Amy
Loved this quaint, well kept inn! Beautiful property with great pool, clean room, and great location. Attentive staff and complimentary breakfast a plus. Would return and recommend to others!
Mary
It is a delightful inn on a hill near Smokey Mountain National Park. The breakfast is very basic \"fast food\" such as boxed cereal and hard boil egg, juice, coffee/tea. Not fancy, but sufficient. The best feature is the kindness of the staff -- very pleasant and sure to please.
Laura
We’ve stayed here many times and have always had a great experience. It is an older hotel, but very clean and so quiet. The owners are wonderful and the staff is always more than helpful.
Robin
Would definitely stay again. Very nice accommodations and friendly staff.
Angela
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and great views!
Julie
Wonderful stay! We will definitely be back!
Kevin
Tub was dirty, breakfast was a joke
Michael

Beth
Everything was very nice. The room was wonderful, exactly what we wanted! Thank you for a wonderful 39th anniversary! We will be back
Tammy Terry
Nice lady at deck. Religious owned . Bed very comfortable. Great covers. Great location. No complants
Thomas
We stayed in two other hotels in Townsend on the same trip and this was by far the best. We will go back the next time we go to GSMNP.
megan
Property was absolutely beautiful great Location and overall a great experience. Will definitely stay here again
Melissa
Our room was clean when we arrived and cleaned daily during our stay. The beds were very comfortable . The only improvement could have been a brighter light over the sink. I would totally recommend staying here.
Cindy
Easy check-in/check-out. Large quiet room. Very clean, comfortable bed. Easy access to property. Each room has its own entrance, and parking was easy, right in front of the room. Breakfast is offered, but we chose not to take advantage of it, so we can't speak to it.
Gregory
Every member of the staff was fantastic. Had a package delivered and they made sure i was aware as soon as it arrived.

We had a wonderful time in Townsend and the hotel was great! Our room was clean and smelled great. The hotel in general was well maintained. The staff were great and very helpful! We hope to see you again for the 2027 Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games!
Laura
Always a reliable great place to stay.
Horace
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the overal maintenance of the landscaping. We enjoyed the peace and quite that this place had to offer. We will definitely have to stay here again.
Cathy
Wonderful little stay in Townsend. We loved this hotel. It was quiet and peaceful there. Beautiful scenery.
Holly
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a Continental Breakfast. There was coffee, hard boiled eggs, pastries and cold cereal. It was lite and not heavy. Perfect for hiking and biking! The staff is very friendly. We've stayed here in the past and we hope to stay here again in the future.
Beverly
We do love the property, and we enjoyed our stay. Only thing I will mention is for us the bed is too firm. Nothing wrong with that but, we prefer a softer bed.
Bev
The staff was very friendly and made sure we knew where ice maker was located. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Jilda
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice and quiet and homey.

Vickie

Steve
Very tidy property and convenient to the car show
Wendy
My stay was fine, even if the price was a little high for the value. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The location was good, with easy access to restaurants and GSMNP. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully manicured. My only complaint was with the included breakfast. It was not served until 8:00, and the only items served were breads/pastries, cereals, hard boiled eggs, and drinks. No hot entrees, no fresh fruit, no yogurt, and certainly nothing to fortify you for a hike on the nearby trails. And it was all served on Styrofoam with plastic utensils; there was no recycling or composting in evidence. I would not stay here again.
Shauna
Hotel was close to Cades cove which was nice but that’s where it ends . The hotel desperately needs upgrading . The bed was as hard as a rock and our bodies hurt so bad for a few days after . The pillows need upgraded desperately! The coffee is terrible but it is included so it is what it is . 150 plus on a week night for a room from 1970’s if that’s your thing then this is the hotel for you . Staff was friendly
Joshua
Everything was great for our short one night stay. Every thing was very clean and the lady in the office was super nice. Breakfast was very small with few options but fine for a quick bite before hitting the road.
Kimberly
Nice
Donald
Stayed 5 days in March. There was no room cleaning. Suppose this could be due to the time of year.
The property is good, but certainly not “wonderful “ as described by Expedia.

