We really enjoyed our one night stay here. The lodge is located in a beautiful wooded area with a trickling water feature below and Mountain Views. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! Although there are no staff on site, they assisted me to retrieve something I left there. They couldn’t be more helpful! Overall, I highly recommend this small, unique lodge.

My husband and I were in Townsend for our grand daughter's wedding. We stayed at Laural Valley Mountain Retreat. We were on the second floor and had a great view. When I booked our room, I had no idea we would be walking up 21 steps to our room. SURPRISE!!!! These are thing you really need to know about when booking. My husband is 78 and I am 76 and have had total knee replacement in both knees. I was also wearing a heart monitor that weekend. Boy did I give it a workout. Two people staying for three nights need more than two wash cloths. The only time we saw anyone there was at breakfast time. The breakfast was always really good and the girl who prepared it was so sweet.

We had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere for the resort is peaceful and calming as it is fully nestled in the woods but has amazing views of the mountains. Even if you do not have a mountain view room, there is an observation deck for everyone and the lobby has several floor to ceiling windows with comfy seating with the same amazing views. The room has a rustic decor but is very clean and the bathroom is modern. We love. The breakfast was beyond wonderful. It's a local food artisan that serves a breakfast bar with great food like eggs, sausages, biscuits, waffles, biscuits, etc. It is levels above a typical hotel breakfast bar. And, of course, you can enjoy the views while enjoying your breakfast. Highly recommend and will probably stay here again when we are in the area.

The keypad you use to enter the premises needs to be explained better! We had several guests that couldn’t get into their room. We couldn’t get into the lodge or our room either. Breakfast was deleicious! Scenery was bar none! Stunning for sure.

Didn’t understand the layout of the property in the check-in experience was a little difficult. However, easy to text customer service and they replied right away. Breakfast was great views were incredible. A lot of the photos are from the observation deck and not actually out of the room so it’s a little misleading.
Hair dryer on its last leg, king bed needed to be fixed by me. The supports underneath were broken.

Beautiful and clean room, VERY cozy, peaceful and just a gorgeous property! This is the best vacation my husband and I have had in a very long time!
Bedding felt luxurious and the bathroom in the presidential suite was absolutely beautiful and again very luxurious. It was a 5 minute drive to our holiday party at dancing bear lodge, the property was isolated enough to feel like you were in the mountains but also close enough to do all sorts of things! We will definitely be back!!

If you're looking for a secluded stay with a beautiful view, this is where you what to be. The only negative was that the balcony wasn't as updated as the room. The first step out to the balcony has some give in the boards & the railing wasn't in the best shape. Being that high up, that needs to be updated. The lobby was stunning with 360° glass walls with a cute library feel.

Perfect Nature Rustic Retreat

Our stay was wonderful. It was our anniversary trip. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay and this place was the perfect spot. It was really close and convenient to everything and the rustic theme was very cozy and the view of the mountains was beautiful. Very easy check in process and staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious and clean.

The directions to the unit were confusing and the walk down to the unit was difficult. Not sure it would be doable for elderly or disabled.
Two lights were out...shower and bar area. Coffee was not stocked and clock was incorrect and we were not able to set it.
Was a nice unit but felt there was no one to call for help...a call to the \"emergency number\" was not returned.
Was a nice unit however and we enjoyed our stay.

There were only 2 hiccups the shower handle wasn't working and we had to wait to get to our parking spot on a couple that had to strap down their motor ycles and car before we could get to our parking spot. We loved the chalet it was very peaceful

Bear country room with a view.

The room was amazing and the view off of the balcony was breathtaking. Within the first hour of being there we encountered a moma bear and her two cubs. That was the cherry on top. We will definitely stay there again.

Great Cozy Room with a View

Cozy room with a beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. Very quiet location in the woods, with a running brook and coy pond. Saw a huge bear cross the street about a mile from the room, so that was a plus 😆 About 30 to 40 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, through small towns. Hillbilly Restaurant is very close and they have a good breakfast buffet. You will not be disappointed when you stay here. There's no front desk. You get a code to enter the property after 10PM and codes to get into the building and your room. Apartment size fridge, Keurig, microwave. We will be back.

What a hidden gem near Townsend!! This is a very unique place to stay (I was just looking for a hotel room) The bed is comfortable, the bathroom has a neat walk in shower. Just like a bedroom with a gorgeous view of a mountain. If I'm ever back in the area, I will for sure stay again and a bit longer than just one night. Check in was SO easy. I didn't get the email because it was a last minute decision to stay, so I called and almost immediately got a text with information. Excellent find!!
