The family-run Gstaaderhof - Active & Relax Hotel is located in the heart of Gstaad, not far from the famous promenade. All rooms are designed in a modern chalet style and have been renovated in recent years.
Enjoy the peace and quiet and a view of the mountains of the Bernese Oberland as well as the surrounding chalets. The hotel has two restaurants and a hotel bar.
Relaxation is provided by a small and fine wellness area and massage service. You are able to park your car in the hotel's underground parking for a small extra charge and can easily reach hiking trails, excursion destinations and ski slopes on foot or by public transport during your stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and everything was perfect from the moment we checked in. The location is great, walk to everything. The included breakfast was delicious and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely. I would highly recommend!!

I feel that this hotel is a great value for Gstaad. The free spa, with a sauna and a steam room, is spacious, clean, and well-functioning. The rooms are the same. Breakfast is good, with omelets and other items available for order at no charge. The free bikes are modern and well-maintained. They will pick you up from the train station upon request. The staff are competent and friendly. The location is good - a short walk from the center of town. I'll continue to stay here.

It was also conveniently located in Gstaad, and while not having a car, it wasn't necessary to climb up a steep hill to reach the hotel. Highly recommend this place for a reasonably priced accommodation with great quality.

The hotel itself is pretty and has all u nd for a short stay in Gstaad. Very clean and lovely breakfast w warm waiters ready to fake ur orders for freshly cooked eggs and coffee. I was also wondering if the hotel caters specifically to senior guests when i found myself n my friend to b e only ones not grey haired at e breakfast buffet. Everyone else stared at us as we walked in hahahah! Bt no worries i hv no issues being amongst older folks cos they are sweet. On e hindsight, Gstaad is not a town u wld like to visit. We read abt gstadd and imagined a lively fresh town w posh cafes and boutiques. However, wat our hotel reception told us was more true. It is a sleepy and dead village. So if u’re planning, just gv Gstaad a miss.

Hotel is nicely located with shops and restaurants just around the corner. Staff very approachable and kind. Hotel and area were very quiet and relaxing at this time of year. Hotel room was very warm with Windows that could be opened if it got too hot. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a nice selection of foods- which included boiling water for eggs and a toaster for guests to use for their own preference. It was a nice surprise to find that the hotel offered free bike hire- and then discover that the hotel is closely located next to bike trails.

Gstaad is amazing, however it was sort of dead during the time we visited. The village is beautiful. We had a beautiful view from the hotel. The hotel has this old feeling to it, but its the location that was stunning. People are very nice. At breakfast (which is included), the waiter brought a high chair for our 5 month old, although she couldn't sit up yet, but he used a pillow and was very caring.

Beautiful and cozy hotel in the center of Gstaad. An ideal location just off the promenade, with the best shopping. There is a drugstore and incredible fondue restaurant under the hotel, and a market and ski shop across the street. Quiet location but in the center of town. You can even walk to the Eggli ski slopes, and the bus stops directly outside the hotel. Wonderful delicious breakfast and a charming and helpful staff.

We ate dinner, slept, had breakfast, and hiked from Gstaaderhof hotel. All were a pleasure. Staff at desk and in restaurant are all impressively multilingual and extraordinarily helpful with good cheer. Food was excellent. Their menu easily accommodated our dietary restrictions. Excellent vegetarian and local pastured choices. We booked a small double room but it was more than sufficient for our needs and impeccably clean. Simply stroll to Gstaad pedestrian zone. The hotel desk staff were all experienced hikers who knew the trails and gave excellent advice for a route. The Gstaad official tourist info office, a 2-minute walk in the \"town\" center, was also helpful. It's right near a bus stop to the mountain top trail and that worked out great.
Only improvement would be having a lighter sheet for sleeping instead of only a down quilt. But this is all over Switzerland. I don't understand why they figure out to not wear winter coats in summer but still think you need a down quilt.
Biggest wonderful plus was the following. We planned to hike the day after we slept there then take the train after dinner and not stay at the hotel again. Knowing this, the staff OFFERED to hold our luggage at the desk while we hiked and suggested we use their spa showers upon our return! Which we did at no fee except our own freely offered tip. The underground spa was a trip unto itself! We would return here for sure.

This is a standard hotel for Switzerland. It is clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. The only problem was that there was only one duvet, which they probably also use for winter. It was too warm for the summer weather. Hence, I slept with the window wide open, which brought in occasional traffic noises. For the price charged, I would expect a bit more.

We went for a couple days before ski season. The hotel is a five minute walk from the train station, just down from the Promenade (with all the high end shops and restaurants). Hotel location is great. No hills to climb to get there and just off the beaten path. We pulled our luggage from the train station with ease. The hotel bar is nice, the restaurant has good food options (for non meat eaters). They've got a library and billiards room for hanging out (and places to sit outside when weather permits). Breakfast is included in room rate (at least for us). Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was comfy and well appointed. Certainly recommend.

Given the location a few minutes walk from Gstaad town centre, this hotel is very good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel facilities are in general very good, the hotel restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Our room was fairly small and basic, but clean and functional. The parking garage is fairly cramped so be aware if you have a large car!

A well run hotel , conveniently located just a few minutes walk from Gstaad town centre.
Staff were extremely helpful and the hotel mini bus collected us and our luggage from the station even though it's within walking distance of the hotel.
An excellent full breakfast was included and the hotel has an excellent restaurant for evening meals.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time. The service was absolutely fantastic and flawless, from the front desk ladies, to the manager to the restaurant waitresses, everyone was very friendly. The breakfast is very good, and they are 1 minute's walk from The Promenade which is the main shopping street. If I would give them one advice, it would be to introduce free car parking (and a little chocolate on the bed would have made my girlfriend very happy)

Freeze your butt off in Switzerland!
The only good thing about the hotel was the location. The staff at the hotel were kind, yet made you feel like an outsider. They keep the hotel at a balmy 64 degrees F, and no way to control the temperature in your own room. We asked them to fix our heat numerous times through out our stay. But after 2 bone chilling, sleepless nights, we decided to change all of our plans and leave early. After which, they refused to refund our money for the 2 nights we did not stay.

Our room was freezing and we had to cut our entire vacation short by 2 days because my wife got sick. The hotel refused to refund the 2 days telling us it was non-refundable. Who charges people who get sick in the hotel and have to spend thousands rearranging their travel? Below summary of what happened through emails with the hotel:
