The included buffet breakfast in the rooftop terrace was amazing! We especially loved the beet and yogurt salad (just try it!) and the carrot, cabbage and dill salad. Not normally something we'd eat for breakfast but the food and experience was spectacular!! The rooms had a beautiful Turkish feel and look. We enjoyed our cozy room and bed and the service throughout was fantastic 😀

We had a good stay at Saruhan, the breakfast and view from terrace were both amazing. The only drawback is that we were given a below ground floor room, and it was filled with ants once we were settled in and ate some snack/wine.. the ants would gather around our cups and wine bottle and clothes and that was very annoying. It would be nice if were given a room on the upper floors instead as there is a large swing in the bottom floor, just for us in our balcony/garden area but we never used it since there is no privacy there.

Very close to the blue mosque area in the heart of sultanahmet. Many affordable diners in the area. There is a nice park in front of the hotel. The staff are excellent and very friendly and helpful. Coffee is available until 11 pm. The staff lady in the kitchen is super sweet and helpful. Rooms are very clean. The hotel face may need a touch up.

Don’t let this little older hotel put you off, it is a gem. The rooms, though older, are spacious and spotless. The staff were amazing the whole stay. You can beat the breakfast, the woman that puts it out works very hard to ensure all leave full. A bonus is the coffee and tea they provide in the breakfast room anytime of day. Would definitely stay there again.

Saruhan is a very beautiful and quirky little hotel, with lovely traditional Turkish decor.
The room however was very stuffy when I first entered and I had to open a window. There was no remote for the air conditioning unit and also none of the tv channels worked so that was redundant. The bed was quite creaky, slightly hard and for some reason the beautiful runner blanket disappeared after the room was serviced the first day. Plus the walls are definitely not soundproof as I heard a woman sneezing and coughing all night one of the nights! So comfort wise not amazing, but it didn't ruin the experience - it's clean and good value for money. The location is lovely as it is quiet but can be a bit daunting finding it at night if you are arriving late.
The staff are extremely welcoming and extra kudos must go to the lady singly serving all the delicious traditional breakfast on the balcony, of which the variety was superb. The view from the breakfast terrace is wonderful as well.

Enjoyed my stay. Hotel is in a quieter area of sultanamet. 12-15 mins walk to tram way up a hill and about the same to Blue Mosque, hippodrome etc. Right across from park that Turkish families enjoy. Great breakfast on rooftop terrace with view of the sea (though also noise of traffic up there). Free coffee and tea all day. Large room with good aircon and great wifi. Would stay again for sure here.

You must visit this hotel when in Istanbul. It has a great location, the breakfast is so varied and included in the price and the views from the terrace are beautiful. The receptionists are really helpful, kind and nice to speak to. They endured our stay was perfect. The lady that prepares breakfast is lovely too she will make you aware of all the breakfast options she makes and will always ask if you'd like an omelette. The hotel has all comfort amenities like lift, large bedrooms, large bathroom, cleaning everyday, terrace overlook the sea, even my bed had sea view, staff were very helpful, cooperative, hotel location is just minutes away walking from main istanbul attractions like blue mosque, ayasofya, and many others, just only one thing was bit annoying is the cafe in front of the hotel held parties for wedding or other occasions in some weekends not always, and it last untill 12 am only, which is bit noisy, other than that all perfect, offcourse all these matches the affordable cost of the hotel night.

Checked in at 2:30am without any problems, and was shown to my room (had booked a room for the previous day so I would be able to check on straight away).

Very nice room with lots of space, fridge, A/C, great wifi and lots of hot water in the shower. Great view of the park across the street which was a bonus, and a small balcony as well.

Breakfast each morning on the terrace was great, and was the reason I chose to book at this hotel over others (for the view!). The ladies working there (who also do housekeeping) are so friendly and welcoming, with breakfast bought to the table each morning. Although it was the same breakfast each day (omelette, bread with spreads, ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber, olives), it was delicious! Variety of tea, juices and Nescafé also available.

Walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Egyptian Spice Bazaar, and a nice walk to Galata Tower and Istiklal Street as well.

absolutely wonderful! from staff to breakfast on gorgeous terrace to location...everything was perfect! rooms are smallish but it's a boutique hotel not 5 star. great park and restaurant across alley. also a park one block away with cafe next to it. 15 minute walk to grand bazaar in one direction and 10 minutes to Blue Mosque in other. We stayed here 5 nights...every breakfast had different items (along with some same)...delicious.

Although this is a basic hotel with basic facilities, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

5 of my family stayed here in the family room on the basement floor. The lobby area is decorated in traditional Turkish, and adds to your vacation experience. My family and I enjoyed spending a moment viewing the items in the lobby area. All the ceilings are decorated in a nice wood design which adds to the uniqueness of this place.
The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. They offered a good selection of traditional Turkish breakfast foods on the buffet. Mr. Ahmet at reception was very nice and helpful with our needs, the other man at reception was also (can't remember his name). All the staff were nice. If you want a nice, affordable place to stay while enjoying Istanbul, I highly recommend Saruhan. No complaints here!

