I was visiting Rome with a friend to watch Italy v England in the Six Nations 2026. The hotel was in a perfect location for us. We also visited St Peter's square and the Vatican, both very close by. Very clean and very helpful staff - they organised the transfers to and from the airport for us.

Cosy hotel, convenient location and just next to St Joseph Minor Basilica, walking distance to Vatican as well as the Metro - Ottaviano San Pietro station. Hotel's housekeeping staff friendly and kept the room clean daily, restaurant staff friendly and helpful a cosy family atmosphere. Food delicious. Front office friendly and helpful too. Enjoyed my stay very much and will bring my family back to stay. Value for money.

I rated 4 stars because the receptionist (the older man) was very rude and does not help at all and not knowledgeable of tourist areas. Beds were like sleighs. We were given a handicap room, not requested, shower was broken, toilet was made for a giant, clean cups and glasses were not provide, coffee not replenished. Do not pay for breakfast or sideboard, food was sub par. Restaurant did not open on time ever. No place to put luggage except the floor and who knows when they were last cleaned. I do not recommend this hotel!

Highly recommend to stay in this hotel for a blessed pilgrimage, daily morning mass next door Church of Saint Joseph 'al Trionfale', have buffet breakfast included in hotel to start each day pilgrimage, walkable to Vatican City, and finished each day with dinner included in hotel. A hotel located close to the Vatican
Walls and therefore access to the museums, basilica and St Peter's Square. Well located for local metro and bus services to the centro storico, but walking distance to the Vatican, and further afield if you prefer to stroll between points of interest.

Friendly, helpful and hardworking staff in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and there are options to eat dinner too. My room was clean and well serviced, with in room AC than can be managed by the guest.

A good selection of local eateries, shops and businesses. The indoor market, Trionfale, located at Via Andrea Doria is also close by.

Good Vatican City location

The Hotel is more of a nice B/B than Hotel. It was an excellent breakfast buffet, but the dining room is not really suitable for dinner. There is no bar or café or lounge area. My room was about 5 meters from the reception area, adjacent to the lift and adjacent to a room with poor sound insulation. All in all, a noisy environment which disturbed my sleeping hours.

Two things that I didn't like: first we didn't get daily room cleanup. We had to ask 3 times for soap and clean towels. tice they came to our room at 4 pm for clean up, when we were in the room taking a a rest from walking Rome. The very VERY BAD thing is parking. They do not have parking. We rented a car to take a trip outside rome, to find out the next morning that our car was blocked in the garage. We were forced to cancel the trip and off course, wasted 240 Euros on a rental car we couldn't use. They didn't charge me the 30 Euros for the parking, but who's going to refund me for a rental car I wasn't allowed to use because they blocked me in (by some of the hotel staff or guests)?? DO NOT PARK THERE. They don't have a parking, Expedia needs to remove that from the description

The Hotel Ottaviano Augusto is fantastic. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and always willing to help. I was treated very politely and respectfully. They answered all of my questions and they gave me directions. I want to express my gratitude to Romeo and Marco for their assistance.
My room was clean and comfortable. The food at the Hotel is delicious with many options in the buffet.
The location is very good and close to many historical sites. The Vatican Museum is within 10min walking distance.

The property is off the beaten path which I enjoyed. It’s small and comfortable with a good selection for breakfast. Loved how close it was to the Vatican, the train, restaurants and shopping. The only thing that I didn’t like was the small shower.

The Hotel is situated just perfect for for a15-20 minutes walk to the Vatican. Along that roads there are a lot of restaurants, and small stores, bakeries. fast foods. It's safe to walk at night.

The breakfast was wonderful and the housekeeper was so sweet and nice and did an excellent job. The front desk assistant was wonderful and offered me a bottle of cold water and carried my luggage down. I definitely recommend this place to stay.

Overall very pleasant experience at the hotel. Friendly reception, clean room, and great location—everything within walking distance, never needed other transportation to explore.

Would’ve liked to have a small fridge in the room (there was only a mini bar fridge which was already full).

Only concern, room with 2 single beds. Not Double Bed available. But was ok. Customer service is the best. Helped us to pick us up in Civitavecchia Port. And coordinated the Transfer to the Airport. Everything smooth.

All in all I had a very nice stay and if one day I come back to Rome, I will definitely consider Ottaviano Augusto.
Good location, close to Vatican and easy to reach by public transportation.

Très bon moment passé à Rome

L'hôtel est très bien placé, accessible rapidement à tout les lieux touristiques.

Tout était parfait sauf quelques détails :
- le menage n'était pas effectué tout les jours. J'imagine que cela est dû à un oubli.
- l'isolation n'est pas très bien. On entendait notre voisin de chambre faire pipi debout et tirer la chasse d'eau. Très désagréable.

Sinon, quelques points positifs:
- lieu idéal
- métro à proximité
- hôtel propre
- les personnes à la réception sont très serviables
- le petit déjeuner est sympa, mais il pourrait être meilleur

Malgré tout, nous avons passé un très bon moment à Rome et dans l'hôtel.

Stayed in Rome 10+ times. This was by far the best

Over 10 stays in Rome in the last 10 years. The best hotel we have ever found in the city. Super friendly staff. Great customer service. Big clean and modern rooms. Comfy beds. Great breakfast. 24 hour reception. Plus we love to stay round the Vatican. Go across the street for great coffee too. We’ve finally found an exceptional hotel in Rome (it’s harder than you think!). Can’t wait to return.

What impressed me most was the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff. They would go out of their way, cheerfully, to satisfy a request. If you want to explore the vatican, this is the place to be, and I used the subway to get around which is closeby. Not the Ritz, but my single room was comfortable, and the package I bought included a free breakfast, suited to all tastes. I recommend this hotel strongly
