for room service don't I know it is chargeable! Again the Room payments, my goodness it seemed so cheap to find them nagging to make the full payments even prior to my completing the days I have stayed...gave an impression that they don't have quality people staying in their hotel...again food choice was limited for vegetarians and prices were very high. Not happy with my stay there...

The rooms in old building are not so good. Carpets are stained and dirty. We were upgraded to a suite in old building after they failed to give us a room in the new building. I would suggest to get a room in the new building if you want to stay here. Location is very good, right by new market and shopping places.
