Looks good in pictures and has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay, however, the majority of the staff was so unfriendly. We have never received so many \"NOs\" or \"We cannot do that\" from a hotel. My family thought this would be a lovely 3 days relaxing in the middle of our trip, but it was the biggest disappointment over our 3 weeks through France and Spain. I encourage the staff to brush up on their hospitality and the bathrooms need a little more cleaning (pink mildew in the showers).
I will say it is a lovely setting/view, big rooms, nice pool area and good wine to drink. The restaurant was good food, but again the staff was rude, condescending and made the experience disappointing. I would not recommend unless you go in just for the setting and NOT the staff.

Wow I had such an incredible last minute stay here! We were so blessed to find this gem with excellent staff who all spoke perfect English. We had an amazing tasting next door at the winery with Natalie. We felt so cared for by everyone. The dinner was 5 star service and taste. We tried the truffle tasting menu with paired wines from the som, it was out of this world. The room was so beautiful, overlooking the vineyards. I will definitely be back!

The Chateau and grounds are beautiful. But, what we appreciated the most, was the wonderful service. Before we arrived, we requested help arranging transportation and dinner reservations in the area and the front desk staff (including Sebastien and Aurelien) helped to arrange this. They were very responsive, courteous, and made the process very easy for us. They assisted us with our luggage. The young man in the dining area was very professional and informative. We enjoyed the sense of humor and wine suggestions from the sommelier. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic (we recommend the cheese service), as was the breakfast buffet. Our room was bright, with beautiful views, a coffee maker, soft slippers, nice toiletries, and a nice bath. The seating area outside was beautiful, as it looked into the vineyard. We didn’t use any of the spa services or tastings at the adjacent vineyard, but we enjoyed a bottle from their vintage in the salon. The setting was so lovely that some of our family is considering returning to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Gorgeous property, my wife felt like a princess. Staff was friendly, and helpful with restaurant suggestions, wine tasting appointments and tour options. Requests were met with quick responses. Dinner was superb, and we would have dined there every night if the menu had more selections. Our only suggestion would be for a little more variety at breakfast as after several days the options had not changed.

Lovely staff and fabulous food at this magnificent castle with spectacular views over the vines. The staff could not have been more friendly or knowledgeable both at reception and in the restaurant. The food was lovely and well priced. The best cheese platter we have ever had for the price!! A mini-bar would have been handy. The bathtub had a hand-held shower mechanism and no shower screen which wasn’t ideal. We had a lovely stay!

This was quite an experience. A century old, 11 room Chateau nested amongst many vineyards. They have wine tasting and tour of their cellar available at a cost. The staff and service were impeccable. Easy self parking available. A small quint village near by to visit. Pet friendly, we had our 2 small Yorkies with us.

Our stay in the Chateau Fine Roches was amazing. To be able to stay so comfortably in such an \"ancient\" property is truly special. The restaurant was a culinary experience! Our dinners here were so memorable. The attention to detail of the wait staff was excellent and only surpassed by the skill of the chefs in the kitchen.
Our only complaint was that the property was difficult to reach without a car. We did not have one and felt disconnected from the town of Chateauneuf Du Pape and Avignon. During the day, the walk to town is enjoyable. At night not so much...Taxi service around CDP is nearly impossible due to the small size of the village. Taxis must come from Avignon, which is 15-20 minutes away.

Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff

Fantastic stay! A beautiful hotel with stunning views and the staff were wonderful. All the reception staff could not have done any more to make our stay fabulous. The speed of serving drinks was sometimes a little relaxed, but we were in the South of France so we were relaxed about it too and the staff were so friendly that it made up for any minor slowness. It was only a 20 minute stroll into town through the vineyards or a very short taxi ride away in the evening. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

We stayed at the Chateau Des Fines Roche for 3 nights during part of a longer European trip. I picked this hotel as I wanted a special experience for my birthday which was the second night there, and I was not disappointed.
My husband & I come from Australia and we don’t have the old grand architecture like in Europe, so to stay in a “Castle” also overlooking vineyards was very special for me. The staff were so friendly and helpfull and the food & wine were top notch!

Great place for a couple to enjoy for a few days. Very relaxing environment. Large room , good breakfast , a bit too quiet maybe but if the weather is nice, take your breakfast outside and enjoy the view. Ask for a plate of cheese and a bottle of wine. Sit outside at night and enjoy a bottle of Chateauneuf-Du Pape

This may have been the single best vacation hotel stay I’ve ever had. Everything was perfect from the physical setting to the architecture to the service, food, wine, views, weather. We wanted to stay in a Chateau in the countryside for a unique and different experience. The location, the view and the grounds are stunning and simply beautiful. The rooms could use some refreshing, our mattress had a hump in the middle and the carpet in one of our rooms was old. One of the bathroom lights didn't work. The shower was a little awkward to use in one bathroom as it was handheld only. We did have a private terrace just off our room by the pool, which was wonderful.

It's really all about the dining!