YMMV - Mine was unsatisfactory
Quaint hotel/inn. Rooms still have physical keys which was a throwback. Quite dated in styling but it’s not a knock against the place.
Room was quiet unless a vehicle with a loud exhaust came by but that’s just due to the layout. Slept well and I was comfortable.
Only real negative was the booking situation for me. I booked the room through Hotels.com and it seems it allowed me to do so on an expired credit card. Now, the Highland did call stating as such since they needed to put a deposit down (odd … no mention of this on the booking page - I almost always opt to present my card and pay when I get to a stay). Over the phone, I gave the person who called the updated expiration date and the code. Thinking everything was complete since I did not get a call back, I thought I was set.
Till I tried to check in when I arrived. They didn’t have my reservation. On their system, it was listed as cancelled. Now, I’m not sure if it’s a training problem or the booking system they’re using is new to them but I was disappointed. They did have a lesser room which they offered to me at unfortunately a higher cost than the room I originally booked. I was already there and I was going to let it ruin my trip but I will probably pass on booking there again.
If they made things right from the rip, I’m sure I would have made a more positive review even with the booking issue.

The room was clean and it was in Townsend where we wanted to stay. The continental breakfast could have been better. Not much there. We had a nice stay.
Cynthia
This place was so wonderful! It's in a great location to Cades Cove, nature trails, locally owned restaurants and more. I stayed here with my parents when I was a teenager and it was really great to come back with my own family.

Great Place to Stay!
Would highly recommend staying here! The entire staff was friendly and accomodating. Location was great! Near the Smokey but away from the gimmicks in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Vladimir
A clean and quiet hotel close to the Great Smoky Mountains entrance and the Tuckaleechee Caverns. Staff was very helpful and respectful. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay and to be close to nature, you would enjoy it as much as we did.

This was one of only a couple rooms left in the area the night we came through town due to some sort of event down the street. I was a bit concerned due to the age of the property and pictures were not super great. But it was available and we took it. So glad we did! Yes, the property is older but in well maintained condition. Easy parking directly in front of our room. The desk clerk, Christy, was stellar! Friendly, gave a great dinner suggestion, and offered her assistance with anything we might need. She was friendly, efficient and just a lovely individual! The room was clean and no frills but very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom I wish I could take home with me! Seriously. It’s amazing. I would stay here again any time and you should to. Family owned place beats hotel chains hands down. Breakfast is included but we did not have any as we had food to use up ourselves. At checkout, Christy asked if we liked the dinner (she remembered!) and thanked us for coming. Don’t overlook this little gem!

Great Place to stay in Townsend
Staff was excellent. Room was great. Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel room itself was nice. However, the shower curtain was missing. I brought it to the attention of the lady at the front desk. She was rude about it. She was also replacing food on the breakfast bar without using any gloves or utensils as to not directly touch the food that the guests were eating.

Property and rooms are extremely clean. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet stay, this is the place. Close to Great Smokey Mountains National Park and Cades Cove.

Phenomenal water pressure in the shower. Would come back for that alone.

The property was clean with a friendly staff. Great restaurant across the street called Abbey. The only thing I did not like about it was that we were advised that we could not move to a bottom floor because we had book with Expedia and not the hotel itself.
Jennifer
Very friendly staff
Stephen

Karen

The property was in a great location but room 204 was the worst ! The beds were old and worn ! The toliet was clogged! The tub was slow draining ! Parking was a problem !

Our room was clean and comfortable.
The view from the balcony was wonderful and the front desk staff was great!
Even the deer are running and playing behind the building.

We staid in a kitchenette for a week and felt the kitchen could use some organization and minor updates. Albeit, most of the utenciles where there but were found out of place in various drawers that didn't feel clean enough to use right out of the drawer. Meaning that if the drawers cannot be replaced that a clean organiztion utencil tray would be a good investment.
Room was clean but ciuld used a sweep/vaccume as we kept brining debris into bed on our feet. Bathroom had zero mold and clean.
The things mentioned here are minor and would go a long way for the room experience.
Overall our stay was wonderful.

This is my third year staying at the Highland Manor Inn for the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games. The rooms are clean and fairly large. The staff is friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast is good.

We have already reserved this hotel for a visit in April 2026. The room we had was a little outdated. The room isvery quiet and the balcony was peaceful. The parking for the room, in this particular section, is horrible. There are approximately six rooms (or a few more) and only four paved parking places. The convenience of this hotel to the visitor center where we were for an event is perfect. Townsend is an amazingly quiet town. You are still closely located to the rambunctious Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The Great Smoky Mountains are out your back door. Again, we have already reserved to stay there the following year that’s how much we like this family built, owned and ranhotel.