The Staff of Saruhan is very good, very polite & Hospitable. The good thing about this Hotel is Balcony one may call it smoker's paradise. There is a coffee Machin in the lobby dispensing free coffee entire day. It's at a walking distance from Sultanahmet area. The room has very minimum furniture. Just wondering why don't they add some chairs etc. Breakfast was good but needs improvement, especially if guests are staying for a longer period then eating same breakfast each day is quite boring. Thier pick up service from the airport is little pricey, but all the hotels charge the same, though I must say the PickUp & drop facility is very efficient & reliable. Saruhan is a good place to stay if one considers the price they offer.

This nice, clean and decently furnished hotel is 10 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque / Hagia Sophia area in a residential neighborhood. Excellent breakfast at the hotel, and nice restaurants close by. I was most impressed by the staff, who were very friendly and accommodating. If I return to Istanbul, would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel is a deal. Not too expensive, simple but comfortable rooms (and the the most beautiful breakfast room with ocean views) and excellent service. I think there are 2 family rooms. One is a little tight, but the room has been updated recently and it's close to the breakfast room. The second is much larger, but not quite as nice and you have to go outside to get to it, but not too far.

A wonderful surprise

Hotel is located in a superb district. Close to numerous local restaurants, multiple full sized supermarkets, children's playground and easy walking distance to Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya & Topkapi Palace. The hotel is exceptionally clean and linen is great. We had the family room and its size was excellent. The matrasses are old and saggy, and the double bed creaks terribly so we had sore backs after a few days. The bunks are home made. Kids need to be older to handle these as the railing is too high so smaller children would not be prevented from falling through it. We travelled with 4, 3 & 8 weeks old. The breakfast is the best we have had in Turkey and the roof terrace was brilliant. The bathroom was small but very functional and lots of hot water. AC worked well. The bar fridge did not work. Afternoon reception staff was not helpful or knowledgeable at all which was disappointing. Would stay again due to cleanliness, breakfast and location.

Provided us with two separate bedrooms next to each other when we had booked 1 bedroom for 4. This was fantastic as we were on a budget and getting such comfort for the same price was a pleasant surprise. Adjoining balconies made for some great evenings.

We stayed at Saruhan Hotel for 3 nights on February. Hotel staff was very friendly, while check-in we got a city map with detailed explanation about main places to visit. Hotel located near Bosphorus in quiet place. To main tourists attractions (Bluer Mosque, Aya Sofia Mosque, Topkapi Palace) around 10-15 minutes walk. Our room with seaview was clean, spacious and has a great condition. The bathroom with shower also was clean, spacious and has great condition. Room was cleaned every day.

Originally I booked this hotel for 10 nights but soon I realized it does not worth it so I spend 4 nights and decided to check out. This is what I experienced 1) The room smells bad, 2) The bulbs from the ceiling lights were fused or not working, 3) The internet connection was very slow and 4) which is very important the front office stuff were very rude and unprofessional. Based on my personal experience I would never recommend this hotel to anyone specially with the family.

We stayed in a family room and it was a good size and true to pictures. Only problem was a squeaky bed. We told them the next morning and they semi-fixed it right away. Less squeaky but still some noise. The room was clean. Located near hippodrome and blue mosque and kumkapi area(many fish restaurants are there). It was on the small alley, so it might be hard to find. We didn't have a problem because we requested the pick up service. The neighborhood didn't feel dangerous. Bathroom was big for turkish standard. Coffee machine available in the lobby for free. Breakfast buffet had a great selection. You could order fresh fruit juice for a small fee. Hot shower available all the time. Heating is from a radiator near windows. It didn't make the room very warm but tolerable. Great housekeeping service.

Only stayed one night but good value clean hotel near to lots of main attractions 10-15 min walk to grand bazaar and train. Friendly helpful staff and lovely terrace for breakfast

great hotel

It's a wonderful hotel, well taken care of. It's in Sultanamet, the best neighborhood to be in, in Istanbul, Turkey. BUT the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the center (and tram) where it's all happening. For us, that's where we like to be, near, but not in the center. The only drawback is a football/soccer field across the street where they play all day and into the night. Rooming in the back rooms would cut off a lot of that noise. Great breakfast spread every day.

Stayed in Istanbul for 4 nights at Saruhan Hotel. Located about a 15 minute walk from the sights of Sultanahmet and close to plenty of small shops. Staff were happy to assist with all arrangements, transfers, suggestions etc. very helpful via email prior to arrival and accommodated changing room requirements. Great breakfast on beautiful terrace and we also had a room with a small balcony.

Saruhan Hotel, Istanbul

This is a lovely little hotel in Istanbul, on a side street between residential areas, but fifteen minutes walk away from main tourist areas and the tram station.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped organise transport to and from the airport. I left something behind in the hotel and they were very good about getting it posted to me.

It's not the sort of place for people who want to spend a lot of time in a hotel, as facilities are pretty basic. But if you want somewhere clean, comfortable and friendly, this is an excellent choice.

令人驚豔的小旅館

從路面電走到飯店的市區道路會走到懷疑人生，傳統的歐洲石塊路加上是下坡，挑戰肌耐力。
老房子改造的小旅館，有電梯，看的出來有用心維持。房內設備簡單但乾淨，還有小陽台。頂樓視野很棒很悠閒，露台早餐種類多且好吃。