Admittedly we just came from an amazing small hotel in Gordes, so that may have clouded our opinion, but the Chateau seemed a little dowdy and run down. It could use some real decorating. Huge room and nice bath, but furniture, bed linens, and decor were kind of dismal. But the FOOD! We did the package including dinners, thinking we'd probably opt for the supplement to order from their more gourmet menu, but we didn't. The standard menus were simply fantastic and some of the best food we had in all of Provence. Really wonderful dining experiences -- both nights. Our biggest disappointment was they sent us to two different wineries for tasting and we were treated absolutely rudely at both. The hotel told us we could visit the actual cellars at one, but when we went they abruptly said, \"what do you want to do there?\" There was no offer to do so, and in fact NO offer to even taste their wine. It was NOT a good experience and really clouded our stay in Chateuneuf du Pape.

We stayed at chateau des fines roches for my husbands 50th birthday. The hotel was beautiful and charming with perfect views over the vineyards. Lovely private swimming pool and a wonderful terrace to dine on. Whether it be for breakfast or dinner. Wonderful setting for that romantic meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after us. Going out of there way to make our stay even more special. We visited the quaint shops ,cafés,and ruins in the lovely local village. We spent a full day on a wine tasting tour which was excellent. Visiting vineyards, chateaus, and cellars and seeing private collections.

Building needs quite a bit of maintenance. Mini bar fridge was not working and even after alerting owner still not fixed during our stay (3 nights). Were told pool towels in our room. No pool towels. Soap not replenished when used. Breakfast too expensive for what was on offer. Staff tried to be friendly but came over as a token effort only, especially the owner's wife. All in all, would not stay there again, even though the whole area is sensational. Would stay elsewhere. Also hotel definitely over priced, not good value for money.

The setting and hotel were exceptional. The view from our room was fabulous. The bathroom was small and the bedding/towels were average. The room was simply but had beautiful furniture and was spacious.The dining experience was good, food great but a little over-priced. The wait staff was ok. When we checked in, there was a lot to take in from a primarily French-speaking receptionist, when my husband asked a question about our stay, she said \"I already told you that\"! Loved staying here for a quiet get-away.

Beautiful Chateau-Beautiful Surroundings

Polite courteous staff in a wonderful location in the heart of Chateauneuf du Pape. The room was nice and clean, but the air conditioning did not work well at all and there was little/no ventilation from the open window. As a result of the stifling heat, we got very little sleep during our one night stay. The continental breakfast was fine, but overpriced. Do to the atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, we'd probably give them another shot on a subsequent trip. Being early in the season, I'm sure they didn't know that the air wasn't functioning properly.

Hostellerie du Chateau des Fines Roches--easily accessible to beautiful, historic Avignon and the lower Rhone wine region--is an absolutely beautiful place! The staff was incredibly helpful in setting up activities from touring wineries to scheduling massages. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! The food in the restaurant also is divine!

Charming and stress-free

My sister and I spent two quiet, relaxing and enjoyable nights here in mid-March. The rooms were beautiful, dinner was superb, served in the library next to a sitting room with a crackling fire where we had coffee and chatted with the other guests after dinner. The rooms look out over the vineyards, and the hotel is within 1/2 hour drive of many wonderful sights (Avignon, Pont du Gard, Gordes, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Orange). We had an afternoon guided wine tour with Sebastian - we highly recommend him. We had so many troubles driving in and finding parking in hotels located in cities, it was nice to have private parking on premises. The only negative is that our GPS did not have their road listed. Apparently it's a private road - so look carefully for the red signs as you come out of the old town of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, then turn down the long tree-lined driveway.

Vi stannade en natt på hotellet när vi var på genomresa, vi hade även med vår hund. Personalen var supertrevlig och tillmötesgående och vår hund var välkommen både på hotellet samt i restaurangen. Vi beställde en 4-rätters meny på kvällen tillsammans med olika viner, och allt va supergott med suverän service. Inget saknades heller på frukosten, vi kryssade i en önskelista och blev serverade allt vi önskade vid bordet lagat för oss.

Kasteeltje ca 2 km van Chateauneuf du Pape. Hotel en congrescentrum. Buiten zwembad. Geen lift. Kamers op 1ste verdieping. Ruime kamer en badkamer (junior suite) met prachtig uitzicht over de wijngaarden. Goed bed. Schoon. Restaurant met lokale kaart. Frans self-service ontbijt. Vriendelijk personeel. Parkeren op terrein. Prima verblijf om de wijnroutes te verkennen.

Medival experience in the middle of vineyard

We had a wonderful time at this place.
The room was not so spacious but it had a roof top terrace with 360 view of the area. Ask for that room.
Good size swimming pool with poolside seats and table was available all evening for small meal and drink. Generous offering of plates, wine glasses, forks, and knives for a small bite after dinner. Parking space very generous. My room was equipped with pod coffee machine. My room was very clean and the bedding was perfect for a comfortable night. The whole place is built on stones and walls are made of solid stones. There cannot be a noise from the other rooms. Perfect for relaxing night. You can have your coffee at the roof top that can be an experience of a lifetime. Lots of stars can be seen after dark.
