Overall it was a good hotel. Not very many amenities, didn’t feel like hotel but more like apartment. It was in a residential neighborhood with only 2 restaurants on the block. However it was only 10 min walk from everything which was very nice. The staff was amazing though!!! Super friendly and Marco was the best he was so nice and helpful. We had a great experience.

This hotel has air conditioning which is needed during summer. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to St Peter’s Basilica and to the metro. The staff are quite helpful and friendly. A special shout-out to Marco for his excellent work! You also get a free bottled water which was a nice touch. All in all. I was quite satisfied with this affordable hotel.

A Perfect Roman Stay – Music, Warmth, and Unbeatable Location!

We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Franklin Feel the Sound for 10 nights in April 2025, and we can honestly say it exceeded all expectations.

First and foremost, the location is outstanding — just a 5-minute walk to the Vatican Museums, 10 minutes to St. Peter’s Square, and only 7 minutes to the Ottaviano metro station, making it incredibly easy to explore all of Rome. For food lovers, you're in luck: two fantastic restaurants, Falcone and Convivial, are located just steps away at the end of the street. We dined at both and were thoroughly impressed.

The hotel itself has a cozy atmosphere and is clean without reproach. But what truly sets Franklin apart is the exceptional staff. Every team member I encountered was welcoming, professional, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Whether it was helping with directions, restaurant tips, or general city advice, they were always eager to assist.

Special thanks to Stefano and Marco, who stood out for their kindness, knowledge, and genuine hospitality — they made us feel like a valued guest from the moment we arrived.

If you're looking for a well-located, friendly, and memorable place to stay in Rome, we wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Franklin Feel the Sound. We would return in a heartbeat!

Hotel not signed apart from one projected on the ground outside. Bit difficult to find, even with Google Maps.

Room a bit disappointing as expected something as music related and furnished as one I had in Barcelona. But, had a good bed, small desk (with coffee making machine) and chair, large wardrobe with safe and decent bathroom with a shower stall, which was ok for me but, er, larger people may find it too small. All very clean with cleaners in everyday to make up bed and tidy up. Maybe a bit basic, but it ticked all the boxes for required facilities.

Has a pleasant courtyard for meals out back for breakfast if not raining. My room was on the first floor with a patio door opening onto a common area overlooking the courtyard, with tables and chairs outside each of the three first floor rear rooms. Can sit out in the evenings if you choose.

There is a modern lift for the four floors of the hotel. I've seen reviews for other hotels describing them as being 'tired' hotels, despite great photos on Expedia. Not this one. Possibly a bit basic but you are going out in Rome not staying in your room.

Receptionists very helpful sorting a faulty safe ASAP and showing me the best aircon setting as on the first night I didn’t have it. Other friendly chatting re the football & can borrow cds for the cd player/radio in the room. The two guys in the breakfast room were great and very friendly.

Absolutely no chance that this is a 4 star hotel. Paint peeling off the roof and the entire room was tired and not clean.

Breakfast was so disappointing and the staff were the rudest I have ever met.

I loved Prague but the hotel was dilapidated and the staff were dreadful. I actually complained to Jet2 whilst there.

Overall we had a good stay. It was a unique hotel - we had a mirror disco ball in the bathroom. Comfy beds, good a/c. Location was good for the Vatican. Our issue was with the service. Stefano in particular. We were quoted one price for an airport transfer and then an hour later with Stefano, we were quoted 20 euros higher and he gave us quite an attitude. I was shocked that someone in hospitality would behave this way. He should not be front facing with customers. We all got the vibe from him that he hated tourists.

The hotel is easily accessible by public transport from the main stations, but still in a more quiet area. The check in went very smoothly and the staff is very nice and welcoming, they let us leave our luggage after check out for the rest of the day. The room was very nice, clean and we were not disappointed by the disco ball in the bathroom ! Overall a great experience !

We had an great stay at the “Franklin hear the Sound” Jose’ and all the front desk crew were amazing. Would highly recommend.. King size beds we’re very comfortable and room was serviced every day.. fresh towels, coffee and complimentary water was left in our refrigerator every day. Bus one block away and short walk to town center for shopping cafes and metro!

Hidden musical Gem

A little far from the station but doable if you only have 1 bag each. There are good restaurants nearby with really reasonable prices that the staff can recommend. The theme is very musical and in our room we had snare drums as night tables. The bathroom had a second optional light that was blue and shone on a disco ball. Sadly the aux connection on the cd player/radio didn't work. Room cleaning was okay but missed essentials like more coffee or tissue in the restroom. The front desk staff was excellent giving great advice about the local area from food to markets. The breakfast you can have there was great for 5 Euro a person buffet style breakfast. Includes some meat, fruit, breads, pastries, coffee, jam, Nutella and more.

Was a little difficult to find. I'd recommend to them to post a picture of the door ornaments to make it easier for travelers.

The property is staffed by caring individuals who strive to make the guests welcome, but it falls short in terms of upkeep and amenities. We honeymooned here eight years ago and found a quite different ambiance.

The rooms are tiny and stoic. They lack a feeling of being comfortable after a day of touring, etc. there's no comfortable area in check in or the room to relax.

Also, we were surprised that there was none of the typical hotel amenities like shampoo, conditioner etc. that one expects in their room. Formerly, they had lovely displays of same.

Transportation is a bit of a walk to the nearest metro, Octaviano station. The neighborhood is lovely and authentic, but bit of a stretch to catch a taxi. The staff is happy to call one of asked, but don't expect the accessibility on the street.

The staff was very polite at all times. They indicated they are trying to upkeep after many ownership turnovers.

