Great location for the sea and blue masjid.
Hotel satisfactory as we got a refurbished room.
The seagulls were a nightmare non stop noise but not the fault of the hotel.
Best to book your own transfer from the airport we were charged double by the hotel, not happy.

Nice place to stay in Istanbul. It’s located in nice area where you can even walk to the center of the city. Very friendly and helpful staff thanks to them, excellent delicious breakfast. Room was perfect and very comfortable. The only things was that main door is so noisy you will be able to hear it in your room when it shouts down.

This was listed as a 2-bedroom but we were pleasntly surprised that it had another small room ! The whole apartment was given to us - Had a working kitchen with Microwave and hotplate and fridge. Very clean and safe - good for a family.
The area is walking distance to the blue mosque and grand bazaar - lots of nice eating places all around. Situated in an old ( but very clean ) and quaint neighbourhood.
The host / Manager was very very helpful and always response - reception was available 24 hours.

The staff were helpful but the hotel conditions were really poor the next room guess was smoking and all corridor was smelling cigarette smell. The hotel offers no dining area or breakfast. Location is the only good thing.

This hotel wasn’t what I expected. The condition left much to be desired. I didn’t speak with the hotel manager and he was able to move me to another property. This made me happy. The manager really did try and make me feel comfortable.

Difficult to locate

The property is located at one of the back lanes down the slope which is very difficult to find. The sign of the apartment is also very small. Those with heavy luggage will find it very difficult to walk through various undulating slopes in order to get to the venue. However, one compliment is that the apartment motel staffs are all very helpful, well-mannered and friendly. After asking one of the locals to help me to call the motel, the person on duty came to meet me at certain meeting point and bring me to the motel. Going to the airport is not a problem as the motel does make transport arrangement at a reasonable fees.

Great Family Apartment

Really great apartment. We stayed in the 3 Bedrooms Family Corner Apartment for week. This is actually in a separate build a few minutes walk from the main hotel (right next to the Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque). The apartment has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and one twin), living area (with a sofa bed), kitchen and separate WC and bathroom. Check in was quick and easy and the staff very helpful. The apartment is in a very quiet and peaceful location and feels bright and airy. Felt like a home from home. Fast Wifi, well equipped (iron, washing machine, oven, microwave) plus a cleaner came every day. Shops and good restaurants very close to the front door and the Hippodrome is only 5-10 minutes away (albeit up a steep hill). Only slight criticism being the fact that the beds were hard. Other than that everything was perfect for a family home from home. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was walking distance. Clean beds n towels,hot shower n facilities to warm up food. With fridge.
The experience was good as we only needed it for sleeping and having a hot shower. Good restaurants and shops nearby n all the visiting sites are nearby too.

Nice stay

Stayed with my family for 6 nights. A peaceful area surrounded by families. Sultanahmet is within 5 min walk but needs climbing up. All types of restaurants and shops are nearby. Mustafa and hif family (business owner) were very helpful and welcoming.

Great simple and inexpensive hotel

We were a bit worried over a very late arrival in Istanbul but were happy to find out that even in such a small hotel there was someone at the desk 24/7. We were shown our room, helped with our bags and gratefully fell into bed. The next morning we had a delicious Turkish breakfast, got our laundry done at a very reasonable charge and went ouyt to explore. We were only a block from Little Aya Sofia which became a wonderful landmark through the winding streets of Sultanahmet during our three day stay. Mustafa and Fahim were always available to help us arrange anything we wanted help with and were friendly and welcoming. My mother and I greatly enjoyed our stay there.

This is small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. They made a very nice breakfast and omelet for me. I have stayed here before. All the ancient historical sites are in walking distance. If you have difficulty walking, this hotel has some very narrow stairs, ask for ground floor room.

Overall good for the price

Nice neighbourhood but can be difficult to find. Very near to top attractions including the Blue mosque. Plenty of cheap but good restaurants nearby. Welcoming host and breakfast was good. Beware no lifts.

Old but very charming and premium location. The staff was courteous, pleasant, friendly and downright charming. The night concierge was helpful and incredibly pleasant. Not only I would recommend it to all my friends, I definitely would go back there again. I got everything I was hoping for, everything I paid for and all of it with a smile.

The nicest people in all of Istanbul !

Mustafa and Faheem are two of the best hospitality professionals we have encountered ever. They took extremely good care of us throughout the stay. The breakfast was delicious (with yummy made to order eggs), the rooms clean, hot water through the day in a nice quiet suburb - what more can you ask for ? Their dedication to the service of their guests was clearly evident.

Special mention has to be made of Faheem here. We never seemed to be interacting with a hotel staff - without exaggeration, Faheem treated us like family. His patient explanation of the best places to see alongwith their history, his never ending supply of Turkish Cay or just sitting in the backyard smoking cigarettes chatting about life in general ; Faheem added that special touch to our Turkey trip (I must have smoked about 25 Liras worth of his cigarettes but he didn't seem to mind ! :) ). In fact, on occasions when he was off duty, Faheem would even spend the better part of the day taking us to places in and around Istanbul - like a friend would !

I would definitely recommend Emirhan Inn to anyone willing to take my opinion. Just perfect !!! We left Istanbul not just with great memories but with new friends as well ! Thanks once again for everything ! :)

We had a good time. Our idea was to be next to the mosuqe area and this was a good aparment. Breakfast was the usual, cheese, bread, tea, coffee, olives, juices etc. The stafff was very very helpful. both faheem and Mustafa. The stairs are narrow and so there was difficulty to take bags upstairs, but the staff helped. The internet was great. The walk to the mosque was a few minutes and one could find shops nearby to buy bottled water, yogurt, fruits at a reasonable price. If you are looking for fancy place, this is not it. We wanted to be in the old Istanbul area close to the blue mosuqe so my kids and I could walk across. The train station and metro are a 5-7 minutes walk. neighborhood is safe.

Spacious, well-priced apartment with kind staff

These apartments have a great location, walking distance from all the main sites in Sultanahmet, like the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, and Topkapi Palace. There are many good restaurants, tourist shops and even a family grocery and a farmer's market nearby. Our apartment had AC, two TVs, a full kitchen and enough beds to sleep 6 people comfortably. The facility was clean, charmingly decorated, and safe. Guests can use a private safe for each room, and there are cameras and a buzzer system, as well as constant staff presence, if security is your concern. The staff was helpful, warm, generous and knowledgeable. They were happy to arrange for transport to the airport, if you wanted it. The breakfasts were excellent. their \"continental breakfast\" included far more than the expected: 3 kinds of cheese, 2 types of olives, deli meat, cucumber, tomatoes, omelette, two types of bread with marmalade, hazelnut chocolate spread, honey and butter, juice, coffee and tea. There is also plenty of bandwidth in the hotel's a WiFi.

Cozy B&B with very friendly staff

This is a minimalist B&B with very friendly and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was super small but had its own bath and shower. Hot water worked well (it's there, and it's well regulated). We were advised not to drink the tap water, but it's easy to get bottled water from near by stores (1-2 minutes away). If you have a lot of luggage (we had four pieces) it can get crammed but is still manageable. Heating works fine in winter (both wall units and an AC with heating were in the room). There was a bit of smell of new wood veneer in the lobby, but not in the rooms. Breakfast is simple (cheese, eggs, olives, processed meeting, plus some continental preserves) and is good but does get a bit old after 2-3 days. Overall, it's a place that I could go to again, if for no other reason than for the support and courtesy of the staff running the place.

Convenient stay to see Sultanahmet

Needed a place to spend the night as a family of four. We booked a two bedroom and were given a suite with three bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a newly remodeled bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed quiet, comfortable rooms, hot water for showers and a good Turkish breakfast. We'd definitely stay there again.

Stay away...

We stayed there for 13 days and we had rent a double room with balkony. At the time of our arrival we asked sinan if it was ok that we checked out at 7 pm on our last day instead of 11 am and he said that it wouldnt be a problem and one day before our check out i talked to him again and he said that it was ok regarding to that we check out at 7 pm.
On our last day the manager came at noon and told us that we have one hour to check out and i told him that we had an agreement and he said NO and told us that we had to get out because he had rentet the apt. out !!!!!!!!!!!
I even told him that we will pay him an extra day but he just wanted us to get out ! Thats just not good because when you make a deal then you stick to it. I will not recomment this place to anyone at all...And about the apt its not complete.. The kitchen stuff is not complete, its cold in there, the wifi is very weak, the cleaning is very poor.. I noticed that the cleaning lady is their aunt and when she comes and clean the bathroom she use the towel that we had used , to clean thd toilet. And then she takes it down and wash it .... I recommend you to stay away from emmirhan inn... So discusting !!

The looks are quite disappointing , no bed sheets on the bed when we arrived , there was construction stuff and tools beside the door of our room , we were told they would call us a cab but at departure time , they told us to get one on the street ! The cheapest room was a bit small, but perfectly fine for several nights. One of the cleanest hotel rooms I've seen. The staff are very helpful and nice. The hotel is within a walking distance from Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque and the other attractions in the old city.

We were stopping over in istanbul from chicago for two days before heading further east. After failing to find a package we liked over the internet we last-minute-booked a room the day we flew. Having just stayed in a $400 five star hotel we knew this was going to be only a two star deal. But we were certainly in for a treat. Excellent service from staff. CLEAN room. Spotless bathroom. Fantastic breakfast. Only suggestion is to read a map so u know what to tell the taxi drivers.

Mustafa was very friendly and the breakfast servers were great. Room was clean and comfortable - can be a little loud at night with neighborhood activity. Location is great for access to Sultanahmet sights, other than being at the bottom of the hill.

Lovely apartment close to the Blue Mosque

Me and my family visited Istanbul for a week and we fell in love with the place. We are already planning our next trip! The people are so friendly and welcoming and the food is just amazing! Our apartment was five minutes away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and only ten minutes away from TopKapi palace - I would recommend visiting all these places. There is lots to do in this area and you can visit the same places each day, which we did, and still not get bored of the view. All in all, it was a perfect holiday!

Great location, but tough to find

Though it's in the heart of a super touristy region, it has a nice \"off the beaten track\" feel. They definitely need to offer a detailed description of how to find it, though. The Metro from the airport dropped me off only a half-dozen blocks away but I still needed considerable help from a local to find it. My room was half-below ground floor, which wasn't exactly charming. But it was nice enough, had a good shower, and the hosts were great.

The hotel is located in a small street, it is a bit hard to find it out. It is a small hotel operated by family. The family apartment is big enough for 5 ppl, which is fairly new. There is 1 store closer to hotel, and you can find out many restaurants on the way to hotel.

Nice little hotel close to tourist attractions

It is a very straightforward and nice little hotel. Staff is friendly, and the location is really great. For the price, I was very happy with the room. We stayed for 11 nights, and we switched rooms half way. The second room was very bright and cheery. While there was nothing particularly wrong with the first room, the second room was great!

We took the apartment, great location, nice views, and quiet space. There was a large terrace with views, the ocean view was great. Heating and AC, kitchen was nice to have. Washing machine was a great extra too. All and all a great place and easy to get in an out of. Would do it again.

