We had a fabulous 7 night stay in a deluxe pool villa, we loved it , it was clean ,spacious & a very comfy bed.
Having a private pool was so luxurious to be able to cool off whenever we felt hot & the sun loungers were a bonus to relax on. All of the staff are so friendly & welcoming. The breakfast was delicious & freshly cooked to order . Also the Spa massages were brilliant , the best we have had in Bali ever ! Highly recommend Sun Island & cant wait to stay again.

Was great staying here as it was central to everything - shopping, restaurants, clubs etc. Staff were always friendly and great talking too! They had great tips and advice about different places to go or services to use etc. Room was cleaned daily, breakfast was lovely and all you needed. Pool was a bit dirty at times but that was the only thing.

This is our 2nd stay at Sun Island and it was just as we remembered so beautiful and quiet. The rooms are lovely and spacious and cool. The staff are so friendly and accommodating I would recommend Sun Island if your looking for a place that is in the middle of everything and is really quiet.

The property was tucked just behind the bustling main stretch of the stalls selling their items. It made for a quiet relaxing stay - we didnt hear any of the traffic.
The range of massages offered by the villas was incredible and well worth it. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend stating - more variation in the breakfast menu would be good

Upon arrival the Villa did not have my booking and the staff were amazing at finding a solution. The villa was a good size and clean pool and linen was lovely.
I have stayed in Villas a lot in Bali and have never had to ask for crockery and cutlery, no glasses, no plates, no knives or forks....2 coffee cups with saucer and teaspoon only.
I had to ask for glasses and a bottle opener, the one glass I was given was promptly talen away the next day and no other items were supplied. A water dispenser is supplied, but no glasses to drink out of.
I feel the staff are doing there best with the resources thay have.
The most shocking thing was the urine stain marks on the stone tiles, the staff advised me the stone is hard to clean but I have never seen this in any Bali villa.
The one restaurant meal I had was reheated pizza and what tasted like days old pork belly with packet sauce and packet mash....
I was going to book this Villa for my daughter but definitely will not now.
The location, security, and villa size are the few good things about Sun Island Boutique Villas. I will definitely be going back to Villa Bugis or Jas Green Villas instead.

We stayed at the sun island for a one night stay due to a cancelled flight. Check in and communication was smooth
The Villa was lovely, and well kept with all the needed amentites.

Whilst the bed did look clean from the outside perspective when we took off the doona we noticed many stains which made us both uncomfortable for the night.

Breakfast was tasty and a good range of options. Bring your bug spray though as a lot of mosquitos around the area.

Happy with the property ,and the staff were amazing ,but there are a couple of things that would stop me recommending
1st the wifi is terrible,the wifi will drop out every hour is so meaning you have to resign in all the time which is terribly frustrating.
The next couple of things are out of their control but have a great effect on the quality of the stay
There is a rooster near by that like to start his daily Routine around 4.30 , I suggest you bring ear plugs if you want to stay asleep past that time, by day 3, I was wearing my noise cancellation headphones to bed to try and sleep in.
There is also no reception from any of the carriers, you basically have to leave the villa and sit in the parking lot if you need reception for any reason whatsoever ever , which is a complete pain ,especially when you get eaten alive by bugs in the car park.
Overall a ok stay,would be amazing if a couple of pain points were somehow rectified

Conveniently located near to all amenities. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them when making special requests. The villa is spacious, the bed comfortable and it was fabulous to have our own private pool. The resort pool is lovely. The restaurant served a limited menu but what was offered was tasty. It is a shame the day spa is not yet operating however there are many fabulous spas within walking distance of the resort. Highly recommended for couples and solo travellers. I will definitely stay here again.

The villa is spacious. The private pool is good for dipping but if you wanna swim , head out to the main swimming pool. The entrance to the compound is located at the main road of Seminyak - which is convenient - while the villas are located deep within the compound that they are reasonably tranquil and serene.