We did leave earlier than expected due to family emergency and left several days room cost on the table due to non refundable proviso through Expedia. This is very unfortunate.

Staff are very courteous, helpful and always available when you need them. Renato (morning shift) and Jose (evening shift) were excellent. They even took care of our luggage while we were touring the Vatican.

On arrival we were a few hours early, very nice that we were told our room was ready as we were expecting to have to leave our cases and come back. All staff very pleasant and helpful. The room was beautifully clean and kept that way each day. Breakfast was a buffet style affair, very good choices and again staff couldn't do enough. My only fault which is small we were on floor 2, the step at the top could do with better markings as twice I missed it and once my hubby did and no we don't drink lol would definitely stay again if we went to Rome. Vatican City is 15/20 minutes walk away and from there other sights are within walking distance.

Good location away from big tourist spots. Instructions on how to get there from the metro were easy to follow. Only thing was you need to leave your key with reception on leaving the hotel. I would prefer taking it with me as I was given someone else's keys until I double checked it was mine - oops! Otherwise good, affordable and great options to eat.

On holiday with my 2 children in April. Hotel room was very comfortable for the 3 of us. It is about 10mins walk from the Vatican and within walking distance of other tourist attractions. Metro station is also close by for more distant tourist attractions such as the Colosseum. All in all it was a very pleasurable trip. If I am ever back in Roma will definitely stay at this hotel.

We had the drop down bed in use in our room so it made it less roomy than it really is but it worked well.

Great hotel for music Lovers!!

This hotel was great it was different. When you walk in they are playing music, the atmosphere is completely welcoming. If you love music then you will truly enjoy this hotel. The nightstands are snare drums. There is a huge stereo that has surround sound and plays throughout the room and in the bathroom. The bathroom has a disco light, for a nice summer night you can go sit out on the balcony. It is great I truly enjoyed my stay. Also it is walking distance from the Vatican.

I was pleasantly surprised at not only how eccentric the staff was but the friendliness of the front desk staff. They answered all of my questions and even helped point us in the direction of the local amenities when we needed them. This hotel should came with the subtitle \"the Bruno Mars tribute Hotel\". It was great and I hope that I return in the future. The best part of the hotel though was the garden patio out back. Very peaceful.

We had a lovely stay, the room was a little smaller than we expected but it was very clean and the staff were very welcoming. They have a very nice little garden to sit in of an evening and it is close to the metro about ten minutes walk.

Really enjoyed our time in Rome and the hotel was an excellent base.

Would recommend the hotel to those on a budget as it was really nice but a little basic.

The music was great and the disco ball in the bathroom was fun.

This hotel is very hard to find. Need a bigger sign in front. Also you have to pay 20 euros per day to use their parking lot. No parking in front of building to be found.. Please if you book ask them about parking and location even so it is about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican. Not showing price of parking either in their ad of Hotel franklin.

Room was clean comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good, hardboiled eggs, sausages, cheeses, pastry, cereals, coffee, cappuccino, juices,cold cuts, fruit, etc.

Staff were all very helpful. Guests had to leave the hotel key at the front desk whenever leaving the hotel which was a bit annoying.

Nice quite hotel close to everything

Was a brilliant stay! The hotel was only 10min from the Vatican City but could easily walk everywhere! Restaurants around the area were amazing! The hotel staff were always there to help with any issues or questions, room was lovely and big and comfy bed! The sound system was brilliant a real bonus!

Great Service & Great Staff; Lovely sound of Rome

My family had all gone on a trip to Rome from Kuwait/Portugal, and the Da cruz family enjoyed our stay, and it was lovely thanks to the great service of Danielle, Titsiana and Regus and Pablo and even the room cleaning crew of Maria and others as well..sorry about the spelling mistake in your names :)
All was good and the service and customer service is super nice and cordial and understanding and great.
Keep up the great service and we will come back soon with my family and enjoy Rome again in the future.

Budget stay only

Walls are thin. Expect to hear everything that happens around you and roads if you are street side. Staff is hit and miss, morning girl was really nice but guy in afternoon was not that great.

Close to Vatican

Nice hotel with great breakfast. Only negative was size of room if going with 4 people. Lacks space for storing suitcase and storing additional items. Beds are clean, international TV stations and great A/C! Staff was wonderful and willing to assist and answer any questions!!

They had a very noisy bathroom renovation under our room during the day. Could not sleep or watch TV. I complained and they gave us all our 3 breakfast on the house. That was nice.

The hotel close to Vatican

The hotel was rated very high that is why I booked it. The hotel close to Vatican but area itself is not the best one.
The rooms are specious and nice, good and big bed , in general rooms are much bigger than in many other hotels. No personal touch like shampoo and body lotion, it is not really expensive stuff but shows how the guests are looked after.

Great ambiance for musicians and music fans

We needed to stay in walking distance to the Vatican City and quick access to the Metro. The location was ideal for both. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was delicious and the coffee was a great way to start our day.

Lovely Gem in a big city

Charming little Hotel in a quiet part of town.
10 minutes walk to the Vatican and to the meeting point of all Vatican tours. The Hotel is clean and modern with a charming musical touch in many different ways. From the blue light and disco ball in the bathrooms to the drum night tables and the B&L stereos in the rooms.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. Everyone at the front desk, the breakfast staff and housekeeping were super friendly and informative.
The breakfast buffet is simple but very good with selections of sweet and savory treats.
The wifi went out twice, but once rebooted, it worked perfectly well in the rooms and lobby.

And lastly, some really good restaurants for dinner within a 2 block radius.
