Spacious 2 bedroom apartment with multiple balconies. Very clean, the bed was comfortable and the linens were high quality. We had a lovely supper at the onsite restaurant-delicious meal! Unfortunately we left at 330am so we did not know about the Airport shuttle. We checked out so early that we did not have the pleasure of having the Breakfast. The pool area was very beautifully landscaped. There are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Jaz Neo Ivory was a great choice for accommodation prior to our early morning flight.

Pool area is small but nice.

Restaurant food is decent quality but quite expensive. All prices are in euros. We are there once and then found cheaper places nearby.

We didnt have breakfast as we used this hotel as a place to stay in our way back from Luxor, only until our flight was due as it is very close to the airport. Otherwise we would have been at the airport for 11 hours. We did have a very good reasonably pruced dinner there and the service was excellent.

The hotel is close to the airport, surrounded by lots of new construction. The guest room included bedroom, sitting room, and a small kitchen area (refrigerator and sink but otherwise unequipped). Draperies were a little tired but otherwise the room met my needs at a very reasonable (cheap) price: comfortable bed, clean, quiet, helpful staff, and a refreshing pool.

Huge Room, Needs a Refresh!

The room size was fantastic—easily the best part of the stay and a very nice surprise. Plenty of space to spread out! Unfortunately, the hotel itself is starting to look very dated. It's clear that it needs a maintenance overhaul. Think scuffed paint, loose fittings, and general wear and tear. Great potential here, but a refresh is sorely needed and furniture smells bad.

The hotel was definitely older but the staff was friendly and it had everything you need. Can’t beat the price for a 2 bedroom apartment for the night. Close to nice resorts and there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Really close to the airport which was what we were looking for.

I have stayed here 4 times over the last two years. Its close to the airport and convenient for late flights.
Im diabetic and this hotel is perfect as it includes a fridge for my insulin.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable.
The staff are super helpful.
We have stayed in several other hotels in Hurghada and my sons chooses this one as his favourite.
We often go for a walk and have always felt safe in the area.
We always eat either room service or the restaurant and the food is good.
The hotel has organised a taxi to the airport for me.

The best thing about Solymar Ivory Suites was the staff and the hospitality. Ahmed Shendy was my go to guy for any issues and questions we had; a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you kind sir. Ahmed assisted us with internet connection issues, currency issues and just general questions and suggestions regarding the surrounding area of Hurghada.

There isn't much going on near the surrounding area of Solymar Ivory Suites, in fact dining options are limited as well. Anywhere you wish to go is a bit of a journey; a 10-20 minute car ride depending on traffic. I highly suggest using Uber and tipping them the max... a far better option than arguing and haggling with Taxi drivers that constantly want to rip you off. All our rides cost about $5 at the most!!

The Venue itself was great for what we paid. We ended up with a large two bedroom flat. It was a bit too cold to use the swimming pool, but the pool looked clean and well maintained. We had WiFi connectivity issues, web access was choppy, inconsistent and worked half the time. There was some hair under a couple of the beds, not cleaned thoroughly. Everything else was fine and worked as it should. The hot water was HOT! So be careful. Glad to be a VIP member of Expedia, I got my late checkout extended for free, no additional charges. I would easily stay here again.

The hotel is great for people looking for a hotel, which is quiet and not frequented so many tourists from Europe or America But European and American tourists are often looking to connect with other tourists from the west. At this hotel, you will have a problem with that. Although it is clean and clearly a four star hotel, it was not frequented by tourists from the above mentioned continents. Most of the guests were so called locals, who all spoke arabic and communicated with the personnel in their native language.

The hotel personnel spoke good English but there were few people to speak English to. My son and I enjoyed the hotel. Even though the location wasn't so good, you could get to the city by taxi for just a few Euros. You could also get to the beach by taxi.

The hotel has a small pool to help cool you down during the day or evening. If something didn't work properly in your room, within one day, they repaired everything.

It will be fascinating to see, if they are able to attract more tourists from European countries. Their buffet in the evening was great. When they had ale cart because they were few guests in the hotel, then most of the food was served without any sauce to help digest the rice or meat.