My main gripe about the villa is its poor Internet connection which was a big issue for me as I was here for business. At its worst, my Zoom calls would get disconnected every 15mins. The hotel staff tried their best to move me to a unit closest to the Internet router (Villa #21). But even that was not nearly good enough. On an important meeting day, I had to work out of co working space with stable Internet connection.

If you're in Bali for business/ workcation, this isn't a villa for you. But if you're here for a vacation, it's good.

We had an amazing stay at Sun Island Seminyak! The photos don’t do the property justice!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom pool villa which was the perfect size and we even had room in our garden for morning workouts before breakfast. The staff are extremely tentative and more than happy to help with any questions, they gave us great restaurant recommendations for the area.

The villas are good distance from the busy road so you don’t hear anything (not even a taxi horn!) and it’s only a 10 min walk to double six beach.

We will definitely be back on our next visit to Bali!

We stayed at the Sun Island Villa for our anniversary! To our surprise, they had made up the room really nice and gave us a cake. The staff was extremely friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them.

If you stay here you must do the spa! We LOVED it. The facial and massages were fantastic!!!! It was really nice to just walk out of our room and go right to the spa instead of having to travel a bit for one.

Our room was very clean and nice!

I would suggest staying here for sure! It was close to everything. There's a restraunt called Grain that is right by it that is worth going to !

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Sun Island Villas. It's a great location, the villas are just serene and it's very quiet and restful. As always, the staff are so lovely and welcoming, very attentive and you see lots of smiling faces. It's always sad to leave, but we are comforted by the fact that we much look forward to going back to Sun Island soon. We have been to Bali 20 times and this would be one of the best places we have stayed at (and we have experienced some good ones along the way).

Had good impression of the villa prior to our stay however, it was quite a let down. The floor tiles in the room especially the vanity and toilet area should be non slip material. Toilet seat was fitted with a wash let but the device was ill fitting and was a little too small for the toilet bowl . Breakfast selection was limited. The saving grace was the local area.

Relaxing Hotel with Private Pools

We stayed in a two bedroom villa. It was beautiful and spacious with a living area, table and kitchenette. Outside was a small plunge pool with two lounge chairs, another small seating area and upstairs outside were additional loungers.

We enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and private.

Food was some of the best we had in the area and I would recommend including the breakfast with your booking as it's all you can eat and pretty yummy.

Staff was always kind and helpful. Reception was able to assist in booking drivers for the day.

The spa at the hotel was nice and with the discounted prices, very affordable.

Sun Island Boutique Hotel and Spa is located closer to Legian and Double Six Street than the center of Seminyak, however all locations in Seminyak are a quick drive or a 15 minute walk away.

Lots of shopping--especially for handmade leather items--nearby. Some restaurants around too, however I think the better ones are more near Seminyak.

The room (3A) though spacious is dated. The water in the shower would not clear off fast enough. They were almost overflowing out of the bathroom. The same bottles of shower gel and shampoo are used which makes me wonder if the refills are indeed what is mentioned in the ingredients. If you like the \"old charm\" design, this is the place for you. The staffs do try their best to smile and make an effort but I do doubt if some of them are genuine.

Quite and Relaxing

We were looking to find something small, quite and to get away from the family thing and something more for just couples. With only 24 Villas, the Sun Island Boutique Villas seemed to deliver. While there were a coupe of families staying there, they seemed to stick to their villa and did not see them at the main pool/bar area. For most of the time we used the main pool/bar area we were the only ones there. It must of been because each villa come with its own plunge pool.

Very central to Seminyak and an easy walk to the beach. Close to a lot of good restaurants, cafes and a reputable money exchange just down the street.

Staff very friendly, good on site services including room service, restaurant and day spa which I used.

A good place to unwind from the busy streets of Bali and is very sheltered.

