This place was a hidden gem. I was just looking for a place to stay for a night while traveling home and found this place. It was a great end to my vacation but one night was not enough. I plan on going back again for a longer stay. The host was very responsive and helpful. The breakfast was great and the views were amazing from the province building and the lookout.

This is a true bed & breakfast and it is magical. Set in the forest, with a mountain in the background, lovely lighting outside at night. We really loved the setting.

The views were great! The room was very nice and decorated nicely. However, the internet was TERRIBLE! Almost non existent WI-FI. We had to set up hot spots with our phones to actually get any Internet service. I would have to walk down to the front door just to check email, etc… The breakfast on the first morning we were there was very late and the food was AWFUL! Hard, cold scrambled eggs, store bought muffins, the coffee makers, both in our room and in the breakfast corner were terrible. We will NOT be coming back to Laurel Valley Mountain Retreat again!

The property is beautiful, serene and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful and the views just breathtaking. Definitely recommend this place for adults who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Very nice stay. Was a tad bit confusing on how to get there at first but eventually found it. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back and stay again. Very peaceful place to stay.

The room was clean and check in instructions were easy to follow. Breakfast was delicious each day. Parking was fine but sometimes not enough space to park at the end of the day. Not too much they can do about that. The only thing that was lacking was not enough utensils/plates/bowls etc in the room. The view was amazing and the property provided a great deal of privacy. I would definitely recommmend this location and stay here again.

Clean room, nice room, unique being not the run of the mill hotel. No staff at main lodge so that can be troubling if you need to speak with someone or have difficulties getting in to the lodge. Breakfast was good a bit different than regular hotel breakfasts.

Our first time using digital chack in and it was a bit confusing at first. Staff responded quickly to voicemails and got us squared away with early check in and codes.

We really enjoyed our one night stay here. The lodge is located in a beautiful wooded area with a trickling water feature below and Mountain Views. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! Although there are no staff on site, they assisted me to retrieve something I left there. They couldn’t be more helpful! Overall, I highly recommend this small, unique lodge.

My husband and I were in Townsend for our grand daughter's wedding. We stayed at Laural Valley Mountain Retreat. We were on the second floor and had a great view. When I booked our room, I had no idea we would be walking up 21 steps to our room. SURPRISE!!!! These are thing you really need to know about when booking. My husband is 78 and I am 76 and have had total knee replacement in both knees. I was also wearing a heart monitor that weekend. Boy did I give it a workout. Two people staying for three nights need more than two wash cloths. The only time we saw anyone there was at breakfast time. The breakfast was always really good and the girl who prepared it was so sweet.

We had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere for the resort is peaceful and calming as it is fully nestled in the woods but has amazing views of the mountains. Even if you do not have a mountain view room, there is an observation deck for everyone and the lobby has several floor to ceiling windows with comfy seating with the same amazing views. The room has a rustic decor but is very clean and the bathroom is modern. We love. The breakfast was beyond wonderful. It's a local food artisan that serves a breakfast bar with great food like eggs, sausages, biscuits, waffles, biscuits, etc. It is levels above a typical hotel breakfast bar. And, of course, you can enjoy the views while enjoying your breakfast. Highly recommend and will probably stay here again when we are in the area.

Breakfast was great views were incredible. A lot of the photos are from the observation deck and not actually out of the room so it’s a little misleading.

Bedding felt luxurious and the bathroom in the presidential suite was absolutely beautiful and again very luxurious. It was a 5 minute drive to our holiday party at dancing bear lodge, the property was isolated enough to feel like you were in the mountains but also close enough to do all sorts of things! We will definitely be back!!

If you're looking for a secluded stay with a beautiful view, this is where you what to be. The only negative was that the balcony wasn't as updated as the room. The first step out to the balcony has some give in the boards & the railing wasn't in the best shape. Being that high up, that needs to be updated. The lobby was stunning with 360° glass walls with a cute library feel.

Our stay was wonderful. It was our anniversary trip. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay and this place was the perfect spot. It was really close and convenient to everything and the rustic theme was very cozy and the view of the mountains was beautiful. Very easy check in process and staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious and clean.

There were only 2 hiccups the shower handle wasn't working and we had to wait to get to our parking spot on a couple that had to strap down their motor ycles and car before we could get to our parking spot. We loved the chalet it was very peaceful

Bear country room with a view.
The room was amazing and the view off of the balcony was breathtaking. Within the first hour of being there we encountered a moma bear and her two cubs. That was the cherry on top. We will definitely stay there again.

Great Cozy Room with a View
Cozy room with a beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. Very quiet location in the woods, with a running brook and coy pond. Saw a huge bear cross the street about a mile from the room, so that was a plus 😆 About 30 to 40 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, through small towns. Hillbilly Restaurant is very close and they have a good breakfast buffet. You will not be disappointed when you stay here. There's no front desk. You get a code to enter the property after 10PM and codes to get into the building and your room. Apartment size fridge, Keurig, microwave. We will be back.

What a hidden gem near Townsend!! This is a very unique place to stay (I was just looking for a hotel room) The bed is comfortable, the bathroom has a neat walk in shower. Just like a bedroom with a gorgeous view of a mountain. If I'm ever back in the area, I will for sure stay again and a bit longer than just one night. Check in was SO easy. I didn't get the email because it was a last minute decision to stay, so I called and almost immediately got a text with information. Excellent find!!

Absolutely stunning. It is an older place, so you can hear your neighbors creeks as they walk around.But nothing crazy. Very romantic getaway. about 45 mins from downtown Gburg. Will be staying here again.

We really loved this place and wish we had more time to stay. We only stayed for the night and we got in late and left early but even in the dark you can tell the property is beautiful! The room we had was super cute, clean, the shower was so nice and check in was super easy and contactless. The only con I can even give would be if you are a light sleeper go for a 2nd floor room our room was not and in the middle of the night someone going up the stairs about scared me to death lol but once I realized what it was I don’t think it would have bothered me after that and I would for sure stay here again! The location to the National Park is also great!

It was the most beautiful over night stay I’ve experienced in a very long time. I have nothing at all to say except good things. It was the closest to heaven I’ve ever felt and honestly have ever been. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and I know I will return to this extraordinary place. The stay was amazing with a beautiful view. The only thing I could say was less than perfect was the doors. The main door would not latch unless you held it shut for a few seconds. It wasn’t the biggest issue ever but was a little annoying at times. The door to the room we stayed in could have used some things to help us feel more secure. What I mean by this is that the door had gaps above and below it and the frame. There also wasn’t really a lock on the door; it had a switch so that the keypad on the other side couldn’t be operated but it would have felt more secure with an actual lock. The property also has an amazing observation deck with a spectacular view the only issue is that if you go through the doors to the observation deck the only way back in is by going through the front door of the lodge there is no way to get back in through the door that leads to the observation deck. Overall an amazing experience but I feel like if the property felt a little more secure there wouldn’t be any other place I’d rather stay while in the pigeon forge/gatlinburg area.

It was ok. Nice facility but its being managed from somewhere not local. I missed the check in instructions which were pretty detailed and wasn't what i wanted to do after driving and in the dark.
