Easy check-in/check-out. Large quiet room. Very clean, comfortable bed. Easy access to property. Each room has its own entrance, and parking was easy, right in front of the room. Breakfast is offered, but we chose not to take advantage of it, so we can't speak to it.

My stay was fine, even if the price was a little high for the value. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The location was good, with easy access to restaurants and GSMNP. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully manicured. My only complaint was with the included breakfast. It was not served until 8:00, and the only items served were breads/pastries, cereals, hard boiled eggs, and drinks. No hot entrees, no fresh fruit, no yogurt, and certainly nothing to fortify you for a hike on the nearby trails. And it was all served on Styrofoam with plastic utensils; there was no recycling or composting in evidence. I would not stay here again.

Hotel was close to Cades cove which was nice but that’s where it ends . The hotel desperately needs upgrading . The bed was as hard as a rock and our bodies hurt so bad for a few days after . The pillows need upgraded desperately! The coffee is terrible but it is included so it is what it is . 150 plus on a week night for a room from 1970’s if that’s your thing then this is the hotel for you . Staff was friendly

Room was quiet unless a vehicle with a loud exhaust came by but that’s just due to the layout. Slept well and I was comfortable.
Only real negative was the booking situation for me. I booked the room through Hotels.com and it seems it allowed me to do so on an expired credit card. Now, the Highland did call stating as such since they needed to put a deposit down (odd … no mention of this on the booking page - I almost always opt to present my card and pay when I get to a stay). Over the phone, I gave the person who called the updated expiration date and the code. Thinking everything was complete since I did not get a call back, I thought I was set.
Till I tried to check in when I arrived. They didn’t have my reservation. On their system, it was listed as cancelled. Now, I’m not sure if it’s a training problem or the booking system they’re using is new to them but I was disappointed. They did have a lesser room which they offered to me at unfortunately a higher cost than the room I originally booked. I was already there and I was going to let it ruin my trip but I will probably pass on booking there again.
If they made things right from the rip, I’m sure I would have made a more positive review even with the booking issue.

This was one of only a couple rooms left in the area the night we came through town due to some sort of event down the street. I was a bit concerned due to the age of the property and pictures were not super great. But it was available and we took it. So glad we did! Yes, the property is older but in well maintained condition. Easy parking directly in front of our room. The desk clerk, Christy, was stellar! Friendly, gave a great dinner suggestion, and offered her assistance with anything we might need. She was friendly, efficient and just a lovely individual! The room was clean and no frills but very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom I wish I could take home with me! Seriously. It’s amazing. I would stay here again any time and you should to. Family owned place beats hotel chains hands down. Breakfast is included but we did not have any as we had food to use up ourselves. At checkout, Christy asked if we liked the dinner (she remembered!) and thanked us for coming. Don’t overlook this little gem!

The hotel room itself was nice. However, the shower curtain was missing. I brought it to the attention of the lady at the front desk. She was rude about it. She was also replacing food on the breakfast bar without using any gloves or utensils as to not directly touch the food that the guests were eating.

We staid in a kitchenette for a week and felt the kitchen could use some organization and minor updates. Albeit, most of the utenciles where there but were found out of place in various drawers that didn't feel clean enough to use right out of the drawer. Meaning that if the drawers cannot be replaced that a clean organiztion utencil tray would be a good investment.
Room was clean but ciuld used a sweep/vaccume as we kept brining debris into bed on our feet. Bathroom had zero mold and clean.
The things mentioned here are minor and would go a long way for the room experience.

We have already reserved this hotel for a visit in April 2026. The room we had was a little outdated. The room isvery quiet and the balcony was peaceful.The parking for the room, in this particular section, is horrible. There are approximately six rooms (or a few more) and only four paved parking places. The convenience of this hotel to the visitor center where we were for an event is perfect. Townsend is an amazingly quiet town. You are still closely located to the rambunctious Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The Great Smoky Mountains are out your back door. Again, we have already reserved to stay there the following year that’s how much we like this family built, owned and ranhotel.

It was a lovely stay, no-noise they had breakfast, but we didn't try it. very close to many restaurants and attractions. will stay there in the future. Not too far to drive if you want to go to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but with way less traffic.

Overall it was a great convenient one-night quick stay for us. Convenient location in Townsend. Room was clean and comfortable. Only minor gripe was that it would've been nice to get a heads-up that they apparently stop their breakfast service a half-hour early on Sundays, as we didn't see that stated anywhere so missed the breakfast when we came down at the time that was posted.