We arrived to an unassuming entrance with a small reception. The staff speak good english and quickly checked us in. We stayed in a Deluxe Villa, which was spacious, excellent aircon, awesome bed and very quiet. The villa looked exactly like the pictures. Extremely happy with our decision. Its in a great location, about 50m from Bintang Supermarket. Taxis are easy to get and know the address. Budi and Edie took great care of us at breakfast which was really good. The Buffet is small, however they make up for it with the cooked breakfast which was delicious, best pancakes and french toast in Bali!

Nice villas in reasonable spot

Rooms were nice and staff very nice but that was was it stopped. Breakfast menu - limited, Dinner menu same. Only a few other couples in the restaurant for breakfast, nobody there for lunch or dinner. We did eat there once for dinner but the food was not what we ordered and when we questioned why the spaghetti marinara looked and tasted like spaghetti bolognese the waiter explained it away as the seafood was all mashed-up in the bolognese sauce. The place was empty and there was no atmosphere.
A lot of the villas were being renovated at the time so that might explain the lack of atmosphere or why it was so empty. For the price we paid it was probably fair.
We also found the villas were constantly being entered by the staff at all times of day and early evening, without notice. Once the villas have been cleaned there should be no reason for staff to go back in there. We put a do not disturb sign on the door one early evening as we had to be up at 2.30 to do the volcano, we got a call from reception at about 8pm asking if we wanted the room sprayed for mosquitos - Do not disturb should mean don't call either.
Automatic alarm call from reception didn't work either

Would recommend these Villas to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway. From check in to check out everything was perfect. The staff always have a smile on their face and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa which was huge! Private plunge pool was a good size. We went out before dark one day and came back to find the lights on for us and the bed turned down. Fabulous service!

Fantastic 2nd stay at sun island

My 2nd stay, this time in the standard villa (last time in deluxe). Loved both just as much, deluxe obviously much larger but both are big by any standard. The plunge pools are just fantastic and despite being a perfect location for Seminyak and Kuta access it's remarkably quiet (except for one night when there was a live band nearby but it didn't go late). Will definitely stay at sun island again. It's a home away from home for me now.

Central location to Legian, Seminyak and beaches.

Having done the big hotels, swim up bars, big buffet breakfasts and associated bugs that come with resorts this size, we decided to try a pool villa. Wow, we won't be going back to resorts now. To always have a pool chair and pool, plenty of room in your villa, a kitchen and full sized fridge, just brilliant. Sun Island also has a big pool with lounges and bar if you feel like being social. The staff were lovely and attentive. And, best of all, no Bali belly!

Nice quiet villas tucked away behind a very happening street in Seminyak. Excellent getaway from the hectic of Kuta but yet has all the necessities nearby - restaurant, shops, spas and money changers along the street outside, beautiful Seminyak beach within 10-15mins walk. Only drawback is that frogs come out at night on the walkway to our villa which was not a pleasant experience for my wife.

Be Careful ......

We recently stayed at the Sun Island Boutique Villas.
Whilst being a very good location, I found the villas to be a bit dated.
The pool in the villa was really too cold and we were not able to use.
It was very disappointing to be told one morning ( at reception) that I had a bit of make-up on the towels and I would be charged as I was advised the stain did not come out.
I complained and said the towels were old and grey and I would not pay that amount.
The charge was then reduced. I was given a written notice and asked to sign. We were given the towels to take back to our room but the cleaner took again a few days later.
Upon checkout the towels could not be found and I was not charged but it was a very nasty experience and one I have never encountered before at any other resort !!
We will not stay here again.

The Villa is beautiful and good location for lot of restaurant, shop and massage shop nearby. The breakfast is very nice and bring over to Villa.
However, there are many mosquito and you must frequently close all the door and window.
Besides that, we are stay in 2 bedroom villa. 1 of the room is upstair. the toilet need to flush long time (low pressure water) and the water of the bathroom always stack and need long time for the water run out.
Overall is great!!