If you are interested in a typical European breakfast, this is the wrong place. You won't find the foods you are accustomed to.

I like the hotel and the personnel, but the hotel is missing European or American Tourists.

Really enjoyed my 8 night stay at Solymar and works definitely stay again. The reception staff are superb. Sherif avd Ahmed gonout of their way to ensure guests are happy and looked after. They organised me a fantasy excursion at short notice, which was not only well organised but superb value. It is obvious the staff really take pride in their work.

The hotel is compact however the suites are huge. Mine (110) was huge.. bigger than my apartment in London! Housekeeping are very efficient and the rooms and linen are cleaned/changed frequently.

The hotel isn't beachfront but is very close the airport in less touristy part of Hurghada. I really enjoyed the range of ships and eateries nearby, catering for both locals and visitors. I felt safe in the area. Beaches (Dreams Beach/Old Sheraton) are a 5 mib cab ride away. It cost be 50 egp (80p!) each way.

The breakfast is wonderful and superb value and I'd highly recommend. omelette cooked to order and a good selection of pastries, cheese, fruit and yogurts. Dinner is also good value and I had it 3 times. It was a bufget with bref/chicken each time.The chefs are wonderful guys.

I'm so pleased to have found the Solymar. I didn't want to spend my week at one the big resort hotels, that only cater to north eiropean/russian tourists. The Solymar has a much more mixed crowd.

Thank you to everyone who helped me to have such a good holiday. I hope to return.

Great value

The location of this Hotel is within a 25 minute walk from the airport. It is a 10 minute walk away from a strip of restaurants and shops/bars. Out the main door turn left then first right continue straight until you reach the strip.
The Hotel is an excellent budget hotel in all but one aspect, which for me was the wifi.
Room wifi poor at best and lobby wifi not strong enough to support a whatsapp video call, but did support an audio one.
The room for a solo traveller was a suite including, kitchenette, lounge hallway, bathroom ,bedroom and two balconies(307). This was spacious, basic and clean.
The hotels heatbeat comes from Ahmed on reception who will organise tours for you at a fraction of the Get Your Guide price. Some tours are long in coach travel which was ok by me but not everyones cuppa.He is also helpful in many other aspects.
Do not compare this hotel with the luxury brands but if budget is you priority this has excellent value in bucket loads.

I had a pleasant stay at Solymar Ivory Suites. Thanks to the receptionist who enquired about my wifi requirements before room allocation. This accommodation offers a good wifi connection despite a technical issue encountered on the first day which was resolved by the staff. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hot water supply was consistent. The check-in and check-out processes were fast. The location is convenient with eateries and marts around. One minor drawback was the bedding which could be improved by providing a proper blanket instead of a white sheet.

The hotel was okay at its most, I didn’t expect much for the price. However I’m pretty mad that they charged me for “taking” something from the mini bar. Recommendation: If you buy a beverage at any store outside, throw your garbage someplace else, because their whole basis for charging me was because they found a bottle that apparently was the same brand as the one in fridge. It was only 40 EGP, but still I don’t like my integrity questioned, much less from a person who can’t even check an inventory. Location was okay and near the airport, however not even that will make me change my mind as the WORST hotel I’ve stayed at.

Staff was super friendly. Housekeeper was one of most detailed I have seen for long time. First night we had few mosquitos in the room, but after spraying one 2nd day we got rid of them. Breakfast was great value given the low price. Only negative thing was that wifi only works at lobby but not in rooms.

This was our second stay at the Ivory Suites and it really was fantastic - check-in was easy and straightforward, the room (and we had a choice of floors) was huge, beds very comfortable, excellent price and staff very accomodating with anything we needed. I really recommend the Ivory Suites and we will be back!

This is a great little place in a great location if you want to walk places.
The rooms are large with kitchen, living room and seperate bedroom. It's clean and excellent value for money. Food in the restaurant is very good and staff are friendly.
Its everything you need if you are on a budget.
Pool is clean and the hotel has a very homely feel.
Although not on the beach, you are only a short distance away. Very clise to the mamsha with lits of shops and bars. You won't be disappointed.

