Good hotel. Super friendly staff. McDonald's restaurant 2 mins away which is a binus, as nothing else to grab a bite to eat. Small restaurant just outside, but Limited opening hours. Definitely out the way, 30-40 euros to airport by taxi. Train station 40 minute walk, but bus service from sration on at the moment. Not the hotels fault of course. Not convenient to get too after journey, but well priced.

Check in was slow, and receptionist could not find booking despite providing hotels.com itinerary number. Hotel restaurant was shut for the three days of our stay claiming the chef was off work however the bar was also shut for the duration of the stay, unacceptable.

Hotel with no Hot water and not safe parking space

I booked the Mercure Hotel with the expectation to spend a three days week-end in a confortable and relaxing atmosphere. I was participating to the ironman triathlon in Duisburg, and I wanted to avoid any stress by staying in a Mercure Hotel franchise. The result was totally the opposite from my expectation. Over the three days period, no hot water was available for shower during two days !! I had to take some cold water showers in the morning !!! When I did feedback the reception about the situation, they told me that \"this is not their problem, it is a technical problem\". I had to complain a few minutes to get their apologize !!! it was mentionned on the Hotel notice car parking where available. It was simply a lie, only few park places where avaible (<20). I had to park my car in a industrial area street in a zone where parking was somehow tolerated but totaly unsecure. A lot of Hotel residents were also in the same situation. The reception desk managers where absolutely unfriendly, showing no empathy and showing no respect for the customer. I was expecting at least at bit of fake empathy about the hot water problem but no miracle happened. Staying at the Mercure Hotel Düsseldorf - Ratingen was unpleasant and I do not recommend anybody to stay there. It should be mentionned in their introduction that hot water is not available everyday, and that you can park your car but not at the Hotel.

Good compromise of comfort, price and convenience

Check-in was seamless and the room comfortable, though not outstanding. Just a pretty good hotel room. Breakfast was very good. A hot and cold buffet with plenty to chose from. Restaurant on site. You park on the streets around the hotel once the relatively small parking is full. It was not a problem. I found a spot just 100 yards from the entrance. The immediate area is not particularly attractive, but the fact that Dusseldorf airport is just a few miles away is nice. For the price, it's actually a good deal. Hotels near Dusseldorf and/or the airport are insanely expensive. I was relieved to find this Mercure at an acceptable price...

One of the ladies was rude at checkin and the other was helpful. I wish a moni.fridge would uave been available. The site said there was Air Conditioning however we had to open the windows to cool off. Very close to the airport but you have scheduled the shuttle a day prior but we checked in at 1040pm & was told it was too late to request the morning shuttle. Basic hotel, but there is a McDonald's across the road.

We had to change our room 3 times because the first one smelled after cigarette smoke even though it was a \"non smoking\" room; second room the heater didn't work and the third one was offered on the first floor which was completely outdated. This hotel is no more than a 2-2.5 star hotel in our opinion as their rooms are very small and outdated. The staff were somewhat friendly but not a 4-5 star level friendly. I would not go back to this hotel at all!

I had left it late booking my hotel for the Wire 2018 exhibition in Duesseldorf. This was reasonably priced and available so I booked it. I realised that it was a long way from the exhibition grounds and the Altstadt but I decided to hire a car as I had other colleagues to collect from other hotels. On arrival I was a little surprised that there was no offroad parking available. However, once I parked and went in the hotel made an instant good impression. It is situated in a nice location with a nearby MacDonalds and even a little pub beyond that. I had a very good 2 nights stay.

Was there during an exhibition in the area so room price cannot be judged (far too high). Biggest problem: flushing the toilet. An ancient system that rarely worked first or fifth time. Was told all rooms at the same system. Restaurant was below expectations in terms of taste of what was ordered. If you can avoid staying there, do so!

It was a nice enough room and the bed isn’t too bad maybe a little hard but it’s fine however for a queen size bed you get 2 single quilts and only 2 very small pillows that when you place your head on them they go to nothing.
Our room was unfortunately on the 3rd floor and right above the reception area which during our stay was very noisy with guests drinking at the bar which was in the same area and this went on until late in the night we had to put music on in our room to drown out the noise so we could sleep.
We did try the restaurant one evening and we found the food very nice and the waiter was very friendly however we decided to go to McDonald’s for breakfast every morning as it was right opposite the hotel and that was nice.

Port in a Storm?!

This was closest available hotel to airport with vacancy due to 2 large shows in Dusseldorf. Hotel is 15 minutes from airport and in a semi-residential area with limited parking. Hotel itself is older layout with noise from guests drinking and visiting in lounge carrying to upper levels. Room we were given was small even by European standards. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom small but well equipped. Due to later arrival and limited time, we did not attempt to use internet.

Bar area and restaurant area were small and adjacent to each other on the ground floor.

Staff at reception area was friendly and efficient both checking in and checking out.

Would recommend hotel if no closer options available. There is a McDonald's across the street if you want to eat cheaply and quickly.

We had a lovely Fri to Mon Footy weekend here but we're let down by a few things. On the night when we were dumped by the bus thanks to a very unhelpful security guard at the train station that assured us we would have a taxi waiting for us ... the receptionist (male) couldn't understand what I was trying to say, even told me that I didn't have a room with them, although we were booked for three nights. He did give us a taxi number but they didn't understand us either ... thankfully another bus appeared on the other side on the road and we were saved. Rooms were comfy apart from two things - no air con and wasn't able to have the window open to wide because there was a roof outside our window. On our last night we had a family put in the same wing with a child that screamed on and off and run up and down the hall until midnight! Good thing the bus stop is across the road and once we got our head around it we were able to get about with ease and much cheaper than the taxi's they are extortionate and price changes from the first quote before you get in the car ... when you drive off ... and when your driver gets lost and finally gets you there.