Had a great time here with family, 3 generations, with both young & teenage kids. Staff are great, food onsite is good, easy walking access to restaurants & shops (right on your doorstep), taxis are cheap. Hotel is a series of villas, so both indoor & outdoor living space, some with own plunge pools. There is a large pool area and good room service or eat poolside. Friday nights has Balinese dance & BBQ.

Close to Bintang, right on Jalan Raya...2 blocks from the 'beach'.

Far enough away from the street for serenity, the private pool villas are an incredible balm after the exciting, but exhausting, Legian shopping safari and the obligatory 45 minute drive to move 5 kms.

Thank you to Budi, Gethey and all of the staff for making this such a pleasant experience.

Outstanding villas. We had a villa with plunge pool and it was amazing. Great service and attention to detail. Friendly and helpful staff, they were great at suggesting and organising activities and a driver when required.
A few days we were there there were only a few guests, so breakfast wasn't a buffet as they didn't want to waste food but let you order whatever you liked and it was cooked fresh to order.

Nice villa retreat in a convenient area

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and welcoming. Our villa was nice with dipping pool to cool down in. Not big enough to swim in but we just used the main pool outside our villa to swim.
A few mosquitos but the room had mosquito spray, inscents and my favourite of all, mosquito cream.
The toiletries needed the labels refreshing as we could barely read them. Due to the colour of the floor and furniture, it was easy to see any dirt. generally very clean, but we noticed dust in the wardrobes that need cleaning as the cleaners seem to neglect these areas. Other than that, its a great place. We used the spa facilities and enjoyed a really really good balinese massage for a reasonable price. There are other massage places nearby for much cheaper but the facilities are not as nice as the hotel spa. Supermarket,post office and currency exchange within 3 minutes walk. Stayed here for 3 nights and was hoping for something extra as it was our wedding anniversary. maybe free villa upgrade or something else. Our villa was a good size anyway. I think I just wanted a bigger pool in the villa.

Nice place

A nice and quiet place. The staff are really helpful. The villa we stayed in was clean and well furnished, nothing we could have needed was missing. Shops, restaurants, mini markets and money changers are all nearby and the staff are always happy to help with calling a blue bird taxi for you if you are not feeling like walking.

The moment we arrived in Bali, we were greeted by our driver Katut. The whole staff were very helpful and made our experience easier. The villa was perfect. It is easy to relax all day in the room. The private pool was great relief from the humidity. The spa was perfect for a massage. The resort is in a good spot in Seminyak, close to the beach and markets. Must stay.

An incredible stay with exceptional service!

If you are tossing up between this villa and other villas, my partner and I would definitely recommend staying at Sun Island Boutique Villas. Commendations are to be given to ALL the staff who work at the resort; their service always at the highest standard, going above and beyond to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

The villa was exceptionally safe, with security guards out front and all doors inside your villa available to be locked with keys. Kuta beach is only a short 10 minute walk, longer if you decide to look at some of the shops on the way though! :). On the same street you can find a legitimate money exchange (BMC) recommended by concierge, a pharmacy and a large Bintang supermarket. Concierge always gave us great advice on things to do and where to visit (i would recommend the Alam white water rafting experience that can be booked through concierge).

All up we recommend this Villa and give it a rating of 5/5 for every

Great private villas, location not so bad

We had a fantastic stay at Sun Island Villas. The staff were always friendly and willing to assist with planning any day trips. We loved our room, with our own private pool (small pool but does the job after a bit of sunbaking). Breakfast is very basic, however given the café choices in Seminyak this wasn't a problem. Location is not bad, but it is a bit of a walk from Seminyak Square - only a 2-3$ cab ride though.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

An oasis that's close to everything you need!\n

Our whole experience was positive from the first welcome we received upon arrival to our departure 7 days later. The staff are friendly, courteous, helpful and gracious...always willing to assist. The grounds are delightful, the villa had everything we could possibly need and was kept impeccably clean. We enjoyed the seclusion of our own villa and pool, but also enjoyed the company of staff and other guests during breakfast in the communal area. On several occasions we also appreciated afternoon tea that was available to guests.

