This was the worst properly that I have ever stayed at in Myrtle Beach. There rooms were extremely outdated, there was black mold in the rooms, the indoor pool area were dirty. One of the hot tubs was taped off and the other one had a thick foam in it. Customer service was terrible we couldn’t even get an extra blanket Expedia or the hotel didn’t offer any resolution. I I feel like I got robbed.

We stayed in one of their villas, it was a decent sized room for a family of 5. However, the floor was disgustingly filthy, had to walk around with shoes on at all times because you could feel how dirty the floor was, several bags of ours have black stuff all over them from being just sat on the floor, there was leftover cilantro on the microwave from previous people, the AC didn’t work for a whole day and when I mentioned it to the front desk they sent someone in to look at it but he stated it was on heat and walked out when in fact it wasn’t on heat, and was set on cool since we got there and when I showed him a picture I had taken of the thermostat being on cool before I walked down to the office he brushed me off, but it would not go below 76 despite being but on 69. Overall not a good experience.

I stayed at Sand Dunes Resort for 2 days with my friend, and this was genuinely the worst hotel/resort experience of my life.

We originally booked a room with two queen beds and a kitchen, but the first room we were assigned had a cockroach in the kitchen. After we complained, they moved us to another room just two doors down — which honestly didn’t feel like much of an upgrade.

The cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable. The bath towels were dirty, and the only clean towels in the room were the hand towels, which is what both of us had to use after showering. That alone says everything.

The bathroom/shower was terrifying. The bottom of the tub felt so soft, unstable, and sunken in that it literally felt like it was going to collapse while showering.

Also, don’t expect even basic hotel essentials. They did not provide toothpaste, and the soap they gave smelled so bad it honestly felt like I was washing myself with vegetable oil or canola oil.

If you enjoy staying somewhere that feels closer to a dumpster than a resort, then this place might be for you. Otherwise, save your money and book literally anywhere else.

I would never recommend Sand Dunes Resort to anyone, and I will definitely never stay here again.

Beach view was a little obstructed. We booked for a waterpark but only had a little indoor pool that was filthy and over chlorinated to the point it burned my eyes and throat just being in the room. They were not upfront that the outdoor waterpark was closed or when it opens for the season. The room was average. Bed was comfortable. Pricing was fair for the cafe and restaurants in the hotel. Having breakfast included would have been a plus.

Everything was wonderful we had a hair competition and it was right next door to our hotel.and the room was wonderful no problems..we needed extra towels and it took them no time to quicklyget us fresh ones .everything we needed was in one spot and was right on the beach
It had in door pools..ice cream spot..arcades ..nail salon..restaurants...and even a convience store it had everything we love it

the room was dirty and smelled. They sent someone up to give us a bottle of air freshener. I had to clean the mirror to see out of it. The iron was nasty and the ironing board was torn and dirty. Elevator wasn’t working properly. New staff member put us in a room with double beds. We were told to come back after 6 and we would be moved to a room with a king bed. That didn’t happen!!!

Front desk had me waiting around for 2 hours after my booking was paid for in advance. Said it was thru a third party so it might take 10-35 min. Wasn’t the case. After I contacted Hotels.com after I con Hotels.com and spoke to the virtual assistant and gave me the information that I needed to have to confirm who I am and an hour and a half later still not in a room. FrontDesk was helpful slightly but the fact that I had to keep going back-and-forth between the telephone and the front desk was just too much took over two hours to get in a room

The room was good, very hard to find. However the jaccuzi was nasty which is why I booked here. They have a nice indoor area open during the winter, however the jaccuzi had brown foam coming out of it and the whole area smelt like shi*. Also you have to pay for breakfast!!

Stores for shopping near by. Close to great restaurants. The staff was beyond amazing. Great price for a weekend trip. I will definitely be back.

staff was very rude-Tameka who was not a manager claim to be one and refused to give me GM name when i asked. i was suppose to get a view of waterpark and instead a parking lot and trees. So when I called and complained about the room so asked me was i raising voice which I wasnt , then she asked if I wanted to leave? Thats when I asked For manger and she told me she was. we stepped out on balcony and at 10pm tried to close and lock it the whole handle fell apart. we called to report and after 45min no one showing, i called again and asked when they would be up there and Tameka said "cant you just sleep with it open tonight?" they finally got up there after 11pm and could not fix it...they had fight to get the door shut, but finally did. The hot tubs were so disguisting it looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks ...it was complete foam and brown water! and they also offered a discount and Tameka refused to to give me the discount!

Stayed in The Villas for the efficiency kitchen use. Have stayed there before. If you go, I wouldn't recommend The Villas. The hotel itself has nice accommodations and amenities.
I don't complain about conditions but the tile/vinyl floor was filthy. Didn't really catch on for a while because everything else was fine. I also was missing jewelry. I hate to accuse theft but I am certain I had it in the room.
I submitted a verbal and email complaint but was never contacted by the hotel for followup.

The room is dated as they all are...and we were greeted by a Palmetto bug in the living room ...ughhh However, the set up was nice... bedroom in the front and kitchen separated the bedroom from the kitchen. View was supposed to be "Water Park" but, the park is over a little and its more a parking deck view, but still too bad. The trees block any view of the Water Park area. Overall, the accommodations were average an were sufficient for what we were there to do.

A very nice hotel right on the beach with nice pools and a tiki bar. Our suite was spacious and well appointed. Unfortunately we discovered roaches on the kitchen counter both of our night stays (every time you turned on the lights at night you found at least 1 or 2 live ones). Also, the floors appeared to not be mopped for weeks. We told the front desk and finally an exterminator came, but housekeeping never did. Later we let them know that 2 of 3 light bulbs needed replacing in the bathroom and 2 guys showed up within 20 minutes and replaced them.

