Location, friendliness and comfort

Let me say these were the most friendly people we have ever encountered in a hotel! It was very late in the day , close to midnight, and my kids were sleeping, so they did the fastest check in I have ever seen. The hotel is super practical for whoever is travelling and needs to be in and out the city quickly, the breakfast was super good (whoever towards the last 30 minutes some things started to be missing) and the facilities including the pool were really nice.

Excellent hotel and welcomed us and our three dogs and the room was large clean and perfect. Would recommend this hotel as the ideal stop off on route and has enclosed parking and a super bar and restaurant area. Small surcharge for each dog but very worth it. ThatHey

Love this hotel!!!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen! And so vibey and just overall the best! We absolutely loved our stay here! We are already planning the next trip back with our kids! The outside garden area is out of this world! And the live music and food were all so special. If I have to say anything negative it would be that our aircon was set to 25 and it was a very hot summer night so we woke up a few times before figuring out which setting is right(put it on the coldest setting and full fan -then takes a couple of hours to cool the room down). This was a minor issue and for the rest we have had a wonderful stay. Staff were all so pleasant and helpful. We will be back! Soon...

Good experience, be sure to eat in the restaurant!

Great stop over in Avignon. Good air-con, comfortable beds and a really amazing restaurant with live singing and excellent food and nice vibe - Especially to sit outside. Gym is a little small but machines are in good condition.

A comfortable hotel near Avignon

Very nice hotel. Located outside of town, but close to highways. The room was quite large, very clean and comfortable. Very good lobby interior design. A pool and restaurant by the pool look very nice. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. Parking is available and free. Breakfast has buffet option and continental option. Both are very good.

Good quality and reasonable price

We’ve stayed only one night though, experience was perfect! Room was spacious and clean and bar/restaurant made us feel visiting Jazz bar in exotic country. If I visit Arles/Avignon/ or near regions, I would stay it there again without any hesitations!

Nice hotel with great access to surrounding area

We have stayed at Novotel Avignon Nord a few times now and always found it very comfortable with great access. Although located in a commercial area near a major road, once inside it is quiet with a nice atmosphere and a good pool and tennis courts. Really liked the refurbished restaurant area this year too.

Terrible staff

I booked the hotel with breakfast included. But when I checked out, the staff asked me to pay for the breakfast. Because they thought Expedia did not pay them enough. I had to argue them for more than 30 minutes to not paying breakfast. I almost missed train, and did not have enough time to fill in the rent car, which is other rip off.

Overnight pitstop - children friendly

We stayed overnight on our way back from South of France to Paris. The weather was warm but the air conditioning had not been turned on and it was quite warm in the room. Opening the windows was worse with the noise from the highway (100m away) and the strong lighting from the parking. It was not a comfortable night. The breakfast however was very good.

Good bedroom and dog fleas beside the pool!

This is a 1970's hotel sited in a commercial shopping area next to a dual carrageway. We chose it (staying 4 nights)because it offered a reasonable rate for a 3 star hotel all within the Cote du Rhone region for visiting vineyards etc.
However, owners Accor seemed to have an air conditioning system ideal for cooler climes but almost useless in temperatures of 38 Centegrade! Same at Accor in Bilbao.The food was pretty horrid-they must use students as chefs- steak tough and returned and duck-that was burnt on the outside-raw in the centre. Must been just thrown onto the barbeque grill!
The rooms were sound proofed quite well-TV had awful BBC world as only English programme we watched France 24 in French language was more useful.
BBC world must be the most boring and useless channel in the world.Let it die soon!
Good outside pool and sitting area except dog fleas bit my legs and failed to heal for 10 days. Area Needs fumigating!
City breakfast at 8 euros is good value.The buffet at 16 is NOT.
France is fast losing its reputation for good tasty cusine -instead the
fast food joints (not all American) have taken over.Sad.

We used this hotel as our home base for exploring Provence, it was a great location with access to the autostrada, comfortable rooms, okay breakfast. Only downside is our non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke.

Relatively good hotel

Hotel is well located for drives to areas around Avignon but is not within Avignon city center. There is a commerce center nearby with food options, supermarkets and other necessities. Hotel is relatively clean but don't expect it to be spankingly clean (found hair in the toilet and a 'slow flowing' sink).

Nice hotel right off the A7

We did a quick stop at this hotel for one night on our way to the Med. We selected this hotel because it is right off the highway, making it a super easy stop. Despite arriving very late, we were greeted by a very friendly staff who had gifts for the kids. Our room was large by Euro standards and the pull out couch was a real pullout and not something lying on the floor. Even with the couch pulled out, there was room to walk around. There was a minibar with two bottles of free water included. The breakfast was bustling the next morning but we decided not to stay and eat since we were I a hurry. (The breakfast was not included.) We did not use the pool or any other amenities. Looking back I wish we had stayed for breakfast and taken a quick dip in the pool.

Nice hotel

Nice pool area with tennis court, table tennis and kids slide. Beware of the mosquitos at dusk though. The interior of the rooms looked a bit tired but they were comfortable and clean. There is a big shopping centre 50m down the road with a huge supermarket and places to eat. I would stay here again if I returned to the area.

The Go-To Hotel of Avignon

We've been staying at the Novotel Avignon Nord on business and personal trips for the past 25 years. We stay b/t 3-5 times/year. The staff has always been friendly and is willing to help with any request. Being just outside the city walls of Avignon makes for a less stressful stay thanks to easy (and free) parking with easy access to the area's great wine regions which are all w/in 40 minutes away.

Good base to explore the area.