Great location, yet quiet enough. The private plunge pool was a tad small and the waterfall feature was small too. But the room was great and the open concept toilet made living there was spacious. The in room breakfast was amazing too. Great service too!

In arriving at the hotel & commencing our check in we were served cold drinks & towels. The check in staff were very informative in giving you tips on what to be aware of. ie be wary of particular money exchange companies & only use Blue Bird Taxis we were lucky enough to be upgraded for 1 night into the Deluxe Pool Villa. felt like royalty, very intimate, making it a great start to the holiday. The room, garden & pool were all very clean &
great condition unfortunately the next day we were quickly hurried out of the Deluxe Villa & placed into a Pool Villa 1, which was directly behind reception.
Pool Villa was still great, my only criticism is that being placed directly behind reception, we felt there was limited privacy as there were high windows of the adjoining building were facing down into our pool area, there was also more noise as all staff and guest would need to walk past to get to their rooms.
If placed in Villa 1 ask to be moved further to the back of the complex.
Location was great Close to all shops and a short scooter ride to the beach Scooter Rental from a man named Wayan directly across the road was good also! $6 a day and very friendly no scams
overall the staff were very friendly. they even chased us down and handed over any items that we had left in a room and even when we left our bag at the bar across the road.
Without a doubt we would come back & stay at the Sun Island

Excellent place in a central location

Sun Island is in a central location, but you wouldn't think that when you walk inside. The Villas are private and quiet.

I stayed in a Deluxe pool villa and was pleased with the size of the villa. There was a living/dining/kitchen area that was separate to the bedroom and bathroom areas. The Villas were kept clean and were made up every day (if we requested). As well as the spacious Villa, we were treated to breakfast and afternoon tea daily.

The staff are more than happy to assist with bookings for day trips or any other requests you might have and always greet you with a huge smile.

Beautiful room with lovely private pool

The room was gorgeous and had everything we needed. It was very close to shops, but towards the southern end of Seminyak, so the really nice stores/restaurants were a 15 minute cab ride away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, though only had specific local knowledge (i.e. nothing outside of the typical tourist agenda). The air conditioning broke, but was quickly repaired!

We stayed at Sun Island in April of this year for a few nights before we went to the Viceroy in Ubud. I can't compare the two as they are on completely different levels. Sun Island was in a good location - you're free to walk down the main streets checking out the markets and head to the beach, although keep in mind this area has plenty of salesmen trying to get you into taxi's so they can take you to an office to sign you up to hotel reward schemes. what a joke. Good food, nice and quiet and very quiet when we were there - not a bad price for what you get. it's great to have your own pool

Romantic couples trip

It was amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and thoughtful! My boyfriend and I went on our first couples trip there and it was perfect. The place is so clean and everyone makes such an effort to make your stay amazing! The location is great, a short walk to Cocoon beach club, and a short taxi trip from kuta and potato head. We will definitely be back and would reccommend it to anyone!

Was Fab! Really great buffet breakfast, cooked to order. Was also in a great location and easily got taxis from the street, would have liked the tv to be at the end of the bed but thats the only thing i would say to change! Friendly staff and great layout! Very happy with Sun Island villas. :)

Great Place!

Had an amazing time here!! Couldn't ask for anything more. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Pudi was amazing. Always a pleasure to see him each morning with his smiling face!

A sanctuary not far from the fast, chaotic streets outside. Was exactly what we expected and more.

Great hotel!

The staff are fantastic, very friendly and willing to help.The location is great about 10 minute walk to double 6 beach and right in the heart of Semiyak, surrounded by restaurants and up market shops. Breakfast was a small buffet[fruit, cereal, juice, pastries etc] however you can order freshly made hot selections which is included. Great villa's, clean and comfortable