The room floor plan was great for us, the closeness to the ocean was great, staff was nice and the Beach Front Restuarant was nice and affordable. The major issue is the room was VERY dusty (walls, shelves, and lights), the floor had not been moped/cleaned, and the coffee maker did not work. There was a light that did not work over the dining table that looked like it had been taped back together and there was a hole in the wall next to the refrigerator. We were only there 2 days, but they did offer a discount and were apologetic about it.

Our stay at this hotel was disappointing. The staff was not very friendly and at times came across as rude, which made check-in and interactions uncomfortable. The bedroom was poorly maintained and noticeably dirty—the floors were extremely black and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Overall, the lack of cleanliness and unfriendly service made this a place I would not recommend.

As soon as we entered the vibe was unwelcoming, the young lady in the front desk who checked us in seemed like she did not want to be there and barely acknowledged us, when I asked a question it seemed like we were bothering her and it was not a great first impression. Our room was dated and the ceiling on top of the shower was caving in, the bathroom floor also had hairs around it and the light switch was covered in something I had to clean off. The breakfast buffet was very small and was not that great but the service provided was good. The coffee corner was my favorite part of the stay. I will also mention that they had plenty of parking decks but if you got there too late, depending on where your room was, you would have to park far from where you were staying and walk a bit.

When I first enter to the front desk I was not greeted. As I enter the room I had to clean my own hotel and it smelled like poop. The ice yes yellow in the freezer. The wall had a hole in it. The closet door was broken off.. the living couches were dirty and stained up as well as the mattress to the bed. The mattress was also hard. When I went to tell the people at the desk she asked me do I wanna change rooms but they don’t have a room to fit 12 people and also if I changed rooms the price wouldn’t change. They didn’t do anything about it.

The hotel said no pets allowed and I saw different kinds of dogs. That’s something that I didn’t expect and also the beach area. Some people told us to move or umbrellas to be behind the area where they were renting. How could I enjoy the ocean with a bunch of umbrellas in front of me.

Overall, this place was fairly clean. The rug in the living room was nearly black with dirt/wear. It should be removed or replaced. It was disgustingly dirty and we had a baby crawling on it.

The water park opened at 11 and closed at 7:00 pm which is too early. I was very disappointed in that.

This is our annual family trip and I will not stay here again.

Disappointed but we made the best of it!

Rented 2 rooms for ourselves and our cousins. The rooms were not alike. Theirs had been updated with a walk in shower and granite countertops. Their room wasn’t as bad as ours except for the bra left in the closet and the dirty floors.
The rooms we had were misrepresented in photos. The photo shows a door, which we were hoping for to have a bit more privacy from our daughter who slept on the sofa in the living room area. No door and as we looked closer, the door in the photo is leaned against the wall and in fact would not have closed due to the bed in the way. Also, the ocean view balcony shown in the photo must be on an end unit, because the only way we could see the ocean was if you hung yourself over the railing or if you stood in the very back corner of the balcony in both units we rented. The “waterpark” was obviously taken with a wide angle lens because it was much smaller than expected.
Cleanliness was a big issue. The floors were filthy, mold in the showers, and the vents were filthy as well. The bed had sand in it when I slid in and it wasn’t from my feet. Same with all beds. No toilet paper in the bathroom upon arrival. The front desk staff was accommodating, but not very friendly.
That being said, the restaurant staff were all very nice and very attentive all 3 times that we ate or had drinks and the beach was beautiful!
I know you get what you pay for and the price was reasonable for a beach stay, but I will not book here again.

The property has several pools, things to do for small kids, unit is good size with everything u need to stay for a week. Has restaurant, pizza place, a store for small necessities! Beach is clean and few steps away, arcade for kids, the cleanliness is a problem! Walls were dirty, floor was literally black when I wiped a spill! I liked the place but if I stay again I would have to clean it. And I am not a picky person but this is unacceptable!

It was nice having a 2 bedroom suite and being near the ocean. However, the grounds had a few water features that were not functioning. This was not communicated prior to our stay. The water features were a big draw for staying at the hotel with children. Also, there is no included meal offered, not even a continental breakfast. The food was very expensive.
The hotel was not dirty, but not as clean as other places.
Parking is free, however finding a spot is very difficult.

This property was great for my kiddos... 5 kids (3teens 2tweens) ... we stayed in the three bedroom two bathroom. Everyone had a bed ... and the balcony was big enough to stretch from the living room to one of the bedrooms that was ocean view. I utilized the full kitchen to make breakfast mornings and dinner twice. . Which saved a bunch of money... also the unit had a stackable washer and dryer which was great to wash clothes and swimwear as often as we needed... not taking home dirty wet clothes was a plus...
The site had a water park and pool which my kids took full advantage of every day... beach front resort 👌... i would stay here again but the overall cleanliness could be better... i covered the couch with a blanket because it looked liked it hadnt had a good upholstery cleaning in a while, and the base boards were filty in the bathroom .Under the couch pillows were nasty and there was left over trash in the bathroom cabinet and dirty dish in the dishwasher... Basically it was hard for me to unwind until i lysol'd the place down and wiped down all important touch and sitting spots with clorox wipes...and im NOT OCD ... just keen on cleanliness. . . Which could use some work.

This hotel is definitely a catfish. The pictures do not really show you what the property is like. It is old and out dated. There was mold in the AC unit and on the back of the door. There are no outlets close to the bed so forget charging your phone at night by your bed. The majority of the staff has an attitude. I spent $50 on cleaning supplies to feel a little better about sleeping there. I also bought pillow cases and Lysoled the sheets. Never again will I stay here.

The room was extremely dirty; the floor looked like it had never been mopped, and the sheets and towels felt unclean.