After reading other reviews regarding this hotel, we were a little worried. For the price, the hotel is an excellent choice and a good base to explore the area. We stayed 4 nights (family of 4) and enjoyed it. Buffet breakfast is good, internet worked well and parking easy and secure. Definitely need a car for this hotel right on the freeway. Would definitely stay again if exploring Provence.

Decent place to spend the night if you get in late and are going somewhere else

We booked this hotel last minute, knowing we would barely be there since we got in on the train late and left early the next day to experience the French countryside. It took us a while to find it, it was pretty remote from the city center. Nothing to eat in walking distance, but the restaurant was pretty good. The amenities were nice, especially if you want to play tennis or swim in a lap pool. Our room was big, much bigger then you would get in a typical hotel in a city. The staff was pretty pleasant but their English was very weak, was hard to get information about things from them. Bed was a bit on the less then desirable side, felt like a fold out couch.

Beds had very thin foam style mattresses on them which was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was plentiful but the dishes were not clean and scrambled eggs were cold. On the brighter side our dinner in the restaruant was very nice. Location not great.

The rooms were comfortable.. Europe is not known for great beds. We enjoyed the hotel and its' facilities. Good location to explore the area. Breakfast is not included and is pricey.. Suggest walk to the mall, next to the hotel and have a great breakfast for 5 euros at Flunch.. Enjoyed our stay. We were travelling with our 11 and 9 yr old.. Sofabed for them, but clean and convenient.

Good if youre passing through AVignon

This is one well worn out Novotel. I travel a lot and usually choose nivotels and this is probably the most worn out one I've come across for ages , the plumbing was poor on the showers , the toilet hardly flushed. The air con in the room wasn't the best. It's a shame because I was expecting a lot more from novotel. I think this is a property that they have taken over rather than one purpose built . It's based around a very confusing roundabout system . I was in the area visiting Avignon, and in hindsight I realised the hotel was quite a bit out of the area to be good for sightseeing etc.

It is a nice hotel for vacation especially we drive and convenient to the surrounding sight seeing area. My friends appreciated a lot and the hotel cafe staffs are polite to customers of different nationalities. They provide service late in the evening which is helpful for traveling late return to hotel and can still take meal. We recommend to travelers.

Great stop-off hotel with young children

We drove over with two very young children from zeebrugge to cannes and decided that two stops would better than trying to do the journey in 2 days. This hotel was great value for money with breakfast included for 2 adults and 2 children. Hotel was virtually empty and we had the run of it. As its winter the pool was closed but imagine in the summer the pool and tennis courts are very popular. Breakfast was varied with lots of choice and the room very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the children even got a free teddy from them on arrival! overall a really nice stop on our 3 day journey to Cannes and we would highly recommend this hotel. also good secure parking with plenty of it..

You need a car to stay at this property. There were some constructions around the hotel, so our GPS system did not help as much, but the hotel sign is clearly visible, enabling us to navigate by sight. The hotel is secure, and a bit modest, but it is a 3-star hotel. Everything works, and is comfortable. We had a nice view of treetops and roof of an appt bldg, and the coloring reminded us that we are in France. The breakfast was adequate with all the basic food groups. Overall, it was nice.

Déçus,on voit mal la 4ème étoile : manque de personnel à la réception, pas de bouteille d'eau dans la chambre, téléphone sans aucune information pour contact avec la réception ou autre, bonde lavabo défaillante, avons dû demander du gel lavant pour les mains car vide, inconfort inacceptable pour un adulte du canapé, pas de slippers ou autre pour cette catégorie d'hôtel. On voit qu'il n'y a pas d'effort à faire pour l'hôtellerie mais service réactif suite à nos remarques.
Par contre, beau cadre du restaurant et rien à redire sur la restauration.

Mooi hotel, mooi zwembad en buitenterras, binnen ook mooi sfeertje. Eten is prima. Jammer dat er 2 dames bij de receptie waren die geen Engels konden. Zeker het jongere personeel zou je verwachten dat ze Engels kunnen spreken. Hotel zeker een aanrader, wel de rekening goed nakijken bij het uitchecken (vragen om de bonnen van de dingen die je genuttigd hebt), dat scheelde ons 124,-

Sejour de 2 nuits sur la route des vacances
Halte pour aller visiter avignon
Excellent petit dejeuner, copieux
Toutefois espace jus de fruits, the, cafe sous dimensionne quand il y a de l affluence.
Aucun souci avec le chien et les enfants.
Piscine appreciable quand il fait chaud mais froide
Carte du restaurant un peu light

Des chambres pas à la hauteur d'un Novotel

Séjour très mitigé, ma chambre au rez-de-chaussée avait une porte fenêtre qui ne fermait pas. Le service de réparation ne pouvait rien faire, et la direction de l'hôtel ne comprenait pas en quoi une porte fenêtre au rez-de-chaussée qui ne ferme pas est un problème !!!
Vraiment grosse mauvaise foi.
Sinon les restaurants intérieur et extérieur sont vraiment agréable, et la piscine apporte un plus.

En résumé
Les plus :
- Piscine agréable
- Espace restaurant extérieur très sympa
- Déco des espaces communs soignées

Les moins :
- La chambre vieillotte et mal entretenue
- La direction assez désagréable

Bon séjour, proche de plein de commodités. Seul petit hic, c’est situé dans une zone commerciale, donc pas très pittoresque. Mais la piscine, le petit déjeuner, le staff, parfait!

halte en famille très confortable près d’Avignon

Séjour très agréable. Lieu très soigné avec piscine ping-pong tennis jardin et bar/restaurant avec une super déco. Personnel attentionné. Chambre propre et spacieuse. À proximité des grands axes routiers.