A disappointing experience

We booked 10 nights and wished we had done a bit more research before booking. On arrival we were asked to pay for the stay upfront without even having seen the room, which was an ominous sign. After checking in, we were shown to the 2 bed apartment, which to our surprise was a few streets from the reception in a dinghy side street, with rubbish strewn around and cats squalling through the night. Enough said.
The apartment was abysmally decorated and depressing to stay in. With the noise keeping us up we asked for a change of room. After initially being told there was no alternative we were moved for the third night onwards to the same building as the reception. It was an improvement. Laminate floors and cheap looking rugs not the wooden floors/Turkish carpets we had been promised in the description. Washing machine is a bonus but required some translation of Turkish to operate. Free wifi and under 10 mins from the main sites in SultanAhmet main plus poinst of this hotel. Rooms seemed to be cleaned every other day. They were slightly stingy on providing enough toilet paper. Breakfast was extra but we never tried it.
Overall a bit disappointing.

It was a very pleasant stay. Very roomy, walking distance to Blue Mosque, Aya sophia and Topkapi even for a 73 year old 9weeks post op knee. Yes it pushed me a bit but still enjoyed it. Staff gave helpful hints and answered all our questions. We liked the space and price.

Hotel is very nice and in the heart of the Old city of Istanbul. Everything is very close to it ( Blue Mosque, Haigha Sophia, Grand Bazar etc. ) There is no elevetar in the building and for the hot water you will have to wait for a second. Other than that, the place is absolutely great.

They should change their description. It is not actually an apartment you are paying for, just a little room. Maybe I just got the smallest room they had... I have no idea. You cannot use the kitchen or the phone. The street is busy, so expect some noise.

Good Value and Easy Walk to Blue Mosque

The 'sale' price we booked gave us pretty good value for Sultanhamet.
- Friendly staff were alert and waiting our arrival. They quickly whisked our luggage out of taxi and to our ground floor double room.
- Clean, medium size room with desk, wardrobe closet and small fridge and water kettle (not any excess room with all that)
- No excess space in bathroom either, but shower doors kept water on the correct side and plumbing was fully functional
- AC was fully needed this time of year and the AC did its job. However, it didn't seem to sense when the room was at the target temp and we periodically had to turn it off or on.

Common areas we hoped would be nice for lounging were not inviting. Breakfast on the patio was nice when the weather was nice.

Breakfast included in rate was an egg, fried or 'omelette', Turkish coffee or tea, soft cheese assortment and bread. Convenient but nothing to look forward to

Location is on the quieter side of the hill with the Blue Mosque and tram line a 10 minute steep, but interesting, walk uphill (and of course a quick and easy 5 minute jaunt back). The other side of the peninsula has much more commercial development and we preferred the neighborhood feel around Emirhan

Stayed from 18 till 22 july 2013. Very near blue mosque and other tourist attraction. Only 10 mins walk. Very convenient. Staff very friendly. Karim most helpful. Neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. Lots of small restaurant and not very expensive. Definitely recommendable.

Great base from which to enjoy Istanbul

This was a great little place so close to all the places you go to visit Istanbul for. We walked to the blue mosque in less than 10 minutes, and from there it was only a short walk to all the other sites too. The trams were close by as well, and near the apartments you have plenty of little shops to buy any provisions you need. The staff were really helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you so much Mustafa and Abdul Karim. We arranged through Mustafa for transfers to and from the airport as we had 3 kids and luggage. The apartment was great, we were on the top floor of the annexe, and had a view of the bosphorus from our bed. The apartment even had a balcony. Two bedrooms each had a separate AC as did the kitchenette/lounge/diner. We would love to stay at the Emirhan again if we visit Istanbul again. It was like a home away from home.

Walking distance to many major historical sites.

Very clean. The room we were in (106) had a quiet A/C and a modern sparkling bathroom (no shelf areas to set anything), with windows looking into the street and curtains that could be drawn to block the noise and the light in the morning if desired. Entry to that room required going through the owner's kitchen, out a locked door into an open patio, through a locked door into an entryway/utility room, and up two flights of steps without handrails to the hallway with the entrance to the room. It was a bit quaint and would be difficult for someone who is unsteady or has difficulty climbing, but otherwise it was not a problem. Our queen size bed came with two pillows, a bottom sheet with a course weave, and a light cotton blanket. When we asked for a top sheet, we were told that no hotels in Turkey provide a top sheet, only a blanket, and that may have been true for non-western-style hotels. When we looked a bit dismayed, we were given a top sheet. The staff was very helpful. We would stay there again and would ask for the same room. Because all of the rooms seemed to be very different, we cannot vouch for the quality of the other rooms. This was our first trip to Turkey, spending two weeks sailing out of Fethiye and three days in Istanbul. We enjoyed everything we experienced in Turkey. The Turkish people were wonderful and are looking forward to a return trip...