Nice hotel, good facilities, nice room however it is a bit in the middle of no where. can get taxi ride to most tourist areas for 40 LE. They charged 125 LE for 5 min pick up from hotel and lied that the parking was 50 LE as the driver told me he pays 5. On the way back it was 100 LE, not that expensive anyway but that is what you get in Egypt people taking advantage, just need to accept it and get on with it.

I would not recommend this hotel as you can not get internet in your room!! Internet only available in Lobby.

A good quality bargain

If you see this at a low price, don't be put off. The place is good quality and the rooms/apartments are lovely and large. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Only slight disappointment was the temperature of the (otherwise sparkling) pool - a little bit nippy. The main drag - restaurants, tourist shops - are just a short walk away.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. I haven't travelled alone before,and was slightly worried. I won't worry again now I know about this hotel. The trip I have now to make regularly will feel like visiting friends.

Satellite TV, internet and AC all worked great.
The staff is extremely helpful and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

An excellent choice.

I stayed in the Apart Hotel as bed and breakfast. A very good Hotel, excellent value for money and close enough to the hubbub of Hurghada, short walking distance (10 minutes). Staff were very helpful and polite. I had a large room with separate hallway, bathroom, kitchen and living room I would highly recommend this to any travellers looking for a place to stay in Hurghada.

Breakfast has improved this yewear. Staff cintinue to be friendly and willing to assist. The place is fairly simple and not luxurious, but perrfectly adequate and the ability to do one's own cooking is a bonus. Wifi signal laves much to be desired but that is Egypt and not anything to do with the hotel.

Convenient to airport, desert and mountains

Spacious clean rooms, really helpful friendly staff speaking good English. We used it as a base to explore the desert and mountains to the west for which it was ideal. Restaurant, bar and lush courtyard with swimming pool. Only 5 minutes by taxi from the airport, we walked in 20. If you are looking for something slightly more authentic than a 'Soulless Western tourist hotel' it is a good choice. Ask at reception if they can arrange a day trip by 4x4 with Bedouin driver into the desert and stay to watch the sunset. The sand, mountains and rocks are amazing and the Bedouins so friendly and knowledgeable of their surroundings. (dress conservatively) It would be hard to be disappointed.

Don't take nothing from minibar or you charge you like second room price. Guys on reception at check in told me minibar is free of charge. But at check out time charge me for everything.. For example, one can of domestic beer cost me about 6$.

Still the best!

Of all the Hotels in Hurghada this is the best we´ve ever been to (I came to Egypt the first time in 1984). Suites supernice, big and clean, staff absolutely top! Try the food in the restaurant - especially the Pizza margherita was the best we had in a long time! Nice and friendly room-service. 10 Egyptian pound (approx. 1,50 Euro) makes them do miracles. By mistake I took the key with me to El Gouna - the boys from the reception came for no extra charge and got it from there. Thumbs up for the Sol y Mar.Note: taxi-drivers mostly don´t know the Hotel as it is not directly on the Ocean. They mostly call it \"Suleyman-Hotel\".

Just came back from my first visit to Egypt with my husband, we stayed for one week. The weather was quite warm in the day but at night cold due to this being winter. The last two days the weather was great. We ate at wonderful restaurants, Thai, home food, and even McDs. Smoked Sheesha, went to other hotels and had use of the beach which was wonderful, and a good time in the hot tub!
Overall we had a wonderful holiday, visited Luxor, and experienced the valley of the Kings, drove a speed boat, and did the desert safari, great fun.. would bring the kids next time, because at this hotel there is lots for the kids to do with food and slides, activities to keep the little one's occupied all day, whilst you relax and enjoy. The staff at Sol Y Mar made us feel looked after. We had breakfast only which was good, and with good choice. I am definately going back.