This hotel is very clean and beautiful. And the price is great! you’ll love their breakfast, but it cost 14 or 16 Euro per person! It's a little bit outside of the DUS airport, but it’s still very close. Shuttle bus runs frequently, but it’s not free (6 or 7 Euro per person/one trip). Over all, It's a great hotel and great location to catch up an early flight from DUS international airport.

The WiFi is for a charge, but they have two free public computers (dreadfully slow!) with free printing. The room is OK, though I had to reduce the heating -- it's been really stuffy when I entered; and they've had no hot water one of the mornings. Also, the public transport connections aren't great (1 bus per hour to D-Derendorf, or 20min walk to S-Bahn station)

Mercure Hotel Dusseldorf Ratingen

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel atmosphere was nice and the staff was a GREAT help. My parents stayed at the Mercure Airport and in comparison, ther Mercure Dusseldorf Ratingen is much nicer. Both Hotels have Great staff that are friendly and willing to go out of their way to assist you and I am very thankful for that.

No where near Dusseldorf, nothing nearby, nearest shop miles away, a 20 minute tram journey and 15 euro taxi fare from dusseldorf. Once booked we could not cancel as booking was non refundable. would not reccomend this hotel to anyone travelling to Dusseldorf.

My room was on the ground floor close to the hotel bar with a lot of noice until 23h30. The hotel should install a automatic door closing the corridor to the rooms from the noice of the bar. For people wanting to sleep before 23h30 I suggest to refuse a room on the ground floor.

Ontvangst was vriendelijk en netjes. De faciliteiten wat volgens het internet geboden wordt zoals restaurant en bar zijn gesloten. Hotel is op zich sterk verouderd en kamer krap wat betreft 1 kant van het bed. Het komt helaas niet over zoals op het internet beschreven staat . Uit \" armoede\" cq nood zijn we wat gaan eten bij de Mc Donald die er direct tegenover zit . Hotel is erg aan vernieuwing/renovatie toe.

Relatively expensive hotel. Single room is connected to neighboring rooms via a very thin door so a normal conversation disturbs the neighbor so much that they complain. The hotel could not help with another room and the reception did not care.

Wir haben hier eine Nacht vor unserem Flug übernachtet. Das Hotel ist ca. 11 Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt.
Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.
Das Zimmer war ruhig und sauber.

L’hôtel est bien situé, proche de l’autoroute et à une vingtaine de minutes des centres d’intérêts de Dusseldörf.
On a une bouteille d’eau de bienvenue et c’est rare de nos jours! Le petit-déjeuner offre un large choix. On aimerait avoir quelques prises électriques près du lit.
Je recommande cet hôtel pour son excellent rapport qualité/prix.

Um 12.30 Uhr angekommen um alle Papiere zu erledigen, damit wir das Nachts nicht mehr machen müssen.
Alles geklärt und so sind wir entspannt zu unserer Feier gefahren. Mitternacht zurück im Hotel, war unser Zimmer nicht mehr verfügbar,und das Hotel war ausgebucht. Sehr unfreundlicher Mitarbeiter, wir sollten uns jetzt nicht aufregen, wir werden schließlich kostenfrei umgebucht. Das hieß für uns 32 km Umweg und für mich als Rollstuhlfahrerin gab es kein passendes Zimmer, obwohl gezielt ein Rollstuhl freundliches Bad von uns gebucht wurde.
Dazu die Rollstuhlparkplätze waren belegt von Fahrzeugen ohne entsprechenden Parkausweis.
Ganz klar muss gesagt werden das hätte man bereits Mittags uns mitteilen können und nicht erst Mitternacht und definitiv hätten wir einen freundlicheren Mitarbeiter erwartet und keine arroganten Aussagen hinsichtlich was wir uns jetzt darüber aufregen und schließlich würden wir ja ein Zimmer weiter entfernt bekommen oder könnten ja einfach auf dem Sofa schlafen. Keine Entschuldigung, kein Hinweis wie man zum anderen Hotel kommt und dann noch für mich als Rollstuhlfahrerin ein Zimmer was für mich nicht ohne Hilfe nutzbar war, ohne meinen Mann hätte ich die Nacht im Rollstuhl verbringen können und wäre nicht ins Bad gekommen..Wir werden nie wieder ein Mercure Hotel buchen.

Freundlicher Empfang beim Check-In • im Gegensatz zum offenen & schönen Eingangsbereich eher enttäuschendes und kleines Zimmer, wenig Steckdosen, dürftiges WLAN, zwar Wasserkocher mit Tee- und Kaffeezubehör, jedoch keinen Kühlschrank, kein Safe, kein Bademantel; das unter Hotels.com als Highlight angepriesene (und nicht auf den Fotos gezeigte) TV-Gerät ist offen gesagt eine Frechheit – alt & winzig wie ein Standard-PC-Monitor • über leichten Schimmel in der Duschkabine und einen gnadenlos schiefen WC-Sitz kann man aufgrund der angenehmen Walk-In-Regendusche hinwegsehen – nicht jedoch, dass unter den Betten offenbar längere Zeit nicht mehr gesaugt wurde • Die angepriesene Erfrischung in Form einer 0.75l Wasserflasche für fast 5 EUR ist definitiv kein Willkommensgeschenk