Friendly, clean, well located - would recommend!

We had a brilliant stay here - the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and gave us really good advice on where to go for dinner and on nice walks and things to see, we felt really welcome the whole time. The room and bathroom (we had an ensuite) were really clean and comfortable, the bins were emptied every day and we had fresh towels after a couple of days. The hotel's in a really good location, it's a five/ten minute walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia, and we felt safe coming back at night (we're two young women) as it's just off a road which is busy with restaurants and shops that are open quite late, though I wouldn't recommend exploring the streets the other side of the hotel as they didn't seem particularly safe (and I don't think there's anything to see there anyway). The hotel itself is really secure. I would definitely recommend it!

Disgusting mould, damp and dirty. DO NOT STAY HERE

I read all of the reviews and it seemed a good budget choice. I was so wrong! We turned up and he had let our room out to someone else and put us in an underground flat which was dirty, mouldy and paint peeling everywhere. He did this because we paid in advance so harder to walk out. The second night we needed to change rooms (despite booking a double room for both nights, en suite) and the second room, although better was awful as well. The beds were ridiculously uncomfortable and we were by a fire escape which was extremely noisy all night. Breakfast was a joke - weird pink meat and on the second day (despite paying in advance) said there was not breakfast at 9am. only good thing was the bread.location is good for the mosques but would recommend staying in Kismet or Beyoglou for a much nicer all round experience. please do not stay in this hotel as it ruined a romantic weekend away.

It is a good budget place to stay for few days

We stayed with our three young kids. The apartment was big enough for our family with a kitchen and both rooms had AC. Taxi driver had trouble finding the place but it is only five to seven minutes’ walk from Blue Mosque, excellent location. It is a good budget place to stay but don't expect hotel like facilities. Our apartment was on third floor and going up and down used to be challenging since there is no elevator.

Good size for Sultanahmet

Very friendly and helpful staff. The apartment was a great size for a family of 4 and we had a very comfortable 3 night stay.

Some of the decor and the bathroom are really in need of some upkeep but we were happy enough.

The area appears a bit run down at first but it is fine and reflects real life in Istanbul. Plus it is only a 10 minute walk (uphill) to the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque etc

Solid budget accommodation

Location: superb. A short walk to Hagia Sophia/Topkapi/Blue Mosque. Right smack in the centre of the old town. Cobbled streets and cats everywhere.
Staff: Good folks, very friendly and open
Room: Ensuite room was clean and the bed comfy, the shower was excellent.

Niggles: Niggles only, WiFi was patchy and it could be a bit noisy as it's all wood and you can hear the rooms above and to the side. Nothing that would lead me to recommend against this hotel though.

Don't have high expectations.

Arrived in the dark, my room was accessible by going out the back door, across a tiny courtyard, into a different door. Room was very simple but clean, very thin towels, ,uncomfortable hard mattress, barred windows, that won't stay open. Lots of little steps, and uneven pavement. Not for older people or children.

Good location in Sultanahmet

The apartments are located in 2 blocks, note that the area is hilly and the gradients are steep. We stayed in the 3-bed apartment which is next to a mosque on top of a hill. Good size rooms and kitchen with shower/toilet and another stoop toilet. Note that there was not a washing machine in this apartment (despite it being advertised on hotels.com and their own website). There is a nearby laundry service (7TYR for 1kg) however. The owner was very helpful and friendly offering to book any tours too. Post office (Western Union) nearby as well as several eateries and all the sights and sounds of Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Cemberlitas etc) are within walking distance. All in all a nice base from which to explore the old city. WiFi is also available though signal was weak in one of the bedrooms. They even came to clean the apartment and turn down beds midway through our stay.

Very good service from workers. Mustafa and Abdul Karim provided fantastic help. Room could be slightly better for starters some basic amenities such as shampoo and paste provided. Very simple to the point hotel I guess, so you're not exactly going Hilton. So if you're looking for a place to sleep for few nights and leave your bags, then this is the place.

The hotel is located in old Istanbul close to Cemberlitas & Beyazit Tram stations (only 12 min walking).
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was more than enough for our stay - was cleaned once every 2 nights by the staff
The view from the apartment is outstanding (you can see the sea, old Istanbul)
Excellent value for money
if you're planning to visit Istanbul and you're looking for a cheap (but good) place to spent the night before continuing your journey, Emirhan Inn Apartment is the Ideal place for you

Great location

Emirhan Inn Apartment is not really an apartment, but a bed and breakfast. The room was spotlessly clean, and had an excellent shower. The owners were helpful and efficient. The hotel is very well situated in a small and quiet side street, only 5 mins walk from the Blue Mosque. The room is quite small, but perfectly ok and good value for the price.

A good option to stay and very friendly staff

The hostel was very good located (walking distance to blue mosque) and the staff was very, very friendly and helpful!! I misplaced my documents and Mustafa and other staff of the hotel helped me find them and get to the airport on time! I can trust and recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was close to important sights to see.

Hotel was in a neigh hood setting and after 4 days we knew grocery and wine and fruit places. The staff was very helpful although not strong in English. The stairs would be difficult for any one with handicap but small children with us did not have a problem. Location is dense with people and traffic, but that added to local color. This is a place for those who are willing to make a little effort. Showers were hot, breakfasts sufficient and beds were comfortable. A short walk to the waterfront.

Good Location

Walking distance from the major mosques. (10-15 minutes) Near convenient store, restaurants. You will get good exercise walking up and down the cobblestone hilly streets. Wear walking shoes. The bathroom shower is an extremely tight space and I'm 5'4\" 130 pounds. It is clean, not fancy; just cozy. I enjoyed sitting on our balcony. We were on the top floor. The hotel sits next to the Little Haya Sophia. Be prepared to hear the mosque calls at the crack of dawn and throughout the day. Bring earplugs.

A really enjoyable experience, great location with really friendly staff who were always willing to help. The room was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. We chose to have breakfast included which was brilliant. Our room overlooked the street, but having read reviews complaining about noise we were not disturbed.

I loved this hotel! The Staff (Mustafa and everyone there) was incredibly helpful. Besides all the information and guidance given, I misplaced my documents before going to the airport and Mustafa was very helpful to find them and send them to me to the airport. We were given an upgrade of the entire two bedroom apartment, when we had only booked 1 bedroom with shared bathroom. The apartment had a lot of amenities in workin order incl washing machine and kitchen. The host is helpful.

I enjoy my stay in Emirhan inn. It an old and charming room with nice furniture and beautiful drapes that I admired the print. There was a little refrigerator, electric tea cattle, box of tea bags and instant coffee. Clean and comfortable room and TV cable that I could watch CNN, BBC and Bloomberg report. All what I need for comfort. The manager Mustafa is kind and healpful. Close to hotel I found excellent travel agency that I gotn ticket for the shuttle to airport, bus tour on the Istanbul. When I asked hotel manager to recommend a fish restaurant he found one that provided free shuttle from and to my hotel. My trip to Istanbul was wonderful becaouse of this people.

Value for money and good location

We stayed four days over Easter my wife and I together with out two upper teenager sons. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious, but the standard was just about adequate. To the ppsitive side the staff was really great, kind and always ready to help. Breakfast was also good. However, best of all is the location of the place. Ten minutes walk (or less) to the Blue Mosque and Haga Sofia.