Quiet hotel with friendly staff

Hotel itself was good; clean, well maintained and staff/ service very good. The location is ok, but there isn't much around and we couldn't find a way to get to the beach. The time of year (late Jan) was quiet so there isn't much to do in the area. In saying that, the main town centre is only a 10 min bus ride away.
The food at the restaurant is terrible (and I'm not a fussy eater!) so I'd recommend the large cafe garden next door or go into town or the marina to eat.
If you ask the hotel to book you a taxi, ask the driver the price in front of the hotel staff because they will always charge you more than the hotel say they will.

Good value for money, ample space. If you want internet, do not beleive you will have it in your room, unless you are in 1st floor. The corner room 102 at the pool can avail you partly with internet, but there is a neighbour house with a lot of noise from playing children up to late evenings. Advised to draw a map with all details, taxi drivers have a severe problem to find the place. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Access to Aquamarine Blue hotel will take you 10 minutes + by taxi (or free shuttle bus) - and you pay 5 EUR for the access. It is definately worth it......

I went back 1 week later.

For the price offered, this hotel was a give-away. The apartments offer a lot of comfort and luxe. A perfect hotel for people who don't need to be straight at the beach.

Great For Business and pleasure

Very large rooms , very clean and comfortable , well maintained , Excellent Staff < average breakfast and location but below than average neighborhood, its safe but mostly under construction. though its close to the pedestrian promenade and 10 minutes walk to little Buddah .

i would come back

Sol Y Mar Ivory Suites

A great place for independent travellers. A lounge with yv and balcony, a bedroom, a kuitchen with all that is required to cook and a bathroom, and the apartment overlooks the pool. Free wifi available 24 hours a day.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful. If there is a problem it is dealt with immediately. The bar is well equipped. the only negative is the rstaurant. The food is very boring and the breakfast is the same each day.But I will stay there again as it duits my lifestyle.

Sol Y Mar Ivory Suites

Excellent accommodation for those who like to be independent and do their own cooking. The staff are great, the rooms clean, the pool is in a good location, scrupulously cleran and the hotel is well maintained. If there is a oproblem they send someone to fix it immediastely. Staff are very helpful and do all they can to please. Wifi is free but in reception and around the pool area only as the signal is we4ak in the rooms. But it provides an opportunity to meet the othe4 guests who are going on line. . It is easy to get to the airport and to town and taxis are very cheap. The only negative comment I have is the standard of food, but as breakfast is free, as there are good eating places close by and as I can cook for myself, this is no big deal. I will definitely stay here again.

Sol Y Mar Hurghada - not quite what I expected.

Clearly, the investors in this hotel have spent a lot of money on construction and furnishings and don't intend to lose out by poor maintenance. The reception is attractive and spotless. The receptionist, Mahmoud, could not have been more helpful. From chefs to waiters and groundstaff, all were polite and very friendly. The manager is a charming chap. The room - more like a flat - was immaculate and decorations are of good taste. Food is well prepared to order and can be taken at the room's dining table if required. I chose this hotel because it is near the airport but I never heard an aircraft. The bottom line is that this establishment is staggering value. I'm booked back there for three days this month. Trust me, you can't go wrong by staying at the Sol Y Mar.

Sol Y Mar Ivory Suites Par Excellence

Priced right - friendly and helpful people at front desk. My son and I were on a 7 day live aboard SCUBA holiday in Feb 2011. Stayed there before and again after diving. Most enjoyable. Highly recommended!

A great economical place to stay as a base

Friendly, claen, large room / suite and very affordable. Great location for the airport, a 10 minute walk into town, recommend the Lebonese restaurant just down the street. Need to have things to do like divuing as pools limited.

BEST DEAL

I stayed in this huge, new, beautiful suite that included living/dining room, separate kitchen and bedroom for an unbelievely low price. A nice, extensive breakfast was included. The pool area was very nice, the staff wonderful. It was in more of a residentual area, but beach was walking distance as was a major resort/shopping area. I chose to walk back and forth and it took about 10 minutes. A taxi to beach, airport or town was reasonable (around $2-4). I felt for all the amenities it was an amazing deal and look forward to returning..
